Released in June 2018, “Unearth The Underworld” is a 5 track EP from Edmonton, Canada’s death/thrashers, TESSITURA. Since 2008, Edmonton-based Tessitura has been taunting the Western Canadian underground metal scene with their eclectic blend of melodic death metal, progressive music, and classic thrash. They meticulously craft their unique sound by layering the edge-of-your-seat, earth-shaking guitar work of Stephan Ceña, backing it up with Leillyn McColman’s uplifting bass lines and the driving drum patterns of Gord Alexander, and refining the sound with the dual-vocal freight train of Ceña and lead vocalist Cyn Mercredi’s powerful screams and haunting growls.

Winnipeg psychedelic proggers DIZZY MYSTICS have shared their latest video “Letter”, an animated adventure for fans to take a real trip on. The video is in support of their debut album “Wanderlost” released at on May 3rd. The full length is chock full of psychedelic flavours simmered in funk with just a dash of metal sure to satisfy anyone with an appetite for Tool, Primus, Frank Zappa, and Steely Dan.

“Wanderlost” contains 10 songs each containing the recommended daily servings of groove, intensity, melody and catchy vocals with the singles “Diamond Duller”; “The Frequent See, Consistent Seas” and “Letter”, which all have been pleasing the critics that got their hands on them. The album was self-recorded; mixed by John Paul Peters (Private Ear Recording, Winnipeg); mastered by Ed Brooks (Resonant Mastering, Seattle) and the album artwork was crafted by Ben Duncan.

Calgary’s DECIMATE Metal Festival returns for its second year with its biggest line up to date. Welcoming acts from across Canada, this year’s headliners announced are Into Eternity, Hammerdrone, Quietus, Planet Eater, Centuries of Decay (2018 Wacken Metal Canada Champions) among many more on the 20 plus band event being hosted for three days from July 5th to 7th at the County Line Saloon (full day line ups listed below).
