Unleashing their latest EP “Volume Two: Mendicium” this past September, Edmonton death metal duo Tales of Tomb are sharing with fans their latest lyric video for the track ‘Faul’ HERE.
The band explains the story behind the track:
“Faul was the 3rd song the band had ever written. We decided not to include it on our debut EP because it did not fit into the concept that the first EP had. ‘Faul’ is about the conspiracy surrounding The Beatles. In the ’60s Paul and John got into a fight late one night in the studio. Paul stormed out after an argument while driving Paul saw a woman walking by the side of the road. It was around 3 am in the morning Paul decided to stop and offer the woman a ride. After the woman got into the car and Paul started driving again. The woman noticed the driver was Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles! The woman got very excited and was throwing herself at Paul while he was driving resulting in him driving the car off the road. It’s rumored that he never survived the crash and that police came to the studio to inform the band of their member Paul’s death in the accident. When the band was brought to the accident, the police officer was showing the band the body and noticed that you could see his teeth poking through his cheek. The cop said ‘Doesn’t he look like a walrus’ and John Lennon was very distraught by this and was yelling at the cop ‘No, I am the walrus’ inspiring the famous line from the song. In the end, it was the British Secret Police who decided to forge a cover-up not revealing Paul’s death to the world in fear there would be mass suicide from a lot of the fans The Beatles had. Sonically, we really went for the murder metal formula short, sweet and to the point.”
Painting their canvas of extreme music with inspirations of real-life stories of murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and terror, Tales of The Tomb‘s new EP “Volume Two: Mendicium” is a vicious bite of grinding blast beats, technical shredding accompanied by venomous guttural lows. Inspired by true events, the duo offer up gore-filled lyrics with a quivering soundscape. The EP was mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitarist and head engineer/owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson along with featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks.
“Volume Two: Mendicium” is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

About:
Unified by the desire to have the grotesque power of 90’s era death and murder metal, Tales of The Tomb started as a thought that grew into an insatiable need to make extreme music. Tales Of The Tomb was created in October 2013 from founder Corey Skerlak (guitar, vocals) out of inspiration from the original murder metal band Macabre.
Much of their inspiration is drawn from the hideous crimes and conspiracies of the world. Retelling stories of the dark hidden secrets and victims from such crimes. This was the inspiration for the name Tales of The Tomb.

“Overall, I recommend this album to death metal fans of all varieties. It is a fun album with a lot of great riffs. Also, I highly recommend reading the lyrics and learning about the conspiracy theories behind the songs.” – Metal Temple
“Volume Two: Mendacium is six songs of punishing metal fit for listeners with the heaviest of taste. Whether you’re spending time carving pumpkins or watching slasher movies this Halloween season, be sure to make room on your playlist for Tales of the Tomb.” – Surviving The Golden Age
” Their new, independently released EP is heavy as ice and laced up with razor-sharp production. Volume Two: Mendacium is a non-stop frosty riff fest, delivered on a moose-poutine platter of awesome production thanks to the Canucks over at The Grid. Slapshot your wallets & pick up this death metal gem.” – TrveNorth Reviews
“The need to head bang is strong with this one, and it made for an excellent addition to my Death Metal library.” – New-Transcendence
“All in all, Tales of the Tomb’s latest installment is a rather subtle tale that is more akin to a destructive musical journey through morbid lyrical themes and passages.” – Metal Trenches

New Album “Leviathan and The Deep Dark Blue” Out Now!

Canada’s Morgan Rider & The Deep Dark River are kicking off 2020 with their new music video “Ignite The Tempests” via Decibel Magazine HERE.
The track comes off their second installment in The Deep Dark River quadrilogy saga – “Leviathan and The Deep Dark Blue” (North Soul Records) released this past November. The album combines all the humble qualities of doom influenced metal, blues, folk and classical into a well-balanced, artfully crafted musical reflection on life, hope and old-fashioned storytelling while delivering a uniquely fresh and uplifting listening experience.
Morgan Rider explains the story of track:
“For ‘Ignite The Tempests’, the choruses are slower and doomier, they give a reprieve from the harder intro, mid section and outro to tell the story of The Tempest, who is enraged and casts his full weight upon the shore-dweller structure – crushing it utterly. His throes ignite the storms of the oceans and his writhing withers the numbers of the loathsome shore-dwellers. With a titanous gale of might, he sends the waters in full force at the green shores – crushing the structures of the poisoning shore-dwellers, bringing ruinous death to their kind and drowning the lands for many miles.”

About:
Born in 1989, singer, songsmith and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Rider had his earliest imaginings of life as a musician while contending with an often tumultuous childhood. Overhearing his mother – who is a trained operatic soprano – his love and understanding of music blossomed at an early age. Morgan eventually spending his adolescent and early adult years performing in touring metal bands – appearing on tours and large festivals across North America and Europe.
During the summer of 2017, Morgan’s adoration of folk, classical and blues music finally culminated into a project and the beginnings of a collection of songs. The name Deep Dark River had been stuck in his head for years, as a byproduct of his writings and alluding to the very nature of his ideas as a musician and artist. As such, Deep Dark River became the name by which he would perform beneath.
While his ideas began to take form, so did his mindset for what became the early stages of Deep Dark River. In March of 2018, the first original Deep Dark River single ‘The Golden Bough’ was released digitally worldwide. Morgan began performing live and also toured solo to the Canadian east coast to promote the single. In the summer of 2018, the debut album Deep Dark River was released and supported with a full Canadian solo tour over 5 weeks.
As 2018 neared its end, Morgan called upon his friend Nathen Morrison to contribute cello to the sounds of Deep Dark River, solidifying the project as a duo. The pair immediately began rehearsing and recording the first of a four-album quadrilogy – which Morgan had written the bulk of on his travels. The first single featuring the pair – Starfire – was released in March of 2019 along with the album “King of The Forest” released on June 21st, 2019 via North Soul Records. Not slowing down, the pair have their next album just months later “The Deep Dark Blue” planned for release via North Soul Records on November 22nd, 2019 with its lead single ‘The Seafaerers’.

“The result is an epic album which will appeal to fans of the dankest black metal as much it will to those of folk music, as it ploughs a dark furrow somewhere between the two, possessing as it does the atmospherics of the former and the story-telling ability of the latter. Quite an achievement, and one beautifully realized.” – Uber Rock
“Morgan Rider and the Deep Dark River and their sophomore record, “Leviathan And The Deep, Dark Blue”. It is, lyrically, truly a precious gem in a world where the written word matters little to the consumers of music. It does portray music, in its entirety, as an integral and an indispensable work of art, and for that, listeners worldwide can be only grateful.” – Metal Temple

“I can highly recommend this to anyone who yearns for that ‘old school’ vibe that seems to be so highly sought after. Krvsade nail what it takes to be an old school blackened thrash act in the 21st century by sticking true to tried and tested traits, but by expanding their sound into more sludgy territory at the same time…damn good, solid, thrashing fun time.” – Metal Observer
“The opening title track is a fine example of what the Krvsade are about, old school Sepultura, Death or even Morbid Angel style guitar work and recording esthetics, pulverising kit work from Dennis and demonic vocals from Evans. You can just picture Evans eyes lit up electric blue as he spits fire from his mouth and shoots lighting bolts from his palms.” – Metal Noise
“Krvsade stand poised to seize the rusty metal crown of the Queen City, as there is a conscious malignancy lurking in the depths of their songwriting, waiting to rear its hideous head.” – Exclaim!
“full of bangers!” – Ghost Cult Magazine
“Listen to it until your ears bleed, and then listen to it again.” – Roxx100
“A giant dose of talent in this Ep; a sinister environment enhanced by a well balanced rhythm section, a great structure and an inspired solo in JUDGEMENT DAY.
KEEP IN THE CHURCH is more squared with deep vocals and great changes of time.
Not least next THE KEY AND THE GATE. A band to keep an eye on! Interesting!” – HardRockHeavyMetal
“Made up of only 3 songs, the EP starts off with a bang, combining thrash and death metal in a powerful title track that can be easily pictured as the soundtrack for a savage moshpit.” – Metal Blast
“Krvsade from North Carolina, USA, drop this brutal 3 x track EP and my lord does it pack a punch, and for £2.97 from Amazon, it’s worth every penny… very imaginative riffing going on and plenty to remember.” 5/5 – Planet Mosh
“Krvsade slam out some awesome old school death/thrash metal on their new EP Judgment Day. These three songs are what just what the metal doctor ordered full of anger, aggression and powerful lyrics. Great evil vocals that slash through awesome guitar riffs that are both fast and heavy.” – The Dirty Room
“If you like it heavy and dark, I believe you will like this one. This slashin’ thrashin’ journey is built on a foundation of some very powerful drum work with amazing guitar accents sprinkled throughout. The vocals are what nightmares are made of, and I mean that in a complimentary manner… I strongly recommend checking out this Death/Thrash Metal combo, it works for me.” Boston Rock Radio
“For my money, thrash with a heavy dose of death metal has always been more fertile ground for bands looking to make their mark after the genre’s 80s heyday. Charlotte’s Krvsade is clearly of the same opinion. Their second EP, Judgement [sic] Day is a promising, if overly brief, show of force from a band still finding their footing in today’s metal scene.” – Toilet Ov Hell
“Strewn between the avenues of Thrash and Death Metal, KRVSADE, does well to carve their own path in the niche compartmentalization of each and has a special place on my playlist for their eldritch track on seeking Yog-Sothoth, whose song title comes from the Lovecraft short story Through The Gates Of The Silver Key… cold, boisterous, and energetic each track serves as a prelude to a much more grand machination, and “Judgement Day” as a whole serves as proof of what’s to come.” – Metal Temple
“There are plenty of tasty riffs to come your way in this new EP from North Carolina thrash metallers Krvsade.” – Noizze
“Krvsade is firing on all cylinders and boasting some changes, they really have developed an impressive sound.” – Crannk

LONG BIO
Released from the depths in 2015, Krvsade is a mind-shattering thrash assault destined to conquer stages across the nation and the world. A new blend of extreme metal from Charlotte, USA, Krvsade incorporates death and black metal into the thrash equation, resulting in an original, brutal sound.
The four members of Krvsade work together to refine each melodic track, starting with Andre Evans (guitar/vocals) defining the skeleton of the song with riff ideas and the occasional chorus. The framework is sent to Keegan Dennis (drums) to flesh out a solid foundation and once that is done, it passes to Arthur Reid (guitar) and Jeb Laird (bass) for final attunement. Lyrical themes encompass anything from the end of days to religion and real-life events.
Having shared the stage with the likes of Inquisition, Nervosa, and Uada, Krvsade is first and foremost a live band. With seasoned musicians comprising the line-up, a live gig from Krvsade is intense and interactive. Raw and in the moment, it’s not a numb, over choreographed school play. This is real, in your face, fast and angry metal; a full set of four dudes losing their minds. The way it should be.
Krvsade released their debut offering ‘Militum Infernum’ in 2017, featuring the first three songs they ever wrote as a band. Growth and evolution are apparent in the newest recording, ‘Judgment Day’ EP arriving in January 2020. According to the band, this latest 3 track record is only an appetizer for the full course that is coming soon.
