One Man Studio Band NATE BOHNET Premieres “Therapeutic Destruction” via New Noise Mag

“Therapeutic Destruction” Out Feb 16th

Nate Bohnet – Photo Credit: Brittany Boles

One man studio artist and Nuclear Oath bassist NATE BOHNET is ready to reveal his debut solo album “Therapeutic Destruction” all recorded, mixed and mastered with his producer touch at his Medicine Hat, AB based Octave Studios.  Sharing with the world his emotional, groovy, melodic, organic, and therapeutic sounds, this is music cut from the very heart, a sonic sampling of a man’s soul, and while such cuts are deep and painful, the art created thereof is that of pain purged, for creator and listener alike, a symbiotic salvation if you will. Having lost his parents as a very young child; Nate has truly experienced what he writes about.

Teaming up with New Noise Magazine, NATE BOHNET is premiering the full stream for his 14 heartfelt heavy tracks for its official release on February 16th.

Listen at the following link: http://newnoisemagazine.com/stream-nate-bohnet-therapeutic-destruction/

NATE BOHNET comments:

“This album is centred around the concept that music is therapy. We all go through times in our lives where nothing seems to make sense, everything is on the edge, and you don’t know what will happen next. We have all loved, laughed, lost, and experienced tremendous grief and joy in our time alive. ‘Therapeutic Destruction’ means harnessing all the negative energy that comes into your life, and unleashing it in music that some might consider destructive. I felt that the title fits the main idea of the album; using music as a way of therapy and harnessing it in such a way as to allow myself to deal with aspects of my life, and if one song reaches you and connects with you; it has done its job. The overarching message is that regardless of all these low points in our lives, all we have to do is push forward and strive. The only thing holding you back is your mind.”

“Therapeutic Destruction” is available for download on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and all other major online retailers.

PUREST OF PAIN (Featuring Members of DELAIN) Premiere Video “The Solipsist” via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Solipsis” Out March 1, 2018

L-R – Frank van Leeuwen – Bass, J.D. Kaye - Vocals, Merel Bechtold – Guitars, Michael van Eck – Guitars, Joey de Boer – Drums

Dutch melodic death metal band PUREST OF PAIN will be the releasing their debut album “Solipsis” on March 1st, 2018 to follow their 2013 single “Momentum” and 2011 EP “Revelations In Obscurity”.

Lead by guitarist and main songwriter Merel Bechtold of DELAIN, whom also performs in much respected bands MaYaN and The Gentle Storm/Anneke van Giersbergen, the energetic quintet from Holland, which now includes DELAIN drummer Joey de Boer is a force to be reckoned with. Combining Scandinavian metal influences with groove, ambiance, tone and melody, the band has teamed up with NoCleanSinging.com for the North American premiere of their lyric video and second single “The Solipsist”.

Check out the “The Solipsist” at the following link: http://www.nocleansinging.com/2018/02/16/an-ncs-video-premiere-purest-of-pain-the-solipsist/

Seven years in the making, from the writing process up to the final mastering to launching a successful online crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo (raising over 18,000 Euros, thank you video here), along with increasing their funds through live performances, which saw them open for such bands as Opeth, Textures, Suicide Silence, Unearth and Attack Attack! plus an unforgettable slot at Wacken in 2014. “Solipsis” is 14 tracks of brutality blended with groove and emotion produced by Merel Bechtold with recording done at Mantis Audio Studio (Delain) and mastering by Jens Jorgen (Opeth, Arch Enemy, Soilwork).

Guitarist Merel Bechtold comments:

“‘Solipsis’ is a guitar oriented record, is has been recorded as organic as possible: partly at home, partly at Mantis Audio Studio. The song ‘E.M.D.R.’ is written by fellow guitarist Michael van Eck. All the other songs were summoned by myself. The lyrics are written by vocalist J.D. Kaye. And even though the music is at times technical and challenging, it’s undeniably driven by relentless groove, enhanced by hugely melodic passages, wonderful tone and moments of ambient clarity.”

“Solipsis” will be available on CD, Vinyl plus as a digital release and is available for pre-order here. Their single “Terra Nil” is available for download and stream on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Deezer.

The CD and Vinyl versions have slightly altered artwork. Merel Bechtold was responsible for its concept and bass player Frank van Leeuwen designed and finalized the covers.

“There are few surprises here on Solipsis, it’s solid & enjoyable melodic metal that provides memorable enough heavy riffs, nasty throat-scratching vocals & a melodic tone that is ear-pleasing.” – Games, Braaains & A Head-Banging Life

“This is an a 14 track album full of nonstop heavy metal with clean and unclean vocals. The guitar work is absolutely outstanding. This album is a must for any fan of  European metal, in fact it is a must for all metal fans.” – Baby Dolls And Razor Blades

“a great ride and a great album to listen to. I highly recommend picking this album up and giving it a listen. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and find you have purchased one hell of a good album.” Cascadia Fusion Music News

“Deeply impressed by this band.” – Rock Portaal

“Do not let the youthful appearance of PUREST OF PAIN fool you is the first thing to notice about this band. After a short intro, PUREST OF PAIN kicks off this metal evening with ‘The sickening reality’ from their debut EP ‘Revelations of Obscurity’. Blasting drums, raging guitars and roaring grunts characterize their music… fans of death metal should keep their ears and eyes open for PUREST OF PAIN in the future!” Reflections of Darkness (Live Review 2012)

Instrumental Prog Metal THE DEAD CENTURIES Premiere “Reboot” Guitar Playthrough via GearGods

Debut Album “Race Against Time” Out Now!

L-R – Jacob McSheffrey – Guitar , Bryant McNamara – Drums, Adam Tremblett – Guitar (Photo Credit: Adrienne Row-Smith)

Unleashing their debut album “Race Against Time” this past January, Ottawa’s instrumental progressive metal trio THE DEAD CENTURIES’ full length features ten tracks of melodic, high energy and refreshing material. Influenced by Protest The Hero, Periphery, Paul Gilbert, Sithu Aye and Intervals, their release is full of hook and sinker compositions, shining guitar riffs and overall escapades through their instrumental progressive metal. Teaming up with GearGods.net, THE DEAD CENTURIES are showcasing their shredding chops with their fist guitar playthrough for “Reboot”.

“Reboot follows our second track “Gotham” on the release, but incorporates heavier elements bridging melodic sections. Near the end, Reboot features a harmonized lead section, which then continues with a harmonized guitar solo over top. The main idea is to bombard the listener with fast, melodic, dense, energy before closing with a chorus, which doesn’t give the listener the expected harmonic resolution.” comments guitarist Adam Tremblett.

“Race Against Time” is available on Bandcamp, iTunes and Google Play.

About:

Visionary and highly influential writer Michael Moorcock, who worked with the bands Hawkwind and Blue Oyster Cult, memorably stated that ‘it is the business of the future to be dangerous’.

Ottawa three-piece THE DEAD CENTURIES are both futuristic and dangerous…which is as it should be. Influenced by Protest The Hero, Periphery, Paul Gilbert, Sithu Aye and Intervals, THE DEAD CENTURIES can easily hold their heads up in such exalted company.

Composing and performing technically precise instrumental progressive metal, THE DEAD CENTURIES are rich in virtuosity, melody, compositional skills, and most importantly…they create superb music to listen to. This isn’t the sound of three musicians showing off their undoubted skills, rather they are serving their songs above all else, with every fibre of their beings, every neuron firing in their minds, every tendon in their bodies. In a sense it is as if the three musicians that make up THE DEAD CENTURIES have become one mind in their own music. Their debut album “Race Against Time” was released on January 26th, 2018.

“High energy instrumental metal, The Dead Centuries are all about massive hooks, futuristic riffs & technical melody. Opener Freddie Lounds is rich in skill, showcasing how a trio’s different abilities can combine to make something that sounds so grand & complete.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“they’re not here to show you their muscles, but to share their record collection with you through a bright, pacey, grinning album that deserves every spin. Ace.” – Overdrive Mag

“Race Against Time features ten tracks of high energy material that would be an ideal piece to add to the collection of any fan of progressive metal.” – Pure GrainAudio

Out Now! Test Your Metal Records Release Mumbai Rock n’ Rollers OVERHUNG “Moving Ahead”

Test Your Metal Records is proud to announce the North American re-release of Mumbai rock ‘n rollers OVERHUNG’s debut album “Moving Ahead”, out now as of February 16, 2018. Influenced by Poison, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin , OVERHUNG‘s sound is all about loud, fun, sex, rum and rock ‘n’ roll. The full length is an electrifying 10 tracks capturing the band’s infectious energy that’s ready to blast from the stereo speakers and give fans that classic glam rock n’ roll feel of the 70’s and 80’s.  In their native country of India, the Mumbai rock band has been garnering praise along with their straight to the point lyrics about sex and more sex that they feel is still a topic too taboo to be spoken of.

The band comments:

“‘Moving Ahead’ is a culmination of several things. Our vocalist Sujit had recently moved to the US so we would be recording and mixing without him. We had several issues with our mixing engineer, deaths in the family, injuries etc. Despite all the hindrances, once we heard the finished product, we were sure that we had the right album title for our debut. When we first released ‘Moving Ahead’ in India, there were a lot of folks whom raised their eyebrows with our song titles like ‘Sex Machine’ and ‘Casual Bitch’ so we look forward to its North American reception.”

“Moving Ahead” is now available for download and full stream at the following link on Bandcamp: https://overhungofficial.bandcamp.com

OVERHUNG‘s first single “Sex Machine” is streaming at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqRB3D9kRAY

Track Listing:

1. Sex Machine (3:42)
2. Insane (6:38)
3. Waiting (5:10)
4. I Don’t Believe Her (6:08)
5. Through The Slime (5:01)
6. Waste (5:44)
7. I Am I (6:02)
8. Must Drink (4:15)
9. Casual Bitch (5:06)
10. You Think You’re So Cool (2:20)

About:
The steel seeds of hard rockin’ music find fertile ground all over the world. All races and religions embrace it. Music should become the new worldwide religion; we’d have moshing instead of wars! Good times!

The love of music is strong in India, and stronger than all in the splendidly named OVERHUNG who hail from Mumbai! The band owe their name to unique vocalist Sujit Kumar who changed Hungover to Overhung…which speaks even more volumes than their music!

OVERHUNG are making the most debauched melodic hard rock since Guns ‘n’ Roses released their classic ‘Appetite For Destruction’. With a successful debut full length ‘Moving Ahead’ under their belts set to be re-released in 2018 via Canadian label Test Your Metal Records, great live shows, and a planned follow up single entitled ‘King of Dreams’, OVERHUNG are ready to offer the world killer sounds coming straight outta India!

Influenced by Poison, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin , guitarist Howard Pereira describes their sound as “loud, fun, sex, rum…rock ‘n’ roll! We are about devolution not evolution! We are still doing late 80s and 90s rock!”

Pereira explains the very reason for OVERHUNG’s creation was when the members jammed “the energy was infectious and all of us wanted to write more kick-ass music with together…We hope that people are open to hearing our music in 2017. The band’s music is largely arena rock sounding, so at live gigs people just lose it and have a blast!”

You have to see OVERHUNG play because they have “insane live energy! Quite frankly there is no one like Sujit Kumar when it comes to live performances. He is shameless and you can’t take your eyes off him. His antics include table dancing, interacting with women (and men too sometimes), climbing everything in sight from light poles to bartops! It is engaging for the audiences. Also we deliver tight and fun glam-rockish sets that go down well!”

– 30 –

“A GREAT ALBUM by a band who learned the lesson from the Hard Rock Masters but looking to the future!” – Hard Rock Heavy Metal

“Opening up with the catchy number “Sex Machine”, Overhung’s debut album is a good first effort and should appeal to fans of Poison, Kiss, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses.” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

“Ten songs party addicted influenced by the 70’s and 80’s hard rock, the album itself is a thrilling work with glam rock lines.” – Rockers and Other Animals Mag

“They embody the sex, drugs and rock n roll attitude and spirt with songs like “Sex Machine”, “Must Drink” and “Casual Bitch”. The whole album rock’s from start to finish. These guys know what rock n roll is all about and without a doubt are on a mission to bring it back to the world. Get this album you won’t be disappointed. With bands like Overhung rock n roll will truly never die!!!” – The Dirty Room

Recently signing to Vancouver, BC’s TEST YOUR METAL RECORDS this past December, North Carolina sci-fi metallers XAEL have their next track offering “In The Hallows of Pathos” as part of their forthcoming sci-fi adventure album “The Last Arbiter”.

The track follows their previously unleashed story singles “Apathy of the Immortal”, “Watchers of Xan”, “SRAI (Chained to the Demon of Erring)“, which are available for free download on bandcamp here.

Teaming up with SkullsnBones.com, XAEL is premiering “In The Hallows of Pathos” at the following link: https://skullsnbones.com/xael-debut-hollows-pathos-new-album/

The band comments:

“Our music represents a dual mission in terms of its purpose. The songs represent both the Sci-fi lore and serve as a conduit for our own emotions and life endeavors. “In The Hollows of Pathos” is about the immortal’s specific weakness, which we call ‘soul sickness’. This temporarily renders him unconscious and vulnerable as his immortality is only so, if he is in a conscious state.  Chained to him is ancient and insidious entity from antiquity that hungers to feed on his life essence as such he has to strive to overcome such. The song represents depression and the need to grow and overcome it as a disease.”

Founded by Nassaru of Rapheumets Well/Enthean as well as Sorgiem “Daniel Presnell,” Tuurm “Alex Rush” from Enthean, and Xolotl “Fernando Ortega”, XAEL’s science fiction experience “Last Arbiter” is set for later release in 2018 via Test Your Metal Records. The overall summary of the album is the sky ghost, the wayfarer, the shadow of time, the exile; in which the many names he is called by yet for the Immortal, he is cursed to traverse the cosmos aimlessly, searching for an unattainable purpose. Chained to him is a beast, a demon from antiquity who the Immortal keeps as a reminder of his past.

In additional news, XAEL‘s debut live performance will be as local support for the Septic Flesh, Dark Funeral andThy Antichrist North American tour stop in Spartanburg, SC on March 13th.

(Bio written by Steve Earles)About:

From Rush to Voivod, the Science-Fantasy album has long been an integral part of the heavy metal cannon; now; carrying this proud tradition into the 21st century is XAEL! Make no mistake; they will remake the metal world!

Influenced by Septic Flesh, Iron Maiden, Augury, Wardruna and Fleshgod Apocalypse, vocalist / guitarist Nassaru describes XAEL’s music as “a thought provoking metal journey.”

XAEL have a unique approach to releasing their music to debut them in 2018, as Nassaru explains.

“We will have eight songs standard and two instrumental tracks. Instead of releasing an album upfront, we want fans to share in our progress in a musical series, releasing two songs a month to allow more time for fans to appreciate the work and for us to best represent the songs in some form of art to convey the entirety of our vision….The album series is called ‘The Last Arbiter’, referring to the protagonist’s mission in the story and his pursuit of an unattainable purpose in pacifying the destructive nature of the sentient world.”

Upon the corridors of the Tymeer capitol the Immortal presents his seemingly profound doctrine called the “Compendium of Ethical Symbiosis”, which outlines a harmonious way of governing and regulating the various civilizations under the ruling regime through casting down warmonger ideologies and laws that degrade the value of its species.

Though momentarily entertained, the ruling counsel of Tymeer dismisses the wisdom of the wayfarer. Passing through the city gates tired and morally degraded, the Immortal along with his insidiously chained demon wanders into the wastelands of Tymeer. It is here that his journey begins.

XAEL have equally original and grandiose ideas for their live shows as they do in their creative song writing.

“This is what we are crafting as we speak. We are returning to the roots of metal; not just the music, but the visuals to accompany it. We will be representing the story live to its fullest. Let’s just say you may see some odd things from fire dancing and cultural rituals, to a spear dance and even a gladiator-style tournament!”

Nassaru is stoked for the world to hear XAEL.

“It will be different and very diverse, but at its core it is extreme metal, melodies in abundance, and storytelling bard style! So I believe it will be refreshing…something different combining symphonic and folk elements with brutal metal…We want to paint a soundscape, a myriad of imaginative and diverse environments while exploring the complications of being sentient and self-aware.”

XAEL was founded by Nassaru of Rapheumets Well/Enthean as well as Sorgiem “Daniel Presnell,” Tuurm “Alex Rush” from Enthean, and Xolotl “Fernando Ortega” and features various guest artists.
