FRACTAL CYPHER’s Premiere New Track ‘The Grandeur of It All’ via Heavy Blog Is Heavy
Mini-Album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” Out Nov 8th
Music Video “From The Above And To The Stars”

Set to release their 4 song mini-album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation) this week on November 8th, Montreal prog quartet FRACTAL CYPHER are sharing with fans their next single ‘The Grandeur of It All’ via Heavy Blog Is Heavy at the following link: http://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2018/11/05/exclusive-premiere-fractal-cypher-introduce-you-to-the-grandeur-of-it-all/
“‘The Grandeur of It All’ is definitely more energetic and straight forward, with back beats on drums, rock n roll riffs on guitars and catchy vocal lines in choruses and verses. There’s a “bluesy” vibe in the song that is quite obvious all the way through, but we keep it progressive in terms of the song structure, dynamics and tempo changes. ‘Let’s have fun!’ is the mood of this song.” explains guitarist Vincent Bruneau.
The band’s new mini-album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” promises to be a roller coaster of genres across completely different sounding songs with intimate lyrics influenced by personal experiences. Each track has a different prominent genre influence from power ballad, blues, djent and jazz with the band’s heavy and melodic base as an anchor. The album artwork was done by Silent Q Design out of Montreal and foreshadows the moody and existential prog metal that lies within. Although this album is more intimate with different textures and influences, the reception to its predecessor should be a prime indication of the talents of FRACTAL CYPHER; this next release is sure to be a masterwork.
The band adds:
“’Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ is a mini album of 4 songs that are completely different from one to another to create a maximum roller coaster effect and make it non linear and interesting to listen to. The clash of style is more important and more obvious than our previous album, but the songs have gained in maturity in term of songwriting and sound. The vibe of this mini-album is really more intimate, due to the lyrics and the overall ambiance/universe of the songs. The melodic side of the band is still really present, offering catchy vocal lines and outstanding solos all over the songs.”
“Prelude To An Impending Outcome” is available for pre-order on the band’s Bandcamp here.

Track Listing:
1. Coming Back To Life (10:13)
2. The Grandeur Of It All (6:52)
3. From The Above And To The Stars (8:04)
4. Red Lady (9:30)
Mini-Album Length: 34:30

Fractal Cypher exists to captivate audiences with progressive instrumentals that cut through the mesmerizing vocals and provide a new perspective on each listen. Straight out of the heart of Canada’s metal scene, these Montreal metallers constantly shift their compositions with seamless transitions and theatrical interludes to keep audiences on their toes.
Since 2014, Simon Lavoie (vocals), Ludovick Daoust (keyboard), Vincent Bruneau (guitar), Tommy Fradette (bass) and Steven Cope (drums) have been committed to a constant evolution; the powerful quintet is just as versatile in their music as they are in their musical interests, darting between djent and classic rock whilst anchoring on a power and death metal core.
Their debut album ‘The Human Paradox’ was released in September of 2016, with the follow up mini-album ‘Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ slated to be revealed in November of 2018.

NEWS RELEASE

Glasgow Prog Rockers ATLAS : EMPIRE Track Premiere “As Yet Unwritten” via RebelNoise
New Album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” Out December 7th
Music Video “Hostess”

L-R – Robert Hasebe (Bassist), Jamie Sturt (Guitar and Vocals), Steven Gillies (Guitar and Vocals)
Glasgow’s ATLAS : EMPIRE will be releasing their new album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” on December 7th, 2018. Weaving their way between the multitudes of different genres that influence them, the trio visit the worlds of heavy progressive rock and expansive ambient shoegaze. Having already shared two music videos “Hostess” and “Gethsemane” in support of the upcoming release, the band is premiering the album’s opener “As Yet Unwritten” on RebelNoise.com at the following link: http://www.rebelnoise.com/articles/song-premiere-as-yet-unwritten-by-atlas-empire.
Guitarist Steven Gillies comments:
“As Yet Unwritten” is one of the most uplifting songs on the album – from the major key arpeggios in the verse, via the fuzzy 5/4 lead riff to a massive chorus. Lyrically, it deals with insights of a possible future and the different stages of acceptance & adaptation to “the end of the world”.
Since forming in 2011, ATLAS : EMPIRE have enjoyed success both through their recordings and several tours crossing the UK, the EU and Eastern Canada, including performing at Indieweek in Toronto.
To date the band has released 3 EPs, “To The Astronaut…” (2012); “Somnus” (2013) and “For the Satellites” (2015) with “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” as their 2018 debut full length.
An ambitious album, the band is eager to get “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” into the ears of their fans.
Gillies adds:
“The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” is a concept album, based around humanity’s growing reliance on technology and specifically how society falls apart when that fails us. We wrote each song like a chapter in a book, both musically and lyrically, to follow that narrative.”

“A lesson in progressive rock” – Rocksound (UK)
“The band show an impressive versatility throughout the record as they straddle various genres with ease. Post-hardcore sits neatly alongside the Maybeshewill inspired post-rock…” – abadgeoffriendship.com
“They hit you with a wall of sound, that has a slightly Math feel to it. The tracks have a lot of overlapping phrases, but with darker tones to the guitars, it almost feels like Deftones and Arcane Roots had a lovechild and raised it in ‘Bonnie’. Both vocalists lighten the mood and play upon a subtle gaelic charm in between tracks…There’s just the right level of melody combined with guitar-wrecking aggression for them to stand out in the Glasgow scene.” – threesongsandout.com

Recently releasing their latest album “Restless Dreams” this past October on Rockshots Records, Hamilton, ON based horror influenced symphonic power metallers MALACODA are premiering their new music video “I Got A Letter” via PureGrainAudio.com. The track is a re-imagining from the original recording on the band’s 2016 EP ‘Ritualis Aeterna’. It is stripped back from the embellishments and presented as it was originally intended; a dynamic and moody listening experience with melodic flourishes.
Watch it now at the following link on PureGrainAudio: https://puregrainaudio.com/videos/malacoda-can-t-shake-their-restless-dreams-with-the-new-i-got-a-letter-music-video-exclusive-premiere
Inspired by the horror video game “Silent Hill 2”, “Restless Dreams” is a musical journey through dark tormented themes of doubt, loss, guilt and terror. The plot of the album follows a broken man’s journey through the ghost town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his dead wife asking him to meet her there. MALACODA brings a fresh interpretation of these themes and artfully bring to life the oppressive, claustrophobic aura of the fog consumed town with deviously clever song-writing and mind-catching lyrics. “Restless Dreams” is a musical release unlike any other. Fans and new listeners alike, prepare for an atmospheric and melodic metal descent into a world of horror and despair. “Restless Dreams” was masterfully mixed by Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Imonolith).
