NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 12, 2022

Rockshots Records Signs 17 CRASH For Release of Fourth Studio Album “Stamina”

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Tuscan, Italy’s 17 Crash for their fourth studio album “Stamina” to be released Winter 2022.

Driven by the passion of drummer Phil Hill and singer Ros Crash, 17 Crash began their crazy journey back in 2011.

At an earlier stage of their career, 17 Crash were a true and vibrant synonym of vintage 80s LA Glam Rock Style: big hair, leather pants and loud guitars. Distinctive attire and growling sounds finally merged into the debut album “Reading Your Dirty Minds” (2015). Right after their first release, the band toured extensively throughout the Italian peninsula while making sure the name of the band was being heard.

Evolving and exploring new sounds, it didn’t take that long until they found what they were looking for with the release of the second studio album “Hit The Prey” (2018). Finding the right balance between the 80s sound and modern AOR, the new record marked a significant turning point both in terms of musicianship and career approach.

Another two years of touring passed until a further stage of evolution with their third album “Through Hell And Back” (2020) reconfirming previous collaboration with long-esteemed colleagues Alessio Lucatti in production and Simone Mularoni for mixing and mastering. The third chapter written by 17 Crash featured groovy heavy riffs, polished sounds and even sharper tunes, effectively establishing the band as a true landmark not only within national borders, but in the international hard & heavy landscape as well.

2022 will witness the release of the fourth album “Stamina”, a much more complex and profound piece of work written entirely during the endless lockdowns from the 2020 pandemic that the world experienced. It will be 80s rock crossed with a particular duality between human struggle and the will to fight and resist against all the odds. It might seem that 17 Crash have come a long way, but rest assured they are just warming up for what’s to come.

For this band’s new adventure, 17 Crash also announces a new member to the family: bassist Alba Nasoni, alias The Mess Mistress.

Rockshots Records – SANDNESS Have “No Filter” w/ New Music Video For New Album “Play Your Part” Out May 2022

New Album “Play Your Part” Out May 2022

Italian classic 80’s hair metal-inspired band SANDNESS will be releasing their fourth studio album entitled “Play Your Part” this coming May 2022 via Rockshots Records. The album follows their two previous released records on Rockshots Records, 2020 EP “Enter Please (2020) and 2019 LP “Untamed”.

The new album is produced, mixed and mastered by Michele Guaitoli and features twelve original tracks including a bonus cover version of KISS’ “Turn On The Night”. The lyrics written for the full length give an insight into how the band kept themselves busy and entertained during the first lockdown in the spring of 2020.

The band comments:

““Play Your Part” is a different kind of animal from our previous releases, due to the lockdown, we had more time to think and work on the songs. We also worked a lot more with our producer Michele, who helped us bring our music to the next level. The new album is more mature and inspired by different styles: hard rock, classic rock, heavy metal, 70’s rock n’ roll, but also pop music from different decades. Overall, we want people to feel good when they listen to our songs. We feel our music brings you to a dimension where everything is solvable with some dance moves or some headbanging. Give you the bright side of things to escape the difficult times.”

Today, SANDNESS shares the second single off the full length. Entitled “No Filter”, it is another 70’s-inspired song, but with a message about today’s present.

“This track was written to remind us all of how fake we all are when it comes to social media. Have you ever taken more than 30 selfies just to delete them all because none of them is good enough, not even after all the editing? This song is for you!” adds the band.

0 Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST’s New Music Video Searches For The “Orphan Planet” Off Upcoming Self-Tilted Album Out April 2022

Montreal, QC – April 8, 2022

Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST’s New Music Video Searches For The “Orphan Planet”

Debut Self-Titled Album Out April 15, 2022

Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) will be inviting fans into their galaxy of wonder with the release of their self-titled debut album on April 15th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

Today, they share their next odyssey in the exploration for the “Orphan Planet”, which is the fifth single off the forthcoming record. Having already introduced fans to singles “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt”, “The Last Ganymedian”, “Requiem For An Ancient World” and “3 Suns”.

“Orphan Planet is a more proggy track. The riffs are complex, but the song has also fast and catchy melodic phrases. Around the end, the song gets heavier and heavier with a powerful falsetto vocal section. What if an orphan planet would enter our solar system? And what if this planet would have traces of an extinct alien form of life?” adds the band.

Listen to “Orphan Planet” at the following links:

Music Video – https://youtu.be/Ms6T3CwOspY

Birthed to travel the cosmos, Italy’s Vanderlust is a power-heavy metal band with prog-thrash influences that tells tales of space travels, astronomy, space engineering, and sci-fi adventures.

“We tried to mix a prog-thrashy riffing in the roots of Megadeth, Vektor, and Tool with epic vocal parts like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Angra, and Lione’s Rhapsody. We also put sci-fi elements in our songs, so you can hear also something from Voivod.” adds the band.

This debut recording is like a stellar system with 12 different planets. The star at the center of the system represents the heavy-power metal around all the songs revolving. Despite all the tracks being irradiated by the same light, they are all different from each other. Vanderlust has fast thrash, slow and doom, shiny and brilliant to grunge, and darker songs. Like planets, which appear like simple small bright spots, but in reality, are all big worlds, Vanderlust‘s songs are more complex than they sound at first listen. In fact, you can easily sing along to some of the choruses even if there are complex riffs in the background. Vanderlust is particularly proud of the participation of opera singer Letizia Cappellini who does vocals on select tracks and helps the band further expand the vocal register of their compositions. The band also adds the presence of synths and electronic elements to the compositions to set the sci-fi mood of the lyrics.

“The main goal was to start a metal band that could be an inspiration for young people, a band that could tell them stories from the future when mankind will have overcome its limits and the solar system will be an entire human colony. This idea came to mind to founding members Francesco and Santo when they began their search for other members that could fit. Drummer Giacomo Mezzetti joined the space odyssey right before the covid-19 outbreak. Vocalist Riccardo Morello joined the band during the first lockdown in Italy, so the first song was entirely composed online, using videocalls and file sharing.” adds the band.

For their live aspect, Vanderlust is currently working hard to create a thrilling spectacle, giving all their energy to the fans and letting them join them on the space journey.

Vanderlust is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Angra, Tool, Helloween, and Vektor.

Rockshots Records – Out Now! THEIGNS & THRALLS New Album + Music Video “Today We Get To Play”

Featuring Album Guests From Korpiklaani, Ensiferum And More!

Album Out April 8th, 2022

Theigns & Thralls, the brainchild of Skyclad vocalist and songwriter Kevin Ridley, are celebrating the release of their debut self-titled album via Rockshots Records with a new music video for the track “Today We Get To Play”.

“This is one of the oldest tracks I wrote for this album. It is a ‘back on the road again’ track and went through a few changes of lyrics until I was happy with the story. It is also based on the quote by John Lennon that ‘life is what happens to you, while you are busy making plans. Again, it is an up-tempo singalong type of track to celebrate getting out and playing live (of course, made relevant given the recent pandemic restrictions).” adds Ridley.

Watch the video at https://youtu.be/qo2vYCBmsAk

Theigns & Thralls was created by Skyclad vocalist and songwriter Kevin Ridley. Originally, it was intended to be an ‘occasional band’ to perform songs from Ridley’s back catalogue of songs from Skyclad and his solo album while working around Skyclad’s touring plans. However, when the 2020 global pandemic struck, his plans changed. Being stuck in lockdown, the project became a collaborative recording project building on a few demo ideas. At first, musician friends were contacted to add a bit of violin here and a whistle there. But then things gathered momentum and friends of friends were also asked and players across Europe joined to contribute. The response was, to say the least, overwhelmingly positive and, in the end, twenty-five musicians from bands such as Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Cruachan, Waylander, Celtibeerian, and Metal De Facto as well as solo musicians (new and old acquaintances of Ridley) contributed everything from drums, bass, guitar, violin, whistles, bagpipes to hurdy-gurdy and vocals.

“I think that because a lot of the album was written and recorded in a fairly short space of time, there is a certain feel and continuity to it. There is a blend of Celtic Speed-Punk, Folk-Metal and Classic Rock influences. Added to that, in terms of lyrical content, there is a strong appreciation of history, literature and humanism that comes together.” adds Ridley.

The name Theigns & Thralls (which basically means masters and servants) was settled on and it was also decided to make an eponymous album so that Theigns & Thralls was the band’s name, the name of the album, and the name of one of the songs. This was to help clarify the band’s ’mission’ or ‘raison d’etre’.

As well as putting out the album and videos, the next phase of the band’s evolution will be to put together a ‘touring band’ when permitted, not only to do what was originally intended, but also to perform the new original songs – perhaps with a few guest artist appearances – and to become a force in their own right.

Canada’s HYPERIA, formerly of Calgary, AB, and now residing in Vancouver, BC recently unleashed their second full-length album “Silhouettes of Horror” on March 18th. The record is a fast, melodic, and heavy-hitting thrasher that lyrically explores parapsychology, night terror hallucinations, and inhumane government experiments.

Today, in support of the album, Hyperia premiere their latest shredtastic guitar playthrough video for the track “Experiment 77” along with an interview with husband and wife members Colin and Marlee Ryley via Decibel Magazine HERE.

“Silhouettes of Horror” was produced by guitarist Colin Ryley with mastering done by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland (Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Battle Beast). The album features ten original songs and a cover of ABBA‘s classic hit “Gimme Gimme Gimme”. Old and new fans of thrash, NWOBHM, and power metal will appreciate this 50-minute mosher. From its relentless opening track “Hypnagogia” to the super melodic and anthemic “Prisoner of The Mind” to the punchy and hard-hitting “Operation Midnight”, there’s something for every denim patch wearing metalhead to enjoy.

They also recruited good friend and session drummer Gord Alexander (Tessitura, Tides of Kharon, Immunize) for its recording, and for the album’s artwork, they enlisted once more Andrei Bouzikov (Municipal Waste, Skeletonwitch, Toxic Holocaust).

About:
HYPERIA (originally from Calgary, AB now based in Vancouver, BC) is a Melodic Thrash Metal band known for their wailing vocals, shredding guitars, and fast, heavy music. Formed by Colin and Marlee Ryley in September 2018, they found 3 members from the local metal community and hit the ground running. Since the release of their debut EP “FISH CREEK FRENZY” in 2019, HYPERIA has been thrashing venues and taking the Western Canadian metal community by storm.

In April 2019, HYPERIA announced their signing SLIPTRICK RECORDS, who released their debut full-length album “INSANITORIUM” in January 2020. The band celebrated their release to a 300 person sold-out show in their hometown of Calgary, Canada.

Later that year, the band announced the departure of their previous drummer Jordan Maguire, while at the same time revealing the commencement of their second record “SILHOUETTES OF HORROR” with session drummer Gord Alexander (Tessitura, Tides of Kharon, Immunize). The album was completed in June 2021 and is due out in March 2022.

=====

“If you prefer your metal loud, dark and just a touch campy (and who doesn’t?), then Calgary-turned-Vancouver rockers Hyperia are planning to deliver with Silhouettes of Horror, the follow-up to 2020’s equally furious and equally fun Insanitorium. First single “Operation Midnight” is an unrelenting barrage of riffage held down by Marlee Ryley’s throat-blistering vocals.” – Exclaim! – One of Exclaim!’s most anticipated albums of 2022

“Energetic, melodic, fast, psychotic, and dynamic are just some of the elements that make Silhouettes of Horror an album that old and new fans of thrash, NWoBHM, and power metal will appreciate. The band even included a cover homage of Abba’s Gimme Gimme Gimme.” – Sentinel Daily

“All in all, Silhouettes of Horror gave me what I want for from a modern melodic thrash album. It’s fun, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it’s got cool stories to tell.” – Angry Metal Guy

“an addictive brand of primal thrash” – Dead Rhetoric

“This is one of the most exciting thrash albums I have heard in a fair few years. Hyperia have absolutely smashed it delivering an album that just keeps giving insane quality, track after track. 9/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Closing things out with an addictive-to-listen Abba cover, Hyperia ultimately showcase that while they’re here to bring all the notions of devastation and velocity to your current surroundings, they never forgot you need to have a little fun from time to time.” – The Razor’s Edge

“Marlee Ryley has a raw wail and a vicious scream that both play into this particular style extremely well, and it makes the whole package super enticing.” – Toilet ov Hell

“this album is the perfect blend of terror and thrash that blends well to create something uniquely familiar. It hits all the musical notes you’re after, while still indulging in a few out of this world solos and combos that are to die for.
With the latest release “Lettin’ It Fly!” available for listeners around the world, Ohio’s Turbo Lovers are continuing to deliver extraordinary rock done extraordinarily well. This latest album is fresh and full of the most completed and focused material that the band has written so far. For the new record they employed producer Dave Piatek and for the first time, they had another set of ears for the full-length, which pushed them to a whole new level. Today, they present their latest music video for the single “Should’ve Known Better”.

“When it came time to do the video, we didn’t want to do a literal interpretation of the song, so we did a fun video game throwback to the days of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. We included some of our favorites from the original NES and made the video about getting pissed off at the games, which I think everybody can relate to if they were ever a gamer at any point.

Musically, it’s a super anthemic, up-tempo, and catchy tune. Lyrically, a lot of people will probably think that it references being in a bad relationship, and the lyrics could certainly read that way. It’s actually a really hooky tune about getting hooked on drugs, something that happened to me (and that’s happened to about a billion other people), after a bad car accident and more than a year’s worth of ultra-cheap painkiller prescriptions. It was pretty awesome until the drugs ran out. Then it was a total pain in the ass being hooked on something you once needed but now we’re also physically dependent on.” adds B.J. Lisko (Guitar/Vocals).

Watch “Should’ve Known Better” via its premiere on SonicPerspectives HERE.

Turbo Lovers began as a recording side project back in 2003 for guitarist/singer B.J. Lisko to express his love for rock, arena rock, and 80s rock, and to fill a regional need for a band of that style in Northeast Ohio. They are named after the Judas Priest song and sometimes get confused as a Judas Priest tribute band, especially when playing with tribute acts. What they are… is down-to-earth rockers looking to provide the soundtrack for a great time. They have a blast when they play live, and the audience easily picks up that vibe when they hit the stage.

Recommended for fans of Danko Jones, Backyard Babies, and AC/DC, “Lettin’ It Fly!” was released on February 4, 2022, and is available for download at Turbolovers.bandcamp.com, Apple Music, and Spotify.

About:

Turbo Lovers is a rock ’n’ roll power trio from Youngstown, Ohio that’s equal parts bravado, swagger and fun. Often chastised for taking their name from what some consider the worst Judas Priest album in history, the band’s sound is more akin to AC/DC, The Wildhearts, and Kiss than the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Gods. But yeah, there’s a little Priest in ‘em, too.

“Lettin’ It Fly” is the band’s new 9-track album, and it’s straight-up, infectious, and unpretentious rock.

“We’re sort of like AC/DC and Danko Jones in that with each album we’ll have a few surprises here and there, but it’s reliable working-class rock ’n’ roll,” said guitarist/singer B.J. Lisko. “It’s all about hooks and solid songs, and we feel like we’ve got plenty of those on the new album.”

The band’s steady stream of support shows opening for the likes of Warrant, Kix, Loverboy, Sebastian Bach, Slaughter, Reverend Horton Heat, Blaze Bayley, and Stephen Pearcy, among others, has netted it a solid fan base, and the racket made by three Ohio rock lifers has turned quite a few heads, as well.

The band originally started as a recording project for Lisko before morphing into somewhat of a revolving door of drummers and bass players. Bassist Keith Dougherty and drummer Christian DeSantis joined the band in late 2011, and have been in tow ever since.

“Turbo Lovers didn’t really become Turbo Lovers, officially, until these guys joined,” Lisko said. “It’s a cohesive unit now, and I couldn’t imagine doing this with anybody else.”

“These never-say-die soldiers are the sole sleazers in their luckless mid-US town, yet they make a genre-hopping trucker metal juggernaut that easily straddles The Supersuckers and Y&T in the same goddamn song. – Classic Rock Magazine

“The pride of Youngstown, Ohio. Their headbanging take on AC/DC, shit-kicker country and 80s metal is low-brow and rabble rousing. – Classic Rock Magazine

“Aging rock ‘n’ roll lifers from the guts of Ohio use their arena rock illusions to create an impressively overblown collection of balls-out chug, sort of like Guns N’ Roses with male pattern baldness, bills to pay, and a flabby with that won’t stop bitchin’ at them. Desperation rock lives. Here’s the proof. – Classic Rock Magazine

“Turbo Lovers are, officially, from the worst town in America: Youngstown, Ohio, known far and wide for its off-the-charts unemployment and high school dropout rates, to say nothing of the subsequent crime sprees such circumstances foster. Naturally, they sound like a trailer park Judas Priest robbing a gas station.” – Classic Rock Magazine

“Youngstown’s Turbo Lovers shake rock ‘n’ roll to its very foundation and deliver it in its most basic and timeless form. – Cleveland Free Times

“Fun rock that is light-hearted and unpretentious. Oozing bravado, you can’t help but enjoy the music from this extremely likeable trio.”– Powerplay Magazine

For the last few months, Canada’s My Hollow has been teasing their new EP “Fighting The Monsters” with a handful of singles. Now listeners can be satiated with the full stream of the record. My Hollow delivers a hard-hitting product that will leave you wanting more. They have a signature style of structuring each song in an unconventional way making them more interesting and less formulaic.

A cohesive mix of epic riffs interspersed with keyboard melodies and groove, “Fighting The Monsters” is five tracks, each containing its own struggle and perseverance. The main focus of each song was to have its own battle and its own victory. Bassist Sean De Faria shares some of the processes behind the creation of the EP:

“This EP is a pivotal recording for us, we’ve had a lot of these songs for a while, so the writing process wasn’t an issue, but when you get a bunch of adults together and factor in their schedules and personal commitments then things can take a while to materialize. Factor in band member changes and new additions and the process takes even longer and becomes more arduous. For the first time in a while, it feels like we have some traction again, like the fire is back and we have something tangible to offer. This EP is a testament to our determination as a group, as a band, and as brothers. We have a lot more left to offer and this EP is only the prelude to our next chapter.”

My Hollow started via the internet many years ago and has had some lineup changes since then. As they have matured, so has the music and they are excited to share their latest version of themselves with the world. They are suitable for fans of modern metal, especially those with a penchant for Fit For An Autopsy, Gojira, and Lamb of God.

“Fighting The Monsters” is streaming right now via its premiere on NewFuryMedia HERE.

The EP officially releases on Friday, April 8th.

About:
hollow: (1) a place or area that is lower than the area around it.
(2) an empty space inside of something.

The definitions of the word hollow describe My Hollow fittingly. With intense riffs and passages seamlessly giving way to lower, heavier parts in a lock-up, chunked out style with mutes leaving empty space in an otherwise chaotic sequence.

Based out of the Toronto area, My Hollow boasts a cast of independent metal journeymen, hungry to be heavier, tighter and more engaging with every song. Applying advice and drawing experience from performing alongside some of Canada’s biggest metal exports; The Agonist, Cryptopsy, Threat Signal, Beneath The Massacre among others. My Hollow as a whole can draw from a multitude of influences, not only from metal but from other genres as well, reflected in both their recorded releases as well as their live performance. Described by Danish webzine Power Of Metal as “five pissed off Canadians ready to tear my head off!” As well as “all the subtlety of a two-ton anvil slamming down on a set of pearly whites” by US based heavy metal blog, Heavy Metal Time Machine.

My Hollow has two official releases, 2012’s ‘Cold Dark Days EP’ featuring four demo versions of songs which were reworked and reimagined on 2014’s ‘On Borrowed Time’ full length release featuring My Hollow’s most refined and focused work to date.

Like any band, My Hollow has had its highs and lows. Being selected as a finalist for the annual Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2013 solidified My Hollow as one of Toronto’s, as well as Canada’s top metal acts and announced themselves to a broader spectrum of listeners. Although narrowly missing out on a spot to perform in Germany at heavy metal’s premier festival the experience proved to strengthen the bands resolve and galvanize their confidence in the process.

While the band’s recorded releases give the listener an idea of what My Hollow is about, the live performance is where My Hollow truly shine. “With a crushing wave of energy, and sound, My Hollow filled the venue with their effervescent presence. The lads never disappoint on stage,” is how Toronto based metal publication Metal Master Kingdom described their experience.

With a new EP “Fighting The Monsters”, which includes guest vocals from Bjorn Strid (Soilwork) due out in 2022 and an ever-evolving sound and live performance, My Hollow strive to become an ever-present staple in the Canadian and global metal scene and will stop at nothing to leave you hollow, and wanting more.

Discography:
2022 – Fighting The Monsters (EP)
2020 – iSolation (Single)
2018 – And Now We Fall (Single)
2015 – On Borrowed Time (LP)
2013 – Cold Dark Days (EP)

Shared Stage with:
The Agonist, Beyond Creation, Cryptopsy, Soilwork, Unearth, Battlecross, Fit For An Autopsy, Wretched, War Of Ages, SkullFist, Neck Of The Woods, Operus, Kill Devil Hill, Vital Remains, Warbringer, Beneath The Massacre. As well as (relatively) local bands: Insurrection, Centuries Of Decay, Sludgehammer, Astaroth Incarnate, BornBroken, Lutharo, Tortured Saint, Burning The Day.

Since their incarnation in 2019, Helsott has amassed a respectable discography including two EPs and two full-lengths. They have toured throughout North America and Europe along with performing on several festivals including Wacken Open Air.

On their new record  “Will and the Witch”, Helsott goes back to their roots along with adding orchestrations composed by the band. Overall, “Will and the Witch” will have more thrashy elements and fewer orchestrations than their previous work, which results in a bit less complexity than earlier albums, yet keeps the essence intact while catching listeners off guard with new influences befitting of the album’s theme, but maintains the group’s underlying core that definitely is still Helsott. Vocalist Eric Dow explains further:

“The album is a concept recording. It’s basically a fan fiction story about how Billy The Kid became the fastest gunfighter in the wild west. There are southern vibes with banjo and fiddle. There are Native American vibes with hand drums and flute. There is thrash metal, power metal, death metal, and even acoustic campfire parts. We think there are enough flavors on this album to keep any listener engaged and wanting to listen over and over again. The title track explores the relationship between the two main characters on the album. Musically it’s melodic and thrashy, but also catchy and fun so I think this is a great song to introduce the listener to the full-length.”

Heavy, and eclectically enchanting, Helsott weave tales from mythology and history and are recommended for fans of Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, and Moonsorrow.

Montreal, QC – April 6, 2022

M-Theory Audio – PAGAN METAL PIONEERS HELSOTT UNVEIL MUSIC VIDEO FOR “INDEPENDENCE NIGHT”

New single featuring Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens from the new record, ‘Will and The Witch; Pre-orders available now

HELSOTT – America’s leading pagan metal band – has unveiled the music video for “Independence Night,” the new single featuring guest vocals from Tim “Ripper” Owens, from their upcoming concept album, “Will and The Witch.” The group’s newest album will be released by M-Theory Audio on Friday, May 20th. Pre-orders for CD, limited-edition gold double vinyl, and digital editions of “Will and The Witch” are available now at http://smarturl.com/helsott. The visualizer video, created by Raf Ortega (Ayreon, Subterranean Masquerade) for “Independence Night” can be viewed at https://youtu.be/5Iq3yGT6Zrg.

Says Dow, “’Independence Night’ is a dark and heavy song. We have Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens doing guest vocals for us on this song and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Besides the opening money shot ‘Ripper scream’ we think you will be pleasantly surprised with the vocal performance by ‘Ripper.’ I have been a fan of his ever since I heard ‘Bullet Train’ from Judas Priest before the ‘Jugulator’ album was released. I know how hard it must have been to replace someone like Rob Halford and I felt like ‘Ripper’ killed it. It’s definitely surreal to be screaming alongside him in this awesome track. Enjoy!”

Says Owens of his guest appearance on the song, “I gotta say I had a blast doing this awesome tune with HELSOTT, anytime I can show off the wide range of my vocals, it’s a blast and doing the heavy-ass aggressive vocals are some of my favorite. I am ready for more.”

HELSOTT has also announced a flurry of live performances along the West Coast coming up in June 2022, alongside Symphonic Black Metal mystics Malphas from Philadelphia. Full tour dates are below.

Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens is only one of the numerous guests on HELSOTT‘s newest album, “Will and The Witch.” The band’s latest effort – mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index, Ex Deo) and featuring artwork by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Gamma Ray) – is augmented by a who’s who of heavy hitters. In addition to Owens, HELSOTT is joined on “Will and The Witch” by percussionist Vladimir Reshetnikov (Arkona, Imperial Age), guitarist/bassist Freddie Vidales (Ashes of Ares, Iced Earth), violinist Lethien (Elvenking), guitarist Kevin Storm (Heidevolk, Autumn, Fleetburner), guitarist Bjorn Friedrichsen (Withered Moon, Sanguineus) and Whistlin’ Rick Storey.

HELSOTT‘s new album, “Will and The Witch,” is a concept record that tells a fictional story about how Billy The Kid became the fastest gunfighter in the wild west. The first taste of music from the new album was recently unleashed with a visualizer video for the title track, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/Gok7aEiO1Ys. The band returns to its musical roots on their latest record with heavier thrash overtones and less orchestral work than their prior record, while catching listeners off-guard with new influences befitting of the album’s theme. Thrash metal, power metal, and death metal all converge with acoustic campfire segments, Southern banjo and fiddle, and Native American-inspired hand drums and flutes. The end result is a record that is musically ambitious while remaining melodic, heavy, and true to the underlying sound of HELSOTT.

Since their formation, the California-based HELSOTT – whose name means “fatal illness” in Old Norse – has paid homage to pagan cultures, mythology, and history while keeping true to their American influences. The group’s unique mix of folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical and rock was first unveiled to the world with the 2012 release of their debut EP “Fólkvangr.” The band soon caught the attention of audiences on a larger scale during the 2013 Paganfest North American tour, where they performed with Ensiferum, Tyr and Trollfest. That tour set the stage for the 2014 release of “Woven,” which was supported with tours alongside Arkona and Heidevolk.

In the years since the original release of “Woven,” HELSOTT signed with M-Theory Audio, released another EP (2017’s “The Healer”) and a second full-length (2018’s “Slaves and Gods”) and logged many touring miles worldwide with artists including Korpiklaani, Arkona, I Am Morbid, Necrophagia, Tengger Cavalry, Ashes of Ares, Felix Martin, Skyforger and Finsterforst. In addition, the band performed at major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Cernunnos Pagan Fest. “Woven” was also remixed, remastered, and re-released by M-Theory Audio in November 2020 in celebration of the group’s 10th anniversary.

This year will not just see the release of HELSOTT‘s new album, “Will and The Witch,” but will also see the band’s return to the live stage. American fans along the West Coast will get an opportunity in June 2022 to experience the band’s power live with performances alongside Philadelphia’s Malphas. HELSOTT have also been confirmed to play England’s HRH Vikings 2022, with more to come throughout 2022.
