NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 23, 2023

Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! Venice’s MEMBRANCE ‘s New Album “Undead Island”

Italian death metallers Membrance‘s new album “Undead Island” is now out via Extreme Metal Music, a subsidiary of Rockshots Records.

“Undead Island” is a collection of songs composed with the aim of fully pleasing whoever is playing them, with cues from groups of any sub-genre as long as they are in the extreme metal sphere. The album has harmonies like Immortal and Belphegor, outbursts like Testament and Sepultura, melodies like Kreator, but above all great “buzzing” and “skank beat” as the masters Entombed and Dismember taught us, even if everything in a more personalized key. The record has grindcore fringes a la Dying Fetus or early Carcass style snaps and even vocal inhales. Membrance has unwittingly experimented with breakdowns with black-ish backing lines, sung in dialects known by few as the Finntrolls have already done and pushed to the maximum of their accelerator as the Morbid Angels have tried at the time. In short, this record contains everything Membrance members like to hear from the first to the last note. And with Luca Cocconi’s technical assistance in picking out the best sounds the band liked, this is the record that makes them the proudest of and satisfied with so far.

The band adds:

“Undead Island is a flurry of punches in the stomach. No clean vocals or clean guitars. Without slow songs and without half measures. A death metal record that draws its inspiration mainly from extreme old school genres proposed to listeners not necessarily linked only to those genres and with the intention of hitting repeatedly without respite from the first to the last song. It’s not a disc that disdains melodic moments or deeper introspections for those who intend to look beyond its violent trait, but its task remains to terrify the listener and take him with us into an open lagoon storm.”

“Undead Island” is now available as of June 23, 2023.

About:

Membrance was born in Venice in 2012 from the mind of founding member Davide Lazzarini as a Death Metal and Black Metal crossover project, it wasn’t until 2014 and onwards, after several line-up changes, that the group stabilized in old-school Death Metal with blues/rock n’ roll influences, which was reinforced by the entry of lead guitarist Pietro Battiston.

After an intense period of live activity in the underground and various demo recordings, in 2017 Giovanni De Fraja joined as the drummer and Membrance decided to work more seriously on their own music. They immediately recorded and produced their own debut album “Abyss”, initially released independently it was quickly picked up by the Ukrainian label Envenomed Music.

Thanks to this first release, the group received a fair amount of approval in the Italian and European underground scene, and we’re contacted to play at Metaldays of Tolmin 2018 in Slovenia, along with the Winterdays of Metal of the same year, plus asked to be opening support for various international bands on tour in Italy such as Marduk, Brujeria, and Necrodeath.

These successes pushed the group to collaborate again with Envenomed Music and with the support of Narcoleptica Productions, Membrance produced their second studio album “Morality’s Collapse”, which was released at the beginning of 2019 with the sound evolution of 16th Cellar Studio in Rome (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hideous Divinity, Hour of Penance), starting a path towards the Swedish old school Death sound “HM2 style”.

However, with the arrival of the Covid pandemic, despite growing approval and greater support for the international live scene such as Entombed A.D., Cripple Bastards, and Benediction, after 5 years of activity, Pietro decided to abandon the group leaving to Gregorio, the rhythmic player who just recently entered the group, the task of replacing him.

Giacomo Rusconi also entered the band as the second guitarist, the group embarked on a path of musical evolution in the following years in which it abandoned the blues influences to embrace a more black metal style and worked on texts in Venetian dialect along with lyrical influences inspired by the lagoon folklore.

During the summer of 2022, the recordings of the third studio work “Undead Island” were concluded with the support of the AudioCore Studio, which further develops the sound path started on the basis of the Swedish HM2 sound.

Rockshots Records – Out Now! KRASHKARMA’s New Album “Falling To Pieces”

New Video “15 Minutes of Pain” + EU / USA Tour Dates

Los Angeles duo KRASHKARMA‘s new album “Falling To Pieces” is now available from Rockshots Records as of June 23rd. For the new full-length, the duo wrote and recorded at Karma Kollective Studios in North Hollywood, California along with Ralf Dietel taking on producing, mixing, and mastering plus artwork duties. They are a self-producing duo that can be considered a jack of all trades when it comes to everything from creating to presenting their music.

Featuring 12 tracks, “Falling To Pieces” is a story that will take fans on a journey from start to finish. From the thunderous drum intro and heart-wrenching scream pouring out of Niki Skistimas’ whole being, it sets the stage for what’s to come. From there, the album takes you on a wild ride, with ups and downs that will keep listeners’ ears excited to hear what’s next. KRASHKARMA has put a lot of effort into crafting a narrative that’s both compelling and epic, with each song building on the last to create a cohesive whole. Along the way, listeners will encounter soaring melodies, crushing riffs, and blistering solos over hammering grooves interplaying with the vocal harmonies between Niki and Ralf that KRASHKARMA is known for.

“With our latest album, we wanted to showcase what two people can accomplish when they’re fully committed to their craft. We pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in heavy metal, incorporating elements of punk, rock, and even classical music. We wanted to prove to the world that you don’t need a huge band to create an unforgettable sound, and we’re incredibly proud of the result. Our new album is a testament to our passion and creativity, and we hope that it inspires others to take risks and push the limits of what’s possible in music.” adds drummer/vocalist Niki Skistimas.

To celebrate the release day of “Falling To Pieces”, the duo is sharing their latest music video for the track “15 Minutes of Pain”.

“One of my favorite riffs on the album, which showcases how we arrange songs with my guitar/bass instrument. The title is a play on the words of Andy Warhol’s quote “15 Minutes Of Fame,” which means everyone has 15 minutes of success in life. In our case, it’s 15 minutes of excruciating pain. However, the song itself is only 4 minutes long and fantastic!” says Ralf Dietel ( Guitar/Bass/Vocals).

About: KRASHKARMA can easily be described as one of metal’s most accomplished duos. With an impressive track record, which includes over 3 million views on their YouTube channel, over 100,000 followers on Facebook and more than 600 shows performed around the globe, the band is ready to unveil new material with their 6th studio album entitled “Falling To Pieces”.

Looking behind the facts and figures, the band is one of the only few metal duos with a female drummer and vocalist, and a single guitarist/bassist. From behind the drum kit the energetic Niki Skistimas keeps the rhythm rock-tight as she delivers her seductively-charged vocals; meanwhile, guitarist/bassist and co-vocalist Ralf Dietel brings the material to life with his unique Frankenstein guitar/bass creation. Never before have two people created a sound so immense yet so vibrant.

The war machine of Montreal, Canada’s Vantablack Warship is made up of members who have worked in prominent groups of the Quebec underground scene for the last 30 years. With a self-titled EP and album “Abrasive Pulmonic Speak” under their belts, they have shared the stage with an impressive lineup of prominent bands. They now have a new partnership with the BAM & Co. Heavy to present the new album “Last Of The Hard Mouthed Poets”.

The title of the album speaks to blacklisted writers of yesteryear and reminds us not to take freedom for granted of expression and freedom of thought. “Last of the Hard Mouthed Poets” also refers to the ending eras, to dying races, to lost generations, and to cherish those who remain. It’s a hard-hitting bomb of an album ready to blow your mind with thrash metal riffs and expertly written lyrics. Vocalist Yannick “Pil” Pilon comments on the band’s latest single “Inside His Mind”:

“Fuckin’ thrash riff! I really like my vocals on this song. When the choruses arrive it opens up so much! We added sharp and dissonant guitars! It’s got that thrashy groove that fans of Lamb of God will instantly connect with. It’s a banger from start to finish! The track is a reflection of sorts from a suicidal person, silence, and secrecy. We don’t provide an answer, but only issues.”

Watch and listen to the video for “Inside His Mind” via its premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

The last album “Abrasive Pulmonic Speak” was released in 2018, so for fans it’s been a long wait for this release. The band expects that people who are already familiar with them will be pleasantly surprised with what they consider their best effort yet. It’s pedal-to-metal driving music that would be an excellent soundtrack to road trips this summer.

The tracks on “Last Of The Hard Mouthed Poets” all came together organically, but were mainly inspired by the writings of Beat Generation authors, and various life themes such as loss, perseverance, anti-racism, and cherishing the important things in life. They are unapologetically fast, and addictive, most suitable for fans of Cancer Bats, Slayer, and Pantera.

“Last of the Hardmouthed Poets” was released on April 28th, 2023, and is available from BAM & Co. Heavy.

Vancouver’s HARDBALL Update Western Canadian Tour Dates

New Single “Worried As Shit” Puts A New Spin On Grunge w/ Infused Hardcore Punk

Self-Titled Album Out July 21st

Back standing: Jeremy Head (Drums), Front L-R: Jamie Black (Bass), Scott Budgie (Guitar/Vocals), Photo Credit – by Kaila Hald

Canada’s Hardball has updated their Western Canadian dates for this coming August 2023, which will be in support of their self-titled debut album out on July 21st.

Tour Dates:
Aug 4 – Vancouver, BC – 648 Kingsway – w/ Paul is Dead
Aug 6 – New Westminster, BC – Bully’s Studios
Aug 9 – Nelson, BC – Kootenay Co-op Radio – w/ The Tarholes
Aug 10 – Edmonton, AB – The Buckingham – w/ Take Sides and Umi Yokai
Aug 11 – Calgary, AB – TBA – w/ Pizza Bath
Aug 12 – Oliver, BC – Firehall Brewing
Aug 26 – Salmo, BC – Hogkegger Fest w/ Rad Dog

Emerging from the rainy coast of Vancouver, BC, Hardball brings you a raw and erratic punk/grunge self-titled debut album. Vocalist/guitarist Scott Budgie channels distressed and agitated emotions into the writing, while drummer Jeremy Head and bassist Jamie Black amplify those feelings of utter frustration, confusion, and absurdity into an energetic and aggressive grunge sound that is permeated by punk and hardcore influences. Their debut single “Worried As Shit” is the perfect introduction to the trio, they comment:

“It’s a perfect initiation to Hardball, it’s an abrupt punk song carried by a rock beat, with vocals coming from a place of confusion and self-deprecation (in typical HARDBALL fashion). It also has a cool recurring noodly riff that crushes and a sudden clean bridge was thrown in to keep the extreme dynamic range thing happening.”

While this is not nostalgic grunge, Hardball has created something innovative and contemporary while still honouring their heroes from the ‘90s alternative rock and ‘80s punk scenes. They’re having their cake and eating it too, and are offering you a slice.

Turbulent and chaotic, Hardball delivers an enjoyable new album through drums going completely ape all over the place, obnoxious riffing and big low-tuned power chords, and heavily distorted bass guitar. They are recommended for fans of Nirvana, Wipers, and Hüsker Dü.

Watch and listen to the lyric video for “Worried As Shit” at https://youtu.be/rza3NATHCsk

Montreal, QC – June 22, 2023

Rockshots Records – LA Metallers ARCH BLADE’s New Single “Factory of Sin” Gives Nod To 80s Glam

New Album “Kill The Witch” Out July 2023

LA-based heavy metallers Arch Blade will be making their mark on the international metal scene with the release of their debut album “Kill The Witch” via Rockshots Records this coming July 2023.

To date, they have shared their first single “Nightbreed” and are now ready to unveil their second single “Factory of Sin”, a track in tribute to the hair metal days of glam.

“We call this one a stripper song, because it’s so groovy, and you’ll want to dance to it. It’s a little bit different from all of the rest of the songs on our record. It’s more of a hard rock song with a hint of 80’s glam. It’s a freakshow song about a fictional place where Arch Blade plays a show. We are also planning to make a music video for this one.” adds the band.

Listen to “Factory of Sin” at https://bfan.link/factory-of-sin

Founded in 2019 by father-and-son guitar duo Rob V and Big Rob, with Nigel Caicedo on bass, Ukrainian transplant Denys Podmazko on vocals, and Al “Mayhem” Mendez (ex-Dark Angel, ex-Dreams Of Damnation) on drums, Arch Blade presents versatile heavy metal with high energy both on record and live.

The band’s first full-length is a full-speed-intense blend of various different styles of metal (NWOTHM, Thrash, Power) mixed into one sound known as Arch Blade. Lyrically, the album is mostly based on vocalist Denys Podmazko’s dreams and nightmares along with his interests in comic books, sci-fi, horror movies, and sometimes documentaries.

“We picked the best songs that we had and focused on them. We did pass on a couple that was not right for the narrative of this album. We are already working on the second album. We feel like it will be even more composed and catchy, so to speak. We want to get back in the studio ASAP.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, King Diamond, and Testament, “Kill The Witch” is due out on July 28th, 2023, and is available for album pre-order at https://bit.ly/KillTheWitchCD.

Thrash metal fans, brace yourself for an onslaught of unrelenting aggression as Sinnery returns with their latest EP “Below the Summit”. Across five tracks, they harness the essence of true thrash, delivering a sonic storm that will leave fans and critics alike gasping for breath. The first single “Share This”, was written when Covid first started and it reflects on losing touch with what actually matters and being consumed by social media. The band comments:

“We’re super excited to finally release “Share This!.” It’s a song that injects extra energy into any venue we play it in and is probably one of the heaviest songs we’ve written. We wanted to combine new elements into our music and this one has some striking Sinnery riffs. “Share This” is about how technological progress has stripped us from our humanity and the way that social media is used to get some crazy messages into our heads where some of us cease to think for ourselves any longer.”

Sinney was formed in mid-2010 when Idan and Alon met at a music school in Herzliya, Israel, and were hitched together to play in a band, it didn’t lead anywhere right away, but after a few years of pursuing other interests, they eventually revived and the band took the form it has today. According to the band, writing “Below The Summit” was a very productive and consistent process, they really bled these songs out.

Sinnery believes that all of their existing fans will find that these five tracks implement what they are all about in the most concise way yet. From catchy choruses to parts heavier than ever before they feel this is their most complete work yet. “Below The Summit” is recommended for fans of Metallica, Power Trip, and Trivium.

“I’ve said this many times in the past, but one of the many things I love about this business is following the progress of bands as they come of age, mature and get better at their craft. What’s not to love about paying early witness to a bunch of folks gelling and heading on an upward trajectory as they make the move towards proverbial world domination? Israeli thrashers Sinnery are one such band. Gathering their Exodus, Testament, Gojira, The Haunted and post-St. Anger Metallica influences, the quartet from Herzliya, Tel Aviv will soon be releasing their second full length, Black Bile via Exitus Stratagem Records. This new tasty little rager pops the clutch and pumps the gas on modern thrash with a grizzled edge that improves upon the roots planted with their 2016 debut A Feast of Fools and their 2013 demo, Showing Teeth.” – Decibel Magazine

“Sinnery [Israel] Proves Thrash is NOT Dead in Groove-Oozing Cesspit of ‘Black Bile’” – Metal Has No Borders

““Death thrash” is the simplified genre description for what Sinnery do, but it’s the strong melodies and the variations among and within the songs that make the album such an adventure to experience from start to finish. Compared to the debut all those years ago, which was entirely written by vocalist/guitarist Alon Karnieli back when he was about 16-17 years of age, these tracks are more elaborate, more sophisticated, more reflective of different moods, while at the same time being more brutally extreme.” – No Clean Singing

“You just gotta love a band that knows exactly what the hell they wanna be. Sinnery bow to no one, instead turning heel to scissor kick you in the temple with battering ram riffs, suplexing drums, and neck-twisting vocals. You know the opening of Back to the Future where Marty McFly plays a single guitar chord on Doc Brown’s hyper amplifier and goes flying across the room from the resulting sound? “The Burning” provides the same effect regardless of the size of your chosen sound output device – you will be ragdolled and tossed around like a frisbee in a college quad by the quartet’s supreme rippage.” – Everything Is Noise

“I am old enough to have seen the likes of Metallica, Anthrax and others perform live at small venues in London. I’m also a huge fan of the new wave of thrash like Dust Bolt, Lost Society, etc. Sinnery is welcome inclusion with their aggression, energy, and obvious hunger. They might verge on Death Metal a tad with the vocals but that’s ok. With Matt Hyde (Machine Head, Trivium, Slipknot) having mixed and mastered this beast you know the sounds are gonna be right in your face. An excellent sophomore effort – please just keep thrashing!” – My Global Mind

“Sinnery straddle those lines between conventional thrash and modern/groove metal with enough solid musicianship and heaviness to align well with a multitude of touring possibilities.” – Dead Rhetoric

“For those that just want to bang heads and go nuts, there are songs like “The Burning,” “Who Will Be Eaten First,” and “Anti Tribe.” “Hanged From The Sun” and “Holes” flesh out their thrash by either toning down the speed or putting an emphasis on melody.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

VVON DOGMA I Launches Patreon Bass Lessons w/ 9-String Playthrough Video For “Day of the Dead”

New Album “The Kvlt of Glitch” Out Now!

VVON DOGMA I‘s music is not for the faint of heart. Their music is complex, challenging, and at times even unsettling. But for those who are willing to take the journey with them, the rewards are immense, especially if any are also interested in bassist Chaoth’s launched lessons via Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/BeyondBass. The band’s music is a sonic exploration of the human experience, headed by bassist Chaoth who wields an eye-catching nine-string bass. His prowess can be witnessed in the latest bass playthrough video for “Day of the Dead”, which comes off the newly released album “The Kvlt of Glitch”. He shares his thoughts on the single:

““Day of the Dead” is in the same vein as “Triangles”, but is definitely electronic-heavy. Crazy tapping and riffing in there. This song too had its name as a working title forever simply because I found that main tapping riff on November 1st, which in certain cultures is the Día de Muertos. Then it turned into a tale of lust and suicide… I think…”

When it comes to his influences, Chaoth cites that, for him, when it comes to metal he resides more in the Alt-Metal realm and vibes with modern low-tuned guitars that provide sexy rhythms. He says that it’s a beautiful thing to see guitar culture that keeps evolving after all these years of rock and roll despite the music scene being mainly electronic and synthetic.

He continues to explain that while Vvon Dogma I is still a very young outfit, “The Kvlt of Glitch” is way more produced than the modest “Communion” EP. It has proper album production and to him, it feels great to finally have a proper sound to his ideas.

A frantic barrage of intense low-end and throbbing synth awaits adventurous listeners especially those who enjoy Meshuggah, Igorrr, and Deftones.

Watch the bass playthrough for “Day of the Dead” via its premiere on Bass Player HERE.

“The Kvlt of Glitch” was released on May 5, 2023.

“The invigorating glitched out bliss they have on display here is as dense as it is rewarding, with nothing falling out of place, yet with everything shifting all the time. If “The Void” is any indication of what’s to come, I seriously cannot wait to hear the rest of The Kvlt of Glitch, when it lands on May 5th independently.” – Everything Is Noise

“Vvon Dogma I are an act I praised many, many moons ago and I’m stoked to do so again. The band lead by ex-uneXpect bassist Frédérick Filiatrault is mixing electronics, progressive metal, vocoder, grooves and more. This one is for prog nerds and bass geeks alike. Also, there’s a wild cover of Radiohead’s “2 + 2 =5″ and you won’t hear anything like it anywhere else.” – Metal Injection

“Vvon Dogma are back with a new video for their new record, The Kvlt of Glitch, in the form of the track “One Eye.” It features some seriously insane nine-string bass playing… Chaoth, their nine-string bassist, is a big driver behind their experimental sound and their popularity.” – Metal Sucks

“The album promises to push boundaries with its unconventional approach to music.” – Metal Insider

“The path has been challenging for this new Canadian juggernaut, but now awakened in their futuristic glory Vvon Dogma I has positioned themselves to emerge victorious in a way past efforts did not. Worship noise, don leather straps and desert goggles, turn down the lights—the Kvlt will consume you.” – Angry Metal Guy

“if you’re in the market for something a bit different and potentially challenging, then check this out. If you’re a fan of bands such as Scale the Summit, Synaptic Glitch, Cynic, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, Sleep Token, Unprocessed, and OU, then put this on your radar.” – Wonderbox Metal

“If you have a taste for more of a quirky and off kilter variety of djent-flavored contemporary progressive metal, this album is probably one that merits a check.” – Progressor

About:

Triskelyon’s debut album “Downfall” was released on October 28th, 2022 via Moribund Records. With “Downfall”, Triskelyon delivered an amazing headbanging album that harkened back to the old-school days of such luminaries as Forbidden, Agent Steel, Sentinel Beast, Détente, Overkill, and Testament. The album was mixed/mastered by Michael Small with the post-apocalyptic cover art created by IvaanMR11.

Triskelyon was conceived in late 2021 as a studio-only project by Geoff Waye, guitarist for Artach and Category VI. By January 2022, the band featured contributions from vocalists Pete Healey and Marlee Ryley (Hyperia), along with drum programming by Raul Marques (Burning Torment) made their introduction to the metal world with a 3-track self-titled EP.

Composed and written mostly by Geoff Waye, with drum programming provided by Raul Marques, “Downfall” saw the band’s next evolution as their first full length and it utilizes a myriad of both male and female guest vocalists from Oberon, Hyperia, Catagory VI and Incidium. “Downfall” has a range and depth of sound unique in today’s modern thrash metal scene, setting the band ahead and apart from the hordes of young new acts. Triskelyon also features guest bass appearances from members of Afterforever and Category VI, making Triskelyon a veritable supergroup of the Canadian metal scene.

Depicting a nature taking over post-apocalyptic view of our ever-screwed-up world, Triskelyon keeps with 80’s thrash tradition employing world-ending yet self-empowering socially conscious lyrical themes. From straight-up 80’s thrashers like “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)”, to the power metal laced “Find A Way”, and more anthemic thrash tracks such as “Hunger” and “Willful Ignorance”, “Downfall” is sure to satiate even the most discriminating old-school and modern thrash metal fan alike! The album even features a unique and thrashing rendition of the Billy Idol song “Nobody’s Business”.

“This was one of my anticipated albums this year as the EP wet my whistle but was far from being enough to satisfy my metal hunger. Hopefully this is not a one off because this is one of the most unique projects to come across my radar in a long time. I’m curious to see where Mr. Waye takes this project next. We shall see. In the meantime…get this album, you’ll thank me for it!” – Metal-Rules

“The highlight of the opening trio is the rampaging “Odyssey (Blessed By Steel)” which finds Marlee Ryley of Hyperia in fine form. Waye is on the rampage with a collection of frenetic riffs and the result is an adrenaline rush of a song that really gets things going. “A Time of War” then finds Triskelyon in Megadeth territory minus the trademark snarl of Dave Mustaine for what can only be described as a classic Thrash anthem… All in all, there is plenty to enjoy here, especially if you’re a lover of the mighty riff ” – Metal Noise

“Thrash Metal with melody, good arrangements and multiple voices.” – PowerMetal.de

“Power-Thrash equipped with murderous riffs on a technically first-class level with changeable exciting vocal variability, at times also surrounded by a dark atmosphere.” – FFM-Rock

“Most of the songs on here are fast and furious, such as “Balance of Terror” with its Hanneman/King-esque riffing, the skull-piercing “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)” and the powerful “A Time of War,” though they do slow down a bit on the moody march of “Find a Way” while still remaining heavy as all hell… Triskelyon don’t reinvent the wheel of Power/Thrash, but they sure know how to keep it spinning, and that makes Downfall worth giving a spin of its own.” – The Metal Crypt
