NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 13, 2019

For fans of Breaking Benjamin, Thrice, Highly Suspect, Three Days Grace, Chevelle

Ottawa’s CeVILAIN Offers “Better Angels” In New Music Video via SpaceUntravel

Ottawa’s CeVILAIN is gearing up to release the first single “Better Angels”from the double-release “As Above, So Below” (Release date: April 12, 2019). The video for “Better Angels” is being premiered via Space Untravel channel on Youtube.

CeVILAIN was initiated in 2017 with the idea to bring together standout musicians in the Ottawa music scene to carve out a place in the genre that was clearly lacking – a hard rock band that focuses on storytelling in a positive light. The result is a raw, emotional heavy hitting band with a sound similar to Thrice, Highly Suspect, and Three Days Grace.

This new EP, “As Above, So Below” will be the follow up to the 2018 EP Rise and the band expects that it will show a more mature sound that they have been developing:

“The new single, “Better Angels”, is a progressive step forward for the band in establishing our identity. The single further expresses and showcases our ability to deliver captivating pieces highlighted by exceptional vocalizations and instrumentation.”

The band continues with the meaning behind the song:

“The single is meant to highlight acceptance and growth. The heart of the song drives home the notion that it’s okay to ask for help, it’s okay to be vulnerable, and that you will come out of it stronger.”

“Better Angels” music video can be watched at the following link: https://youtu.be/J7mink2ATWA

About:

CeVILAIN is a hard rock band that clearly stands out for the genre – they craft thunderous pieces that aspire to evoke positivity, unity, acceptance, and inclusion rather than solely expressing simple angst and discord. They channel their creative energies into captivating tracks whose impact is only surpassed by their energetic live performance and their ability to engage their audience.

Inspired by titans of the genre – Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The Horizon, and Thrice – CeVILAIN is a band that will never be satisfied resting on their laurels. Building upon the success of their first EP – the independently produced and released “RISE” (2018) – the band is already back with brand new material that continues to forge ahead their heavy, melodic and driven sound.

Mixed by Mike Langford (Deadset Society) and mastered by Peter Leitros (Wreckhouse Mastering), the new single “Better Angels” showcases their ability to hammer home searing instrumentation with soaring melody and harmony. This ability is on full display as the vocalization plays off each contributor before coming together in a massive chorus hook.

CeVILAIN was formed in Ottawa, Canada in 2018 and quickly became the go-to, must see artist in the Nation’s Capital. In short order, their first single – “Hush” – surpassed 10,000+ streams across all platforms and has become a mainstay, and regular request, on rock radio. The band has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with exceptional talent such as: Adam Gontier (Three Days Grace), Bif Naked, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), One Bad Son, Crown Lands, The Lazys, and Richie Kotzen (Poison, Mr Big).

2019 looks to be a massive step forward for CeVILAIN as they continue to establish their presence and influence in mainstream rock.

Montreal, QC – April 12, 2019

For fans of Kamelot, Symphony X, Alter Bridge, Tesseract, Ghost

Inspired By Soviet Era Posters, RED CAIN Share Lyric Video “All Is Violence” via MetalMasterKingdom

Debut Album “Kindred: Act I” Out Now

Performing On Vancouver’s Hyperspace Metal Festival April 27th

Inspired by Soviet-era posters, Calgary’s RED CAIN have put together a visually thrilling lyric video for their track “All Is Violence” off their debut album “Kindred: Act I”released this past March.

Teaming up with MetalMasterKingdom, the band is premiering the video at the following link: https://www.metalmasterkingdom.com/home/red-cain-premiere-lyric-video-for-all-is-violence

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny adds:

“Visually inspired by Soviet propaganda posters, with images brilliantly designed by Igor Zayarny, ‘All Is Violence’ is a lethal offensive tying pagan Russian conceptions of righteous and sinful violence as championed by pagan gods Veles and Morana to an examination of violence in the modern era, backed by thunderous drums and downtuned, aggressive guitar work. The lyric video doubles as an introduction to individual Red Cain band members, with individual and group photos taken by Quay Evano. Fire, reload, step forward, and wrestle with your bestial nature because -‘All Is Violence’.”

RED CAIN first full-length “Kindred: Act I” was produced by Sascha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) with the band at Perfect Filth Studios and features guests Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus), Daniel Louden (Benevolent Like Quietus) and guitarist Tyler Corbett. The album’s artwork was done by Timur Khabirov with cover design by Igor Zayarny.

The band has shared a few other videos in support of the debut album. Their music video for “Zero” recently won the Award of Recognition in the Best Music Video category at the Accolade Global Film Competition in Los Angeles.

Born out of the emerging metal scene of Calgary, AB, RED CAIN is a modern melodic metal project with European roots. With intricate songwriting, a heavy yet melodic feel reminiscent of progressive acts, and eerie ambient elements, RED CAIN champion a fluid, dynamic, and unique musical style centered around telling dark, conceptual Faustian sagas and constructing those into an unforgettable live experience. Listeners might well pick out elements reminiscent of such luminary acts as Kamelot, Symphony X, Tesseract, Draconian, Marilyn Manson, whipped into a venomous new shape.

“Kindred: Act I” is available on Bandcamp here, iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify.

In additional news, RED CAIN will be performing on this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC for the second night of the event on April 27th at the Rickshaw Theatre alongside Crimson Shadows, Judicator and many more. Full details and line up can be found here.

“Overall, this was a very original album. I find it very difficult to locate a counterpart for RED CAIN, as they have clearly created their own sound in the genre. What we have here is a two headed beast of sad and melancholy music on one side and angry and raging music on the other. The two combine somewhere in the middle with flair for the dramatic and impassioned vocals. This is definitely worth your time if you are looking for something off the beaten path.” – Metal Temple

“Symphonic progressive metal with alternative and gothic nuances – Red Cain are well on their way to establishing new territory in story telling and musical match-ups. Kindred: Act I represents a fine opening album for these Canadians, and should lend itself well to various multi-media opportunities for live show and film options. The best records connect on a mind, body, and spirit level – and this will be one that should be in the conversation for visionary, forward-thinking effort, proving the ink is not dry on what metal can bring to the table for innovation.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Kindred: Act I is all about raw and unbridled metal power. A thoughtful brand of metal that – for once – does not base itself on mindless growling about the stage along normal lines of metal conduct. Instead they rip the established status quo to pieces and attack with a very unusual metal dish. One that comes with a distinct groove to boot… a very tasty fusion of Progressive and Power Metal that we have rarely seen to date. A metal dish best consumed red-hot. Have some, you will not regret it.” – Rock Music Raider

“I couldn’t be more impressed with this band and album from the opening track “Snake Bouquet” to the last track “Wing Of The Crow” which is an awesome closing track with guest vocals from Kobra Paige of Kobra and The Lotus. This album takes you on an epic and melodic journey, I feel fans of bands from Avatar to Kamelot to Marilyn Manson and anything in between will really love this album.” – Crannk
“Red Cain have produced a very awesome album. It sounds and looks very professional, has great riffs and epic melodies. Keep an eye on these guys, they will come very far.” – Lyrical Spell Magazine

Bio:

Since 2008, Edmonton-based Tessitura has been taunting the Western Canadian underground metal scene with their eclectic blend of melodic death metal, progressive music, and classic thrash. They meticulously craft their unique sound by layering the edge-of-your-seat, earth-shaking guitar work of Stephan Ceña, backing it up with Leillyn McColman’s uplifting bass lines and the driving drum patterns of Gord Alexander, and refining the sound with the dual-vocal freight train of Ceña and lead vocalist Cyn Mercredi’s powerful screams and haunting growls.

Leaving behind the more technical borderline progressive style found on the first two albums, ‘Battle to Eternity’ (2010) and ‘Savage Embrace’(2013), they embrace their grittier side with ‘Unearth the Underworld’ (2018). The unmatched energy they inject into their fans can be experienced at one of their thunderous live shows or on any of their releases.
