The one-man act of Toronto’s Malice Divine brings to you the third and final single “Triumphant Return” from the upcoming debut self-titled album.
“Triumphant Return” is the least dark song on the self-titled and also the most uplifting song on the album overall. It still retains the aggressiveness that is present throughout the other eight songs on the offering.
Ric Galvez explains the track in his own words:
“The last of the three singles to be released before the full album, Triumphant Return is by far the most uplifting song on the album. As the song title implies, I was aiming to create a very triumphant feeling from the music with this song. The lyrics of the song further amplify the feeling of triumph that is inherent to this song, dealing with the theme of overcoming all obstacles that you face in life and bouncing back stronger than ever.”
The lyrics explored on the self-titled album are actually quite personal and deal with Ric Galvez’s thoughts and feelings regarding his life experiences. They are an outlet for self-expression, while also exploring topics such as spirituality and psychology with an underlying theme of personal empowerment.
The self-titled debut album was recorded at Monolithic Productions in Oshawa, Ontario by Tyler Williams beginning in January 2020. After the recording process had concluded, the album was re-amped and mixed by Tyler Williams and then Mastered by Lasse Lammert of LSD-Studio in Germany. This album is an excellent example of time during the Covid-19 pandemic being put to good use.
Melodic and captivating with a good blend of heavy styles, Malice Divine is recommended for fans of Death, Dissection, and Immortal.
“Triumphant Return” can be heard via its vocal/guitar playthrough premiere on GearGods HERE.
The full album “Malice Divine” drops on February 19, 2021.

About:
Toronto, Canada’s Malice Divine is a solo project contrived by Ric Galvez who had always had the dream of entire creative control. He wanted to expand beyond being known as just as a lead guitarist. Ric Galvez has played in local bands previously and was a contestant on Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal Seasons 1 & 2.
Ric Galvez has a major in music from York University and through Malice Divine he shows off his prowess across instruments. His lyrics are inspired by psychology, and spirituality, as well as personal experiences especially those involving the overcoming of obstacles and hardships using the resulting verses as a form of empowerment.
The first offering from Malice Divine, a self-titled full length, comes in 2021 with Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Iomair) playing session drums. There are plans to flesh out a live lineup for Divine Malice when the time is right.
What people can expect from seeing Malice Divine live is highly aggressive black and death metal inspired music with shreddy and virtuosic guitar solos adding a melodic layer that isn’t common in the genre.
Malice Divine’s self-titled debut album is due out February 19, 2021.

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Guitarist / Keyboardist Shares Epic Cover Video “Cliffs of Dover” (Eric Johnson)
Progressive/Power Metal Quartet Immortal Guardian’s Concept Album “Psychosomatic” Out February 12, 2021
via M-Theory Audio

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)
IMMORTAL GUARDIAN guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian, well known on the YouTube universe for his incredible multi-instrumental cover videos, is sharing his latest rendition of Eric Johnson‘s Grammy Award winning single “Cliffs of Dover”, which can be viewed HERE.
Gabriel Guardian adds:
“I’ve always been absolutely fascinated by this song. It’s one of a kind in its composition, tone, phrasing, and all around badassery. Eric Johnson, you sir are a genius. Thank you for inspiring me as a young Texan guitarist. I covered this song in my 8th-grade talent show and from then to even now, it never got any easier, but my passion and feeling towards every note felt the same! I love how some songs with no lyrics can pull so much emotion and nostalgia outta me. Happy to have finally had the time and skill to do a proper video for this epic song.”

After winning over new audiences with their acclaimed 2018 debut full-length “Age of Revolution” and touring relentlessly alongside fellow shredders such as Marty Friedman, Powerglove, and Exmortus, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas last year to begin recording their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, each member of the band retreated to their respective hometowns. With shutdowns around the world being enforced, the band completely scrapped the record that they had been working on and were heavily inspired to write and create a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events.
“Psychosomatic” is a product of the extraordinary events of 2020. The result is a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian remaining in Las Vegas, vocalist Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, new drummer Justin Piedimonte joining the band from his hometown in Montreal, Canada, and new bassist Joshua Lopez remaining in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s native Texas.
The group, founded by Gabriel Guardian, whose uncanny ability to play guitar and keyboard simultaneously has been showcased on MTV’s “Amazingness” along with his unique dual-instrument covers of classics by the likes of Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Guns N’ Roses have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and have been built upon the band’s following through multiple self-released EPs before signing with M-Theory Audio for the 2018 release of their first full-length record, “Age of Revolution”. The band has also performed live alongside some of the biggest names in metal, including Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Kamelot, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Slayer, Metal Church, Soilwork and Steve Vai, and in countries such as Brazil and Russia, and during high-profile performances at ESPN’s X Games, South By Southwest and the Fun Fun Fun Fest.
“Psychosomatic” is the next step in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s evolution while still capturing the band’s exhilarating trademark melding of melodic power metal with progressive/shred tendencies.
Digital pre-save, CD and limited-edition purple vinyl pre-orders for “Psychosomatic”, which will be released by M-Theory Audio on February 12, 2021 are available now at http://smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

“With this album (Psychosomatic) Immortal Guardian should no longer be seen as a promising band. Not only have they shown that they have an enormous compositional quality and an elite technical level, they have also shown that they are a band that faces difficulties and that they have all the will to continue. Making a high-quality second album two years after their dazzling debut tells us about the enormous inner power these musicians have.” – Metal Rules
“Psychosomatic is the impressive new full-length album from North American power metal act Immortal Guardian. Every song is listenable on its own, and over the course of the entire album there’s a good track-to-track ebb and flow. I strongly recommend ‘Psychosomatic’ and would like to rate it highly overall… super talented musicians who have put out a fantastic second album in Psychosomatic – the music here is consistently first rate and that will never change.” – The Great Metal Debate
“Holy fucking shit, man. Talk about epic… Immortal Guardian make some seriously epic symphonic power metal that throws in elements from all over the metal spectrum. We have power metal highs and death metal screams on top of keyboards and even some djenty staccato riffs here and there. It’s a different take on epic metal and it’s definitely something that will interest you… I’m not sure I’ve heard anything quite this varied before but I’ve gotta say I dig it.” – Metal Sucks
““…vocalist Carlos Zema (ex-Outworld) has an amazing range and more passion for delivering heavy words than 98% of active power vocalists out there.” – Your Last Rites

“Beneath This Crown is in our opinion the most innovative and modern record we ever made. The creative process for each track has been very meticulous and nothing has been left to chances. It blends the melodic and experimental part of Reality Grey with the most brutal and aggressive side of the band.” – Reality Grey

“Melodic, aggressive and catchy, this track adds (Multidimensional Hollow) well placed synths and ambiance to an already well rounded sound, making it complex without being overcomplicated. The new album shows a marked evolution in the band’s sound, something that will intrigue current fans and entice new ones.” – Metal Injection
“Beneath this Crown, a creative step forward in their combination of NWOAHM from the early aughts, At the Gates-inspired metalcore and Scandinavian-flavoured melodic death metal.” – Decibel Magazine
“Reality Grey give off a viciousness and expertise hard to find in other bands. The instrumental expertise of each component is absolute, slighting touching tech-death side of acts like The Faceless but remaining ‘catchy’ in their complexity” – Metal Hammer
“It’s complete and total aural devastation with some seriously chunky moments, so it lives right up to what you’d expect a song called “The Void” to do.” – Metal Injection
“Reality Grey will serve the world of metal excellently both as an all round, no nonsense, metal act and as a brigde band for younger fans of heavy music” – Metalunderground.at

Album and Live Band Line Up:

Alberto Pinto – Guitars
Alex Giustino – Bass
Francesco Inchingolo – Drums
Track by Track Explained:
1 – Legion: An orchestral intro with some Orwellian-like speech
2 – Fade In Fear: Fast, razorsharp riffs with a melodic chorus and light-speed guitar solos. Groovy.
3 – Kings Of Nothing: A groovy and brutal intro with crazy riffs, gives way to a “spacey” interlude with a fusion guitar solo.
4 – Preachers Of Hatred: The most brutal song of the album. Slayerish intro gives way to a groovy and jazzy pre-chorus. Insane drumming and a very heavy finale.
5 – Daybreakers: Progressive riffing in the intro, the double bass goes in unison with the guitars, vocals a-la Meshuggah, super spacey chorus with clean vocals. A nice progressive bridge takes the song to a very melodic fusion guitar solo.
6 – Powerblast: Very groovy song, guitars and drums are a monolithic wall of sound. Evil riffs in the final part. Brutal.
7 – Multidimensional Hollow: The most progressive song on the album. Very melodic and complex with light fast guitar solos and an epic finale.
8 – The Fury: Groovy and fast. It starts with a riff a la Breaking Benjamin that results in a old school hardcore chorus.
9 – Dreaming (Feat. Milly Florio of End Of Skyline): Intro Pantera style, the verse, and the chorus are completed with the amazing voice of Milly Florio from the band End Of Skyline that perfectly matches the brutality of Tommy’s voice. The dreamy final part will urge you to listen to the song again. A very experimental tune.
10 – Reascent: Progressive riffing in the intro gives way to an HC verse and chorus. Very evil bridge before the guitar solo.
11 – Beneath This Crown: The title track has different feels, super thrashy at the beginning, doomy special and crazy guitar solos.
12 – Indelible Stains: Super heavy intro guitars and drums makes a wall of sound. The lyrics on the song are some of our favourite ever.
13 – The Void: This song has a metalcore feel, clean vocals chorus and huge breakdowns.
L-R – Francesco Inchingolo (Drums), Alex Giustino (Bass), Tommaso Montenegro (Vocals), Anto Addabbo (Guitars/Clean Vocals), Alberto Pinto (Guitars)
Hailing from South Italy, Reality Grey stands tall in the Italian metal scene. Formed in 2004, Reality Grey began their quest to redefine melodic death metal. As a tight-knit 5 piece band, Reality Grey incorporates a modern hybrid of extreme music: melody, brutality; blending complex, yet catchy songwriting. Fearsome death growls & clean vocals give way to razor-sharp guitar riffs and fusion-oriented solos, Reality Grey set out to create something all their own.
With the release of the debut full-length album “Darkest Days Are Yet To Come” in 2006, in the heat of the melodic death metal revolution, Reality Grey managed to secure their first record deal with Razar Ice Records USA. Songs like “Reality Grey” and “Never again” racked up hundreds of thousands plays on the old MySpace allowing the band to tour, gaining popularity well beyond the Italian borders. Following up with EP “Day Zero”, Reality Grey began to push their own boundaries. Ferocious, yet melodic, with a no-holds-barred songwriting attitude. Songs like “Day Zero” and “Slavery” emerged the band’s experimental side, synths, melancholic pianos, and acoustic guitars; perfectly fused with intoxicating sonic aggression.
After years of non-stop touring alongside bands like Deicide, Unearth, Municipal Waste, Sadist, Malevolent Creation, and more, the critically acclaimed “Define Redemption” is released by Bakerteam/Scarlet Records; sending the band on their first headline tour in Japan. Reality Grey, now having been featured on worldwide publications Metal Injection, Metal Hammer UK, Metal Temple, and Metal.de, released 2018’s “The Void”. Reviewed as “a complete and total aural devastation…” that “will blow your speaker out” by Metal Injection.
Reality Grey has completed work on their upcoming full-length due out May 7th 2021 (Blood Blast Distribution powered by Nuclear Blast). Looking ahead with tours and festival appearances on their sights, Reality Grey will continue to push ambitiously, earning their place among the pantheon of heavy music.
Now, having inked a worldwide deal with Extreme Management Group (EMG), the band says “We’re thrilled to announce that we have started working with Extreme Management Group! Definitely the right place for us. Big news is coming very soon. Stay tuned!” EMG said, “We are excited to be working with Reality Grey. They have some really fantastic music. We expect big things to come from this partnership.”.

0 Manuel Barbará Presents His Progressive Metal Album “Moonrise”, Guitar/Bass Playthrough Premiere For Title Track via TheProgSpace

Manuel Barbará Presents His Progressive Metal Album “Moonrise”
“Moonrise” Guitar/Bass Playthrough Premiere via TheProgSpace
Album Out March 19th, 2021

New Jersey’s Manuel Barbará is releasing his debut album “Moonrise” this coming March. The first single for this full length is the title track.
Featuring seven instrumental tracks of classically inspired progressive metal, Manuel Barbará puts a conscious effort into making each song into a cohesive, well-composed whole rather than a collection of flashy guitar tricks.
This recording features songwriter Manuel Barbará on guitars and programming, Nick Thorpe on bass along with Joey Ferretti on drums. The album is designed to take the listener on a journey through a series of loosely interconnected sound worlds that Barbará has created. He explains the single “Moonrise”:
“It was actually the first complete piece I ever wrote that I was really happy with. It has gone through many revisions since then, but it is still special to me as that first one. I wanted to make something big and epic and heavy with just enough of a weird edge to keep people interested. Funnily enough, the chorus riff, which seems to be everyone’s favorite part, was supposed to be a throw-away idea that I was going to replace later, but it stuck around.”
According to Barbará, this album is the first step towards his longtime goal to take his training as a classical composer and apply it to this style of modern metal that he loves so much in a way that goes beyond the standard Yngwie “neo-classical metal” thing.
A treat for anyone who enjoys imaginative progressive metal, “Moonrise” is highly recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Keith Merrow, and Periphery.
The single “Moonrise” can be heard via its premiere on TheProgSpace HERE.

Rockshots Records: Cellar Twins New Music Video “Selfear” Off Re-Released Album “Duality” Out Now!

Belgian melodic rockers Cellar Twins are re-releasing their highly acclaimed album “Duality” via Rockshots Records today, January 29th. To celebrate the event, the band is also sharing the new video “Selfear”, available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gTqXf1xk6kE
“Selfear” is a punchy song that questions the fact of being versus pretending to be, as well as the difference between what is shown and what is felt. It’s about living underneath a mask and the irreversible damages it can create.
Listen to “$olace”:
Youtube: https://youtu.be/lonTB1YaPFo
Spotify: http://spoti.fi/39nAxKL
Apple Music: https://apple.co/34cwZJo
A combination of ten infectious hook-laden tracks that blends raging modern instrumentals with powerful yet clear vocals, “Duality” can be enjoyed by laidback rockers to full-on metalheads. Fans of their 2017 EP, which was more rock/hard rock-oriented will notice the band has taken a heavier path regarding the songwriting while retaining clarity in the vocals, which has become their unexpected trademark combination.
Depiction of life itself with all its uplifting and crushing moments, expressed with anger, fear, joy, and doubts, “Duality” is a deep internal exploration where two messages arise. The first one being that each story always has two sides and the second one being, that even when going through hell, hope must always prevail.
“Duality” is now available on all the major physical and digital stores:

Oshawa’s Maitreya have a new album “Hyper Reels” coming out in June 2021. The first single from the album is “Catalyst” out on January 29, 2021 complete with a music video. Dimensional and visceral, fans familiar with the first self-titled album will be excited with the new works. Everything has evolved, the songwriting is more refined and the instrumental features more complexity and dynamic range, vocals are given more space to truly shine, the production contains new electronic aesthetics.
Through trial and error on stage, the band’s sound has matured exponentially, with a harmonic palette that has stretched past the typical confines of metalcore. This open harmonic foundation provides more options sonically for vocals and lead guitar to explore melodically. Rhythmically, the band has gone deeper into exploring complex polyrhythmic ideas, polymetric patterns and odd time signatures.
The single “Catalyst” was the last song written for the album and is a favourite of the band. It features signature Maitreya song devices like; riff-heavy sections, clean-ambient moments, big breakdowns, melodic lead passages, anthemic chorus vocals, a drum solo and progressive exploratory song structure. The band explains the track further:
“We wrote this song about our guitarist Mark and his catalyzing role in bringing the band together, Mark’s dedication to the band in being able to organize various elements of writing, recording, and performance cannot be understated. In the same spirit, this is a song that has a very grateful and optimistic tone. It highlights many of the macro elements people can expect throughout the rest of the album. At the time this song was written, our guitarist Mark was going through cancer treatment. This form of near death experience forced us to introspectively evaluate the deeper meanings of our relationships.”
A slick and immersive experience for new and returning fans alike, Maitreya is recommended for fans of The Contortionist, Between the Buried and Me, and Protest the Hero.
The single “Catalyst” is out on January 29, 2020, and its music video can be viewed via its premiere on NewFuryMedia HERE.

“Lead-heavy, yet at the same time musically complex, Maitreya’s music is sonic baptism, taking the listener from the fire pits to the icy peaks. The band’s self-titled album weaves an intricate melodic narrative, where both headbanging metal-heavy riffs and reflective vocal lines co-exist in the vortex of sonic alchemy, presented to the listener in its raw, unfiltered elemental form.” – Dentata Music

Calgary’s Osyron released their new album “Foundations” during July 2020. The record is an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity, speaking on topics on the country’s colonization to the mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to the country’s participation in global warfare. Although it is not a conceptual release, it does bear a consistent theme across nearly the entirety of the record. For fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun; Osyron is progressive, powerful metal with a knack for engaging storytelling.
Today, the band presents their new music video for “The Cross”, it’s a track that reflects on Canada’s history of colonialism and extreme religious expansion in its early birth by the European superpowers of the 16th and 17th centuries. Large populations of both English and French settlers found themselves amongst a free run, “lawless society” of First Nation sub-groups, which gave way to a ruthless chess match of assimilation and warfare; while unfortunately bringing both together many times.
The band adds:
“This song looks back on how both religion and early extreme nationalism played a role in the branding of an ethnic group of people that were caught off guard by what was to come over the next four centuries.”

About:
Osyron is a symphonic metal band based in Calgary, Alberta. The group consists of vocalist Reed, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey. Bridging the gap between traditional European metal and the music of their homegrown contemporaries, Osyron has a sound all their own.
The band’s origins can be traced back to Ontario, where they began under the name Morbid Theory. After releasing two demos (Chaos Breed in 2006 and Harbinger in 2010), the band underwent some changes in membership, scenery, and identity. Moving to Alberta in 2012, the group, now rechristened Osyron, re-recorded Harbinger in Calgary, and released the album in 2013.
After releasing their sophomore album, “Kingsbane”, in the fall of 2017, the momentum that followed was swift. “Kingsbane” caught the attention of the European metal community – proving a favourite of audiences, critics, and radio programmers.
In 2018, Osyron released a metal cover of the Canadian national anthem, which picked up speed across the country. This patriotic theme continues into the new album “Foundations” (2020). Stemming from a perspective of Canadian identity and culture – both past and present, the new album challenges the global perspective of the great white north by retelling historical moments in an immersive and melodic manner. Speaking on topics of Canada’s colonization to the mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to the country’s participation in global warfare.
Performing alongside numerous major acts such as Norther, Protest The Hero, Into Eternity, Threat Signal, and The Agonist, Osyron’s next goal is to take their sound across the Atlantic in the flesh.
”Foundations” is due out July 10, 2020, and will be available on all major digital platforms.
