NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 2, 2023

Gainer’s New Melodic Deathcore Single “Violent Cycles” Is A Beautiful Display Of Destruction

New York’s Gainer was formed in the depths of COVID-19 in January 2021 originally as just a few guys getting together to jam and enjoy playing music together. Since then, they have released two albums “Cold Case” and “A Blackened Embrace”. Their primary focus is on playing catchy melodies and riffs and complimenting them with smashing breakdowns and build-ups that get people pumped and want to dance. Their latest single is “Violent Cycles”, a structured melodic progression that takes you through moments of pure aggression and filthy breakdowns to a powerful clean chorus that really puts you in the moment and makes you really feel the pain. The band comments:

“We are stoked about this upcoming single. We feel as a whole that it’s the best work we have done to date and the best version of Gainer that we could possibly be. This is definitely the style we have been working towards and plan to perfect moving forward. We will always love and appreciate our past but moving forward we feel like we are finally doing what we set out to do and that is to write dynamic music that appeals to the listener. The overall chemistry of the current members is next level and the efforts of each of us is equal across the board. We think each of us brings something of value to the table and are all using those tools and skills to perfect our sound and presentation.”

Despite Gainer‘s heavy background, they expect this new direction to be received well by long-time and new fans. They are intent on pushing towards a broader fan base while keeping the familiar heavy elements. On top of refined riffs and angelic choruses, the lyrical content has been streamlined to what they feel hits closer to home, to both fans and themselves. They are confident that this album will take us to new levels.

A well-rounded package, Gainer has a wide array of influences and as many elements in their music resulting in angry breakdowns, low and slow blackened bits, and a touch of ambient. They are recommended for fans of Fit For A King, The Acacia Strain, and Bodysnatcher.

Canada’s MEDEVIL Shares New Guitar Playthrough For “Dead Before Birth”

New Album Out “Mirror in the Darkness” In Tribute To Drummer’s Passing

Vancouver, Canada’s Medevil unleashed their latest album “Mirror in the Darkness” this past April 7th. The record is a big step up from their debut full-length “Conductor of Storms”, with a more progressive and ambitious direction than before. The album is also a tribute to drummer Chris Malcolmson who passed away after its recording. The songs on this new album have much more variety, and a lot more to offer, which should accommodate a wider array of music tastes from metal fans or fans of music in general.

Today, the band’s guitarists Gary Cordsen and Brett Gibbs are unveiling their latest playthrough video for the track “Dead Before Birth” via its premiere on TechnicalMusicReview HERE.

The band adds about the album’s opening track:

“Kicking things off is Dead Before Birth, a hard-hitting opening track that begins with a drum-only intro. Featuring complex arrangements, precise timings, and vicious guitar riffs. Between the many different time signatures, dense guitar layers, and menacing chorus, Dead Before Birth’s goal is to be catchy while also challenging the listener. The lyrics are kept abstract, dealing in a metaphorical sense with the feelings of depression.”

Intended to be listened to in a single sitting from front to back, Medevil spent a lot of time considering the flow of the album for “Mirror in the Darkness”, from fast and energetic to dark and brooding, there is a lot of variety that will come from a fully engaged listen. Recommended for fans of Metal Church, Accept, and Baroness, listen to “Mirror in the Darkness” at Medevil.bandcamp.com, and Spotify.

Lyric Video – Among Thieves – https://youtu.be/sC55M5Cy-3M

In additional news, Medevil has announced vocalist Eric Willmott (Apprentice, ex- Meridius) will fill in for the band’s main singer Liam Collingwood.

“Liam Collingwood is still a part of Medevil and will be continuing to work with us both creatively and in various singing roles on the upcoming album(s). Eric Willmott will be singing for us at all live performances, and is expected to sing as the lead vocalist on the upcoming studio albums as well.” adds the band.

About: Medevil is a highly energetic, fast-paced metal band known for its tight songwriting, intense stage presence, and roaring vocals. They are one of the few metal bands coming out of Chilliwack BC and hold that title proud as they have earned much praise and respect since their inception in 2014. As one of the 6 national finalists of the 2015 Wacken Metal Battle Canada, they are becoming more and more renowned throughout the country; their fame attaining them a following in their local town and across through to Vancouver.

Their music could be described as “power thrash” with half of their set being chorus-driven, and the other half focusing on blistering fast riffs. Influences for the band include Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Metal Church. Their fast but catchy songs keep the crowd chanting throughout the set, and leave them wanting more. Liam Collingwood, the band’s singer, keeps the band image in theme with the songs while on stage and will wear thematic outfits when the mood demands it.

The band was founded on January 13, 2014, by Eric Wesa (bass), as well as brothers Liam (vocals) and Ross Collingwood (drums). It only took two months after the band’s inception before the boys found the ultimate guitar duo they were looking for, Gary Cordsen and Brett Gibbs. Once the lineup was solidified, they wasted no time performing shows and begin their musical journey. As a band, Medevil has two common goals; to explore their musical talents, and continue performing live for their fast-growing fanbase.

“At fifty six minutes in length, some listeners may be daunted by the sheer amount of Medevil they are being asked to absorb, but I can quite honestly say that there is not one second wasted here as the band deliver one of the most compelling, absorbing albums I’ve heard in quite some while. Congratulations to all involved.” – Sentinel Daily

“Medevil – Pray For Me – Six great new prog tracks you really must listen to!” – Prog Mag (March 6, 2023)

“a heavy onslaught of aggressive and menacing metal with moments of progressive diversion and musical exploration.” – Metal Roos

“The band has expanded their approach from their debut, writing songs that are more complex and progressive. Tracks like “Dead Before Birth” are intense and bombastic, while songs such as “Pray For Me” are mellower and more expansive. There are a few shorter numbers, but Medevil prefer extended compositions, with several tracks in the 6 to 9 minute range. The Udo Dirkschneider-esque vocals may be polarizing, but the songs are engaging and the musicianship impressive.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“There are more twists that catch you off guard here (Dead Before Birth), and is the perfect way to kick off “Mirror in the Darkness”. It’s probably their most complicated song rhythmically, and while they didn’t originally write this thinking it should be complex, it seemed to happen naturally with the riffs they were coming up with at the time. Somehow despite that complexity, it’s also extremely catchy.” – First Angel Media

“The sequel doesn’t disappoint in any way. The listening pleasure increases with every single track. Nothing is veiled (“Veiled”) here, the bandwidth of musical ability is lived out openly. Who or what to emphasize here is up to you. I recommend “Pray for Me”, “Weight of the Crown” and “Veiled” as check out tips. With the mirror of darkness you can see the direction: it’s going forward!! My rating is a full 10 Hellfire points.” – Hellfire Magazin

“Medevil has put their thinking caps on for this because there are some really interesting songs on this. There’s something for everyone on this so it will appeal universally to metalheads everywhere. Something is happening in Canada because this is about the tenth release I’ve reviewed, and they are all of high quality and pretty diverse. The question is – what will Medevil do next? They’re going to have to go some to top this. Score: 9/10” – My Global Mind

“Medevil’s overall sound is often interesting, like a weird mash-up of Metal Church and 90s prog-metal acts like Wicked Maraya. Cool ideas populate nearly every song and there are a collection of killer moments that hook the ear ” – Angry Metal Guy

“Overall, a heavy onslaught of aggressive and menacing metal with moments of progressive diversion and musical exploration.” – Metal Gods Tv

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 1, 2023

Rockshots Records – LA Metallers ARCH BLADE First Single “Nightbreed” Off New Album “Kill The Witch” Out July 2023

Founded in 2019 by father-and-son guitar duo Rob V and Big Rob, with Nigel Caicedo on bass, Ukrainian transplant Denys Podmazko on vocals, and Al “Mayhem” Mendez (ex-Dark Angel, ex-Dreams Of Damnation) on drums, LA-based heavy metallers Arch Blade will unleashing unto the pit their debut album “Kill The Witch” via Rockshots Records this coming July 2023.

Presenting versatile heavy metal with high energy both on record and live, the band’s debut full-length is a full-speed-intense blend of various different styles of metal (NWOTHM, Thrash, Power) mixed into one known as Arch Blade. Lyrically, the album is mostly based on vocalist Denys Podmazko’s dreams and nightmares along with his interests in comic books, sci-fi, horror movies, and sometimes documentaries.

“We picked the best songs that we had and focused on them. We did pass on a couple that was not right for the narrative of this album. We are already working on the second album. We feel like it will be even more composed and catchy, so to speak. We want to get back in the studio ASAP.” adds the band.

To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Arch Blade are sharing their music video for their first single “Nightbreed”, a super fun and catchy track to get your hails thrown high into the sky!

“Biker demons, speed, and metal are all you need. If you like classic heavy metal, you probably will like this one. It was inspired by the early 80s Iron Maiden and Judas Priest tunes, and it sounds like something from that time. It’s also our first official video, and that was a lot of fun shooting it in the desert outside of LA with a bunch of our friends.” says the band.

EPK – Our Dying World – The Egregious Sins Of Humanity (single) (2023)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“The Egregious Sins Of Humanity marks the next phase in the band’s development. It shows another level of musical maturity and has pushed us all into a level of figuring out how to play more sophisticated parts and make them work together. We all had to make huge strides on playing some of these parts and we’re looking forward to the next ones and how we’ll have improved individually as well as musically.” – Our Dying World

For fans of Dimmu Borgir, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God, Abigail Williams

“We’ll make you a solemn promise: Whatever condition you happen to be in now (unless you’re in a coma), the song and video we’re about to present will make you feel orders of magnitude more alive, accelerating your heart-rate, igniting your fast-twitch muscles, and spinning your head like a glorious top. And for those of you who want your music to attack like a pack of rabid dogs, it fills that need, too. The song is “Veil of the Reaper“, and it comes from Hymns Of Blinding Darkness, the forthcoming album by the Los Angeles band Our Dying World. The new album marks a significant departure from the music on their debut, Expedition, moving in directions that may spawn memories of such bands as Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, and Dimmu Borgir, and you’ll get a vivid understanding of that when you hear “Veil of the Reaper“.” – No Clean Singing – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“Hymns of Blinding Darkness is an intricate album with lofty pursuits featuring a stunning band makeover.” – Decibel Mag – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“As with many great evolutions, Our Dying World took all their best parts and made it huge. This album paces brilliantly and delivers in spades. An overall epic release of their own brand of hard rocking hymns.”  – Heavy Mag – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“Closing with the excellent Melodic Death Metal-esque piece “Veil of the Reaper”, Our Dying World manages to keep the listener’s attention with soaring guitar melodies, engaging keyboards, and overall solid songs that are well crafted but need more of a personal identity. There are definitely plenty of excellent things about this release that fans of the genre will greatly appreciate, so don’t be afraid and check out this band.” – Infernal Masquerade – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“Fans who appreciate equal doses of orchestra and mosh pit will likely dig this passionate full-length debut.” – Angry Metal Guy – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“One thing is clear from the young band as they prepare for the release of their second release; they’ve come to stir the standards that hold the metal scene and redefine them.” – Metal Temple – Hymns Of Blinding Darkness (2022)

“this first effort is every heavy metal enthusiast’s lottery win and is assured to gain a growing fanbase for the band” – Powerplay Magazine – 2019 – Expedition

“The band does a great job with mixing several different metal styles. Primarily, they channel Groove Metal, Thrash Metal, and Melodic Death Metal. They take all these approaches and blend them damn near seamlessly with enough intensity to level your ears.” – The Circle Pit – 2019 – Expedition

“The last 9 months working with Our Dying World on their release EP has been a wonderful journey that has had about every twist and turn you could imagine while making a record. Some were typical to the actual recording process, and some were a part of the personal journey that one finds themself in when baring their soul to the world.” – Ultimate Studios Inc. – 2019 – Expedition

“Some metal bands in this era just tackle the genre just for the sake of it. Because the “scene kids” are into it and screaming is all the hype. But then, you run into a band like Our Dying World, proving one record at a time that true metal is a genre that isn’t going to die anytime soon, thanks to bands like them and others of their caliber.” – Artist Reach Official

“this first effort is every heavy metal enthusiast’s lottery win and is assured to gain a growing fanbase for the band” – Powerplay Magazine

================================================================

About The Track: The song opens up on a flurry of strings and a descending scale from an orchestra that makes a brief appearance before blast beats and double bass erupt across the listener’s ears. Choirs sing in a chant across the chaos before it all dies down as quickly as it came. Austin’s guitars pave the way for the verse to come in. David starts in with the lyrics, “I hear a voice; a whisper from the pits of darkness”, almost relaying a message sent from beyond.  The drums slam the listener through the song as the orchestration becomes more and more apparent.

A deeper voice, almost as if it’s the whisper mention before suddenly comes out “I am nothing, I am all” called back by “I am shadows on your wall” almost telling the listener I am everything and I am nothing. The song dives back into the verse and we hear the full impact of the strings lifting the brutal guitars and drums into a new place.

The song takes a twist as something out of a Danny Elfman or Tim Burton film swings around. Sounding almost like a creepy xylophone and chimes, it’s almost as if you’re walking around blindly waiting for a big reveal in the song, and reveal it does.

The chorus comes swinging in with double bass, heavy chords, and low strings that match the lyrics, “Lost to the blackness I find myself in great demise; all hope is lost, no chance to be at one with life”. The subject of the lyrics has given up and we hear his solemn vow, “This endless void will soon find me, a lifeless corpse, who found salvation on a rope”.

Everything cuts out except a guitar, and it builds. We hear the subject utter his last words: “ And so it ends; this artificial claim of a blessed life. Sewn with seeds of failure and desperation, I take my leave with this note of abandonment”. And we hear a huge 808 drop.

Austin and Graham come in with a harmonized lead on keyboards and guitar, sweeping arpeggios across their instruments. Ray takes his solo next, a slightly different vibe to the song, but echoing eerily through his part with squeals and taps across the fretboard.

The band dives into the massive chorus a final time before the clean and calm guitars float out of the song with the sound of the wind at the bands back…

================================================================

Fun Facts – Story Angles:

The drums on this song are Tom’s fastest drums to date – previously he had topped out at 215 BPM and this song would end up coming in at 225. Tom had to completely change his style of playing and relearn his double bass technique to make the speeds in this song happen consistently. Needless to say, it ended up being a permanent way of playing after he figured it out.

Everything was recorded by Alex Nasla in his house or with Dave Valez for drums. We were able to do everything in extremely controlled environments that eliminated the need for a full production studio. It was a fun experience and definitely got experimental at some points.

Austin’s first writing with Our Dying World turned out to be his guitars for Egregious Sins. Needless to say, the guitars have gotten much faster and darker since Hymns Of Blinding Darkness; a change that everyone was incredibly enthusiastic about. He’s already written another single that’s coming soon…

The high-pitched bell noise in the creepy section of Sins is actually a typewriter sample. Graham has been known to sneak cool effects into sections to make them a bit more subtly dramatic.

Over the last few years, Los Angeles’s Our Dying World has gone through a tremendous evolution of sound from the thrashy death metal of their debut EP Expedition to the symphonic and melodic keyboard-oriented stylings of bands like Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, and Dimmu Borgir.

Formed in 2018 by drummer/guitarist Tom Tierney (ex-Whiplash), the group has played shows all over the USA in their short time together, bringing their sound from the fabled Sunset Strip in Hollywood to the New Jersey Metalfest where they opened for Metal Mike of Halford.

One thing is clear from the young band as they prepare for the release of their new 2023 single “The Egregious Sins Of Humanity” to follow their highly praised sophomore album “Hymns Of Blinding Darkness ” they’ve come to stir the standards that hold the metal scene and redefine them.

California’s Split Image is announcing their latest single “Demon Hunter”, which can be seen and heard via its lyric video premiere on IDIOTEQ here.

The band comments:

“We have been busy rehearsing and recording new songs in preparation for our return since our tour last year. We would like to introduce “Demon Hunter,” an electrifying new single that will leave you on the edge of your seat. This intense, heavy-hitting song is a mix of crossover thrash and hardcore, making it a perfect fit for fans of both genres. Canada’s HOOKER SPIT Unleash Death Metal Fury With Debut “Krötch Splitter” And First Single “Call of the Void”

“Krötch Splitter” Out July 2023

Emanating from Red Deer, Canada, Hooker Spit is an up-and-coming death metal band with a penchant for writing infectious riffs. Comprising of Vlad Gligor (lead guitar), Devin Link (rhythm guitar), José Garza (bass), Daniel White (vocals), and Scott Gooding (drums). The quintet is inspired by internationally acclaimed bands like At The Gates, Bloodbath, Carcass, and The Black Dahlia Murder. Filled with heavy chunky riffs, guttural vocals, and destructive drum grooves, Hooker Spit has developed a sonic quality and episodic visual concept that is unique to them. The first recorded look at the band comes with their seven-track debut album “Krötch Splitter” and the first single “Call of the Void”, which they comment on:

“This is the first song we wrote. It contains all of the elements you would expect in a Hooker Spit song. Lyrically the song deals with the subject of self-harm and the pendulum-like experience of someone who is trying to process those thoughts. The lyrics are intrusive thoughts personified. We did our best to represent the pain and suffering of someone dealing with these thoughts to address what we feel is something that many people deal with. This song does not glorify but rather tries to strike at the root inspiration for these thoughts like a sense of isolation and lack of purpose.”

The album “Krötch Splitter” combines dark, heavy, high-energy music intertwining with lyrical themes that convey the abject cosmic horror of what it means to be human. The lyrics have many themes. These range from dystopian realities and the depths of cannibalistic depravity to living your best life and aiming for self-actualization. Inspiration comes from many places such as pop culture, esotericism, and life in general.

Melodic, but without sacrificing the aggression, Hooker Spit offers a classic death metal sound that is suitable for old-school and new-school fans, especially those with an interest in At The Gates, Lamb of God, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

Rockshots Records – Finnish Thrashers TakaLaiton’s New Video Is Ready To “Rip N’ Burn”

New Album “Mindfection” Out July 2023

Finnish thrashers TakaLaiton will be unleashing their debut album “Mindfection” produced by Teemu Aalto (Omnium Gatherum, Insomnium) and due out on July 28th, 2023 via Rockshots Records.

Today, the band is sharing the first glimpse of their forthcoming mosh pit frenzy with the first single “Rip N’ Burn” accompanied by a music video, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/89FIY4Pjwvw

The band adds:

“This is our first new music out after 3 years of silence for us and this one is a total BOMB. We know that this is the type of stuff that our awesome fans love. Straight up fast beating in your face!”

Hailing from Finland’s far north, TakaLaiton garners a powerful melodic groove thrash-influenced attitude that is best seen in their super-energetic live shows that have always left fans with a sore neck and bruises from the moshpit. With a risk-taking thrash-fueled demeanor, TakaLaiton superbly blends fast-paced energy, and a bone-crushing groove, with melodies that can only be inspired by the dark, depressing, and frigid far-north. Not to mention the band’s lyrical onslaught, sung in both Finnish and English. Since their inception, the band has covered a lot of territories while on tour, bringing their rowdy stage presence to the Scandinavian regions, the rest of Europe, and Asian continents.

TakaLaiton has a “break the rules, exceed all limits” approach, as their name suggests; deriving from a Finnish baseball term for “swing the ball over the borders”. With that fierce frame of mind, the band has won “Heavy Metal Heart 11” a National Music Contest in Finland; and is ready to follow up their 2019 double EP “SisuKastraatio I & II” with 2023’s “Mindfection”, their first full-length that is based on today’s society, where we as people do everything to be a part of it and what’s sickening to the band is that people are ready to do anything in the name of couple minutes of fame. This album is based on this sick way our world has come to be.

The band adds about “Mindfection”:

“We think this will be the album that the TakaLaiton fans will consider a classic in the future. The well-known crushing sound and the rage are in there with the heartwarming melodies, which TakaLaiton fans are familiar with. We are absolutely psyched about the album’s release and the fact it’s coming through Rockshots Records! We spent literally everything we had when it comes to effort and money on this album and the final result turned out to be magnificent with the producer Teemu Aalto. With our great partners in Rockshots Records, we know that this album will find everybody that it has to!”

TakaLaiton‘s new album “Mindfection” is due out July 28th, 2023, and is recommended for fans of Pantera, Slipknot, and Testament.

TDF 2023 – Spotify Playlist – https://spoti.fi/3ItXuNG

TOLEDO DEATH FEST will be stirring up the most extreme mosh pit to ever tornado Ohio and its surrounding states. This year’s event is being hosted on June 3rd in Toledo at Mainstreet Bar and will feature headliners, Signs of the Swarm alongside The Convalescence, Casket Robbery, Summoner’s Circle, and many more (full lineup below).

Since its inception in 2009 by Keith Wampler, the frontman of The Convalescence and owner of The Legend Agency, the festival has showcased the talents of some of the American Midwest’s best up-and-coming metal bands. Past editions have seen past support from well-known artists such as Jungle Rot, Malevolent Creation, and The Breathing Process among many more. The festival has been an extreme metal pilgrimage for fans living in the surrounding states of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

“I am very happy to be able to bring Toledo Deathfest back in 2023 with one of the most insane lineups we’ve ever had. This festival has come from being local bands at small venues to a two-stage festival featuring bands from around the country thanks to the incredible support of everyone who attends each year. Thank you to everyone who has supported Toledo Deathfest and I look forward to seeing everyone again on June 3rd!” adds

Tickets are available at https://theconvalescence.bigcartel.com/ (General Admission, VIP Packages)

Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1456718568446520/

Highlights of the confirmed bands include headliners Signs of the Swarm with their slamming brutal chugs, to black metal-tinged frenzies and groove-driven downtempo bursts of aggression, the band cohesively captures a vile sound spreading across the genre’s various styles. The Convalescence is one of the USA’s unstoppable tour de force, touring Europe in 2022 with Chelsea Grin along with their latest single “No Survivors” ft. Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex, that has fans demanding more and more. Emerging from the darkest and most desolate areas of the Midwest, Casket Robbery creates its own signature style of death metal by infusing horror and occult themes. Their trademark huge riffs and unstoppable grooves create the unrelenting, brutally catchy, and eerie sound that only Casket Robbery is known for. Summoner’s Circle, hailing from Dandridge, TN, is a six-piece theatrical metal band that blends elements of doom, death, black and progressive metal into what they refer to as simply Epic Metal.

Out Now! Rockshots Records presents epic power metal with a twist of Greek Mythology from Montreal, Canada’s Walk With Titans, and their debut album “Olympian Dystopia”.

Efficient, epic, well executed, heavy, and mythical, this is what power metal fans will discover from 50 minutes of Walk With Titans’ first full-length “Olympian Dystopia” brought forth by Nikko Cyr (drums), Nick Maugy (rhythm guitar), Louis Jacques (lead guitar) (ex-Blackguard), Lydz Grondin (bass), and Jonathan Vézina (vocals & orchestrations). Greatly inspired by Greek mythology and the band’s perspectives on life, it’s a unique trait that will not leave you indifferent.

”We are stocked to have our album ‘Olympian Dystopia’ finally released. We couldn’t be happier about them sharing our songs. Our music has been described as if Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire, and Angra had a child. We’re very happy to bring ‘Olympian Dystopia to the world! Making it was quite a ride and we had so much fun, we hope fans will have as much fun listening to it!” adds guitarist Louis Jacques.

Walk With Titans is recommended for fans of Angra, Stratovarius, and Rhapsody of Fire.

GAMERRA’s “Tedium” Is Reminiscent Of Top Thrash Bands And Is One Of The Heaviest Releases Of The Year

Louisiana’s Gamerra is a good-time thrash band seeking the ultimate jam. Mixing in spicy doses of death metal and progressive metal, producing a sound akin to a fusion of Exodus and Death with the intense vocal patterns and delivery of Warbringer, the aggressive and experimental leanings of Revocation, the ferocious rhythm guitar tone of early Meshuggah, and the attitude and fun-loving vibes of Havok, all played in the spirit of old school Sepultura. These influences are honored in their latest album “Tedium”, which is their fifth release. They comment on the release:

“We’re really pumped to finally get this material out to the public and very relieved that it came out better than we hoped. We’ve had the songs demoed out for about a year and we got the art done for it way in advance. We hope everyone enjoys it. It’s a culmination of negative energy funneled into something productive. This in our eyes, created thrash which transcends the limitations of its subgenre. Our hope is that it will make people look at thrash in a new light.”

Over the years Gamerra has gotten a lot more intense and progressive musically and the vocal patterns and lyrics have gotten considerably more mature (not in content, but in quality). They quote that they are pretty far forward from the sound people heard in “Detached from Reality” (2019).

Through many lineup changes, Gamerra survives in the new decade. Despite consistently not having a drummer, and still lacking a bassist, Jacob Broussard, Jake Meche, and Reece Benoit persist on and will continue to write, record, and release music in the hopes of catching the ears of musicians that might be interested in playing with them.

Gamerra’s M.O. with this release was to make the heaviest thrash release they could muster, and they now present it for the fans to decide. It is recommended for listeners of Exodus, Death, and Revocation.

“Tedium” is out now as of May 26th, 2023, and available at the following links:

“Born from friendship and a love of commenting on the world around them, thrash metal band Gamerra is making a name for itself around Acadiana”… “Detached from Reality- available on iTunes- relies on observation of sociopolitical happenings and even touches on past events such as the Vietnam War.” – Miranda Davis from 008 Magazine (In February/March issue on page 81).

“Where does one start when talking about the mighty Gamerra? These Lafayette, Louisiana thrash metal inspired gents are young and they are dead set on blowing-I mean killing the Lafayette Metal Scene. Jacob Broussard, Reece Benoit, and [Jake] Meche are three highly talented musicians who have created a sound all their own.” – Moe Solet of Tales From the Riff
