L-R – Robert Hasebe (Bassist), Jamie Sturt (Guitar and Vocals), Steven Gillies (Guitar and Vocals)
Glasgow’s ATLAS : EMPIRE will be releasing their debut album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” on December 7th, 2018. Weaving their way between the multitudes of different genres that influence them, the trio visit the worlds of heavy progressive rock and expansive ambient shoegaze. Before their new album’s official release, they are sharing with fans its full stream via Prog Mag at the following link: https://www.loudersound.com/news/atlas-empire-stream-new-album-with-prog
Bassist Robert Hasebe comments:
“‘The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet’ is a concept album that explores what would happen to humanity if we became entirely reliant on technology/automation in every aspect of our lives – and more importantly, what happens when that system fails? Across its 10 tracks, we delve into different aspects of that very-possible future, with each song takes place before, during or after a mass technological collapse, from the perspective of a different ‘character’.”
“The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” will be available for download on stream on Bandcamp, iTunes and Spotify.
Since forming in 2011, ATLAS : EMPIRE have enjoyed success both through their recordings and several tours crossing the UK, the EU and Eastern Canada, including performing at Indieweek in Toronto.
To date the band has released 3 EPs, “To The Astronaut…” (2012); “Somnus” (2013) and “For the Satellites” (2015) with “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” as their 2018 debut full length.

“A lesson in progressive rock” – Rocksound (UK)
“fiery, soaring, and thought-provoking heavy prog-/post-rock” – Rebel Noise
“Atlas : Empire has produced an album that is glued with beautiful instrumental and chill vibes for a weekend unwind. Overall the album is definitely worth a listen if you are a fan of early Incubus, early Thrice, or Minus the Bear.” – Boston Rock Radio
“The band show an impressive versatility throughout the record as they straddle various genres with ease. Post-hardcore sits neatly alongside the Maybeshewill inspired post-rock…” – abadgeoffriendship.com
“They hit you with a wall of sound, that has a slightly Math feel to it. The tracks have a lot of overlapping phrases, but with darker tones to the guitars, it almost feels like Deftones and Arcane Roots had a lovechild and raised it in ‘Bonnie’. Both vocalists lighten the mood and play upon a subtle gaelic charm in between tracks…There’s just the right level of melody combined with guitar-wrecking aggression for them to stand out in the Glasgow scene.” – threesongsandout.com

0 FRACTAL CYPHER Announce Local Montreal Mini-Album Launch Jan 11th @ Foufounes Electriques

(contact info below)
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – December 6, 2018
For fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Scar Symmetry, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot
FRACTAL CYPHER Announce Local Montreal Mini-Album Launch Jan 11th @ Foufounes Electriques
Out Now! Mini-Album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome”
Music Video “From The Above And To The Stars”

Releasing their 4 song mini-album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” at the beginning of November, Montreal prog quartet FRACTAL CYPHER confirm they will be hosting their local CD album launch on January 11th, 2019 at the infamous Foufounes Electriques. Joining them on the line up will be a stack of talent from Montreal’s progressive metal scene with Darkeon, Unbeing, Moth and Unveil. Full details can be found here.

The band’s new mini-album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” was produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation) and promises to be a roller coaster of genres across completely different sounding songs with intimate lyrics influenced by personal experiences. Each track has a different prominent genre influence from power ballad, blues, djent and jazz with the band’s heavy and melodic base as an anchor. The album artwork was done by Silent Q Design out of Montreal and foreshadows the moody and existential prog metal that lies within. Although this album is more intimate with different textures and influences, the reception to its predecessor should be a prime indication of the talents of FRACTAL CYPHER; this next release is sure to be a masterwork.
The band adds:
“’Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ is a mini album of 4 songs that are completely different from one to another to create a maximum roller coaster effect and make it non linear and interesting to listen to. The clash of style is more important and more obvious than our previous album, but the songs have gained in maturity in term of songwriting and sound. The vibe of this mini-album is really more intimate, due to the lyrics and the overall ambiance/universe of the songs. The melodic side of the band is still really present, offering catchy vocal lines and outstanding solos all over the songs.”
“Prelude To An Impending Outcome” is available for download and stream on Bandcamp, Spotify and iTunes.
Music Video – “From The Above And To The Stars”

Fractal Cypher exists to captivate audiences with progressive instrumentals that cut through the mesmerizing vocals and provide a new perspective on each listen. Straight out of the heart of Canada’s metal scene, these Montreal metallers constantly shift their compositions with seamless transitions and theatrical interludes to keep audiences on their toes.
Since 2014, Simon Lavoie (vocals), Ludovick Daoust (keyboard), Vincent Bruneau (guitar), Tommy Fradette (bass) and Steven Cope (drums) have been committed to a constant evolution; the powerful quintet is just as versatile in their music as they are in their musical interests, darting between djent and classic rock whilst anchoring on a power and death metal core.
Their debut album ‘The Human Paradox’ was released in September of 2016, with the follow up mini-album ‘Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ slated to be revealed in November of 2018.

“Fractal Cypher puts up a great effort of establishing a lot of cinematic overtones on the EP / mini-album and really layer their music masterfully.” – Technical Music Review
“I really enjoyed Fractal Cypher’s debut album The Human Paradox, and this new release is a great overview of what the band’s modern progressive metal is capable of… Another strong release from this up-and-coming group.” – Indy Metal Vault
“The band intended the songs to take the listener on an auditory roller coaster ride, shifting from one genre to another, and I expected an album that’d be all over the place. But it’s not: Fractal Cypher manages to carve its identity out of these influences by forging adventurous tracks that twist and turn on a dime.” – Montreal Rampage
“The album flows wonderfully and consistently with powerful and colorful songs. The music is spacious and well-composed and Fractal Cypher have this musicianship that really gels together.” – Boston Rock Radio
“a great progressive metal record” – Music Addict

0 Metal Rules – Ominous Eclipse – Sinister “If you enjoy, well-executed, old school Death Metal, than Sinister is worth your time to listen to.”
Ominous Eclipse are Death. Not ‘Melo-Death’. Not ‘Symphonic Death’. Not ‘Tech-Death’. Not ‘Ultra-brutal Death’. Just…death. They are old school, laid-back, easy listening Death, (I think I just invented a new sub-genre) kinda like Cannibal Corpse and Obituary. These guys look pretty young from the booklet, but they have been listening and appreciating the old masters and fortunately SINISTER is not tainted with modernity…If you enjoy, well-executed, old school Death Metal, than Sinister is worth your time to listen to.

Since climbing out of a volcano in 2008, shrouded in metal and ash, Lords of the Trident have gone to battle on many stages across the USA, playing and headlining a plethora of festivals and have an admirable arsenal of recordings in their inventory. The Lords of The Trident have released three full albums: “Death or Sandwich” (2009), “Chains on Fire” (2011), “Frostburn” (2015) , three EPs: “Plan of Attack” (2013), “A Very Lords of the Trident Christmas” (2014), “Re:Quests” (2015), and two live DVDs, along with numerous compilation singles.
Their live shows include medieval costumes, pyrotechnics, confetti cannons, guitars set ablaze, and of course, excellent technical musicianship that challenges the standard for how live music should be experienced. Citing influences such as Iron Maiden, Scar Symmetry and Judas Priest, and embracing lyrical themes inspired by great battles, conquests, dragon-fighting, virtual reality, and out-of-control robots Lords of the Trident dish out face-melting power that is enjoyed by fans of all races and classes.

“Overall this album keeps the fighting spirit alive and well! The band is tight, the sound and production quality of the album is solid; The Lords Of The Trident is truly a band on the rise, and there is no question as to why.”- OVERDRIVE Music Magazine
“This is some solid power-metal, along the lines of Kamelot, complete with soaring, technical leads with just a dash of prog…I love me some gallops, and this track (Reaper’s Hourglass) is chock-full of them. Drummer Master “Herc” Hercule Schlagzeuger boasts impressive stamina, following the gallops on the guitar throughout the entire song while holding down solid snare and cymbal work.” – Gear Gods
“Shadows From The Past is a fun and well-executed power metal album.” – Heavy Music Headquarters
“Lords of the Trident epitomize the spirit of USPM on “Death Dealer,” with fast and exciting riffs, strong tenor vocals, and a healthy dose of fantasy nerdery.” – Toilet ov Hell
“I think Lords Of The Trident could be a welcome addition to the European festival circuit, bringing fun and great music. This is a entertaining album, musically very enjoyable, lyrically funny and a good production. Time for Lords Of The Trident to sail the European shores.” – Lords of Metal
“Melody and harmony drive Lords of the Trident sonically – and this is prime US traditional metal for those who love the genre and want something new to treasure.” – Dead Rhetoric
“Lords Of The Trident has the uncanny ability to fuse both power and groove into their heavy metal. Bang your head, do windmills if you still have the hair to do so, or tap your toes, the Lords have their heavy metal rock groove going.” – Dangerdog Music Reviews
