NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 21, 2020

NEXT DOOR TO HEAVEN New Single ‘Dance With Me’

Russian progressive metalcore band Next Door To Heaven release the new stand-alone single ‘Dance With Me’ to follow their 2019 album “V Ways To Accept” released on Sliptrick Records. The melodic, djenty and proggy track follows NDTH’s signature sound. The song is about relationships, an unconscious feeling of the presence of a close person even if logic and reality tell you this person can’t be here now. It differs from “V Ways To Accept” because the message from ‘Dance With Me’ is about recovery, not the misery.

Listen to ‘Dance With Me’ at the following links:
YouTube
Spotify

Plus available for download on Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon.

In addition to the new single, the band released a new video music video last week ‘Depression I: Razors’ HERE in support of “V Ways To Accept”.

“V Ways To Accept” (Sliptrick Records) is the second album by the band that was released last year. With that full length, the band took the listener on a long journey with a concept story based around human emotions. The 10 track album began from the denial stage, going through anger, bargaining, depression and ending with acceptance. All the songs were influenced by personal experience, making this full length very sincere from the beginning to the end, each song has its own mood and involves different sub-genres, which makes a much richer impression for the listener.

“V Ways To Accept” is available on Shop Sliptrick, Apple Music, Spotify.

It’s A Grunge Comeback w/ BADGUYSWIN Music Video ‘Lying To Myself’ + New Album “Cowards” Out April 10th

L-R – Alex Huber – Bass Guitar, Vocals, Shane Sherman – Vocals, Guitar, Zak Waterlow – Drums

BADGUYSWIN will be releasing their debut full length “Cowards” due out April 10, 2020. Today, they reveal their second music video ‘Lying To Myself‘ via its premiere on V13.net HERE.

Nirvana and Soundgarden may be no more, but the members of Canada’s BADGUYSWIN are here to serve up your guilty pleasure for an era of rock n’ roll that’s knocking on doors and making its comeback. Heavy driven grunge-inspired loud amps, blended with clean vocals, plentiful harmonies, and driving rhythms are what fuels this Grand Forks, BC band to keep things stuck in your head for days to come!

Featuring 3 out of 4 members from technical metal band Slagduster, BADGUYSWIN shows off their original roots in music, the grunge era of the 90s where they would glue themselves to the stereo for hours. The members of BADGUYSWIN also all grew up together in the same small town and have been playing music together in various ways for 15 years.

The band’s debut full length “Cowards” was written to give the listener an experience that doesn’t repeat itself over 12 tracks. It’s an album that is a heavy and hooky modern take on a classic sound with influences that are everything 90’s in grunge, stoner, alternative, and punk. It was conceived organically, performed and recorded DIY style at the home studio of drummer Zak Waterlow with mastering by Brock McFarlane of CPS studios in Vancouver. The album has a crisp and larger than life sound. With plenty of easter eggs that’ll have you searching for more from each listen.

With influences ranging from Soundgarden to Queens Of The Stone Age and everything else in between, they are ready to deliver to this newborn puppy of hard rock that even the coldest of plaid wearing hipsters can enjoy.

“Cowards” is set for release on April 10, 2020 and will be available on all digital platforms for stream and download along with physical CDs having limited edition artwork painted by Shane Sherman. Each song’s lyrical content revolves around a story and a main character. A painting was depicted for each persona.

Montreal, QC – March 20, 2020

DEMISE OF THE CROWN Premiere Shredding Guitar Playthrough ‘Dying Heat’ via GearGods

New Album “Life In The City” Out April 24, 2020

Montreal, QC’s DEMISE OF THE CROWN are sharing their next single ‘Dying Heat’ with a massive shred attack playthrough by guitarist Manuel Iradian. The video is in support of their forthcoming album “Life In The City” due out April 24th, 2020.

The playthrough video can be viewed via its premiere on GearGods HERE.

Brandish your weapons and bare your teeth in the battle for new world order with Montreal’s metal quintet, Demise Of The Crown. They run the gambit from heavy metal to hard rock weaved together with soaring solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen.

The band’s music, written by Manuel Iradian and Darren Beadman, uses standard pop music songwriting skills to hook listeners into the Demise of the Crown’s infectious and melodic metal sound. Iradian writes all the music, then hands it off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death, and revenge.

Each member has spent their time paying dues in the Montreal metal scene and they have banded together with the same goal and vision of a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal. The current lineup of Beadman (vocals), Iradian (guitars), Kevin Alexander (drums), Simon Doiron (bass) and Vince Doiron (guitar) has been going strong over the years playing a plethora of gigs in their area and releasing their debut self-titled record in 2016.

Demise of the Crown has garnered a reputation for redefining modern metal with a sound that is a melting pot of styles, including the occasional influences of death metal, components of hard rock, groovy riffs and catchy choruses alongside explosive guitar solos topped off with Beadman’s striking vocal techniques and unique tone.

Influenced by headliners like Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, and Faith No More, the band is working their way up the royal bloodline to cause chaos right alongside their heroes.

Demise of The Crown‘s new album “Life In The City” will be available April 24, 2020, current singles ‘My Mind Is Free’ and ‘Fixated’ can be streamed on Spotify along with videos on Youtube (links below).

0 Rockshots Records: Finland’s Sinisthra (ft. Tomi Joutsen of Amorphis) To Release “The Broad and Beaten Way”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 20, 2020

Rockshots Records: Finland’s Sinisthra (ft. Tomi Joutsen of Amorphis) To Release “The Broad and Beaten Way”

Finland’s Sinisthra have signed with Italian label Rockshots Records for the release of their album, “The Broad and Beaten Way”. Best described as sadness tinged with despair and hope, the new album encapsulates raw emotion set against heavy and brooding music.

This album comes 15 years after the debut record “Last of the Stories of Long Past Glories”, and its manifestation has been a slow and arduous process. The songs were written ages ago while other projects, primarily vocalist Tomi Joutsen’s presence in Amorphis, were given priority from the band members.

Guitarist Markku Mäkinen writes the majority of the music for the highly elusive band whose original and complex sound has often been mislabeled. The band explains the evolution of their music:

“We all had a history in thrash and death metal bands, but when the band originally came together in 2000, there was not much metal at all in the sound, it was leaning more towards grunge and at times trip-hop. After the first album in 2005, the sound took a lot more metallic turn and something came in from 70’s prog as well. Metal genres are irrelevant to us.”

The name for the album comes from “Paradise Lost” by John Milton; “The Broad and Beaten Way” is a bridge from Hell to Earth with the lyrics taking inspiration from the fall of man, and from leading a chaotic and self-destructive modern day life and trying to find solid ground and perhaps even some peace of mind. “Eterne” is the first song, where the metaphorical Adam and Eve are expelled, both from Eden and from their union, and in the last song “Ephemeral” Adam, solitary, finally accepts his past actions as futile.

The melancholic sojourn, suitable for fans of Katatonia, Anathema, and Amorphis will be available in May 2020.

The debut record “Last of the Stories of Long Past Glories” is available now on digital platforms:

8. Innocence…In A Sense
9. Completely Incomplete

About:

SINISTHRA comes from Finland and has been in various stages of existence since 1999. Their style of music is basically metal, drawing from a wide source of different influences and blending them to a sound that can’t really be compared to any one single band. Always quite melancholic, most of the time quite heavy, and often with strong shades of 70’s prog with lesser shades of 90’s grunge.

The name SINISTHRA derives from the Italian word sinistra, meaning “the left side” and representing the allegory of creativity, femininity, individuality and general free-thinking pathways of the Left Hand, without the hollow “satanic” or any other religious connotations. The lyrics veer away from most commonly used themes and focus heavily on more personal and intimate subjects. Sinisthra is all about contrasts, frail yet crushing, sad yet content, silent but roaring. Melancholy without utter despair. Darkness tinged with light. Gravel covered with honey. The only dogma is never to acknowledge musical boundaries, and never to use the words “love” and “death” in the lyrics.

The band released one album in 2005, called “Last Of The Stories Of Long Past Glories” to favourable reviews and got labeled “gothic metal”, somewhat misleadingly, but as the singer Tomi Joutsen joined Amorphis, his career skyrocketed and Sinisthra’s didn’t, so due to lack of time from his part, things slowed down.

Now Sinisthra has completed their second album “The Broad And Beaten Way” and are ready to finally release it. The road has been long, winding and mostly uphill, and promises to remain so in the future as well.

One of Toronto’s favourite ambient progressive metal/rock duo Jupiter Hollow announce they will be releasing their new album “Bereavement” on June 12th, 2020 to follow their two highly praised recordings “AHDOMN” (2018) and “Odyssey” (2016).

“Bereavement” is the continuation of the storyline from both previous releases. The band further explains:

“A man with unimaginable global power sends important members of his family and society away to a habitable world outside of our solar system in order to salvage humanity. As capable as this man is of salvaging humanity’s dying society on Earth, he finds more solace in the greed and power he has inherited. Victim of his lifelong internal battle with mental instability, he leaves humanity to extinction on Earth. Struggling with this outcome, he sends himself and his ship aimlessly into space, attempts suicide and crashes on a planet in another solar system. Upon awakening, he realizes where he is, and that he will soon meet the remaining faces that have abandoned him, just as he abandoned them, and they’re hungry.”

The duo of Grant MacKenzie (Guitar, Bass, Synth) and Kenny Parry (Vocals, Drums, Piano, Synth) that form Jupiter Hollow are here to create an artistic experience unlike anything else in the industry. Inspired from the art of storytelling and adventure, they intend on taking you through an in-depth journey through their discography and encourage listeners to join them for every step along the way. Get ready as Jupiter Hollow will take you on a musical tour, from the studio to the stage, and every place in between. They are your tour guides.

About:

We are Jupiter Hollow. Some people consider us to be alternative metal, some people consider us to be progressive rock, and some people just like what they hear. We don’t believe in genre; we believe genre is an excuse to pigeonhole our sound. For us, we prefer to keep our options open.

When you hear Jupiter Hollow you may feel an overwhelming sense of space, arrangement and instrumentation. However, behind the music there are just 2 humans: Kenny Parry and Grant MacKenzie. We met on Earth in the year of 2015 at a musical gathering, where the universe inevitably conceived Jupiter Hollow. Since then, we’ve expressed part one of a conceptual endeavor called “AHDOMN”. This story is to be continued with the release of our new record “Bereavement” on June 12, 2020.

As for what Jupiter Hollow sounds like, that’s for you to determine. We don’t care what we sound like, since we don’t have control over our destiny. Our path is written, but we must walk it. Therefore, the music has already been created in the future, and we are messengers of the present.

We are from Earth, from your future. Moving forward through time is to move forward through space. We are evolutionary descendants of our past, we evolve from our actions. Jupiter Hollow is here to share the missing link of your human existence.

“If Jupiter Hollow are emblematic of the next generation of progressive metal bands, a bright tomorrow lies ahead. Hugely impressive.” - Prog Magazine.

“Without a doubt, Jupiter Hollow are elite musicians. Grant and Kenny know exactly how to captivate an audience with their music.” – Alex CrazyAce, Host/Executive Producer of ‘The Rush’ on VIBE105 FM

“When a prog duo emerges with as much talent as Jupiter Hollow you are entitled to feel excited about the future.” – Maximum Volume Music

“New listeners can expect to go on a musical journey when hearing Jupiter Hollow.” – Barrie Advance
