Toronto-based metal messiahs DECATUR will be unleashing their debut album “Badder Than Brooklyn” produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira on October 6th, 2017. In preview to its release, the band have teamed up with MetalUnderground.com for the premiere of its full stream. The debut is all-killer, no filler! It doesn’t hide behind its production; it compliments it. These are truly songs of power and empowerment, a clarion call for strength in life’s battles…healing through headbanging. From the power shredding of “Into The Night” and the storytelling of the album’s title track “Badder Than Brooklyn” to the brutal beat down of songs like “Bottled Inside” and “Internal War”, DECATUR feel modern metal has lost its way and they’re here to provide the roadmap forward to the future!

There are so many musicians in the world, but very few true artists and Joe is definitely one of the artists. Getting the chance to work side by side with him was an amazing experience for us. This album turned out better than we hoped. We put a lot of time and effort into the final product. We really scrutinized every piece of it. Our goal was to bring metal back to its hay day. To write a great album and not just a great single. We definitely created something original with this album. Something that’s not happening in metal at the moment. It’s for real fans of real metal. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has emerged to be one of the most prominent Eastern Canadian metal bands.
Annihilating the masses with their three previous full lengths “Prototype” (2013), “Fracture” (2010) and “Prologue” (2009), INSURRECTION is ready to once again push their metal to blasphemous levels with their next release “Extraction”. Crushing audiences across the globe with their driving force and energetic stage presence, Melbourne thrashers MASON deliver commanding performances that has taken them on tours across Australia and beyond in Asia, Europe plus Canada where they have shared the stage with the likes of Harlott, Havok, Accept, Revocation, Mutank and Annihilator.
Drawing influence from The Big Four and The Bay Area, MASON encapsulates the 80′s thrash sound mixed with fast tempos and a dominating rhythm section. Their second full length “Impervious” features nine glorious thrashing tracks mixed and mastered by Erin Hamidovic (Devin Townsend Project, Sikth, Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Elm Street). Unleashing their latest EP “Broken” last week via Collective Wave Records, Seattle groove metallers ARISEN FROM NOTHING have posted a teaser for their forthcoming music video “Chaos”, which can be viewed at the following link below. Inspired by Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, ARISEN FROM NOTHING’s sound can be best described as “aggressive, driving, groovy, powerful, brutal”. Their new EP draws influence from the state of the world around us and is a strident call for unity.
Guitarist Troy Elmore comments:
“There’s a lot of subject matter fans should be able to relate to so I’m hoping it will be received well. Fans will appreciate the new AFN sound, and new direction the band is going in. We wanted songs that had moments of musical complexity but maintain a groove that gets your toes tapping and your head banging.”
