CDN Records has just unleashed Canadian thrashers Korrosive’s latest album “Toxic Apokalypse” on CD, which is available at https://cdnrecords.com/shop/korrosive-toxic-apokalypse/. The full-length was released digitally on October 7th of this year. and will also be available on cassette and vinyl in 2023 with its release to be determined at a later date.

Korrosive is an unapologetic, and high-octane headbanging unit that has crushed many mosh pits around their hometown of Toronto, ON, and beyond having shared the stage supporting well-known acts such as Havok, Venom Inc., Narcotic Wasteland, Voivod, Exciter, and Accept.

Korrosive is known for pushing the boundaries with its roots in thrash and meshing elements from more extreme metal such as death and grind to break down wall after wall that enters their path.

On Korrosive‘s new Album “Toxic Apokalypse”, fans new and old alike, can feel the aural brute-de-force on the eight-track blitz of pounding headbanging fury. Even though each song on the album is quite different in a way from the others, it’s all uniquely Korrosive. Songs deal with topics of science fiction, armageddon, and “what if” scenarios. For each track on the record, the band pushes them to new levels of velocity and extremity, from ‘Fatal Strike’, which has a ton of blast beats and solos, yet is still unmistakably thrash, to ‘Radioaktive Scourge’, filled with pure aggression, unlike anything they’ve released before. From its speed, the lyrics, and the sheer intensity, this song may be the shortest track on the record, but makes the largest impact and it’s over before you know it. And also strongly recommended is ‘Hail the Hellfire’, perhaps the band’s anthem to the entire “Toxic Apokalypse” album. Written as a reflection of the period when the full-length was being composed, this track discusses the brutality of war and the end result of each and every individual involved in its cause, regardless of side.

The band adds:

“We think the fans will be in for quite a surprise. We literally went all out and pushed the limits. It’s a diabolical, fast, unforgiving armageddon. From slow passages, mid-tempo bangers, hyper-fast blast beats, and the occasional odd-time signature, it’s a ride in extreme thrash unlike anything before. Toxic Apokalypse is an album that will hit you hard, fast, and leave you with a ‘what the f*ck just happened?’ feeling.”

Recommended for fans of Sodom, Kreator, Death, and Sepultura, “Toxic Apokalypse” was produced by Ben Erikson with mastering done by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Kreator, Cro-Mags, Municipal Waste, Soulfly). The album artwork was created by the infamous Ed Repka (Dark Angel, Death, Hirax, Megadeth, Suicidal Angels, Venom).

“If you like your thrash metal with a little San Francisco and a nice helping of Germany, then this is the album for you. “Toxic Apokalypse” is already out on CDN Records from Canada and it’s a must for any metal fan who likes it hard, nasty, and ripping off heads! This is easily in my top five metal albums of 2022.” – Pete Altieri, Murder Metal Mayhem

“It’s an album which is relentless, something that any self-respecting thrash fan would want. And yet, there is some balance to the album. It’s paced well, with the tempo picking up again at the tail end of the album” – UK Thrashers

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 18, 2022

Wall of Sound Records – Bahrain’s 7MND Releases Animated Full EP Video For Introspective, Progressive And Wild Concept Record “Cataclysm”

7MND is the solo project of Bahrain’s Hamad Ebrahim Hamad. He released the debut album “Behemyth” back in 2017 and is now following that up with “Cataclysm”. The concept EP is a whirlwind of emotions, riffs, and breakdowns as it tells the story of a man attempting to find himself in the world. There is a wide assortment of techniques and elements to be discovered on the album, from the melancholy soundscapes and static stabs of synths on “Introspect” to the painful chord-filled chorus in “Verge of Collapse” to the mammoth-like breakdowns in “A Light, A Door” to the introspective blend of all the musical motifs explored in the album through “Dream/Infinite” and finally, the epic, orchestral eulogy present in “(No One Left To) Mourn”. Hamad explains the record in further detail:

“When I started 7MND, a lot of it was born of experimentation, fun, and trying to channel all my influences into things that feel original. Now I feel like there’s a lot more focus on portraying emotions in as raw a way as possible. Whereas in my previous releases I tended to go towards complexity and something maybe showy, the new music I’m working on is all about chasing a feeling, or telling a story, and doing it justice.”

Hamad has spent considerable time getting this release together and he expects a solid release from fans around the world as they experience the story and the feelings that radiate throughout the music. As a concept EP, each track flows into the next, creating a journey that should be related to all kinds of people. Each song tends to stem from a singular point, either an emotion or an atmosphere he is trying to convey. It usually starts with a guitar riff or a melody, then as he further explores the idea, it’ll usually write itself.

The EP was self-produced by Hamad, mixed by himself and Jack Byrne, and mastered by Arran Dutt. It is expansive and emotive and recommended for fans of Between the Buried and Me, Northlane, and Tesseract.

For the EP’s release day, 7MND is also sharing a full animated video, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/rraH8HRhtJU

EWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 18, 2022

Rockshots Records – 17 Crash Channel The Power of Kobra Kai In New Music Video “Strike First”

New Album “Stamina” Out Now!

Italian rockers 17 Crash‘s fourth studio album “Stamina” is now available as of November 18th via Rockshots Records. For the album’s release day, the band is channeling the power of the Kobra Kai (Karate Kid) for their new music video for the full-length’s closing track “Strike First”.

The band continues to explain the song:

“We took the inspiration for this song from the Karate Kid/Kobra Kai – movie/pictures, series. Therefore, it’s necessary to be on guard, without, however, being defeatist or pessimistic. Be always prepared when things are going against you. Be brave and show no mercy to the ones with bad intentions towards you. Don’t let them smell your fear, let them smell the taste of your fist.”

Watch and listen to “Strike First” at https://youtu.be/4S1qLt45W7s

17 Crash‘s new record “Stamina” is a much more complex and profound piece of work written entirely during the endless lockdowns from the 2020 pandemic that the world experienced. Their passion for the 80’s glam / hard n’ heavy rock n’ roll crossed with a particular duality between human struggle and the will to fight and resist against all the odds. It might seem that 17 Crash has come a long way, but rest assured they are just warming up for what’s to come.

Colliding their emotions, fears, and wishes, mixing up everything they got inside, and talking about their experiences and how they changed over these past testing years, 17 Crash explains their album in further detail.

“People should listen to this album very carefully, trying to catch the real spirit of it. Words have a very important message in this one, considering the times we are living in and what happened in 2020. The singles show what we are and what we want to say after these two terrible years. It’s like a concept about this crazy modern era and all the effects it brought to us. This record, it’s a box with all the emotions and the feeling we had during the composing process. We are talking about being us at 100% and our fans know that we always speak just about the truth. On this album, we shared everything we wanted to. No secrets, just feelings.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of H.E.A.T, Crazy Lixx, Eclipse, Hardline, and Stryper, “Stamina” is available for order at the following link – https://bit.ly/17Crash_Stamina

About:
Driven by the passion of drummer Phil Hill and singer Ros Crash, 17 Crash began their crazy journey back in 2011.

At an earlier stage of their career, 17 Crash was a true and vibrant synonym of vintage 80s LA Glam Rock Style: big hair, leather pants, and loud guitars. Distinctive attire and growling sound finally merged into the debut album “Reading Your Dirty Minds” (2015). Right after their first release, the band toured extensively throughout the Italian peninsula while making sure the name of the band was being heard.

Evolving and exploring new sounds, it didn’t take that long until they found what they were looking for with the release of the second studio album “Hit The Prey” (2018). Finding the right balance between the 80s sound and modern AOR, the new record marked a significant turning point both in terms of musicianship and career approach.

Another two years of touring passed until a further stage of evolution with their third album “Through Hell And Back” (2020) reconfirming previous collaboration with long-esteemed colleagues Alessio Lucatti in production and Simone Mularoni for mixing and mastering. The third chapter written by 17 Crash featured groovy heavy riffs, polished sounds, and even sharper tunes, effectively establishing the band as a true landmark not only within national borders, but in the international hard & heavy landscape as well.

Now in 2022, they will present their fourth album “Stamina” on Rockshots Records on November 18th.

Vancouver, Canada’s Opus Arise is an orchestral metal ensemble that brings together classical strings and metal rhythms to create luscious soundscapes to dissonant chaos. Their second album “The Network” teleports listeners into a cyberpunk world filled with neon lights, and punctuated with progressive riffs. Compared to their last album “Revelation”, released in 2016, their compositions have become slightly less metal, but they have upped the ante in the string section going from a trio to a quintet. The third single “Change” is a pivotal point in the album, where it is at its heaviest. The band comments on it and the album as a whole:

“The album builds itself up with steady grooves that lead into some of the heaviest moments on the album. We then break into a thoughtful, atmospheric middle section with a triumphant ending that leads to the climax of the album. After many years that seemed like forever, we’re extremely excited to release our follow-up “The Network”. Thanks to the experience and wisdom of Maor Appelbaum, we’re very stoked that we brought the album to what it needed to be after much trial and error. We hope everyone will enjoy this journey through this Cyberpunk-inspired world!”

The eight-track album features a wide arrangement of influences performed by nine members. It was primarily composed by Matthew Logan and Matthew Hannah but former members have also left a bit of material to be used for future albums. They tried many different guitars and tones for this record, and through much trial and error, they finally settled on the John Petrucci Majesty 7 with his Neural DSP, which they will use going forward. They cite that it really allows the space for the strings to come out while still being heavy and crunchy.

Influenced by prog, neo-classical, and even extreme genres like black and death, Opus Arise is recommended for fans of Liquid Tension Experiment, Powerglove, and Scale The Summit.

The video for “Change” can be watched via its premiere on AllAboutTheRock HERE.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 18, 2022

Indulge In North East Bistro’s Monster New Single “We Both Lived At Night”

North East Bistro is one of the oldest bands still hanging around in Montreal, Canada, and has been since the beginning of the millennium. They have released three albums, an EP, and a handful of singles, and have a new single “We Both Lived At Night” ready to present to the world. With influences ranging from Alice in Chains to Iron Maiden to Slipknot to Baroness, they play dynamic rock that will be intriguing to people far and wide. Bassist Ben Forté comments on the single:

“This is the first new song written since “Sing Your Heartache” was released in 2018. It’s our heaviest song so far. It’s also the 1 st single out of 3 from the Sundown sessions. The song was recorded at the Palm Isle Studio by Carl Roberge. He also tracked the guitars and that might be the reason it sounds heavier. We gave him a carte blanche and the result was quite impressive! Carl is an old friend of ours and we wanted to work with him for a long time. I’m a big Misfits, Ghost, and Type O Negative fan and I always wanted to write a “monster” song. And there it is! The song is really about a friend who I never really knew in…daylight time. Only when the sun went down. There we met. Night time only. We both lived that way, like vampires.”

Compared to their previous releases, listeners can expect this latest offering to be much heavier than expected, the band has never gone this far before on the distortion but they maintain a very groovy and melodic sound. In the past, they always had a brass section but for the more recent songs, they worked in a string section instead. They do miss the horns and suggest that they will eventually come back.

When it comes to writing, the words come first and they try to follow the mood of those, rarely does the music come first in North East Bistro. Forté first records some demos with the main core of the song, and the lyrics are usually all done. With an acoustic guitar and vocals, they flesh out the parts and harmonies, and finally the drums. Once satisfied, they hit the studio.

For more than 20 years, North East Bistro has been ripping it up and they are excited to share their latest incarnation. The single “We Both Lived At Night” is dark, melancholic and just in time for Halloween, it is recommended for fans of Ghost, Type O Negative, and The National.

Listen to “We Both Lived At Night” via its premiere on V13 HERE.

Recently wrapping up their North American tour supporting legendary German speed metallers ACCEPT, Narcotic Wasteland founded by guitarist Dallas Toler-Wade is sharing their assaulting new single “Victims of the Algorithm” with a music video premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

The track is a crushing speed storm of death thrash, with its visceral vocals, and a demolishing blast beat war to annihilate the mosh pit. The song is the first time drummer/ vocalist Joseph Howard collaborated with Wade.

“I had the music done for an untitled track that I already recorded in the studio, but I didn’t have lyrics written yet, then Joseph showed me lyrics he wrote called Victims of the Algorithm and after I read them, I knew they were the perfect match for this song. To break it down, Victims of the Algorithm is about a lot of things, but for me, after reading Howard’s lyrics, it’s mostly about putting down our phones and breaking free from this ridiculous round of existence we have created for ourselves. Disconnecting from the daily neurotypical absurdities and enjoying life in the moment.” says Wade.

The music video was created by Kenji Tsunami of Tsunami films. Footage for the video was captured at the Thirsty Axe in Ukiah, CA, and at the band’s rehearsal space in San Francisco, CA.

“I think Kenji really captured our live prowess very well!! It has a very gritty punk rock feel to it, and fits the song and its meaning perfectly,” adds Wade.

“Victims of the Algorithm” will be featured on Narcotic Wasteland‘s forthcoming 2023 album via Megaforce Records (release date to be determined). The single was recorded with engineer, and producer Erik Schultek who is no stranger to the band having recorded drums, engineered and produced their self-titled debut album. The band’s 2023 album will be the follow-up to their sophomore full-length 2017’s “Delirium Tremens”.

Inspired mostly by thrash metal and classic heavy metal, Narcotic Wasteland is becoming more thrash and speed and less death metal and getting better at writing material that is meaningful and powerful. They are recommended for fans of Vader, Death, The Crown, Autopsy, Pestilence, and Nile.

About:

Narcotic Wasteland started as a side project Dallas Toler-Wade had been working on the past few years when he was not touring or in the writing/studio with metal heavyweights “Nile.”

‘So I just started writing some songs kind of more in the style of things I was playing before my time in Nile. The more we started working on these demos the more we wanted to complete an album and take it to the stage!!! Our observation of what was going on in parts of the town we grew up in and in other parts of the world fueled a new level of angst for me personally.” DTW

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 17, 2022

ASYLENCE’s New Music Video “Soulless” Is Bloody Tears For Friends Lost To Addiction

New Album “Endanger Us All” Out February 2023

Forged from the melting pot of Detroit’s underground metal scene, Asylence is a well-oiled metal machine built with passion, intent, and ferocity like no other. At the beginning of next year, they will be releasing their full-length album “Endanger Us All” and The Circle Pit is now premiering their second single “Soulless”, which comes at you heavy, fast, and punishing as they count down the days to the album release. They wanted the second look at this new offering to be a heavy one, “Soulless” was the obvious choice. Vocalist Ryan Lang explains further:

“This is another oldie but a goodie. One of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written especially early on in the band. This is screaming in an addict’s face. This is how hard it is to see a loved one fade away into the depths of addiction. This song is so emotional for me, I’ve lost far too many friends to drugs and addiction, and I’m no stranger to my own struggles myself. I hope that this song can provide someone with comfort that they are not alone and maybe this could help encourage people to wake up and change their lives for the better.”

A fun fact about the single, the ending was actually first written off the cuff live. They screwed up how it was supposed to end and just ran with it and the crowd loved it. They did too, so it was added to the final song. The album “Endanger Us All” is a combination of Asylence’s oldest and newest material. The older songs have always been a staple in their live sets and they wanted to finally record them right and do them justice. The new songs have been completed since the release of their 2020 EP “Eulogy Of Man” and they really constructed the bridge from what we were to what they’re becoming.

Asylence started out trying to be as heavy as they could possibly be but now they find themselves exploring more techniques and ideas that they had never previously thought to pursue. They are recommended for fans of Arch Enemy, DevilDriver, and Amon Amarth.

About: Asylence (uh-sigh-lence): A hybrid of the words Asylum and Silence, when joined together, present a universal idea and timeless message: The constant suffering and failures of mankind. After the dissolution of drummer Alex Aubuchon’s highly active, long-standing thrash band, he began to focus his efforts on recruiting for his new project. He discovered the talent of guitarist Aaron Lumsden, an avid scene supporter who frequented many local and regional shows.

A dedicated relationship quickly formed between the pair, and Asylence was born. Frontman Ryan Lang, having been a mainstay in the Detroit metal scene but group-less at the time, was Asylence’s first choice to handle vocal duties. Ryan accepted, excited at the idea of hitting the stage once again. Shortly after, bassist Richard Olrich joined the group to complete the sound. A new era of heavy metal ensued.

Forged from the melting pot of Detroit’s underground metal scene, Asylence is a well-oiled metal machine built with passion, intent, and ferocity like no other. Since their formation in 2016, Asylence has been on a path of sonic destruction as they crush their audiences with fierce live performances throughout Michigan and surrounding states, opening for national acts such as Archspire, Belphegor, and Sea of Treachery, among others. Taking no prisoners and amassing a loyal, respecting fan base in the Midwest and beyond, behold the rise of Asylence.

Rockshots Records – Finnish Rockers Leaflet Have Their Next Single To “Resonate” With You

New Album “Something Beyond” Out Jan 2023

Finnish rockers LEAFLET will be releasing their sophomore album “Something Beyond” this coming January 2023 via Rockshots Records. The album follows their debut album “Outta Door” released through VR Label Finland in 2017.

Today, the band is sharing their second single “Resonate” accompanied by a music video.

They comment about the track:

“Resonate is a song about a person who goes through an out-of-body experience realizing life is short and one has to live it once it lasts. This song is a reminder for us all in our daily grind that life is supposed to be enjoyed. Resonate was mainly composed in the heat of the day and thunderstorm of the night while visiting Bangalore, India. I am sure some of that atmosphere got subconsciously translated into the song as well.”

Formed in 2013, LEAFLET is a four-piece hard rock band from Turku, Finland. Their music can be described as metal-infused American-style hard rock and while you might hear echoes of bands like Alter Bridge or Shinedown they have their own unique Nordic flavour. “Our musical cocktail is a blend of many things. Although we love the 80s, we are trying to keep our hard rock fresh and not follow the retro route”, the band says.

The band has performed on Finnish festivals such as Kuopiorock and Saaristo Open Air along with touring across their home country to support their debut album. They also spent time on the road in the Baltics with Willie & the Goodsouls in 2018 again playing clubs and festivals.

In 2019, LEAFLET released “Johnny Two-Face” as a single through VR Label Finland followed by an ambitious music video shot in both Turku, Finland, and Tokyo, Japan. After a couple of years of silence due to the pandemic, the band is now back with their second album “Something Beyond” to be released by Rockshots Records in January 20, 2023, sounding stronger than ever.

The band adds about “Something Beyond”:

“With this album, we are definitely showing that rock music is alive and pumping! The album is full of catchy metal-influenced rock tunes that would fit perfectly in the heavy rotation of every rock radio station. The album has a lot of variety within the songs and we got a diverse selection of singles as well. Three very different singles trying to represent the entire album as well as possible. As singles, we got one heavy and hard-hitting tune, one straightforward and super catchy tune, and one fast-paced in-your-face type of tune. You should check out them all to see what you think! “

New Album “Monument of Velocity” Out Now!

Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter Matt Miller side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope. His album “Monument of Velocity” takes you on a journey and makes a bold statement. He intends for the songs on the album to come across as scenes from a movie. His single “Abominable Sands” captures that vibe excellently and can now be watched on TechnicalMusicReview. Miller comments on the album:

“With “Monument of Velocity” I set out to push my creative limits by not relying on any preconceived notions and letting each song unfold as its own entity. Which in turn actually created a stronger continuity between the tracks. By writing the majority of the album without a guitar in hand I was able to think outside the box and come up with more interesting melodies and more dynamic rhythms. This process allowed me to achieve a greater level of melodicism and generate a stronger emotional response.”

“Monument of Velocity” initially had a different title and was not going to be a Matt Miller release and some of the songs were written with vocals in mind and were not going to be instrumental, however, it turned out to be the sixth of seven powerful albums in his discography. It contains eight tracks full of technical and progressive metal eliciting feelings of suspense, and tension while being fun, melodic, and brutally heavy.

Miller’s melodic and relentless music has a wide range of influences and is recommended for fans of Jeff Loomis, Necrophagist, and Obscura.

The shredtastic video for “Abominable Sands” can be seen and heard via TechnicalMusciReview HERE.

“Monument of Velocity” was released on July 19, 2022, via Blood Blast Distribution (powered by Nuclear Blast and Believe Digital) and is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music.

About:
Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter MATT MILLER side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope.

Drawing upon the gut-wrenching timed-precision of European death metal stalwarts NECROPHAGIST and SPAWN OF POSSESSION, MATT MILLER progressively blends this approach with deep synthetic and symphonic atmospheres like that of DEVIN TOWNSEND, often arriving at surprisingly emotive and heart-clenching metallic passages like that of RIVERS OF NIHIL.

Calling upon other single-member death metal projects such as PUTRID PILE or INSIDIOUS DECREPANCY, the live performance can best be described as a reclaiming and repainting of the earth by a relentlessly sweeping and deranged berzerker appealing to the vast minions of the extreme music. The combination of elements within MATT MILLER distills the traditions of the international metal realm, the progressive atmospheres of modernity, and reactions to a vile world into a single unrelenting persona of despair and vengeance.

MATT MILLER’s first self-produced instrumental EP came in 2017, drawing on influences from classic metal bands such as MEGADETH and IRON MAIDEN to shredders like YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and PAUL GILBERT, while combining a technical death metal approach to create a maximum intensity music with a frenetic and frantic feel and ferocious atmosphere. Since then, and a few releases into this brief career, MATT MILLER boasts 12,000 consistent monthly listeners on Spotify before hitting the international touring circuit. This was garnered from his 2017 EP, the 2021 self-released ‘Decrepit Shed’ LP, the ‘Reekomposer/Decomposer’ covers double LP, as well as the ‘8E’s’ 1980’s themed covers LP.

In 2022 Matt released the formidable original instrumental LP Monument of Velocity on Blood Blast Distribution. Matt also toured supporting Rings of Saturn on the CYBER SHRED TOUR 2022. 29 shows encompassing the continental United States. Matt has released the cover LP Only What the Light Allows through Blood Blast Distribution as well.

Matt Miller hails from the rain soaked northern Oregon Coast; influenced by the natural foreboding environment. Moving into the present, MATT MILLER has joined up with Extreme Management Group to spread a singularly relentless auditory mind-bend.
