WACKEN METAL BATTLE USA Announces National Final Winner! FADRAIT

– One Band To Conquer Them All & Play Wacken Open Air 2023 –

One band to conquer them all and play Wacken Open Air! Wacken Metal Battle USA is proud to announce this year’s national champion from the 2023 battles that were hosted across the country is San Diego, CA’s Fadrait who performed alongside other finalists Deathblow (Salt Lake City, UT), Steellake (El Paso, TX), Final Girls (New Jersey), Anubis (Los Angeles, CA), Villains In Vain (Eugene, OR), and Autumn Lies Buried (Clarksville, TN).

The 2023 National Final was held in San Diego, CA on May 13th at the Brick By Brick where the seven finalists were on various categories of professionalism and musicianship by experienced industry professionals that included Rod Kukla (Silver Lining Music/Wacken), Mark Vieira (Parts Unknown Management), and Dylan Marks (Atheist, White Wizzard).

Fadrait will be representing the USA at the international battle that hosts 29 other participating countries at one of the world’s most prestigious stages and the largest metal festival Wacken Open Air (Aug 4 -6), which has an attendance of over 80,000 people, and held in Wacken, Germany for now over 30 years.

“Every year this competition gets fiercer and more exciting to watch. This was the first year we held the National Final in San Diego and the amazing metal community there did not disappoint. Moving the National Final to San Diego also allowed us to add another band to the National Final which resulted in 7 of the most talented unsigned bands from across the country absolutely destroying the stage. It was a delight to witness and I feel sorry for the judges who had to pick only one band to represent the U.S. in the Wacken Metal Battle in Germany. I want to thank everyone involved and I hope we can keep growing this battle!

Congrats to Fadrait for winning the Wacken Metal Battle USA. They are a progressive death metal band with amazing talent everywhere you look on that stage. I know they will go to Germany and represent the USA with pride!”
adds WMBU Promoter and Artist Relations Eric Dow.

Fadrait joins the list of previous bands to perform on metal’s most prestigious stage, San Diego’s Mythraeum (2022), San Diego’s Monarch (2019), Anaheim’s Voices of Ruin (2018) and Philadelphia’s Corpse Hoarder (2017).

This year’s 2023 WMBU national finalists were the following:

FALL OF EARTH Unveils Canadian Tour Dates + Captivating Music Video For Title Track Off New Album “From the Ashes”

Photo Credit – Christopher Wood – Listen Media, www.listenmedia.ca

Edmonton’s Fall Of Earth has embraced labeling themselves as “Hybrid Metal”, as their sound is a contagious mélange of genres, that is continuously being refined. The primary elements come from progressive, death, and thrash, and over time, they find a lot of their tracks becoming longer, more epic, and more dynamic becoming more melodic and groove-oriented, as well as utilizing a healthy balance between heavy sections and clean sections. The latest iteration of the Canadian quartet can be experienced with their recently released sophomore album “From the Ashes” and the fresh new video for the title track. The band shares their thoughts:

“The song speaks levels on childhood abuse, reclamation, and metamorphosis. Rising from the ashes like a phoenix, all people are capable of rehabilitation, and recovering from trauma. Neglected and beaten as a child and into early adulthood, the character of this song resists their oppressive parent and chooses to rise above the smoke (uncertainty) and evil of their past. This track is practically death metal and is incredibly fast and heavy. It jumps into the evil riffs right off the bat without warning. You can’t put the brakes on this song, it just rips all the way through and also contains our first-ever breakdown to finish it off.”

Since writing this second album, Fall OF Earth says that they have a better understanding of what they want their music to become and where to steer the direction of their future works. All across the board, their lyrics come from a very personal place and hold a serious connotation.

Creative, unpredictable, and melodic, with a wide variety of influences, Fall Of Earth offers a little bit of something for everyone, they will be especially of interest to those who enjoy Periphery, Mastodon, and Trivium.

“From The Ashes” was released on April 21, 2023, and is available at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/fallofearth/from-the-ashes

“Fresh Tracks: Fall of Earth offers a smorgasboard of metal on From the Ashes… What if a band took numerous metal genres and combined them to form a monstrous kaiju? This is the modus operandi of Edmonton’s Fall of Earth. Known more succinctly as “hybrid metal,” Fall of Earth’s sound encompasses death, thrash, progressive, metalcore; you name it, they have it cranked to 11″ – Edmonton Journal

“It is an extreme variety of the form we get here, and one that at the core level is defined by seamless transitions between extreme metal, thrash metal and power metal. But in between we also get quirkier parts more aligned with progressive metal, and more interestingly from a progressive point of view we also get a liberal array of acoustic and semi-acoustic passages and interludes with a more delicate and atmospheric laden style, form and orientation. The vocals come with the same amount of versatility, with harsh and melodic lead vocals being the main forms used. A production to seek out by those with an interest in a powerful and vibrant variety of extreme progressive metal expanded with a liberal array of delicate and atmospheric laden interludes.” – Progressor

“The nine songs present some real diversity in the genre by embracing several different approaches” – Metal Temple

““Medusa,” hits hard and powerful a song that immediately grabs the listener by the throat and never lets go.” – The Median Man

“Fall of Earth are gradually gaining more and more of the city spotlight” – E-Know

“Fall of Earth, is bolting through the scene with their magnificent stage presence and performance. High energy and a sure crowd-pleaser that will leave you wanting more. I’ll admit, these guys blew my mind! I’m a big fan now for sure! Some awesome individuals as well that genuinely show a passion for their craft and a desire to deliver a live show you won’t forget!” – Heavy Metal A Way of Life

TOLEDO DEATH FEST Announces New Headliners SIGNS OF THE SWARM, CASKET ROBBERY, SUMMONER’S CIRCLE For 2023 Lineup

TDF 2023 – Spotify Playlist – https://spoti.fi/3ItXuNG

Due to originally announced headliners OCEANO along with VCTMS and INCITE unable to perform at this year’s 2023 TOLEDO DEATH FEST, the festival is proud to announce their replacements will be SIGNS OF THE SWARM as the new headliner along with CASKET ROBBERY and SUMMONER’S CIRCLE.

The festival organizer Keith Wampler issued the following statement:

“We have good news and we have bad news. The bad news is that Oceano and VCTMS are no longer able to perform at TOLEDO DEATHFEST 2023, This was very unexpected and is something that is out of our control. We ask that you please respect the Bands, Organizers, and Venue and understand that we are all still working to bring you a great day of heavy music. That being said, We do have some good news… We were able to get two amazing artists to replace Oceano and VCTMS at this year’s event! They are Signs of the Swarm and Casket Robbery. We really appreciate these bands jumping in on such short notice and are looking forward to seeing them perform! Thank you to everyone who has supported Toledo Deathfest and we will see you all June 3rd!”

along with a statement from OCEANO:

“We deeply regret to inform you that we will be unable to perform at Toledo Deathfest. The band is currently undergoing personal and internal changes that have unfortunately hindered our ability to proceed with our plans. However, we are pleased to announce that the festival organizers have secured another exceptional band to take our place. We encourage you to continue supporting your local music scene and show your enthusiasm for all the talented bands performing. The lineup promises to be outstanding! We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. We hope to connect with you again in the near future!”

TOLEDO DEATH FEST will be stirring up the most extreme mosh pit to ever tornado Ohio and its surrounding states. This year’s event is being hosted on June 3rd in Toledo at Mainstreet Bar and will feature headliners, Signs of the Swarm alongside The Convalescence, Casket Robbery, Summoner’s Circle, and many more (full lineup below).

Since its inception in 2009 by Keith Wampler, the frontman of The Convalescence and owner of The Legend Agency, the festival has showcased the talents of some of the American Midwest’s best up-and-coming metal bands. Past editions have seen past support from well-known artists such as Jungle Rot, Malevolent Creation, and The Breathing Process among many more. The festival has been an extreme metal pilgrimage for fans living in the surrounding states of Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

“I am very happy to be able to bring Toledo Deathfest back in 2023 with one of the most insane lineups we’ve ever had. This festival has come from being local bands at small venues to a two-stage festival featuring bands from around the country thanks to the incredible support of everyone who attends each year. Thank you to everyone who has supported Toledo Deathfest and I look forward to seeing everyone again on June 3rd!” adds

Emerging from the darkest and most desolate areas of the Midwest, Casket Robbery creates its own signature style of death metal by infusing horror and occult themes. Their trademark huge riffs and unstoppable grooves create the unrelenting, brutally catchy, and eerie sound that only Casket Robbery is known for. Summoner’s Circle, hailing from Dandridge, TN, is a six-piece theatrical metal band that blends elements of doom, death, black and progressive metal into what they refer to as simply Epic Metal.

Long Island, NY old school death metallers Pyrexia will be hitting the road this August for ten dates across the US East Coast in support of their re-recorded 25th-anniversary edition of “System of The Animal” due on out June 6th via the band’s own label Gravitas Entertainment.

Aug 6 – Spartanburg, SC – Ground Zero

Aug 9 – Orlando, FL – Conduit
Aug 10 – Atlanta, GA – TBD
Aug 11 – Newark, DE – Halftime Sports Pub

The 25th Anniversary edition of “System of The Animal” was recorded with Pyrexia‘s current band lineup that consists of Chris Basile (Guitar), Shaun Kennedy (Bass), Jim Beach (Vocals), and John Glassbrenner (Drums)at Chapel Sound on Long Island, NY, and was mixed and mastered at Demigod Studios by Miguel Tereso. With “System of the Animal 25”, Pyrexia provides the blueprint for OG Brutality. It’s fierce, angry, and in your face. This album will not leave your playlist. So put on your moshing shoes for this one. Heads will be banging and elbows flying.

“This album was ahead of its time in 1997. I don’t think a lot of people were ready for such a mix of Brutal Death Metal VS. Beatdown Hardcore. When people hear this material with the production we put together with Demigod Studio, combined with the fact that the music was written in the mid-90s. I think it puts Pyrexia in a whole new light for a lot of people. I think the songwriting is really going to stand out for listeners bored with bands that put out the same album over and over.” says Basile.

“System of the Animal 25” is due out on June 6th, 2023 via the band’s label Gravitas Entertainment.

About:

Band formation: 1990 – present
Location: Long Island, New York

1987-1989: Chris Basile joins the band Mortuary along with Terrence Hobbs, Doug Cerrito, and Mike Smith, all of Suffocation. Together over 30 songs were written by the band and many of the songs and riffs written during this time appear on both Pyrexia and Suffocation’s early releases leading to many comparisons.

1990: Basile meets up with the four other original members Guy Marchais, Rob Shimonski, Daryl Wagner and Mike Andrejko, and Pyrexia is formed. They go on to release their 1991 demo Liturgy of Impurity and later the classic 1993 Full-length Sermon of Mockery, cementing their place in the anoles of Death Metal history……

Pyrexia continued to release one seminal release after another including their 1997 “System of the Animal”, and even teaming up with Trevor Peres of Obituary in 1999 to form the band “Catastrophic” which went on to release their debut album on Metal Blade records.

In 2007 the band signed with Unique Leader Records and began an extensive campaign of touring and performing both in America and overseas in support of the next three albums released under the UL moniker that continues today.

With the addition of Gravitas Entertainment and Management as full-time management for the band, the schedule and team in place for 2023 have the band set for new heights…..

HESSDALEN LIGHT Welcome You To The Desert In Progressive Instrumental Video “Khajiit Has Wares, If You Have Coin”

Hessdalen Light began in early 2015 as a solo bedroom project of Tanner Thornton while he was pursuing a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Florida. Enamored with the creative freedom that instrumental progressive rock music allowed, Thornton sought to turn his bedroom hobby into a full-fledged creative endeavor, and eventually release his music as an EP. He has since released two instrumental EPs and most recently, has a nerdy single “Khajiit Has Wares, If You Have Coin” ready to take you into Elsweyr. They comment:

“It was the 4th song written for our upcoming album but it really stuck with us so we decided to prioritize it as a standalone single. The song is structured in true prog fashion, where each part flows independently into the next and no parts repeat. This creates a fun, adventurous type of experience for the listener as they journey through it. We also tried out some new delays and other modulation effects on this song, and intend to showcase that newer style throughout the rest of the album.”

“Khajiit Has Wares, If You Have Coin” elicits feelings of being young again and going for an adventure. With its progressive structure, like many of their songs, none of the parts repeat and there are no true “choruses” or “verses”. This makes the song feel like more of a linear journey to the listener.

Hessdalen Light hints that this single is only the tip of the iceberg, and it will be part of their debut full-length album. In the beginning, they had more of a cleaner, traditional math rock type of sound, however, more recently, their sound has shifted towards the general prog rock realm.

Fun and adventurous, Hessdalen Light provides an excellent soundtrack for gaming, relaxing, and partying. They are recommended for Chon, The Fall of Troy, Polyphia and Dance Gavin Dance.

“It’s thoughtful, complex and emotional. The four-and-a-half minutes is a journey and a half with the guitar, bass and drums weaving in and out of each other. Every instrument sort of does it’s own thing, yet come together in a very seamless and beautiful way. Would it be dumb to compare this to some of the math rock-y songs found on the Death Note soundtrack? That’s just what kind of frame of reference this writer has for this subgenre.” – Central Dallas Track – May 18, 2022 – Song of The Day – Hessdalen Light — “Devil’s Cigar”

========================================================

Fun Facts – Story Angles:

1. Many of the Hessdalen Light’s song titles (as well as the band name) are references to unexplained scientific phenomena. With the music being instrumental, this provides a way to weave in some intrigue for our listeners who want to learn about something cool or interesting outside of the music.

2. Zephaniah (Drums) and Antonio (Bass) worked together at a local BBQ chain several years ago and had always tossed around the idea of forming a band, but the timing or situation never worked out. It wasn’t until many years later, that Antonio was already linked up with Tanner (Guitar) and Hessdalen Light, that the two BBQ boys were able to realize their goal of playing in a band together.

3. Our close friend, Trey Herod, of the Band Fall Europa, has built and opened his own recording studio (Europa Studios). For this single and every subsequent song on our upcoming album, we recorded all the instruments at Europa Studios and the songs will be Mixed and Mastered by Trey Herod.

4. All three current members of Hessdalen Light are fully self-taught on their respective instruments.

5. We have a band tradition where we get a huge breakfast at a restaurant in Dallas called ‘Snooze’ before any recording/studio session we do.

Hessdalen Light began in early 2015 as a solo bedroom project of Tanner Thornton while he was pursuing a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Florida. He spent the following 3 years writing music in the little free time he had from the commitments of his studies.

Enamored with the creative freedom that instrumental progressive rock music allowed, Tanner sought to turn his bedroom hobby into a full-fledged creative endeavor, and eventually release his music as an EP. Upon graduation from UF in 2018, he traveled to Nashville to meet up with his hometown friend, Hank Bachara, and record four songs that would eventually become Hessdalen Light’s debut release, Gravity. The Gravity EP was released in late 2018 and received generally positive feedback.

Around this same time, work brought Tanner out to Dallas, TX to begin a new life away from his home state of Florida. The 9-5 lifestyle offered him much more flexibility than school, and he knew it was finally time to turn Hessdalen Light into a full live band.

Tanner began searching for musicians to join HL and quickly came across Kyle Garrison, a seasoned drummer with a similar appreciation for progressive rock music. Kyle then recruited his good friend and bassist, Antonio Guzman, as the two had formerly played together in a local grunge band called Doubt. The trio of Thornton, Garrison, and Guzman immediately hit it off musically, and thus Hessdalen Light had reached its full potential as a live band.

The trio played several shows around the DFW area in 2019 and 2020 until the pandemic hit, quickly halting their aspirations. They used this time to focus on writing more music that would eventually make up a second EP.

In early 2021, Thornton and Guzman mutually parted ways with Garrsion and spent some time searching for his replacement. They eventually settled on drummer Zephaniah Stake, as Stake and Guzman were long-time high school friends.

The trio immediately set their focus back to recording and in the fall of 2021, they recorded their 2nd EP, “False Dichotomy” with their friend Trey Herod at Europa Studios in Crandall, TX.

False Dichotomy was released in March of 2022, after being mixed and mastered by Jamie King. The trio of Thornton, Guzman, and Stake spent the remainder of the year playing shows around the DFW area, including opening for Math Rock juggernauts Standards and Catbamboo.

In 2023, the band hopes to keep writing and releasing new music and playing more shows as they continue building their following organically.

WHYTHRE Unleashes New Video For Thrashy Melo-Death Title Track “Impregnate My Hate”

New Album “Impregnate My Hate” Out May 2023

Members of Seattle-based Whythre are like every other world citizen, observers of our conditions, and some of those observations are expressed on their forthcoming album and its title track “Impregnate My Hate”, which the band is unveiling today as its third single before the full-length releases on May 26th.

Vocalist/guitarist Adam Chambers explains the track further:

Lyrically, this song is about modern times! Most folks are jumping down each other’s throats, willing vessels to the online projection of what modern entertainment and communication should be. My friends showed me an old sci-fi series called ‘V’ that deals with subtle mind control and mass hypnosis… while I watched the series after writing the lyrics, I was like ‘yeah! This is it! This is what I’ve been trying to say.”

Guitarist Shon Petrey adds.

“This is our most thrashy song…it’s not really the most melodic tune at all. When writing the song an old school vibe kinda just appeared here and we ran with it.”

Whythre has two other albums out, and fans who have heard the previous efforts will be able to pick up subtle changes such as Chambers taking over on vocals and writing most of the instruments and vocals lines simultaneously with Shon Petrey. They find that it really gives a more cohesive feel to the songs. Rather than tacking on vocals at the end, there’s now a fleshed-out conversation between them and each instrument as the song is written. It’s way more natural, and the next step in the Whythre writing dynamic is to explore this a bit more with drummer Steve and bassist Eric.

The single, along with the album, is recommended for fans of Hypocrisy, Children of Bodom, Havok, and The Black Dahlia Murder.

“The album as a whole is a hell of a twisting and turning trip, which might appeal especially to fans of Hypocrisy and Children of Bodom. You’ll get another taste of the album in its first single, “Scorchbreath“, which features backing vocals by Gabe Tachell (Whythre‘s first vocalist) and Carolina Chambers.” – No Clean Singing

France’s progressive metal act Sunbeam Overdrive was just about to hit the stages for the first time when the Covid-19 pandemic started, thus they had no choice but to pump all their efforts into their debut album “Diama”. The psychedelic record is about elevation, travel, adventure, and energy. It’s meant to lift you up yet make you endure the storm both inside and outside of yourself. Bridging the gaps between prog, alternative, and djent, Sunbeam Overdrive offers something groovy, unique, and original. They explain the journey one can expect to take throughout the album:

“Although not designed as a concept album, “Diama” nevertheless turns out to be crossed implicitly by a coherent line, which appeared to us once the album was finished. This line is that of the crests of the summits, more precisely a notion of ascent, elevation, exterior as interior. It translates into the quasi-cinematic succession of pieces forming an initiatory journey throughout the 10 songs.”

“Diama” is an adventure, solitary, a life journey, its trials and tribulations translated in the form of a wide sound surrounding the listener to try to confront them with themselves, their own experiences, and their own emotions and make them start their own journey. The album was composed in a precise way, with a specific role for each track according to strict architecture and articulation of colours for maximum balance. They start with a very cinematic instrumental opening track, followed by four intense songs, then another very cinematic instrumental interlude, then four intense songs to finish the experience that includes the band covering Eddie Vedder’s cover version of Indio’s song “Hard Sun” (from Into The Wild movie soundtrack (2007)).

Produced, and mixed by Tom Abrigan; mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima with album artwork done by Christophe Dessaigne, the album is a progressive, alternative journey into the mind.

About: Founded around professional musicians in 2019 and hailing from Marseille, southern France, SUNBEAM OVERDRIVE is mixing progressive metal and ’90s alternative rock. Hard at work since day one, the band quickly released its first 3-track EP and performed their very first show at the famous German Euroblast Festival in October 2019. Sunbeam Overdrive was about to hit the stages when the Covid-19 pandemic started… In turn, and after a few line-up movements, they started producing their first full-length album “Diama”, to be released worldwide in 2023.

“Out Of Plato’s Cave – One of Six cool new prog tracks you need to hear this week (March 16, 2023)” – Prog Mag

“Bang this album into your vehicle’s sound system or blast it through your headphones, as you rock out to ‘Diama’ by Sunbeam Overdrive. It is THE soundtrack for your journey of solitary existence!” – Metal-Rules

“As far as the songs go, I love the whole album, but ‘Diama’ was amazing. ‘Slave To The Void’, ‘Crimson Stains’, ‘Deaf And Blind’, and ‘Out Of Plato’s Cave’ were all great. There’s a cover of ‘Hard Sun’ from Canadian singer/songwriter Gordon Peterson as well. They’re doing a version closer to the Pearl Jam version, but either way they do a great job with it. Overall, I have to give this one a 9 out of 10 “Flaming Fists” due to its creativity, musicianship, production and overall song-writing. It’s one of the most diverse and heavy albums I’ve heard lately, it deserves a much bigger audience.” – Rock You Radio

“Soon, on •• Tentacles Industries •• , the release of the new album by French quartet Sunbeam Overdrive. It’s called Diama and Crimson Stains is the new single to entice you for the rest of the album soon to come. Scream, djent, progressive, alternative metal and all sorts of core elements come at you from all sides. Circling around you like a riff tornado, this single is but one of the many tracks that hurl you through space and time, and the storm both inside and out of you. It fits perfectly with the concept that seems to be surrounding the album…” – Stoner Hive

“Standing out from the progressive metal pack with their interesting touches of 90’s alt-rock, Sunbeam Overdrive tickle the senses with their wandering intro of Ascending and the choppy, raw, and animated title track. Before they really lean into the 90’s alt-rock soundscape with Slave to the Void. Where sections of heavy groove come crashing down on the head. Followed then by the anthemic and manic energy of Crimson Stains, one of the album’s more intense moments as Sunbeam Overdrive go quite hard and heavy here…. Though if you’re after something with a more serrated edge, Out of Plato’s Cave will cause some damage. Sunbeam sounding both furiously heavy and grandiose in equal measures. Another highlight of the record simply because of the hectic pacing.” – Games, Brrraaains & Head-Banging Life

“Welcoming us in an oriental atmosphere (which can also evoke the last Hypno5e for once), Diama really starts with the title track, pulsed and muscular, it takes us without hesitation into the rich universe of the Marseilles managing to stall us unstoppable Devin Townsend- inspired vocal melodies .” – Eklektik-Rock

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 11, 2023

Unleash Your Rage With CIRCA ARCANA’s New Video “Switchblades and Fistfights” Off Forthcoming EP “F.U.C.K.Y.O.U.”

American four-piece metalcore act, Circa Arcana, from El Paso, Texas brings forth a mixture of melodic aggressive vocals, bouncy breakdowns, and hard-hitting riffs. They released their first single “Esoteric” in 2021 and an EP “Bridget Vīgintī” in 2022. This year they are following it up with “F.U.C.K.Y.O.U.”, which they declare is the most unforgiving, aggressive, and meanest recording of the year. They have a new video out for the single “Switchblades and Fistfights” a high-octane song that will get your blood pumping. Vocalist Kevin Cangas comments on the rowdy track:

“It’s straight up a fighting song. This song was made for people to hit each other too, the perfect song to be in the mosh pit for. I feel like our music still has, from the first album to this one, some cool creepy sounds that happen which stems from our love for horror. I’m a huge Twilight Zone fan, always have been, and I’ve always been able to do that voice. We were trying to figure out the intro for the album and we were like fuck it, let’s do it like a Twilight Zone intro. And it was funny, everyone thought it was good but I said nah, put a rattlesnake rattle right there and I did the voice on top of it and it prepares you to get your feelings hurt by this EP. I fucking love it.”

According to the band, the first EP was very emo, more of a heartfelt fan-to-fan moment, and with this new record, after touring and seeing how shitty people are, they wrote this one in a dark place. Music runs in their veins., and they bring a mixture of melodic, aggressive vocals, and hard-hitting riffs.

The release date for the EP “F.U.C.K.Y.O.U.” is yet to be announced, but in the meantime, fans can get their adrenaline fix with the single “Switchblades and Fistfights”, which is recommended for fans of Wage War, We Came As Romans and Attila.

“this EP swept me up in a wave of nostalgic feelings with its mixture of heavy guitar riffs, melodic choruses, crushing vocals, and the occasional somber and more emotional moments. The tracks on this EP showcase everything that got me into this style of music” – Mike Leighton, Metal Epidemic (EP Review)

“Since 2021, Circa Arcana has been working the grind: they opened up for Limp Bizkit at Rebel Rock & went back to perform in Florida this year, April 23rd, to perform at the Earthday Birthday 2022 festival. That was the same festival that groups such as Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Black Veil Brides, Ice Nine Kills & Jelly Roll performed.” – Daniel Paulus, KLAQ

“Needless to say, Circa Arcana hit all the right notes here, so if you’re looking for something familiar yet fresh, this might be the one for you.” – New Fury Media

“Circa Arcana’s debut EP was released on February 18 for the world to hear. With a cacophony of breakdowns juxtaposed with infectious choruses that are easy to sing along to, the EP is a fast-paced rollercoaster to the face with the songs flowing together and showing a strong diversity in their music styles.” – HEAVY Magazine

“Circa Arcana presents a solid first effort and is recommended for fans of Wage War, Like Moths To Flames and We Came As Romans.” Keith Clement, – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“a nice melding of the emo and hardcore styles. The 5 song EP shows Circa Arcana performing at the top of their abilities. Bridget Viginti is a nice showcase of some hardcore influenced tracks that are given an injection of melody… There are sing-along moments to be found here and they blend in nicely. There is catchiness and it leads to memorability.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“A short and sweet explosion of American Metalcore, ranging from personal struggles with addiction and personal demons to stories of occult legends and disassociated dreams.” – The Headbanging Moose

“Drawing very much on the spirit of metalcore pioneers such as Killswitch and 36 Crazyfists, while also strongly referencing latter day proponents such as BMTH and We Came As Romans, Circa Arcana could well prove to be one of those bands that make you re-evaluate your assessment of what you believed to be a dying sub-genre by bringing a whole new level of excitement and re-invigoration to it. Fuck, they even throw anthemic power punk into the eclectic recipe, with obtuse sidebar of ‘Luna’.” – Uber Rock
