KRATORNAS Announces “Ravaged by Hurakaan” Vinyl and Cassette Demo Ahead of Upcoming Album “God of the Tribes” Out August 2025

Saskatoon, Canada’s Kratornas is set to unleash a special vinyl demo on May 20th and remix cassette on May 30th, 2025, through Grathila Records. These releases serve as a prelude to the highly anticipated full-length album “God of the Tribes,” scheduled for release on August 22nd, 2025. The mastermind behind Kratornas comments:

“This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be “different” but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension… it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual Kratornas, so anyone expecting it to sound like “early Kratornas” will be disappointed.

The 7″ vinyl demo features “Ravaged by Hurakaan” on Side A, with Side B containing an instrumental “Drum and Bass” version of the same track. This vinyl-exclusive release will not be available in digital format, making it a true collector’s item for dedicated fans. Simultaneously, Kratornas will release a remix of the track on cassette. Both the vinyl and the upcoming album were mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity).

“Ravaged by Hurakaan” serves as track #3 on the upcoming full-length album “God of the Tribes,” giving fans an early taste of what to expect from the new material. Unlike previous Kratornas releases known for their “superfast brutality,” this new material focuses on build-up and atmosphere, showcasing a significant evolution in sound.

The new material features previously unexplored instrumentation, including a 7-string guitar for L/R channels and a 6-string fretless bass, moving away from blast beats and heavily distorted guitars toward a more nuanced approach. Black Metal fans, especially those with an interest in “being progressive”, should take note.

We collected some of our “Wanted” posters and had the witch who lives in the tower (a dear friend of Buck’s) use them to craft our single art. You can find the witch at ______

About the track:

Outlaws was the 2nd song that we wrote. Buck wrote the lyrics after escaping from the cops while on horseback, barely making it out alive. They wrote the song the night they got back, and turned the exhilaration of surviving into a song.

1. This is the first recording ever of Buck’s voice, even though they’ve been singing for as long as anyone can remember.

2. All main vocals were recorded in a historic church that the Vultures broke into.

3. Buck was not the original vocalist in Vultures at Dawn.

Paris’ SPHERES have an invitation to a spiritual journey and dystopian dimension with the release of their new single “Underworld“. Just like the world we live in, SPHERES‘ sound is becoming increasingly extreme, and their new song “Underworld” asks the question: can we evolve without destroying ourselves? Extreme metal label Gore House Productions is celebrating 15 years of debauchery with its 13-track sampler “Intestinal Purge,” featuring various bands who have released unhinged grinding torment to earworm its way to fans.

Label founder Carlos Matt shares his sentiments about the early beginnings of GHP and the present.

“TLDR coming in:15 Years? Can you believe it? It’s been 15 years since the inception of Gore House Productions. I never imagined what life would look like in my 30s, let alone running an indie for this long. I was a 23-year-old who started booking shows with zero experience besides KNOWING how much extreme metal meant to me. I wanted to find a way to give back to a genre of music that was my scapegoat to reality. This was an itch I needed to scratch, and I had no idea this is how I would be doing so. I still recall messaging bands on MySpace to inquire about booking shows while contacting countless venues for possible booking dates.

What many don’t know is that I started buying/selling merch a year before. Back then, I was selling merch at swap meets on the weekends. This was before I officially launched an online store in 2012. I can go hours talking about those early days, but I’ll save it for another time.

I want to thank every band and fan for sticking around for this long. Besides the hurdles/delays, your patience and die-hard love for what we do mean more than words can describe. I also want to thank the many labels that continue to work with us as a source of distribution globally. Additionally, I want to thank my family who has continued to encourage me; my son who, reminds me to not give up; his mother, Violet, who many of you know also pushed me to keep grinding even when things got rough; lastly, @ashermedia who has taken over the PR role for GHP.I’m taking this time to announce the return of our label compilation, Intestinal Purge.

Now available as of April 17th, 2025, from Exitus Strategem Records, eclectic doom metal powerhouse AITTALA is unleashing their new album “Machines“.

The songs on “Machines” were originally written and demoed between 1990 and 1997 on an analog 4-track cassette recorder. Now, Aittala has revived these tracks, preserving their raw essence while enhancing them with modern production techniques. The album offers a nostalgic yet powerful experience, blending early progressive metal influences with storytelling-driven lyrics. While showcasing a distinct style from their recent works, “Machines” stays true to Aittala’s signature heavy, immersive sound.

Formed in 1991 in Holland, Aittala quickly gained recognition in the Dutch metal scene, opening for bands like THE GATHERING and SADIST. After a hiatus, frontman Eric Aittala resurrected the band in 2008, leading to six full-length albums: Bed of Thorns (2009), Haunt Your Flesh (2011), Effigy (2014), American Nightmare (2016), False Pretenses (2019), and Live to Regret (2022).

Now, with “Machines,” AITTALA boldly steps into the past, bringing long-lost tracks to life with a modern, crushing edge.
