The latest single from Finnish group MEMOREMAINS “Turn” is now available as of October 31, 2018. With a highlight on keyboard elements, it’s a hybrid of progressive metal with a touch of a synth pop feeling. It is heavy yet soothing; dark, yet dancy.

Mixing heavy symphonic metal, disco and pop elements, in the two years since their conception, MEMOREMAINS have created a recognizable sound that stands apart from similar artists in the genre. The solid balance between the vocals and instruments form a multilayered approach that enhances the various melodies and compliments the deeper complexities of the track.

The band’s music video in support of the single is a juxtaposition of an epic and fun chorus set against a hopeless backdrop illustrating the desperation in their lyrics. Expanding on those lyrics, vocalist Johanna explains:

“They come from everyday situations combined to a profound theme. It’s hard to say one thing, but when I start to write, I usually get the idea from discussions with other people. As well the idea can pop up from the news. When I begin to write, the structure of the song is normally ready, so, the ambiance of the music can also inspire.”

The single was produced and mixed by Atte O. Pohjonen; mastered by Samu Oittinen with the artwork and music video done by Riku-Pekka Lappalainen.

With an EP under their belts, along with several singles, MEMOREMAINS is a band to watch for as they are currently delving into touring plans and creating more music.

“TURN” music video can be viewed at

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 31, 2018

For fans of Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, In Flames

DECATUR To Play At Toronto’s Indie Week

Debut Album “Badder Than Brooklyn” Out Now!

Produced By Gojira’s Joe Duplantier

Coming off their October “Buried Out Back” Ontario tour, Canadian metal messiahs DECATUR are not ones to stop when it’s all about performing for a crowd. Featuring a live line up with founding vocalist and guitarist Jay Sarrazin joined by members from Imperion, Caym, Threat Signal, Jungle Rot, DECATUR is proud to announce they will hitting the stage once again in their hometown of Toronto for Indie Week, one of the country’s biggest music showcase and conference for independent artists. DECATUR is scheduled to perform on Wednesday, November 7th at the Bovine alongside Kill No Albatross (Burlington, ON), Our Father Star (Toronto, ON), CRNKSHFT (Vancouver, BC) / DRAFT (Toronto, ON), The Ocean Cure (Toronto, ON), Bad Communicators (Edmonton, AB). Full show details can be found here. More info on Indie Week can be found at http://canada.indieweek.com.

“We are really excited to be playing Indie Week at the Bovine Sex Club on Wednesday November 7th. Indie Week has been a great contribution and alleyway for Indie artists to get great exposure and they work hard at showcasing all the talent they work with. We couldn’t be more excited to play Indie week this year. This show I’ll have a great lineup of musicians playing with me including Aiden Keenan of Imperion, Anthony Zhura of Caym and Joey Muha of Threat Signal/Jungle Rot. This was the lineup from our recently completed “Buried Out Back” Tour. Don’t miss this killer lineup for this great event” says Sarrazin.

Watch touring drummer Joey Muha “Tear You” a new one in his latest slaying drum video:

DECATUR‘s debut album “Badder Than Brooklyn” released last year during October 2017 was produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira and is all-killer, no filler! It doesn’t hide behind its production; it compliments it. All the songs on the album are truly about power and empowerment, a clarion call for strength in life’s battles…healing through headbanging. From the power shredding of “Into The Night” and the storytelling of the album’s title track “Badder Than Brooklyn” to the brutal beat down of songs like “Bottled Inside” and “Internal War” to “Worst Enemy” about the fight against depression, DECATUR feel modern metal has lost its way and they’re here to provide the road map forward to the future! Make no mistake, DECATUR are a band that puts the grit into integrity, as guitarist/vocalist Jay ‘Beard’ Sarrazin says, DECATUR make “real metal for real metalheads.”

“Badder Than Brooklyn is one of those wonderful albums that will give you little to complain about…one of the best heavy metal releases this year. Shatterproof & Internal War Pt. 2 confirm this with the former a very traditional & groove-layered slab while the latter goes for a more melodic approach.” Games, Brrrains & A Head-Banging Life

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a solid debut album of modern metal that’s worth seeking out.” – Heavy Metal HQ

“Great for a pounding run or a body-wrecking workout, Badder Than Brooklyn will satisfy fans of metal, hard rock, or good old-fashioned rock and roll.” – Shockwave Mag

“The energy in the room was electrifying, and it was impossible not to mosh and head bang with intense vigour. The band’s connection on stage was infectious, as it was obvious that these guys loved what they were doing and loved doing it together.” – The Phoenix News – Live Review – Kelowna, BC

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a formidable effort by these talented newcomers. Considering the fact that this is their debut album, I most certainly think that they have nailed it. With memorable and we’ll crafted songwriting, if these guys keep up their work I see a bright future ahead if them. Undoubtedly an album that I will recommend for all Thrash/Groove Metal enthusiasts. That being said I hope they will come back even stronger in their sophomore effort for which I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.” – Metal Centre

“Toronto-based Decatur, with their debut release Badder Than Brooklyn, has created a metal album for metal’s sake, a traditionally fast, heavy riffing, drivingly intense set of tunes to be included on an FM radio station in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto playing between Megadeth’s “Holy War…The Punishment Due”, Metallica’s “Battery”, and right after Pantera’s “Walk”.” – Canadian Beats

Decibel Mag Premiere THE GREAT SABATINI Video “You’re Gonna Die (Unsatisfied)”

New Album “Goodbye Audio” Out Nov 16th

Ontario + Quebec Tour Dates

Since forming in Montreal, Canada in late 2007, The Great Sabatini has released four EPs and four full length albums, and logged seemingly endless tour dates around North America and Europe. The music is an aggressive mixture of noise rock, doom, hardcore, and metal wrapped up in a burly sludge aesthetic.

After working together for 11 years, the band has refined their heartfelt noisy sludge to perfection. Their upcoming album “Goodbye Audio” due out November 16th, 2018 is a prime example of the harmony and aptitude that can only come from over a decade of being together; it’s a more robust and evolved sound, but still maintaining the caustic energy they had when they started.

Teaming up with Decibel Magazine, the quartet have a new video to share “You’re Gonna Die (Unsatisfied)”.

“You’re Gonna Die (Unsatisfied)” is about dealing with an addiction to one’s own work ethic. You can work at making yourself better at something, but there will never be enough time to reach perfection. This thought came from watching an interview with Japanese tattoo master Horyoshi III. To me, the idea boiled down to the inevitability of death vs. the desire to create things and get better at it. Resigning myself to death and the simple fact that I’ll never achieve the level of craft I strive for during my lifetime can be either freeing or oppressive, depending on what side of the bed I wake up on, I guess. Our friend Garth at Troublelight Pictures shot and edited the video for us. It’s a straight up performance video, but he made us look cool and the video has a dark timbre to it.” says guitarist / vocalist Sean Sabatini.

Watch the video at the following link: https://www.decibelmagazine.com/2018/10/30/watch-the-great-sabatini-know-youre-gonna-die-unsatisfied/

The band adds about “Goodbye Audio”:

“We’re trying to give people a raw-ass document of abrasive sludge and noise rock in the most hi-fi package possible. We’re not interested in polish or smoothing over any rough edges… just achieving something of high sonic quality that presents the band that we are today…”

“Goodbye Audio” will be available on vinyl from No List Records, Ancient Temple Records and No Why Records. Cassette version from Pink Lemonade and features an exclusive bonus track “Drain The Swamp” only available on that format. Digital download and album pre-order available on TGS’ Bandcamp here.

0 FALLEN LEGION Premiere “Way Out” Drum Playthrough via Technical Music Review; New EP “Downfall” Out Now!

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 30, 2018

For fans of Veil of Maya, Between The Buried And Me, Protest The Hero

FALLEN LEGION Premiere “Way Out” Drum Playthrough via Technical Music Review

New EP “Downfall” Out Now!

Canadian whiplash tyrants FALLEN LEGION have teamed up with Technical Music Review to showcase drummer Dylan Waybrant’s new playthrough for the band’s track “Way Out” off their latest EP “Downfall” released this past May.

Waybrant comments:

“Way Out is easier than it looks, but harder than it sounds.  The opening drum beat was fun to put together and I don’t normally have to notate my music to understand it.”

Watch Waybrant show off his skills at the following link: https://technicalmusicreview.com/2018/10/30/fallen-legion-way-out-official-drum-playthrough-premiere/

FALLEN LEGION‘s latest EP “Downfall” (which peaked #7 on the Top 20 July 2018 Canadian College Radio Loud Charts) features six energetic, unorthodox, progressive, spirited and memorable tracks plus guest vocals and keyboard from Cradle of Filth‘s Lindsay Schoolcraft on “New Skin”. The EP follows FALLEN LEGION‘s two well-received demo EPs “Screams From The Dungeon” (2012) and “Infinite Archive” (2015). Consisting of Nick Sauter on guitars, Jon Kal on bass, Josh Masterson on vocals and Dylan Waybrant on drums, the band presents an eclectic metal brigade of influences from Gojira, Korn, Iron Maiden, Dethlok and Antonio Vivaldi.

The band comments:

“This EP is about dealing with stress- mortal blows, drugs, thoughts of suicide, the inner struggle, and the wrath of it all. The EP represents the outcome of painful experiences. Songs like ‘Escapegoat’ deal with not being able to handle the consequences of one’s actions and pushing them onto those weaker than yourself, and ‘Monster Reborn’-about letting the guilt build up inside, trapping one within their own mental anguish.”

#7 FALLEN LEGION on Top 20 July 2018 Canadian College Radio Loud Charts (Earshot)

“Downfall is an impressive effort…Their musicianship is first class…” – Hellbound

“The band brings and fuses influences from Gojira, Korn, Iron Maiden, and Dethlok with its deeper lyricism and heavier tunes. The EP has something for all metal fans. ” – Canadian Beats

“If you are interested in bands such as Veil of Maya, Between The Buried And Me, Protest The Hero then you really ought to seek these guys out. If they can produce an EP of this quality when they are unsigned just what are they going to be doing then they have a label behind them?” – Frame Music Mag

“Like a cocktail of the idiosyncrasies of metal’s greatest eccentrics, Fallen Legion’s debut EP caters firmly to fans of the weirder shades of the genre. As easily comparable at one moment to System Of A Down as it is to Between The Buried And Me at another, ‘Downfall’ blends its frenetic savagery with an underlying wackiness to satisfying effect…With multiple listens bearing increasing rewards, Fallen Legion is a name to remember for anyone whose musical tastes teeter on the edge of sanity.” – Uber Rock

“Fallen Legion have proven their aggression, established their fluidity in the metal genres and now I just cannot wait to see how they progress as a band over the coming years.” – Overdrive Music Mag

SHORT BIO:
Hellnite is a heavy metal project that was founded in 2010 in Mexico City by Paolo Belmar (vocals and guitar) originally playing covers of early influences, heavyweights including Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth. In 2011 and 2012 they began experimenting with various sounds and playing local events in their home city and their recognizable, heavy original music in the style of Kreator, Slayer and Death was lapped up by fans. The first EP “Manipulator” was debuted in 2013 and shortly after, the band ultimately dissolved and Belmar moved to Canada. A metal fan from a young age determined to keep his project going, Belmar continued to work on the project in his new home of Edmonton, Canada. Working diligently, he performed all the parts for the second album, “Midnight Terrors” which will be released in February 2019. Dauntlessly carrying on, Hellnite now has a full lineup to play live and has been bringing their music to metalheads across Canada and plans to unleash the third album to compliment “Midnight Terrors” is underway.

LONG BIO:
Hellnite is a heavy metal project that was founded in 2010 in Mexico City by Paolo Belmar (vocals and guitar) with schoolmates Luis Mora (ex-bass) and Mauricio Salas (ex-drums). They originally started off playing covers of their early influences, heavyweights including Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth. A year later, they recruited Luiz Guzman (rhythm guitar) to the band and their sound began to narrow into an authentic form that would see them creating heavy original music in the style of Kreator, Slayer and Death. In 2011 and 2012 they began experimenting with various sounds and playing local shows, conventions, festivals and other events in their home city and their recognizable, heavy songs were lapped up by fans. The first EP “Manipulator” was debuted in 2013 and shortly after, Guzman parted ways with the band leaving Hellnite to become a power trio. Writing started for the next release but the band ultimately dissolved not long after and Belmar moved to Canada. A metal fan from a young age, determined to keep his project going, Belmar continued to work on the project in his new home of Edmonton, Canada. Working diligently, he performed all the parts for the second album, “Midnight Terrors” which will be released in February 2019. The full length paranormal and sci-fi themed concept album proves the growth of the project and leads the way for future releases as Belmar hints: “It’s basically an open door to the next stage of this project. I have been working on this album since 2014, and the next album will be completely different. This album I think will be well received from people who are into oldies and classic metal, I want to provoke curiosity; my purpose is to catch people’s attention so they can follow the next movements of the band, which are going to be a little bit twisted in comparison with Midnight Terrors.”

Dauntlessly carrying on, Hellnite now has a full lineup to play live and has been bringing their music to metalheads across Canada and plans to unleash the third album to compliment “Midnight Terrors” is underway.

My verdict on ‘Legend of the Starborn’… After listening to this album for a good week in multiple ways; earbuds, house stereo and in my car, it’s hot pick! I suggest that you get this one for your collection. You are going to hear many great elements in this album that just keep coming. Pay attention because you will find yourself saying, wait, what was that. Then going to back to hear part of an arrangement again. I did this on “Gates of Hell”. It has this almost Satrianistyle of playing that was really cool mixed in their sound! I really enjoyed this album. Definitely one I will be playing for a long time to come.

Montreal, QC – October 28, 2018

Inverse Records: Dive Into Longing With ATLAS (Finland) Through The New  Video for “Pareidolia”

European Tour w/ Monuments

The second video from Atlas’ new album ‘Primitive’ was released on October 5, 2018; the sixth track of the album ‘Pareidolia’ is a forlorn song full of emotion set against the aggressive and fast music Atlas has been gracing us with since their conception.

‘Pareidolia’ was released alongside the full length and both feature pristine production with melancholic lyrics and exquisite guitar tones. The pensive video is morose, but also conveys a sense of fortitude. It was filmed somewhere in Finland in June 2016 by Nikke Puskala and Patrik Nuorteva, and edited by Patrik Nuorteva and Tuomas Kurikka of Perish Films.

Watch ‘Pareidolia’ on YouTube:

The album was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki with audio engineer and producer Tuomas YliJaskari (Lost Society, Valkeat, etc.). The mixing and mastering took place in Sweden at Impact Studios by Buster Odeholm (Born of Osiris, Sworn In, Humanitys Last Breath, etc.). The album was released October 5th through Inverse Recordsand is available at the following links:
