After performing at Pol’and’Rock back in 2021, Dirty Shirt was requested back to play the main stage on the 2022 edition after winning the fan-voted Golden Spinning Top festival contest. To date, this was the largest audience that Dirty Shirt has performed for, with an estimated 50k in attendance, according to festival organizers.

Today, the band is sharing the full concert video from the festival, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/aHdrgjSAvyA

And if you like what you see and hear from the live video, new and old fans alike will be happy to hear that the band will be touring in 2023 for the second part of the Get Your Dose Now Tour, with shows already announced in Romania, Poland, France, and UK (dates listed below).

Dirty Shirt‘s sixth album “Get Your Dose Now!” (released April 1, 2022) is a shorter nine-track album, with a little more than 30 minutes, but Dirty Shirt maintains that the listening experience will be very intense, as they combine many influences, and the songs change constantly with complex orchestrations. It was produced by Mihai Tivadar, mixed and mastered by Adrian Bila Uritescu and the album artwork was done by Lia Cucuianu.

Dirty Shirt brings a truly unique live experience, huge energy, huge emotions, and fun, with a scaling lineup based on the performance, which adds a lot of authenticities and a great live sound.

Recommended for anyone looking for something interesting and lively, Dirty Shirt is for fans of Twelve Foot Ninja, Dubioza Kolektiv, and Eluveitie.

0 One Man Black Metal – Canada’s HAIDUK Unleashes Hypnotizing Video “Sea of Fire” Off “Diabolica”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 20, 2023

One Man Black Metal – Canada’s HAIDUK Unleashes Hypnotizing Video “Sea of Fire” Off “Diabolica”

Haiduk, the solo project of Luka Milojica is an unrelenting, hypnotic force that greets listeners with a barrage of death-infused black metal that is prominently displayed on the latest release “Diabolica”, which was released in September 2021. Now, Haiduk is releasing the next video music video for the track “Sea of Fire”. The entirety of Haiduk‘s discography, which spans four full-lengths, takes place in the fantasy medieval realm of Callost, the different albums feature maps, descriptions, and stories set in the world. Milojica explains the album and single in further detail:

“It’s about the depths of hell and the journey demons take to enter the world. The first ten songs on Diabolica are aggressive and meant to tire the listener. Your mind is then more vulnerable to a hypnotic track like Sea of Fire which is a slow descent but gets darker the further you go.”

Watch and listen to “Sea of Fire” at https://youtu.be/_TVBCl4CvZE

Like the album art depicts, “Diabolica” is an eruption of pent-up anger and power. Every song on the album is about building momentum and speed and blasting the listener with constantly evolving riffs and melodies. With pure speed and relentless riff attacks, the album crushes and keeps you on edge through aggressive arrangements as well as melodic and hypnotizing parts that create a mysterious atmosphere.

Haiduk was created to be the channel for Milojica’s dark musical desires, turning his ideas into a solo project inspired by acts such as Vintersorg and others from Sweden and Norway. Lightning-fast, and bursting with energy, Haiduk is recommended for fans of Bolt Thrower, Vomitory, and Dissection.

The album “Diabolica” was released on September 21, 2021, and is available on Haiduk.bandcamp.com, Spotify.

About:
Haiduk is the death metal solo project by guitarist Luka Milojica. The project arose with the raw demo – ‘Plagueswept’ in 2010.

Working in solitude, Haiduk unveiled the full-length debut ‘Spellbook’ in 2012; a black magic conjuring of fast guitars and powerful riff attacks. Invoking spells of demonic strength, Haiduk raised forces from the infernal depths, sealing arcane powers into the ‘Demonicon’ in 2015; a blackened tome of blasting distortion. Chanting words of astral terror, Haiduk became the ‘Exomancer’ (2018); summoner of cosmic darkness.

Frozen in darkness under the ash cloud, the desolate ground opens. Octavia erupts, releasing the doomed king from the burning abyss. Devils swarm, carving a path of destruction for a new demonic domain – Diabolica (2021).

On April 28th, Swedish supergroup Ironmaster will release their new album “Weapons Of Spiritual Carnage” via Black Lion Records. The full length is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut “Thy Ancient Fire” (February 2022). Featuring current and ex-members of Dark Funeral, Scar Symmetry, Raubtier, Carnal Forge, and Facebreaker, this strong follow-up album is a natural continuation of the path taken on the band’s debut record. This time there is even more death, black, and thrash, along with the performance level from all the band members rising a notch compared to the previous album. More powerful and faster than ever at times, but the flow of the album has been the focal point of the whole writing and recording process. Everything has been done with the full album listening format in mind so that the experience when you listen thru the record from front to back will be a good and memorable one.

Edvin Skårud has written all the lyrics (except for one song) on this album, his dark and masterful lyrics deal with death, cruelty and the dark side of life, and the blackness of one’s soul.

With the lyric video for “Bringer Of Deception”, the band is offering its first single at https://youtu.be/NZkhTjC9qOw

The band adds about the track:

“This song is basically a continuation of the song before this one, building on a mix of Black and Death Metal with a 90’s Fear Factory-style chorus. The bridge part was also graced with a solo from the utterly talented guitarist Bill Hudson (I Am Morbid, Doro, Northtale + many more).”

“Weapons Of Spiritual Carnage” was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Blacklounge Studios between May 2021 and October 2022 by Jonas Kjellgren. The album is now available for pre-order via Black Lion Records at https://ironmasterblacklion.bandcamp.com/album/weapons-of-spiritual-carnage

“The single is one of the hardest-hitting songs we’ve ever released, The lyrics and video were inspired by the Alien films, and having Lewis doing some nasty guest vocals really helped give it the brutality we were looking for, We played it live throughout our recent European Tour and absolutely loved the energy it brings to the stage. We’re looking forward to this one being a part of our live show for many tours to come. This new album is basically like one big horror movie, song by song each one tells a story. Each one is brutal in its own way.” – Keith Wampler – The Convalescence

=============================================

The album as a whole:
The album is a fusion of styles and genres, along with concepts and ideas that represent the chaos that the human population has experienced in the last few years, along with the entropy that is the online culture of humanity

Track By Track explained:

1. Soultest – This track is meant to be the interpretation of the arrival of Jon of Mars on Earth, it’s melancholy and strange as if you were being transported to a completely new place.

2. A Respite! – The alien has accessed the internet and is now experiencing the internet culture for the first time and all of the worst things that people become on the internet.

3. MisinformedNation – After having experienced things like vanity and jealousy, the alien now uncovers the state of online politics.

4. Azag’s Fable – Azag is a Sumerian demon fueled by jealousy, hate, and vanity whose face is so reviled that it boils water and causes plague, the alien realizes that this is the current path for people and that eventually, all people will realize this fate.

5. Mister Blue – The alien meets a kind stranger that introduces him to weed via a bong named Mister Blue, here the alien learns that there are ways to mitigate his newfound anxiety by smoking when he also realizes the power of human connection.

6. Inhumane Tragedy – Jon of Mars discovers that though there are injustices in the world, people have the power to come together in hopes of changing society for the better.

7. Ghosts – Jon of Mars completes his mission in Small Town, USA and leaves to reflect on the things he’s learned, and communicate with his masters whether or not the human race is worthy of salvation, despite their folly.

=============================================

Story Angles – Fun Facts:

1. Jon of Mars is a concept, he is an alien inspired by all of humanity with an impartial eye, trying to figure out what the fuck is happening on earth, much like all of us.

2.  All of the music on this was written by throwing dice and using number systems found in nature, like the kind that dictate how trees grow branches!

3. Jordan Karg is a successful Berklee graduate and currently a music producer, Wendall Holmes is the best know bassist on the western side of PA, and Barrett Holcomb has been playing live music in PA since he was 14 under countless other bands.

4. This album was the reason that Barrett Holcomb got accepted into Berklee College of Music.

5. This album was a way for the band members to be vocal about the strange, dumb, and confusing things that our friends and families were doing or going through during the pandemic, there was a lot of frustration and fear that we needed to get out, but also hope that people can realize their mistakes and make changes.

5. 2/3 of the members are Berklee Alumni.

6. Marijuana was an inspiration for one song and the writing on almost every other song.

7. Barrett’s cat, Venus was used for ambient noises on 2 tracks.

Having cut his teeth in the underground metal and punk scenes of Northwestern PA, Barrett Holcomb formed Jon of Mars out of a collaborative effort after having worked with Berklee Alumni and music producer Jordan Karg. From the pandemonium of the COVID-19 Pandemic Jon of Mars was forged as a musical outlet to vent trapped creativity, as the world had paused and there were no shows for this creative magma to erupt forth upon the world.

“Hailing from the red planet, a mysterious creature crawls forth from the farthest depths of the earth to observe the denizens of Earth to decide their ultimate fate, drawn by the curious nuance of human life he seeks to understand the human race…. either to help them find salvation or destruction in their greatest and most universal creation: Music.”

Montreal, QC – February 17, 2023

If You’ve Seen Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal Then You Might Know Toronto’s One Man Melodic Black Metal MALICE DIVINE

– New Playthrough “Apparitions Of Conquest” –

New Album “Everlasting Ascendancy” Out Now!

If you have watched Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal (Seasons 1 and 2), you may have had a glimpse of the shredding power from one man melodic black metal Malice Divine helmed by guitarist Ric Galvez.

Malice Divine recently unleashed the sophomore album “Everlasting Ascendancy”, the follow-up to the highly acclaimed self-titled debut released in 2021. “Everlasting Ascendancy” is a dynamic experience while also being an overall more aggressive album than the first one, especially in the vocal delivery and guitar work. There are still plenty of melody and classical guitar sections, which is a major part of Malice Divine’s sound. The solos on this album are even more virtuosic than before as well.

Today, Malice Divine presents a new guitar playthrough for “Apparitions Of Conquest”, it’s the darkest song on the album, as well as the record’s second-longest track clocking in at over 8 minutes. Lyrically this song is about the paranormal phenomena of apparitions. It is written from the apparition’s perspective. The song features many different guitar riffs and consists of a total of 4 guitar solos throughout its duration. There is also a beautiful classical guitar section around the 5:30 mark, which adds to the dynamics of the song. For these reasons, Galvez knew that “Apparitions Of Conquest” would be an excellent song for a guitar play-through video.

Check out the playthrough via its premiere on TechnicalMusicReview HERE.

All songs on “Everlasting Ascendancy” were written by Galvez who enlisted session drummer Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Birds of Bellwoods, Co-Host We’re Talkin Drums, Overkill Reviewer Banger TV) to hammer them out. The album was produced and mixed by Tyler Williams (Sludgehammer, Monolithic Productions) and mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Scale The Summit). The album artwork was done by Eka Saputra (Psychopart).

Malice Divine intends to deliver a listening experience that is highly memorable and one that will leave the listener feeling empowered and wanting to listen to it again and again. They are recommended for fans of Watain, Thulcandra, and Dissection.

“Everlasting Ascendancy” was released on January 27, 2023.

About: Toronto, Canada’s Malice Divine is a solo project conceived by Ric Galvez, who had always had the dream of being the leader of his own project. He wanted to expand beyond being known as just a lead guitarist, into also being known as a songwriter, vocalist, and frontman. Ric has played in local bands previously and was a contestant on Banger TV’s Shredders of Metal Seasons 1 & 2.

Ric has a major in music from York University, and through Malice Divine he shows off his vocal, guitar, and bass prowess. His lyrics are inspired by psychology, spirituality, as well as personal experiences that involve the overcoming of obstacles and hardships, using the resulting verses as a form of empowerment.

The second offering from Malice Divine, entitled “Everlasting Ascendancy”, will be released in early 2023. Once again it features Ric Galvez on Vocals, Guitars, & Bass, as well as Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Banger TV) playing session drums. Malice Divine is also currently transitioning from being a solo project into being a band effort, and is set to start performing live in 2023. What people can expect from seeing Malice Divine live is highly aggressive black and death metal-inspired music, with shreddy and virtuosic guitar solos that add a melodic layer that isn’t common in the genre.

Malice Divine’s sophomore album “Everlasting Ascendancy” is set to be released on January 27th, 2023.

“This is one of the first albums to come out this year and it is this strong. So as we gather our thoughts for AOTY 2022, an early contender for 2023 kicked this year off right! This album is essential. You’re welcome!” – Metal-Rules

“Loud, fast, and aggressive but with a shed load of melody. Ric Galvez, I salute you and take a bow to Dylan Gowan for a world-class performance and producer Tyler Williams for capturing the immense sounds. My only criticism would be that some of the songs are maybe a tad too long but that’s only because I probably don’t have the stamina I once did. The songs are well constructed and although the vocals may be an acquired taste, they fit the music. This is a killer album – so if you like melodic death metal – put your hand in your pocket! You won’t be disappointed.” – My Global Mind

“Slaves of shred will have another reason to bow down in 2023 because Toronto-based Malice Divine will be releasing their second album Everlasting Ascendancy on January 27th. As lots of people already know, the man behind this project — Ric Galvez — has made a name for himself as a guitar virtuoso, and if anything, he elevates his skill to even greater heights on Everlasting Ascendancy. But as the album’s title track that we’re premiering today (through a lyric video) demonstrates quite convincingly, the songs aren’t just excuses to show off, but are instead well-crafted pieces that display dynamism, inspiring melodies, and the kind of hard-charging ferocity that creates primal reactions.” – NoCleanSinging

“The solos and those vocals just emit black metallic sparks and they eat into my ear canals. Watain and Dissection merge here with his own style. An explosive mix does the honors and every track is a feast. “Eight songs long” always surprising variety. A very successful album. A uniform porridge was absolutely not touched here. The cover is like an invitation card. “Come and listen to this beast”. A great start to my first review of the year.” – Hellfire-Magazin

0 Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! One Man Black Metal TRYGLAV’s New Album “The Ritual” + New Music Video For Title Track

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 17, 2023

Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! One Man Black Metal TRYGLAV’s New Album “The Ritual”

Croatian one-man black metal band Tryglav‘s second full-length “The Ritual” is now available as of February 17th, 2023 via Extreme Metal Music, a subsidiary of Rockshots Records.

Tryglav‘s sound is aggressive, melodic, modern, and emotionally epic black metal, and fans of the first album “Night of Whispering Souls” will notice a maturity in sound and lyrics on this new record. The story concept of “The Ritual” takes place in the 17th century, Tryglav explains further:

“On a dark stormy night, a dying man sighed his last breath. Nothing his parents could do to save his life. A Plague Doctor was called. Four of them showed up, taking the dead body with them. The family knew that they would never see him again. What they didn’t know was that he would come back, in an unimaginable way..”

All the music on “The Ritual” was written by founder Boris Behara with vocals entrusted to vocalist Callum Wright along with mixing and mastering by producer Rocco Pezzin. The songs on the forthcoming album began their journey in 2018 as part of Behara’s love for black metal and horror imagery. After many re-compositions and re-arrangements along with interruptions from the world Covid pandemic and his personal health with two open heart surgeries, “The Ritual” now sees it arrival.

From its opening title track with lots of tempo changes, and tons of riffs and melodies, Tryglav wanted a perfect start for the album that’s right in your face! to his personal favourite song of the album “Vengeance”, epic with nice melodies, extreme speed, and drum patterns that really stand out, fans new and old will feel the extreme musical sentiment Tryglav presents in his new offering.

Tryglav adds:

“This album has seen so many difficulties, but finally, after three long years, it’s here! I hope fans will enjoy it just as much as I created it! If they liked my first album ‘Night of Whispering Souls’ they’ll definitely like this one too. The formula didn’t change too much. It’s a black metal album full of different influences. The melody is still the central part of it.”

Tryglav is recommended for fans of Dark Funeral, Dissection, and Uada.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 16, 2023

Streaming Now! Saudi One Man Prog DUSK’s New Album “Spectrums”

Saudi Arabia’s one-man prog metal unit DUSK (from the mind of Meshari Sangora) offers up the new album “Spectrums” and ahead of its official release on Friday, February 17th, fans can listen to the album in full via TheProgSpace HERE.

“I’m very happy and excited to present my album to the world! It’s going to be an epic journey playing this album to fans all over the world! and because I wanted to make it a complete professional release, I’m releasing a vinyl press for it and video content to give that extra enjoyment out of the record and the people who got it and supported me throughout the ride.” adds DUSK.

Once a college DJ in UAE, that time in his life lead to his rediscovery of all forms of metal and was just the beginning of creating his own music as a self-taught musician and producer. “Spectrums” is DUSK‘s first full-length to follow two previously released EPs “To Where I Belong” (2021) and “Ascension” (2020) along with multiple stand-alone singles that were used to introduce the project’s music to the world in 2020.

The new album features multiple guests such as Saudi musicians Khalid C (Entropia) and Abdulrahman Elghazali (who was a guest on EP ‘To Where I Belong”) along with international artists such as Aron Harris of the New York death metal based band Solemn Vision and the great Jaani Peuhu, previously known as a member of Swallow The Sun and his current band Ianai. Featuring 12 tracks, “Spectrums” is a multi-lingual expression with various songs sung by its contributors in English, German, Finnish, and Arabic.

DUSK created the new album to be listened to as Side A and Side B. The first half of the album (Side A) is aggressively sounding, and more guitar-focused and has a build-up of more hostility to each track while the listener moves forward. The second half (Side B) aims for a new sound from DUSK infusing more of the electric/EDM-ish sound where it’s more focused and digitized sounding and widely more appealing to the non-metal listener, all while keeping the same aggression level building up with each track.

“I wanted to bring more to the table and make this album a possible gateway to new audiences and perhaps fans from both sides, the metal heads & the non-metal listeners. I think all people who enjoy music will be interested in it, with all that has been added and all the different genres mixed in. What I’m trying to do with this record is to make everyone experience their own feelings and their own journey, the topics for this project are big and very stretched, some of the topics deal with real issues like betrayal and disposition, Love, Hate, and Hope.” says DUSK.

The album was fully written & recorded at DUSK‘s studio with the mixing and mastering done by Tom Haberland of Crushing Waves Studio. Album artwork created by Giannis Nakos from Remedy Studios.

“Spectrums” is recommended for fans of Currents, Born of Osiris, Novelists, and Deftones, along with everything under the vein of progressive metal, metalcore, and djent.

Montreal, QC – February 17, 2023

Black Lion Records – Finnish Black Metal ONDFODT Unleash Video “Tvetalan” Off New Album “Det Österbottniska Mörkret” Out May 2023

Unleashing their fourth album “Det Österbottniska Mörkret” this coming May 2023 on Black Lion Records, Finnish black metallers ONDFODT is unveiling their next sacrifice entitled “Tvelatan” with a music video. It’ a relentless blasting and infectious earworm.

“Tvetalan is about double standards, people driven by religion or other ridiculous beliefs. Spreading false information and forcing themselves and others to believe and follow their message.” adds the band.

Watch and listen to “Tvelatan” at https://youtu.be/a-zi-RVA2TY

“Det Österbottniska Mörkret” is a very dark album both lyrically and musically along with vocals in Finnish and English. The album was written in 2022 by vocalist/guitarist and band founder Owe Inborr and honed by all the members to perfection before hitting the studio in September 2022 at Wolfthrone Studios where it was also mixed and mastered. Guest contributions also include Jacob Björnfot (KVAEN) and Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns.

The album follows their three full-lengths “Norden” (2021), “Dödsrikets Kallelse” (2019), “Hexkonst” (2014) released on Immortal Frost Productions, and their self-released debut EP “I” (2013).

Inspired by their stomping ground in Ostrobothnia, a region in Western Finland where the band was founded in 2013, they are fond of their home and the dark folk tales they have embraced since childhood.

The band comments:

“This album is about exploring the darkest side of Ostrobothnia, both lyrically and sonically. If you are from Ostrobothnia you will understand the endless darkness during winter when the sun is barely going above the horizon. You will also understand the dark history of the witch hunt in this part of Finnish history. “Det Österbottniska Mörkret” is about all of that and going even deeper to the roots of all the evil spirits that live in the area. This album’s focus is to take you through the dark history of murders and the darkest side of people driven by religion. And as well as the urban legends of the spirits and the evil creations that live in the endless forests of Ostrobothnia. And finally, the record takes you through death itself, for example, in the song “Dödsrejson”. ‘You feel the life is slowly fading, everything turns cold, You close your eyes and let go, soon you’ll be home again’.”

“Det Österbottniska Mörkret” is due out on May 26, 2023, via Black Lion Records and is available for pre-order at the following links:

About:

ONDFØDT started in April 2013 when founding members Owe Inborr and Mikael Kåll decided to start a new raw black metal project. They spent a couple of days in the studio and soon Ondfødt’s first EP entitled “I” was released independently. The release of the EP turned out to be a success and it didn’t take long until all copies were sold out.

Ondfødt immediately started to work on new material and signed a deal with Immortal Frost Productions for the release of their debut album. After the release of the first EP Ondfødt recruited three new members: Bassist Dario Vujocevic, Drummer Simon Bondegård on Drums, and Guitarist Juuso Englund.

During the recordings of Ondfødt’s debut, Simon Bondegård, unfortunately, had to leave the band, and vocalist Owe Inborr jumped in as a replacement during the recordings.

In 2017 vocalist Owe started to write new music for their upcoming album “Dödsrikets Kallelse”.

In 2018 Ondfødt entered Wolfthrone Studios for the second time and started the recordings.

This time they got vocalist “Mathias Lillmåns” from “…and oceans, Finntroll” to guest as vocalist on the track “No Ere Jo Satan” which they later made a music video of. The album got released on CD, Vinyl, and Digitally in early 2019.

After the recording of “Dödsrikets Kallelse” in 2018 Owe started again to write new material for the third album “NORDEN” and together with guitarist Juuso they shaped a new sound for the band. The recording phase of “NORDEN” took place in 2019 at Wolfthrone Studios and this time they got “Jacob Björnfot” from “KVAEN” to perform 2 solos on the album. On the tracks “Han Bor I Skuggona” and “Gifti Från Tadjin” you can hear his performance. Norden got released on CD, Vinyl, and Digitally in the summer of 2021.

In December 2021 Dario joined the band again but this time as guitarist and decided together with Owe to bring back Ondfødt live once again after almost 9 years away from the stage. In early 2022 “Tommi Tuhkala” (Outlaw, KVAEN) joined the band as their permanent drummer.

In April 2022 Ondfødt released the first glimpse of the band live again by releasing two “live in studio” videos together with session bassist Mathias “Vreth” Lillmåns (Finntroll, …And Oceans).

After that Owe started to write new songs for their 4th full-length “Det Österbottniska Mörkret”. Later in the summer, the band joined “Black Lion Records” to release their 4th album for its release in May 2023. In September 2022 “Joel Notkonen” joined the band permanently as their bassist and together they shaped the songs to their fullest and started the recordings once again at “Wolfthrone Studios”.

In December 2022 Ondfødt had their comeback gig at “Black Sheep Pub & Terrace”. The concert was filmed and recorded professionally by “Wolfthrone Studios” and got released by “Black Lion Records” on the 31st of December 2022.

About:

ONDFØDT started in April 2013 when founding members Owe Inborr and Mikael Kåll decided to start a new raw black metal project.
