NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 24, 2018

For Fans of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, HammerFall, Manowar, Saxon

SONIC PROPHECY Posts New Lyric Video “Man The Guns”

New Album “Savage Gods” Out Now! via Rockshots Records

American power metallers SONIC PROPHECY have posted a new lyric video for their track “Man The Guns” off their third full length “Savage Gods”unleashed via Rockshots Records this past January.

Watch it now at the following link:

“Savage Gods” follows SONIC PROPHECY‘s 2015 sophomore release “Apocalyptic Promenade” (Maple Metal Records), an album that combined the melody and beauty of symphonic power metal while maintaining the crunch, drive and power of traditional metal plus their 2011 debut “A Divine Act of War”, which had its music placed in the television series “Rock n’ Lock”, the video game “Volgarr the Viking” and movie Danny Trejo’s “Vengeance”.

This latest album “Savage Gods” lyrically covers many topics, from quests and medieval wars, to mechanized genocide, to the dangers associated with extremist ideologies. Broadening and stretching their musical palate, “Savage Gods” will give fans an adventurous listening experience.  It’s an album that combines melodic hard rock, driving heavy metal, and chest pounding anthems in a way that is uniquely Sonic Prophecy.

“We think our fans will love this album! Savage Gods, as a record, basically combines all of the things I think people liked about our previous releases and then moves us forward into new areas musically and lyrically. For our fans, there will be no mistaking this is Sonic Prophecy, but we definitely cover some new exciting ground on this record. This is pure heavy metal with driving guitars, thundering drums, and some of what I feel is my best vocal work to date. With songs “Night Terror, “Unholy Blood” and the album title track, we’ve really laid down a brutal sonic backdrop, along with keeping the melody, which is important to our music.” says vocalist Shane Provstgaard

“Savage Gods” is available from Rockshots Records at the following link: http://smarturl.it/savagegods

“Enjoy 10 fist-pounding tracks rooted in traditional Heavy Metal melded with the symphonic beauty of Power Metal, courtesy of a band that has the purest form of heavy music running through their veins.” – The Headbanging Moose

“Spitting out earth shattering riffs, screeching solos & plenty of memorable hooks comes Savage Gods. An album with plenty of the old school about it in regards to the classic power/heavy metal style it adopts. Fans of Judas Priest will feel right at home.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“A fine album to start power metal season 2018!” – Lords of Metal

“This is a band very much drawing influence from timeless sources like Judas Priest, Queensryche and Hammerfall and “Savage Gods” sounds like a blending of all those bands. The production is big and bold, the musicianship is solid.” – Wormwood Chronicles

“This is something for every true fan of good old heavy metal.” – Hard Rock Info

“If you haven’t encountered Sonic Prophecy before, think a blending of bands such as Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Manowar, Blind Guardian, etc. In other words, very enjoyable heavy/power metal with some epic and symphonic streaks thrown into the mix…As far as I’m concerned Savage Gods is a pretty damn essential listen for any power metal fan.” – Wonderbox Metal

“Pure American steel hasn’t sounded this good in a while…Utah natives Sonic Prophecy are back with a third album, Savage Gods – and what a superb piece of work it is too…” – Sentinel Daily

Toronto groove metal four-piece VODNIK will be unleashing their debut music video “Our Dread, Our Joy” in the coming weeks and before they set the world ablaze they are sharing with metal fans a little taste of what’s to come in a new teaser that can be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/v8olzP58iks

Approaching the genre with a blend of heavier and lighter styles, which range from technical metal riffs, to spooky mellow passages, to hardcore breakdowns, VODNIK balance their metal between progressive grooves and dark atmospheres to establish a sound that is both bizarre and ominous yet catchy and memorable. With this formula, VODNIKaspires to grab the attention of a wider audience.

Drawing their name and lyrical themes from the mythological Czech creature, guitarist Jeremy Jackson explains:

“In Czech, Vodnik roughly translates to ‘of water’. I adopted the name for us because it is a widely celebrated mythological creature from my Czech heritage. Vodnik is gruesome, perfect for metal and what we want to do with it.”

Vocalist Reinier Vandenbosch adds:

“Lakes and rivers are its territory where it awaits to trap the souls of drowning victims. He is similar to the boogieman of the English-speaking world that also scares children. I try to write the lyrics largely from the perspective of the Vodnik creature.”

Along with embracing themes centered around the creature, VODNIK is also inspired by science fiction and horror, social and political commentary, dark philosophical ideas, and other mythological stories. Citing a wide variety of musical influences, VODNIK is a legit, no nonsense, heavy band that brings a ferocious energy to the stage.

The band’s forthcoming debut single “Our Dread, Our Joy” is off their planned debut EP slated for later release in 2019.

Making an impact on the Canadian’s 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED have returned to cement and carry on their own legacy, with their new album “Saviours” featuring all new music to follow their EP “No Peace”, which featured tracks all written in the 80’s and only recently heard by fans in 2016. “Saviours” features eight tracks that are thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight.

Set to thrash world on fire with it’s release on Friday, May 25th, INFRARED have teamed up with MetalUndeground.com for the album’s full stream premiere at the following link:  http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=140316

Vocalist / guitarist Armin Kamal comments:

“Infrared is extremely excited to release our sophomore album “Saviours” to the world today. This has been in the works for about 2 years now and is something we are very proud of. “Saviours” has fulfilled a goal of ours to create some brand new music the way we know how, with an old school 80s thrash feel along with a contemporary sound that encompasses our influences beyond the 80s.

While not explicitly a concept album, the album is heavily themed on the idea of false “Saviours” who claim to do good for others but are really self serving in their intentions. We like to inspire independent thought and a cautious view of the intentions of those who promote themselves as leaders. This message has been captured with 8 brand new songs that highlight the diversity in which this band makes music. While all songs stay true to our roots, they each offer a piece of what Infrared has to offer our fans. From fast and thrashy to melodic and dramatic, “Saviours” delivers a punch from start to finish.”

“Saviours” will be available for download and stream as of May 25, 2018 on InfraredMetal.ca, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Bandcamp, CD Baby and all other major online retailers.

In additional news, INFRARED announces they will be local opening support for Flotsam and Jetsam on May 30th and Black Mass on June 29th.

(Bio written by Steve Earles)

– 30 –

“Straight up thrash metal with the heavy and fast riffs, pounding drums, and the thumping of the bass.” – Sleaze Roxx

“After sitting down and listening to Infrared’s ‘No Peace’ over a period of days, it’s safe to say that this is a solid thrash metal album that will easily please genre purists. It’s an aggressive offering, but it doesn’t take too many risks, nor does it have to. This band is extremely talented and this album is well worth your money.” – Metal At The Gates

“At times reminiscent of old school Metallica, sometimes Megadeth, sometimes something else entirely. In short, if you dig 80’s metal you should really give this album a listen. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I’m already looking forward to the next.” – Skull Banger

“No Peace grabs you by the balls from the first power chords of Inframental and doesn’t let up until the final note of In Search Of.” – Korea Guitar

“Overall, classic sounding, old school thrash metal from an era when thrash was still evolving, this album (No Peace) is a cracking introduction to the mid eighties thrash metal sound.” – Metal Gods TV

“For the sound and style, this is one of the top releases over the last year. The style was getting stale with many sound a-likes, now Infrared are here, so pick up your jaw and enjoy this bruiser of an album. “- Acier Doux Metal Management & Promotions Tunisia
