SAWYER PATH’s New Music Video ‘Through The Lies’ Explores The Turbulence Of A Toxic Relationship

Montreal’s SAWYER PATH is releasing the latest video for the track ‘Through The Lies’ off their 2018 album ‘Toxic Temptation’.
Focused on writing catchy, alternative metalcore with heavy breakdowns and melodic riffs, they have worked together since 2009 and have released two EP’s and three LP’s. Over the years their sound has matured including the two new guitarists they gained as of their last release. SAWYER PATH explains the recent album:
“Our closest fans were pretty stoked by our new material. The two new guitarists have been working together for 15 years so they have quite a chemistry. That changed the sound of the band a bit, but it’s not too drastic and people love it so we’re very proud of this one.”
With relatable lyrical themes including relationships, addictions, failures, and achievements, SAWYER PATH makes an effort to inject their songs with feeling and passion. ‘Through The Lies’ is about a toxic relationship, and the band explains the video behind it:
“The video gives the audience a claustrophobic atmosphere with a dark tone. There is also a blue light on the left and a red light on the right to represent the contrast of love/hate like our album cover. We wanted the fans to feel a tormented sensation with the heavy riffs and dark lyrics, explaining a toxic relationship with someone you need to break away from.”
Melodic and groovy, ‘Through The Lies’ is recommended for fans of Bullet For My Valentine, Papa Roach, and I Prevail
‘Through The Lies’ can be watched via YouTube Channel SpaceUntravel: https://youtu.be/_-tEcSYXhaQ
‘Toxic Temptation’ is available for stream and download on Bandcamp, Spotify, iTunes.

The band’s name comes from the character Tom Sawyer who was a wise and rebel teenager that was always looking for adventure. He understood that freedom was the principal gift of life and used this to realize his dreams. The band supports this philosophical thought that you can gain success through the freedom of doing what you love. We all have different paths in life, but it doesn’t mean that you are any less if you don’t follow the same tendencies as the majority. “Don’t go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.“ (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Sawyer Path was a rebirth of Sean Mackay (vocals) and Alex Samson(bass/vocals) when they teamed up with drummer Pete Richard in June 2009. Since Sean and Alex used to be in a punk rock band before, the arrival of Pete drastically changed the sound of the band.
“Enter The Fog” came out in January 2013 after which the band added a new guitarist (Oliver L’Heureux) to their line-up and released their second record called “Escape My Demons” in February 2015. This EP signified the beginning of a new era for the band. In 2016, Sawyer Path added a new guitarist, Olivier Veilleux, to their line up to create a new dynamic for the next album. The third album called “Toxic Temptation”, came out on April 13th, 2018.

NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – May 3, 2019
AS I MAY Announce New Album “My Own Creations” + Music Video For First Single “Pride Goes Before A Fall”
“My Own Creations” Out July 26 Worldwide via Rockshots Records, July 24 In Japan via Spiritual Beast

Finnish modern metal act AS I MAY announce they will be releasing their second album “My Own Creations” this coming July 2019. Signing with labels Rockshots Records (Italy) and Spiritual Beast (Japan), the sophomore full length is slated for a worldwide release on July 26thalong with it being available in Japan on July 24th.
“My Own Creations” is a fast-paced blend of modern metal with metalcore highlights. It’s heavy, melodic and unique; and sonically more mature than AS I MAY‘s previous release “Speak No Evil” (2017). Working on writing music that is easy to identify with a digital atmosphere, AS I MAY make their listeners headbang and sing along to the catchy choruses.
The first single from the album is ‘Pride Goes Before A Fall’, it is full of unique tones, dynamic riffs, and impeccable production. As part of an album that is written to be listened to in full, ‘Pride Goes Before A Fall’ sets a dark tone with excellent production in the video. The band explains the meaning behind the song:
“‘Pride Goes Before A Fall’ is like a fast-moving train with catchy synth melody that drills into your head and stays there for the whole day. It’s got Rammstein stylish riffs that will make you continuously headbang. The bridge has a very nice dynamic beautiful vocal melody to add with an infectious chorus.”
Paying homage to many old school metal bands, In Flames fans will find a special affinity for this Finnish act.

Dizzy Mystics Soup for the Rocker’s Soul;
2 cups Psychedelic
2 cups Progressive
1 cup Hearty 70’s Metal
3 tbsp. Jazz
3 tbsp. Funk
2 tbsp. Folk
1 tbsp. Soul
A pinch of Celtic Pepper is optional
(Measurements of each ingredient are subject to change for each batch made)
As the recipe implies, rock music is the spoon that stirs the soup, and no genre (or spice) is out of the question for Dizzy Mystics. Climbing out the stock pot in 2015, Dizzy Mystics are a psychedelic rock band based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. One can expect a dynamically diverse, tastefully complex, and energetic dose of adventurous hard rock with feet moving rhythmic swagger, and stargazing melodies.

“It is clear that Dizzy Mystics may be among the most unique of the vibrant Canadian rock scene to be delivering tracks that will leave fans of classic, progressive, and 90’s alternative rock excited for what is to come.” – Canadian Beats
“Mysticism aside, this band certainly got the “dizzy” part right! The Winnipeg rock quartet Dizzy Mystics offer up a staggering musical concoction that, considering its progressive and experimental flair, is surprisingly radio-ready. Think Rush and Primus drinking wine with Tool before dropping acid with Frank Zappa and checking out a jazz club with Steely Dan. Dizzying, right? Jokes aside, frontman Kyle Halldorson, guitarist Alexandre Joyal, drummer Jeffrey Laird and bassist Aaron Bacon have some serious chops and, with the right amount of work, gigging and outside help, this Canadian act has the potential to not only see the end of the tarmac, but to also take off!” – PureGrainAudio
“Diamond Duller moves and groves, in interesting rhythms, changing from one beat to another, shifting and clanging with energy. The vocals bring about high energy and ensure the listener is hooked from the get go.” – The Median Man
“The quartet has crafted a psychedelic and progressive sound upon many others including melodic hard rock and funk. The band takes you through a heavy and psychedelic trip on their latest single.” – Technical Music Review

http://www.heavymusichq.com/the-progress-report-april-2019/
“Sideways in Time is a fantastic album, with great Pink Floyd-inspired songs centered upon lengthy guitar jams and stellar bass play. Capping it all off in fantastic fashion is Thurgood, who absolutely slays on the microphone, elevating every song into the upper echelon of powerful, progressive goodness. What it adds up to is inspired, emotional, interesting songs led by an outstanding vocal performance. Sideways in Time is this column’s pick of the month.”
