Grinding the road over the past few months across Eastern Canada, Montreal’s aggro-metal CHÜZO is sharing with fans a three-part video mini-documentary of their adventures during their 2025 ONTARIO AGGRO TOUR in support of their EP “M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay)” released this past November and produced with Kevin Jardine (Slaves On Dope, Uplift Recording Studio).

Capturing the behind-the-scenes and live performances in Oshawa, Toronto, and Hamilton, the videos were taken by CHÜZO drummer Carlos Gutierrez.

“This was an amazing little tour! We would like to thank Karina at Neurotic Entertainment and everyone involved in all three shows. We went, we conquered; and we take a bow to all of you who came to our shows, gave us your support, and purchased some of our merch, to those who moshed, and to those who gave your support to all the bands and your support for original live music. We trudged through the Maximum Threshold of touring, coming out the other side with minimum decay upon our bodies, minds, and souls. We enriched our inner selves with amazing experiences, meeting new people, and laying down the Aggro in three amazing cities in Ontario, Canada. An unforgettable experience all around, thanks once again to everyone involved; until we ride and meet again; Stay Aggro!” adds the band.

CHÜZO‘s new EP “M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay)” is a three-track record that marks the next chapter and a true representation of what the quartet’s sound is meant to be.

“This new EP was to showcase our new lineup with our newest songs that are truly representative of our musical style, a style that we proudly call ‘Aggro-Metal.’ Very aggressive metal songs that have relatable themes that anyone can listen to and understand. This EP is our audio shotgun blast to the world to pay attention to and to mosh intensively during our live sets,” adds guitarist Cristian S.

CHÜZO‘s new lineup features the ensnaring vocals of Taiwanese Brazilian transplant Mischa M joining local first-generation Chilean Canadian and mastermind Cristian S. along with Carlos G from Venezuela and Alex S from Russia who all have found Montreal, Canada to be their home-to-breed their blender of grindcore, Swedish death metal, thrash, and hardcore punk to transform a sub-genre dubbed ‘Aggro Metal’.

The EP’s lyrics are driven by self-reflection and daily struggles. The inspiration for writing comes from life experiences and trying to live past them, especially the traumatic ones. Using all the bad energy from bad experiences to create something positive for yourself and the world. This EP speaks of vengeance and the bad side of dedicating your life to achieving your desired revenge, despite your own life and sanity. Brutal Social Justice.

For fans of Sepultura (Cavalera Bros era 84-96), At the Gates, Napalm Death, Slipknot, and Fuck the Facts, “M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay)” was released on November 15, 2024.

Canadian College Radio Loud Charts – December 2024 – top 20 loud #20 – CHÜZO – M.T.M.D.

“‘A Brazilian vocalist, a Chilean guitarist, a Russian bassist and a Venezuelan drummer walk into a Montreal metal bar’ might sound like the beginning of a borderline funny joke, but it, in a roundabout way, speaks to the christening of thrash, punk, death-beat quartet CHÜZO. The band’s latest EP — M.T.M.D.(Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay) — is the latest in a long line of releases since forming in 2020 and sees the light of day today. The band has a lot to say about their latest endeavour, but fans of old Sepultura, Napalm Death, At the Gates and Fuck the Facts should find something of interest ” – Decibel Magazine

““Bruised and Broken” is definitely a rager. Mischa and Christian belt out the words in a tandem of furious screams and monstrous roars. Behind them, the song discharges high-speed percussive obliteration and punk beats, a violent churn of high-grit riffage, and bowel-loosening bass-quakes. The band also work in mean-eyed slashing chugs, a brutalizing breakdown that seems to get more thuggish but no less head-hooking as the seconds pass, an explosion of boiling and battering grindcore mayhem, and another hardcore beatdown that’s probably a sure-fire mosh trigger in a live show — with Mischa‘s screaming voice still coming for your throat with no-holds-barred intensity. Just this one song proves that for Chüzo the label “Aggro Metal” isn’t false advertising. It’s a gut-slugging, bone-smashing, vocally blistering, and viciously eviscerating outburst, and it also proves to be a pretty addictive piece of rage-fueled catharsis too. Speaking of live shows, the video gives a good sense of what the band’s live sets are about, and a good sense of how much fun they had beating the shit out of things in that rage cage.” – No Clean Singing

“After years of shifting lineups and stylistic tug-of-war, the Montreal-based quartet found the right chemistry with their “Mark III” formation. CHÜZO’s latest EP M.T.M.D (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay) is the first real statement from this version of the band. It’s sharp, pissed-off, and personal.” – IDIOTEQ

“The band has just released M.T.M.D., an acronym that stands for Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay, to testify how high the group’s ambitions are. The perspective could at first glance be assimilated to that of the variegated groove metal universe, but on closer inspection there is much more in the folds of the individual songs, characterized by the desire to release vital energy and give voice to impulses, emotions, feelings. The sound matrix is brutal, at times unstoppable, and characterized by the fierce performance of the gritty Mischa Mai microphones: combining power, imagination and a pinch of healthy madness the quartet gave full demonstration of their qualities.” – Rock Hard Italy

“M.T.M.D is a crucial chapter in Chüzo’s evolution, showcasing a lineup that’s finally found its voice. Their journey is a testament to the transformative power of music and the ability to channel personal struggles into a collective outcry for justice.” – Amplify The Noise

“It might be something of a cliché but it remains true; this isn’t simply an EP. It’s a promo for helping Chüzo find a major label for a debut full length… [8/10]” – Metal Noise

“CHÜZO have achieved several things on “MTMD (Maximum Threshold, Minimum Decay)” that other bands dream of for an entire career. On the one hand, the clever balancing act is impressive between old school credibility and new school influences. A factor that plays a striking role in the overall absolutely high-class work is that Canadians walk in a straightforward and focused manner in the ear. The three songs on the EP entitled “MTMD” are fast-paced in nature, mill into the ear canals at massive speed and –’s most important aspect – remains there… The EP is catchy, intense and yet has matured, multi-layered and serious Half-life to be equipped. Conclusion: Check in, buy, leave, killer!” – Metal Division Magazine

“Their common points: knowing how to intelligently mix the best of grindcore mixed with Swedish death, with a touch of hardcore thrash from a punk perspective. Chüzo calls his music, « Aggro Metal ». The theme of their songs, telling their life experiences, shouting their anger at the traumas experienced. The kind of text that allows you to let off steam and make yourself understood even if you have gaps in English. Chüzo is a sort of best of aggressive metal music with this vengeful punk attitude: Chüzo would be a disciple of Napalm Death. Damn their music is good to hear. For fans of Sepultura and the Cavalera brothers, Chüzo is for you, Cristian S. sings with the same kind of vocal intonation as Max C. For Christmas, I would like Chüzo to tour the old continent within the next 2 years. If I had the means, I would participate financially in their future tour. There are small (et larger) concert halls waiting for you. The day we can do a concert at the Kjbi, Chuzo is automatically on the bill” – Margoth PDF Webzine

Montreal, QC – May 23, 2025

New York’s ARC Takes A “Dark Road” In New Lyric Video Off EP “Awaken The Machine”

Seamlessly fusing the brutality and melody of extreme metal with retro-futuristic synth-wave electronica to create an all-out assault on the senses, New York’s ARC, riding the release of their latest EP, “Awaken The Machine,” is sharing their next lyric video, “Dark Road,” which tells an exaggerated story of overcoming insecurities.

Watch and listen to “Dark Road” at https://youtu.be/m5IslgXbxos

ARC is currently in the works on new music and upcoming show dates to follow their two recent support tour dates with Visions of Atlantis at the end of April in Mechanicsburg, PA, and Brooklyn, NY. Their frenetic live shows are meticulously planned with choreography, custom costumes, specialized stage lighting, props, synchronized on-screen visuals, and the band’s relentless energy in a performance experience that must be witnessed to be believed. Check out their tour recap video at https://youtube.com/shorts/tc4Oi8STM4o

Ambiguously mysterious, ARC is energy and machines. They are human interpretations are on stage playing the music, however, ARC is all around us. Information being transmitted from.. Somewhere in parts of your brain, you didn’t know you had.

Founded on visionary Sonny Angell’s ambition to create a performance-based band with boundary-pushing music, ARC has rapidly established itself as one of the most innovative acts in modern metal. The band’s philosophy, ‘ARC EVOLVES,’ drives their constant reinvention and elevation of their sound and stage presence. Their latest EP, “Awaken The Machine,” released in November 2023, is based on the mind and how a human can process experiences. Some songs explain occurrences of the deep psyche, id, ego, and superego reactions.

Ottawa, Canada’s Marble Ghosts’ sophomore EP “The Greatest Divide” is now available as of May 23rd, 2025, via Self-Made Records L.L.C. with digital distro from Earache Records.

The band is a boundary-pushing ensemble known for its distinctive blend of metal, grunge, and punk influences. Emerging in 2023 onto the Canadian music scene with a distinctive sound and a fierce commitment to challenging societal norms, Marble Ghosts is a band with a message.

Their second EP, “The Greatest Divide,” is inspired by our reality, from the ultra-rich and the shrinking middle class to widening gaps in political and religious ideologies that are beginning to challenge and even erode fundamental human rights. Similar to their first EP, these next five songs in their catalog highlight their diverse influences and styles and seek to lift the marginalized through powerful messaging.

With this release, the band asks, “Are you ready to cross the greatest divide?” It is the type of divide that has splintered friendships and even families, where viewpoints differ so greatly, that we can see one another as enemies- traitors. While this seems bleak, some of the stories told through the lyrics are inspired by people who have crossed the greatest divide. But this wasn’t without hardship, as it was often the threat of losing their loved ones, their mental health, and even their own identity that forced the change.

For the EP’s release day, Marble Ghosts is sharing their new music video for their track “Trafficked (The Devil Inside)”. Featuring one of the band’s signature earworm guitar riffs and as close to a pop chorus as the band will likely ever get, Trafficked’ would be radio-friendly except for the disturbing and dark lyrics.

The song addresses a very serious topic, human trafficking in Canada, a growing problem with no part of the country untouched by this horrendous crime. The majority of the victims are young women between the ages of 18 and 25, but some can be as young as twelve years old. It is a crisis in indigenous communities, who make up 50% of all human trafficking victims in Canada.

The band comments:

“The lyrics and pieces were brought by Paul, our bassist. He wanted to write a song that flowed musically in the same way as “Alone” from our first EP. The song is inspired by human behaviour and how inherently cruel and sadistic our species can be. It’s basically a story about how our worst fears can come true- a child disappears and is never found.

In reality, some of these missing children are circulated in human trafficking rings, and they are subjected to the most horrific conditions. The song details the plight of one of these children, capturing how the child is being broken physically and emotionally, but at the same time, there is a singular voice in the night, asking for the child to have courage and show strength, that there will be someone to bring them home. The great divide for most is to simply acknowledge that this shadowy problem exists. The song aims to create awareness to fight this vile practice that is quickly becoming a global pandemic.”

“Their sound is a unique blend of soft underscoring elements and heavy riffs.” – Decibel Magazine

“We are living in pretty divided times and this is explicitly displayed right from the get-go with the single “Distance Between” A strong opening, it is heavy, furious, and sets the mood for the rest of the record. An intense album you can listen to over and over and still find cathartic release of angst, anger and outreach. This is a solid brand of high-octane alternative rock mixed with an old school metal vibe. 8/10” – Metal Temple

“Marble Ghosts’ latest single, “Distance Between,” is a relentless blast of punk-metal energy that sets the tone for their upcoming EP, The Greatest Divide (April 4th). The track showcases the band’s unique ability to fuse aggression and melody into a seamless and high-octane performance. From its rapid-fire verses to its towering choruses, “Distance Between” never loses its intensity. The song’s razor-sharp guitars anchor the chaos and deliver not one but two blistering solos that elevate the track’s raw power. Meanwhile, the desperate screams layered over the final crescendo inject a tangible urgency that drives home the song’s message about the fractures in modern society. The song’s technical precision and anthemic qualities plus the band’s punk edge keeps the energy raw and unfiltered, evoking a battle cry to confront the growing divides in the world around us. “Distance Between” and Marble Ghosts prove they’re not just pushing genre boundaries. They’re demolishing them.” – Amplify The Noise

“We have been patiently waiting for a new cut from heavy masters’ Marble Ghosts and they have delivered. The new single “Distance Between” lands today and it’s a special one. The first single to be released from their forthcoming album “The Greatest Divide” (April 4th), “Distance Between” accomplishes what every band hopes to…a monumental track that separates itself from everything else. Driving riffs, top tier vocals, a punchy rhythm section and of course solo breaks that just take flight – Marble Ghosts are back and we’re thrilled they exceeded our ridiculously unfair expectations! Catch it on your Home for the Best New Rock… W-J-O-EEEE” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“get these guys in your ear holes” – Rock-N-Review

“When a band is said to be for fans of Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace, this puts a lot of pressure on that band to live up to expectations, especially those of lifelong fan of all of those acts. However, Canadian’s Marble Ghosts have produced quite an exciting debut EP that’s made up of a mix of metal genres from metalcore and grunge to death metal. ‘Lie To Me’ has a heavy bass line intro before thick guitar riffs join in. This intensity is matched by the vocals, which seem to be drenched in emotion and this is what makes it a real must listen on the EP. Whilst the lyrics themselves don’t vary much, they don’t need to, because it feels like this track is about putting across a certain atmosphere rather than writing an epic tale. The band do delve into the political in ‘False Heroes’, where they question outdated thinking with such lines as “boys will be boys, all the while accompanied by an unsettling melody in a minor key. They use their own country’s history to influence this song, which the EP artwork and the band’s name are all linking together. 8/10” Powerplay Magazine UK

EPK – KRATORNAS – God of the Tribes (2025) (Grathila Records)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“I don’t know… If they’re expecting another “superfast brutality” or “sudden excitement,” this album will alienate most of them. Look, Kratornas is done. I’m retired, and I’ve been doing “fast” for the first 15 years, so it’s time to “evolve” and do whatever I want with it now. On this album, I did use instruments that were new to me, like a 7-string guitar for L/R channels, a 6-string fretless bass, and more. It will disappoint them because this one is NOT “fast”, no blast beats, no power chords, no distorted fizzy guitars, all that stuff will not be heard here.

It’s about “BUILD UP” this time. If listened to loud, it’s ENERGY, motivation, and aggressive behavior. If you sit down and listen to, with good headphones, it will bring out a different “experience” because the mix is “moving and breathing” if that makes sense. Kratornas is created by an active person for another active person. It’s not meant to be “experienced” by some lethargic, depressed “dude” with “mental health” issues looking to experience some… “atmosphere”. Kratornas drives “function”: working out, contribute to community, train, fuck some women, etc. I don’t get this “suicidal metal” experience. Never that I encouraged the “fans” to slump inside, watch TV all day, and eat Cheerios. NO! We sleep when we’re dead! If you’re a hyper person, then Kratornas is your jam!” – Kratornas

“Kratornas has returned and have taken large steps in progression with their musical maelstrom of violence.” – Canadian Assault (2017 – Human Livestock 7″ EP)

“What’s even better is that the music doesn’t just move in the sense that a rocket moves. The songs are more than sheer exultations in the thrill of speed and violence. They also change course. They veer into hammering grooves; they bolt into bursts of blood-pumping thrash riffing; they pulse like some kind of laser weapon being triggered. Yes, the songs are often deranged — when Kratornas is in full grind mode, you can imagine oceans of blood spray ejected from a fire hose and bodies being atomized in a frenzied butchery — but there’s impressive intricacy and dynamism in the songs, as well as jaw-dropping technical skill and manifest blood lust.” – No Clean Singing (2016 – Devoured by Damnation LP)

“If you like chaotic, blasting Black Metal, then this is a good bet.” (2016 – Devoured by Damnation LP)

“This album is intense. From start to finish Kratornas is absolutely relentless and have put together one hell of an album with a whole lot of everything in the mix without sounding repetitive.” – Metal At The Gates (2016 – Devoured by Damnation LP)

“While its – drum and guitar/voice – format might suggest similarities with the Inquisition, in sound terms are two quite distinct entities. Here there is a greater degree of chaos and a greater departure from the traditional scene (second wave of black metal) than the one we can find ourselves in Inquisition. Basically it is what would happen if we join powerviolence with black metal. It is something that impresses, without a doubt, but that may have a tendency to tire. Fortunately this does not happen much here because all the themes end up having healthy dynamics, mainly a healthy rib of primitive death metal ( plus an element to join the party) and mainly a solo guitar taken from the breca that looks like a bouncing diabolite. Awesome and surprising album.” – World of Metal Mag (2016 – Devoured by Damnation LP)

About The Album Artwork:

There’s a “slipcase” to conceal the album artwork. It explicitly depicts what is happening now. I call it “comforting” to look at, but anyone can have their own way of “describing” it.

About the album as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

Lyrics are thick with metaphors and open to many interpretations. Musically, this album is unlike the usual Kratornas. Anyone expecting it to sound like early Kratornas will be disappointed. It’s all about build-up this time. There are no sudden loud bangs or sudden excitement.

I have the “gears” now and this brings no limitations. It’s time to move forward, and since I can do whatever I want now, I can say this album is the most natural and most honest album I’ve ever done. It’s the start…

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

1. CURSED SKY SERPENT – The world is in ruins, destroyed by massive natural disasters and man-made weapons. Depicts rain of fire, a flood of blood from an ocean of dead bodies, tornadoes, and lava wiping everything out. The “Sky Serpent” (or Green Comet) is an ancient god returning to end humanity. The lyrics mix old myths with modern “doomsday visions”; f.ex “Heeding the prophecy, Beasts from the sea” were how ancient prophets described visions of the future, unable to recognize aircraft carriers, submarines, and destroyers. What they called “beasts” were just modern machines of death.

2. EVIL AND PLUNDER – This is about the world falling apart. Endless creeping of war and violence. “Demons” rise, plague spreads, and the idea of peace is non-existent. The lyrics talk about secret societies and symbols of ownership hidden in plain sight, with people turned into slaves (as seen on the album cover). It shows a world ruled by pure greed and cruelty, where religion and authority become tools for mass murder, and no one is spared from the coming slaughter.

3. RAVAGED BY HURAKAAN – Describing the world being torn apart on purpose by “hidden rulers” who want to create a new order. Once again depicting war, man-made plague, and economic collapse wiping out humanity. The lyrics paint images of burning nations, bodies dragged to boiling waters, and people hunted like animals. It’s meant to show there’s no hope or salvation but only destruction planned by the higher-ups, leading to chaos and death everywhere. Killing yourself is not an option, it’s a reward!

4. NOVENA PARA GUERRA – This song is a twisted prayer calling for war, ending in a nuclear strike. It depicts deluge, drought, poisoned waters, and suffocating heat waves killing everyone. The chanting dance fertilizing the ground by blood, and singing at the end, makes it known that humanity is worshipping violence, not peace. Visualizes dark decades of dust (fallout), mountains of corpses, and endless battlefields. The message here is: There’s nowhere to run! No Hope! No Life! I HOPE YOU DIE!!

=================================================

FUN FACTS – STORY ANGLES:

1. The album features some unusual instruments, but one remains completely unidentifiable. After it was recorded and warped beyond recognition, I can’t fully explain what it sounds like anymore.

2. Seven-string guitars were used for both left and right channels, each playing differently but locking together as one. 6-string fretless bass – channels raw tribal energy, while the drums pulsing African polyrhythms, pushing everything forward. Layered in the background are some “ominous” keyboards, chimes, and a jaw harp. Expect NO to lesser blastbeats!

3. To create unpredictable riffs, I bought a cheap left-handed guitar, even though I’m right-handed, forcing myself to play completely differently. The riffs were then transcribed back for a regular right-handed guitar, making them sound completely unnatural yet intentional.

4. Bruno Zamora was one of the young drummers at tribal festivals, performing six hours under the sun at each annual event for three years. Encounters with indigenous buskers and their improvised instruments added another layer of influence. Unlike many “tribal” on metal, this album draws from firsthand experience rather than just aesthetics.

5. Sustained guitar sounds remained in the album because the notes rang out for a really long time!

extreme metal entity Kratornas has unveiled the official artwork for the highly anticipated full-length album “God of the Tribes” (mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity)) set for release on August 22nd, 2025, through Grathila Records. In a dramatic departure from previous works, “God of the Tribes” represents a significant shift in Kratornas‘ approach. The mastermind behind the project explains:

“This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be “different” but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension… it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual Kratornas so to anyone expecting it to sound like “early Kratornas” will be disappointed.”

The striking album artwork perfectly complements the thematic elements of the record, which draws heavily from apocalyptic imagery and ritualistic concepts. Along with the artwork reveal, Kratornas has released an album teaser, giving fans their first glimpse into the sonic evolution that defines “God of the Tribes”.

Kratornas, formed in 1995, stands as the pioneering one-man extreme metal act originally from the Philippines and now based in Saskatoon, Canada. With roots tracing back to the underground tape trading scene of the late 1980s, Kratornas has forged its own path through extreme metal, evolving from its early Satanic themes to apocalyptic visions and now to a more nuanced, ritualistic approach with this upcoming release that is recommended for fans of all sorts of black metal.

High intensity, no filler rockers, Calgary’s LOVER announces they will be performing at this year’s Armstrong Metal Fest (July 11/12), one of Canada’s loudest mountain moshpits nestled in the beautiful backdrop of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.

The band is playing in support of their latest EP “Fatal Attraction”, which the thrashback metallers will be releasing on limited edition cassette on June 20th, 2025. “Fatal Attraction” is fast, it’s real, and it’s meant to kick you in the face! Even though the EP is only two tracks, this is a sampler of more to come. The opening title track is an energetic rush of sound that captures the ups and downs of being overwhelmed by desire. The lyrics feed this feeling by talking about lust and substance abuse. Track 2. “Bad Love” lyrically is a tough and mean reality check. It’s based on a true story of love gone wrong. It has aggressive riffs, mean solos, and is meant to capture the strain of a mind in love and turmoil.

“For real though, we used our real-life experiences of love, hardship, and lust to tell a story, and it just happens to be set to the tune of high-energy rock n roll,” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Scorpions, Riot City, Wasp, Judas Priest, Van Halen, and Thin Lizzy, listen to “Fatal Attraction” at the following links:

“The next EP that I am mentioning, this is probably one of my all-time favorite bands right now. The band is called Lover and they are from Calgary, and the EP is called Fatal Attraction, that is my number one EP of this year, these two songs are absolutely heavy rock and roll slingers, and you’ve got to check that out.” – Banger TV – Connor Babin – Top EP of 2024

0 NIGHT’S EDGE Announces New Album “The World That Never Was” Out Aug 2025 + New Music Video “If You Loved Me”

Montreal, QC – May 22, 2025

NIGHT’S EDGE Announces New Album “The World That Never Was” Out Aug 2025

+ New Music Video “If You Loved Me”

Baltimore, MD’s NIGHT’S EDGE announces the release of their fourth studio album entitled “The World That Never Was” this coming August 21st, 2025 to follow their Strangers – LP (2023), Night’s Edge – EP (2022), The Darkest Side of Dreams – LP (2020), and Shades of Dusk – LP (2019).

Since their inception in 2018, the band has gone through a few changes in lineup and sound, and has progressed significantly from their debut in 2019. Falling under the umbrella of Alternative Metal, Night’s Edge‘s sound is hard to pin down. Incorporating influences from gothic metal, progressive rock, and nu metal, the band’s music is equal parts heavy and poppy, soaked in synthesizers and drama. Lyrics breach topics including isolation, dissociation, and the romantic, approaching themes common to the human experience from a cerebral angle that complements the band’s emotionally evocative music.

Night’s Edge believes in creating music that has a purpose. There is no copy-cating of other artists, or following trends here – even the band’s select cover tunes turn the originals on their heads. This is music that you can’t get anywhere else, that has something to say, that is unique and exciting while still feeling familiar, like a friend finishing your sentences when you run out of words.

Their fourth full-length, “The World That Never Was,” is a statement of songcraft and lyricism. The album flows and progresses clearly as it explores the concept of self-identity and the loss thereof. Moments of melancholy, anger, wonder, and plenty of crushing riffs elicit the stank face. Each single shows a different side of the album.

Brian Haran (Vocals, Bass, Keys, Programming) comments:

“We think our fans will love it and agree with us that it is, hands down, the best Night’s Edge album. There will be a lot of different opinions on which song is the best or who prefers this vs that, but all of those conversations will center around this LP. This album encapsulates the Night’s Edge sound we have been building towards while experimenting with new and innovative ideas. Our lead single, “If You Loved Me,” is the most straightforward song, with a massive chorus reminiscent of HIM that continues to build through the song towards an explosive conclusion. “Someone to Stay” is a guitar-forward track with great leads, a killer solo, and very Queensryche-esque vocals. We gave ourselves a challenge for the live shows, and I (singer, Brian) curse myself for recording this song like this every time we play it live. “Smite” is the album’s heaviest song and has major Slipknot and Ghost influences. It is weirdly danceable right up until the Latin choir bridge and eventually descends into IOWA-esque screaming right before a caveman breakdown. “Love Fiction” is unique for Night’s Edge, very Deftones influenced, but with a synthwave twist featuring rare falsetto vocals. The lyrics describe the romanticization of one’s depression as a safe, never-leaving partner, “Songs in Grey Space II: Soaring” is two and a half minutes of balls out symphonic alternative metal and the middle piece in a three song suite detailing a parable of self-identity in an alternate world where the narrator is the last person on earth.”

Night’s Edge has unveiled two singles to date, “If You Loved Me” and album opener “Someone To Stay,” with more to be shared in the lead up to the record’s release in August.

The trio adds about the singles:

If You Loved Me: “All three of us love this song. It has everything – a massive chorus, a scorching guitar solo, and some unexpectedly creepy, heavy sections. A LOT of ground gets covered in under four minutes. The lyrics are a scathing reflection on manipulation, with changing perspectives between the verses and choruses. Above all, the song is inimitably Night’s Edge. This is a sound that you can only get at one place – here, with us.”

Someone to Stay: “This is our guitarist, Damian’s favorite song. The song began with a riff that Damian wrote as an intro lead. When coming up with the intro riff, he was hoping to capture “anime-intro” level energy, and we all agreed that it would make the perfect introduction to the album! Brian took that intro riff and created a very guitar-focused song out of it. The music primes the listener for the progressive compositional journey that is the rest of the album, but the song itself is easily digestible with fun riffs and catchy vocal hooks.”

Rising metal-core act Jawfane has released “Time Hunts Us All”, the second single from their highly anticipated debut EP “Me and All My Demons,” arriving June 26th via Exitus Stratagem Records. The track comes accompanied by a striking visual component that enhances the band’s powerful message. They comment on the single:

“We pushed ourselves musically. ‘Time Hunts Us All” is the fastest Jawfane song by a mile, contains the most vocals, and is in a key we don’t use often. Lyrically, we played off this idea that time was a villain, something you could physically fight, and it was hunting everyone, kinda like the grim reaper. We used the super dramatic differences between the feels in the song as the sonic reference for time, and remember “If time hunts us all, it’s not over yet.”

“Time Hunts Us All” holds a special place in the band’s history, having originally been part of vocalist Austin’s audition material. While Austin didn’t write the lyrics for this particular track, the band notes that ‘he loves his part,’ showcasing the collaborative spirit that defines Jawfane’s creative process.

The video for “Time Hunts Us All” visually represents the band’s mission to create ‘a boisterous, chaotic, clarifying genuine catharsis’, a raw element that connects directly with listeners who feel ‘invalidated, unseen, unheard, unacknowledged’.

This release continues to build momentum toward the June 26th release of “Me and All My Demons”, which was crafted through an organic and democratic process. Reflecting on their artistic direction, Jawfane shares that they wanted to focus on what churns below. To relate to that struggle of being unable to say what was really on your mind when you absolutely had to. Jawfane is recommended for fans of Cane Hill, King 810, and Wage War.

0 THUNDEROR Debut Self-Titled Rock Opera Musical At TORONTO FRINGE FESTIVAL (July 3-12)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 21, 2025

THUNDEROR Debut Self-Titled Rock Opera Musical At TORONTO FRINGE FESTIVAL (July 3-12)

Debut Album “Fire It Up” Out Now! via Boonsdale Records

From 2x JUNO-nominated musician/writer JJ Tartaglia comes ‘THUNDEROR’, an epic rock opera musical (in the vein of Bat Out Of Hell, Rock Of Ages) but with a fresh soundtrack of original anthems. Featuring the actual live band and a star-studded cast, THUNDEROR tells a tale of adventure and romance in the face of mortality, hearkening back to the glory days of arena rock, wild and restless, as a young group of would-be rockers head out on an impromptu adventure in a time of danger and hope.

Presented as part of the 2025 Toronto Fringe Festival, the 75-minute show will see a run of 5 dates at VideoCabaret’s Deanne Taylor Theatre in Toronto, performed in the unconventional format of ‘In The Round’ for an intimate and exclusive experience.

“I guess I’m giving my heavy metal dreams a makeover,” says JJ Tartaglia. “It’s been a crazy undertaking, but I’m absolutely stoked about the show we’ve created. I’m truly blessed to have such an amazing cast and team. Expect an unconventional take on musical theatre! In my mind, it combines the best of both worlds, and I hope that it’ll be enjoyed by all.”

The musical score will debut unreleased material from Thunderor’s upcoming concept album ‘Bleed For It’ to be released this fall. Besides the live band of JJ Tartaglia (vocals/drums), Jonny Nesta (guitar) and Anthony Pannozzo (keys), the production is directed by Liam Eric Dawson (director shadow Come From Away), assistant directed by metal concert photographer Rae Chatten, choreographed by Kristen Pepper (Kinky Boots, Cabaret), and features a veteran cast comprising of Georgia Grant (A Streetcar Named Desire), Jamie Elliott (Shrek The Musical), Tristan Hernandez (Rock Of Ages, Peter Pan), and Stephen Flett (Miracle On 34th Street, Hamlet).

“The bottom line for THUNDEROR is that a listen is urgently required. Those who like the singing will have a lot of fun with the CD” – Vampster

“If you’re looking for a solid rock record that’s equal parts pop and metal, Fire It Up could be your jam. The songs are well crafted, catchy and fun road companions. Take it on your next drive or spin it at Saturday’s kegger. Thunderor takes not being serious very seriously. They recaptured the spirit of 80s rock staples like Ozzy to Journey but also managed to put their own stamp on it. Not many throwback NWOTHM acts succeed in putting this much character in their sound.” – Angry Metal Guy

“The moment I first heard “How We Roll,” I knew I was in trouble…and instantly hooked. Other numbers like “All or Nothing,” “On the Run,” “We Can Make It,” and the epic title track, infuse multiple sub-genres like thrash, power, and synth metal, and are the type of adventurous anthems that make life still feel like it’s worth living even on its darkest of days.” – Rewind It Magazine

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 21, 2025

Vancouver Prog Collective MONIKER Unveils New Single/ Video “Hindsight”

Brewed in a basement suite fueled by the lust for bringing their hometown of Vancouver, BC, something it’s never heard of before, the members of progressive collective Moniker, whom all met as students while attending Audio Engineering school, returns with its next taste of new music, “Hindsight” to follow single “From The Grave” released March 31st of this year and their first self-titled full-length unleashed back in 2021.

“You normally had either brutal death metal or indie rock. Bringing melodic progressive metal to this city was our goal, and we are back to finish it,” adds the band.

Before the digital single for “Hindsight” is officially available on June 6th, 2025, on all platforms, the progressive quintet is unveiling its music video that can be viewed below.

The band comments on the track:

“To those who know us, it will be just as everyone expects, for those who don’t know us, prepare for the unexpected. This single gives a balance between clean melodies and delay-saturated guitar licks, all the way to soul-crushing riffs with gut-wrenching screams. Time flows on and on, whether we want it to or not. Our vision may be clouded, but hindsight is 20/20.”

With its melodic sense, progressive and sizzling heavy riffs, and soaring vocals, Moniker is recommended for fans of Tool, Deftones, Trivium, Leprous, and Killswitch Engage. Watch and listen to “Hindsight” at the following link:
