“Dizzy Mystics know how to groove with the best of them, blending feel, melody, jazzy meanderings, and excellent vocals into a mix that makes this the month’s feel-good album. Each song feels fresh and vital, and the band’s enthusiasm shines throughout the record. If there’s such a thing as summertime prog, this might be it.”

0 Heavy Music Headquarters – Concrete Funeral – Ultimum Judicium (Self) – “The Canadian death/thrash brigade Concrete Funeral have a good grasp of the harsh side of things on their debut album Ultimum Judicium. Some very vicious sounding vocals atop the music matches it quite well. Abrasive riffing fits well within either the death or thrash genres. The music works well in all its caustic glory as the songs glide by with memorable efficiency and a rapid pace, but are allowed to have their impact implanted quite nicely… Fans of bands like early Kreator and Slayer will get a kick out of Concrete Funeral’s work. There is a nastiness that makes it more than just a typical thrash release.”

NEWS RELEASE

For fans of Thy Art Is Murder, Whitechapel, Despised Icon, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive
Return To High School Angst With DEATH NOTE SILENCE’s New Video ‘Forgotten’

Canada’s DEATH NOTE SILENCE is hitting hard with their latest video, for the track ‘Forgotten’. This high impact, full throttle music video is complete with deep gutturals, accented with well-timed breakdowns and clean guitar harmonies that prove DEATH NOTE SILENCE is the next up and coming band in the underground Canadian metal scene.
‘Forgotten’ is off the self-titled EP that was released October 18, 2018, which followed the 2016 album “Code of Silence”. The band explains the meaning behind the song:
“This song is talking about someone put aside in high school. Someone that went through it, had it the hard way but made his way through it. You can feel the hate, unity and a sense of accomplishment.”
Moving forward, DEATH NOTE SILENCE provides a massive wall of sound that is more mature lyrically, but retains a touch of teen angst and is energetic and heavily complimented with gang vocals that engage the audience.
Fans of Despised Icon, Breakdown of Sanity and Whitechapel will find enjoyable similarities between those bands and the new upcomers DEATH NOTE SILENCE.

Montreal’s THRASH LA REINE will be releasing their second EP “La Foi, La Loi, La Croix” to the world on May 31, 2019.
With the spirit of both thrash and power metal, THRASH LA REINE, who describe themselves as ‘Francophone satirical epic thrash’ create music as they feel it and leave it up to the audience to decide where they really fit in. The exclusive French-language album follows the band’s 2017 EP “Le Metal Est Notre Langue”. The band hints at what the new release entails:
“We do not reinvent anything, but at the same time, we think we offer something that sounds new and refreshing. We want to share Montreal’s culture by making music in French, but we believe this music can be accessible and interesting to everybody around the world.”
Incorporating musical influences from the likes of Metallica, Judas Priest, and Megadeth, they take lyrical inspiration from current events and real life.
Teaming up with Metal-Rules.com, the trio is premiering the EP’s full stream at the following link: https://www.metal-rules.com/2019/05/30/montreals-thrash-la-reine-premiere-ep-streamla-foi-la-loi-la-croix/
The band adds:
“The album title “La Foi, La Loi, La Croix’’, in English translation means ‘The Faith, The Law, The Cross’’. We chose this title as these three symbols reflects the themes that are present in our album. On the album cover, we see three characters a Machiavellian priest, an evil queen and a corrupted politician’’ in front of our hometown of Montreal. They symbolize, in a caricatured way, the pillars of our Western society and its own decline.”
“La Foi, La Loi, La Croix” will be released on May 31, 2019, and will be available Bandcamp and available on Spotify, iTunes.

BIO:
Thrash La Reine is a Montreal-based French heavy metal trio founded in 2017. In their music, they comprise styles of their main influences of thrash and power metal as well as paying homage to their home city and the francophone punk bands that were notorious in the Montreal scene during their college years. In each song, they mix the epic themes of power metal with the social topics of punk and thrash metal to make a style that they dubbed ‘’Epic Thrash’’.
In 2017, in their home studio, they recorded a first EP called ‘’Le Metal Est Notre Langue’’. Since then, they have opened for artists such as Judas Priestess (US) and Tim Ripper Owen (US). In 2018, a second EP ‘’La Foi, La Loi, La Croix’’ was recorded. The recording and mixing were done at Studio Wild with Pierre Rémillard (Anonymus, Cryptopsy) and mastered in the summer by Jacob Hansen in Denmark. The EP is now ready to hit mosh pits around the world with a release date on May 31, 2019.

Launched from the mountain town of Kimberly, Canada, PHAETON released their debut self-titled album this past December. In support of the release, the band has launched a playthrough video for their track ‘Labyrinth’.
In this video, the viewer is taken through 4 minutes of instrumental prog metal with spacey riffs and melodic bass lines. Without the addition, one is able to be completely enveloped in the cumulation of years of hard work from these talented musicians.
As part of their modus operandi, they aspire to take their fans “through space and time and feel a complete visceral release that can only be found through prog metal.”
Fans of anything technical and dreamy will take a liking to PHAETON‘s ‘Labyrinth’ as it follows in the footsteps of Rush, Dream Theater, and King Crimson.

BIO:
In the wilderness of Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada, with a fascination for astronomy, Kevin Thiessen (guitar), Daniel Airth (guitar), Colin Righton (percussion), and Ferdy Belland (bass) united to create the interplanetary, instrumental prog metal that would come to be known as Phaeton.
Since 2017, they have been working quickly as a collaborative unit, honing their skills and orchestrating an attention-focused listening experience. One drenched in joy and wonder and the emotional, visceral release that only prog-metal can deliver. And the lack of lyrical interference only allows the listener the better opportunity to let their imaginations run wild with the music, drifting emotionally away on the solar winds to wherever they wish to soar.
Phaeton can be experienced with the release of the self-titled debut album out now as of December 21, 2018.
