Montreal, QC – July 13, 2023

Enter The Dark World Of DEAD FIELDS of WOOLWICH With Their Video “I’ve Made It To Hell” Off Self-Titled Debut Album

Dead Fields Of Woolwich has its beginnings going back to the autumn of 2020 in North Bay, Ontario, Canada when multi-instrumentalist Kye Bell (Withing Nostalgia, Falamh) created a gloomy, doom metal project focused on dreary lyrics and a gothic-laden sound. Now, the band, though still considered a solo project at heart, has grown from an individual entity to a dark twosome with the addition of Alyssa Broere for session vocals and the upcoming release of the self-titled debut album. Thus, far they have released two videos and are following them up with “I’ve Made It To Hell”, which Bell comments on:

“I chose this one to showcase as the single for the album because it has a great dirgy riff until it hits a catchy chorus. Probably more simple than other songs but packs a great punch with its contrasting riffs of heavy and catchy especially as the last chorus comes around. This one deals with the idea of transitioning to the afterlife and being stuck there. I took the phrase “let me know when you’ve made it there safe” and applied it to the afterlife.”

Dead Fields Of Woolwich hopes that their initial offering will be met with praise and excitement. According to Bell, it was very fulfilling to create an album that is truly his own and he hopes there is a positive reception to the gothic elements fused with the heavy doom. His love of gothic culture is interwoven in all of his songs to deliver a feeling of something haunting and heavy.

“I’ve Made It To Hell” is faster than the other six tracks on the album and is an excellent introduction to the dark and at times, bleak record. Its themes focus on acceptance of death and personal struggles from within and also touch on dark romanticism and twisted love all while trudging along with heaviness and memorable hooks.

Melodic and melancholic, it is recommended for fans of Paradise Lost, Type O Negative, and Katatonia.

The self-titled album is due out on July 28th, 2023, and is available for pre-order on Deadfieldsofwoolwich.bandcamp.com.

EPK – Necronomicon Ex Mortis – Silver Bullet (2023)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

For fans of Arsis, The Black Dahlia Murder, Racer X, Obscura, Megadeth

“We think fans will notice the wide array of influences on this EP. They weren’t pulled from other projects or other albums, so that expectation was created going into the process. Variety is the spice of life, kids. We want you to sleep with the lights on. These tracks were written specifically for this EP. We have roughly 69 more fully written songs ready to go that are both terrifying and titillating. We feel like we have evolved in the way we chose our guitar tones this time. We went for a unified sound with a single amp and 1 guitar but ended up blending in a low-gain amp that did a lot to fill the tone out. We also experimented with some clean/acoustic stuff this time that we feel came out really good.” – Guitarist – Michael Nystrom Bala – Necronomicon Ex Mortis

“From start to finish, it really is a head-spinner and a heart-pounder, and some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on (though you might need to strip down and dry off after the EP is done with you.). If it wasn’t clear already, it’s damned clear after Silver Bullet that Necronomicon Ex Mortis is “a band to watch”. And if these peoples really do have 69 more songs fully written, bring ’em on!” – No Clean Singing

“Necronomicon Ex Mortis Mix Shredding Death Metal and Horror On Silver Bullet… If I were to inform you of a band out there describing themselves as a ‘combination of ‘80s shred with ‘90s riffs all wrapped up in a cheesy B-horror movie’ chances are you’d excitedly inquire as to who this band is, after which I could start taking over/under bets on how quickly said horror-metal nerd collective would become one of your new favourites.” – Decibel Magazine

“Sit back and marvel at the eccentric sound of Necronomicon Ex Mortis as they take us on a wild, but brief journey of thrilling heaviness. Starting with a track about getting ripped apart by a giant undead ape called Crypt of the Gorilla God. It’s a thrashy and speedy opener that features some absolutely screaming guitar solos. An immediate example of the lovable nature of this EP and band. 8.5/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“A tale of primordial monsters living in the dark waters, “The Swamp” finds Necronomicon Ex Mortis at their storytelling finest, evolving a tale in classical fashion while having some moments in the guitar work that wouldn’t be out of place if they were written by Scott Carstairs for a Fallujah record. Somehow they have taken the bare bones that surround them and carved them intro intricate designs that leap between Metal sub-genres with death defying consummate ease. There is so much depth and texture than you’d usually expect to find in these songs… You have to wonder just how long it will be before these Gentlemen find themselves playing the Summer Slaughter Tour because that’s exactly where they should be [8.5/10]” – Metal Noise

“Necronomicon Ex Mortis combines elements of classic death metal, 80s shred worship, and gory lyrics about B-horror movies. This EP starts with Crypt of the Gorilla God, a track about getting ripped apart by a giant undead ape. It’s a thrashy and speedy opener that features some absolutely screaming guitar solos. Silver Bullet is raw but this band is worth keeping an eye on.” – WRIV 90.1F< (Burlington, VT)

“Necronomicon Ex Mortis have shown with Silver Bullet that they want to hit hard very quickly. The pieces are striking and make you want to discover more very quickly! We hope that the European public will respond to the call of the Americans and their desire to immerse us in horror stories worthy of the 80s. We wish them the best and we encourage you to dive into their universe!” – Sounding Shivers

“As EP’s it’s pitched just right in that it comes in and goes straight for the throat and doesn’t overstay its welcome. What will be interesting is to see what a full-length album will be like; can they sustain this level of quality for say ten songs? I’ll have to seek out their first release and compare, but for now this will satisfy those who love both death metal and 80’s horror. 7/10” – Musipedia of Metal

“Thrashy death metal with catchy groove” – The Mosh Pit 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)

“The fusion of Death Metal and shred is intriguing” – Amplified Magazin

“They make a death metal with classical influences and are obsessed with 80s horror films, a passion that is always to be shared.” – Metal Skunk

“if you want to hear guitar players that have spent time really learning their instruments and pouring their blood, sweat and tears into giving people metal that shows attention to detail, quality and songwriting, then you might be pleased by this band.” – Metal Bulletin

“You might suspect we’re exaggerating, but we’re really not. The four songs on the EP are undeniably sinister and ferocious, but the dominant impression of the music is that it’s exhilarating and exultant, the work of people who decided to put their formidable talents to the test, while having a shitload of fun doing that. When you listen it will make sense to hear that the EP comes recommended for fans of Black Dahlia Murder, Obscura, Arsis, Racer X, and Megadeth.” – No Clean Singing

“Inspired by Swedish Death Metal “Celestial Tomb” lays down the blast beats while having an interesting melodic lead that flies into a monstrous extended face melting solo of the highest order, confirming if there was any doubt that these musicians have the capability to step on stages with World Superpower level bands and hold their own. If it wasn’t for their love of old school works, you could easily see them going down the more technical road of an Archspire or Inferi, the clues to that murder mystery are all wrapped up within this whirlwind of an opener for all to witness.” – Metal Noise

“You can’t go wrong with the combination of death metal and horror, it’s a blend that goes together as obviously as blood and guts. With so much influence on offer, newcomers NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS have taken the idea and ran like a madman with it.” – Distorted Sound Mag

“the EP feels solid. It has remarkable melodies, a good sound and a cool cover.” – Metal Bite

“Epic/symphonic black metal, good technical and proggy stuff too.” – WORT FM 89.9FM (Madison, WI)

“They are young, their desire is noticeable and they are also capable of entertaining… “Earth Cancer” radically changes the record and becomes something more classic, sounding more like things like CANNIBAL CORPSE or CANCER, but maintaining the technique of the former. I am very surprised by the work of both guitarists, since they are capable of combining good riffs with a certain dose of brutality without leaving an unintelligible hodgepodge.” – Necromance Magazine

==============================================================

The EP as a whole:
Do you like Shred and B horror movies? This has Shred and B horror movies. We are aiming to do one thing and do it well.

Track by Track explained:

1. Crypt of the Gorilla God: A song about getting ripped apart by a giant undead ape. Musically, the song is thrashy, takes a number of interesting turns, and has a huge helping of guitar solos.

2. The Swamp: More or less Michael’s attempt to do a song that is 100% a tribute to Swedish death metal. At The Gates and In Flames were the inspiration here. The song is about fish people because that seemed appropriate.

3. Cycle of the Werewolf: An intro track that only exists because the rest of the band told Michael it should be an intro track and not part of the main song. Manuel wrote it and it is named after a Steven King story.

4. Silver Bullet: A song about a werewolf move that has Gary Busey. Michael’s wife saw that movie and hated it so he thought it would be funny to write a song based on it.

==============================================================

Fun Facts – Story Angles:
1. Michael and Manuel got obliterated on Tiki drinks the day we finished recording and got lost in Pasadena after eating extreme amounts of Tommy’s Burgers at 3:00 in the morning.

2. No one in the band will actually watch horror movies with Michael (Manuel watched Evil Dead with him once).

3. We keep bringing our engineer maple bars and he gets angrier every time.

4. We ended up using a single guitar on the entire EP.

5. Manuel bought an Earthquaker Plumes pedal the day before recording and it ended up being used on nearly every guitar track and the bass track as well.

Necronomicon Ex Mortis was formed by Michael Nystrom Bala out of a desire to combine elements of classic death metal, the 80s shred worship, and gory lyrics about B-horror movies. After writing far too many songs, Michael contacted guitarist Manuel Barbara, who joined the band because he had “nothing better to do.” Shortly after, bassist Yusuf Rashid joined the band so he could escape the jazz world and play music people would listen to outside of an elevator. The three amigos then enlisted fellow Berklee Bros Craig Schmuhl and Joey Ferretti, on vocals and drums respectively. Apparently, they didn’t have much better to do, either.

After polishing up the first 4 songs, Michael, Manuel, and Yusuf recorded guitars and bass with Charlie Waymire of Ultimate Studios in Los Angeles, California. Shortly after the strings were finished, Craig recorded vocals in his studio in Illinois. The debut EP “Necronomicon Ex Mortis” was released on March 31st, 2023.

Currently, the lads are gearing up to release a follow-up EP “Silver Bullet”. More music will always promise over-the-top guitar playing, a comfortable blending of old-school metal and modern techniques, and a touch of campy, dark humor. They hope to make you sleep with the lights on!

New EP “Silver Bullet” Out August 2023

Chicago’s Necronomicon Ex Mortis was formed by Michael Nystrom Bala out of a desire to combine elements of classic death metal, 80s shred worship, and gory lyrics about B-horror movies. After writing far too many songs, Michael contacted guitarist Manuel Barbara, who joined the band because he had “nothing better to do”. Shortly after, bassist Yusuf Rashid joined the band so he could escape the jazz world and play music people would listen to outside of an elevator. The three amigos then enlisted fellow Berklee Bros Craig Schmuhl and Joey Ferretti, on vocals and drums respectively. Apparently, they didn’t have much better to do, either. Now the intrepid quintet is releasing their second EP “Silver Bullet” to follow their self-titled that was released at the beginning of 2023. They hope these new blends of shred and horror will keep you up at night. They share their thoughts on the first single “Crypt of The Gorilla God”:

“This is a song about getting ripped apart by a giant undead ape. Musically, the song is thrashy, takes a number of interesting turns, and has a huge helping of guitar solos. We chose this as our single because it’s a lead pipe to a brick wall, possibly with your face in between.”

Fully embracing the saying “variety is the spice of life”, fans will notice the wide array of influences on this EP. Necronomicon Ex Mortis is not just pulling from the same band or the same style of metal, but keeping it dynamic with shredding riffs, guttural vocals, and dashes of acoustic experimentation. The band aspires to bring back the celebration of the twin guitar attack that bands like Iron Maiden and Racer X had. There’s a lot of great guitar playing out there right now, but to them, it lacks that celebratory playing that a lot of bands of the 80s did.

This upcoming release will keep listeners on their toes, especially those who enjoy B-Movies, campy horror, Arsis, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Racer X.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 12, 2023

Rockshots Records – “The Story Goes On” w/ EUNOMIA’s New Single Off New Album “The Chronicles of Eunomia Part 2” Out Sept 2023

Norwegian adventure power metallers EUNOMIA are returning in 2023 with their sophomore full-length “The Chronicles of Eunomia Part II” for release on Rockshots Records this coming September.

Presenting epic, bombastic, fast, powerful fantasy through their compositions, this second record from Eunomia is a group effort, as the first full-length was completely written by band founder, vocalist, and keyboardist Peter Danielsen. Joined by his brother Marius Danielsen (Legend of Valley Doom), bassist Alexander Ormseth, guitarist Magnar Winther Skorgenes and drummer Alessandro Kelvin (Perc3ption), the tracks on this new offering are more powerful and stronger than before with much more variety than their first effort.

“The Chronicles of Eunomia Part II” also features guests Alessandro Conti (Twilight Force), Arnaud Ménard (Alkemyst), Jimmy Hedlund (Falconer), Matt Krais (ShadowStrike), Ty Christian (Lords of The Trident), Mikael Dahl (Crystal Eyes), Olaf Hayer (Luca Turilli’s band, Dionysus), and Anders Sköld (Veonity). Overall this second full-length has everything from power and symphonic metal elements to contagious choruses, fast double bass drums, and even slow epic songs that fit the storytelling perfectly.

“Everyone in the band has helped shape the new album. We worked hard to get this album the way it sounds. Re-written parts on many songs to make them as perfect as we could. I think the fans will hear that the band has evolved and become better, tighter, and more creative than on the first album. Better melodies, better songwriting, and even more epic than ever. We have leveled up significantly on this album. I believe this album is 10x better than the first one and I think the choruses will be stuck in the minds of fans and I hope they press the replay button many times after listening to it for the first time.” adds Peter Danielsen.

Marius Danielsen also adds:

“As the mixing and mastering engineer for this album, I must say it has been quite a journey. My brother and I have worked closely together on this album for about two years. Learning new mixing tricks and carefully carving out space for every single instrument in a dense mix consisting of 250 tracks or so per song has been a cool process to be part of. I think we managed to create an epic-sounding Power Metal album full of glorious melodies and memorable hooks.”

Today, Eunomia presents their first musical quest entitled “The Story Goes On”.

“Let’s explode into our first single! This is the fastest song I have ever written, I have always wanted to make a song that could fit into a Dragonforce album. Ivan Giannini from Derdian/Vision Divine and Arnaud Ménard from Alkemyst sings their hearts out in this one. Fast riffs, fast and melodic guitar solo from the one and only Jimmy Hedlund from Falconer, a lot of fast epic drums, and an epic chorus. This song is the last song on the album, but I felt it needed to be shown first because I love this song so much.” comments Peter Danielsen.

Watch and listen to “The Story Goes On” via its lyric video at https://youtu.be/2iKkb0Sqdww

Digital – https://bfan.link/the-story-goes-on

Not slowing down, the band is already in the works for writing “The Chronicles of Eunomia Part 3” and looks forward to performing live.

“I can’t wait to bring back Eunomia as a live band again now that most of us live in the same city again. We will try to tell the story of Eunomia with great energy, perfect performances, amazing guest artists, and awesome setlists.”

Recommended for fans of Rhapsody Of Fire, Twilight Force, Dragonforce, Freedom Call, and Hammerfall, “The Chronicles of Eunomia Part II” is due out on September 15, 2023.

HOOKER SPIT Unleash Death Metal Groove “The Huntsmen”

Canadian Tour Dates w/ Raising The Ruins, Augurium + Loud As Hell Fest, Grover Fest

Debut Album “Krötch Splitter” Out July 2023

Set to unleash their debut album “Krötch Splitter”, Red Deer, AB’s Hooker Spit have another single to drop before the full-length officially releases on July 28th. Having already shared two previous singles “Call of The Void”, and “White Lighter”, the band is ready to introduce fans to another grooved-infused thrasy death metal track entitled “The Huntsmen”. The band explains it further.

“We really wanted to write a song with a clean intro and it evolved into an upbeat and melodic death metal song. The song discusses the struggle of life and having the strength to move through to reach the truest expression of self. Overall it’s about living your best life, it’s about pushing through adversity and accepting that you will lose people along the way. We really wanted to write an epic song that had a wicked clean intro while taking you on a journey through some fantastic harmonies, solos, and breakdowns.”

Listen to “The Huntsmen” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Filled with heavy chunky riffs, guttural vocals, and destructive drum grooves, Hooker Spit have developed a sonic quality and episodic visual concept that is so unique to them, it can be immediately recognized as their own. Their forthcoming seven-track album “Krötch Splitter” is an appetizing sampler of what the band is all about, and will attract fans across the death metal spectrum from the classics to the modern.

Hooker Spit cites that they are still discovering our sound but feel that they are gravitating towards something they are already very happy with. They try to infuse groove into death metal while also presenting something with a little bit of thrash. The sound will continue to evolve over time as all bands do, and aim to stay consistent in creating something unique to them.

In a collaborative effort, guitarist Vlad Gligor creates the core riffs of the songs. After that, the initial rough draft is formed into what will be the final version of the music, adding harmonies, melodies, rhythmic bass lines, and slamming drums. Finally, vocalist Dan White creates a vocal melody and lyrical content.

Groovy and interesting, Hooker Spit puts a creative spin on the expected death metal formula. Their music is recommended for fans of Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Blood Bath.

“Krötch Splitter” is due out July 28th, 2023, and available for album pre-order at https://hookerspitofficial.bandcamp.com.

Their latest album “Illusions” has gotten praise from across the metal community, My Global Mind has stated “Borealis have proven themselves to be one of the most consistent band’s when it comes to producing excellent dark power/prog metal, and this album is no exception, standing as possibly their best work to date. Longtime fans should be very pleased with this album, and newcomers are highly recommended to start with this album.” Other bands joining the lineup will be Edmonton’s Tyler Dory Trio, Calgary’s Osyron and much more to be later announced. 0 Rockshots Records – A Pirates Life It Will Be! CALICO JACK’s New Video “Marauder”; New Album “Isla de la Muerte” Out Now!

Rockshots Records – A Pirates Life It Will Be! CALICO JACK’s New Video “Marauder”

New Album “Isla de la Muerte” Out Now!

Pirate metallers Calico Jack recently unleashed their treasure chest of riches with the sophomore album “Isla de la Muerte” on June 30th via Rockshots Records. For this full-length, the band kept the style of their debut album but improved every aspect of their music. “Isla de la Muerte” is much more aggressive, the songs are heavier, more dynamic, and more powerful than past ones. The fiddle tunes on the release are more epic and refined, and there’s no shortage of some of Calico Jack‘s trademarks such as the Caribbean sounds in ‘Antigua’. The band also added important elements such as a track of pure classic heavy metal Running Wild-style (‘Bad Fortune’) and a journey through the eastern sounds of the Indian Ocean in the final suite ‘Sandokan’.

Today, the band presents one of its gems, “Marauder” with a new music video. The track is an ode to the life of the looter, who thrives only by plundering the property of others.

“To be a pirate is not just to live free and have fun in a tavern, but one must be prepared to commit the most abject crimes to survive, and if that meant amassing wealth and power, many marauders of the sea were just fine with that. ‘Marauder’ is a song written to be engaging and fun, with simple, groovy guitar riffs and Korpiklaani-esque violin melodies designed to unleash nonstop pogoing and headbanging. The lyrics, by contrast, tell of the heinous and cruel deeds of a sea marauder who has no mercy for anyone who stands before him and aims to plunder as much wealth as possible without qualms or remorse for his deeds. The accompanying video is an actual comic book adventure drawn by cartoonist Nico Tamburo, famous for publishing various works with a pirate setting. In the video, a pirate crew made up of the band members storm a Caribbean port and defeat naval officers after a savage swordfight, toasting the mountain of gold accumulated at the end of the song.” adds the band.

Watch and listen to “Marauder” – https://youtu.be/-xRnQLxESNA

Named after the nickname for Captain John Rackham, the English pirate captain who operated in the Bahamas and in Cuba during the early 18th century, Calico Jack was founded in 2011 by the brothers Toto (rhythm guitar) and Caps (drums) with the aim of merging legendary 80s heavy metal with modern Scandinavian folk metal, wrapping everything in a maritime atmosphere, inspired by folk songs and sea shanties of the Anglo-Saxon tradition. They make sure they present a flashback to those times with stage scenery and costumes.

“If you play pirate metal, you can’t help but fill the stage with bandanas, chests, skulls, cutlasses, and pistols. We are arranging to bring real parrots and cannonballs on stage, but we are meeting some resistance from animal welfare and pacifist associations… Aesthetics aside, our live shows are notorious for creating absolute chaos above and below the stage, so it is not advisable to attend one of our concerts if you are looking for meditative and intellectual listening. We also hold the record of never having played sober since the beginning of our career, and we offer unlimited drinks to any fan who asks!” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Equilibrium, Moonsorrow, and Running Wild, “Isla de la Muerte” was released on June 30, 2023 and is available at https://bit.ly/IslaDeLaMuerteCD

‘Unique but still stick to their theme well enough to remain firmly within the confines of Pirate movie soundtracks and the sorts of songs you would hear sung in port taverns.’ – Folk-metal.nl

‘Calico Jack’s ship is finally ready to set sail in the world of pirate metal, and given the prowess of the crew, it won’t struggle much to conquer land and booty, you can be sure of that…for Blackbeard’s eyepatch!’ – Mr. Folk

‘Let the sails be unfurled, let the flags be hoisted, it’s time to set sail into the open sea in search of treasure and ships to plunder and to other ports to pillage. Calico Jack: dreaded pirates of folk metal.’ – Metalforce

2023 follows AMF‘s most successful event to date in 2022, which saw the festival’s highest attendance on record along with it marking its return after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. The 2023 edition promises to be an eclectic earth-shaking lineup with bands from across Canada and beyond.

Since 2009 (minus pause years 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic), West Metal Entertainment and Armstrong Metalfest have not only fostered the talent of hundreds of local bands, but have imported well-known, international acts to the quiet, little Canadian town of Armstrong, British Columbia.

Each year up to 700 metalheads from Canada and the USA descend into the picturesque Okanagan Valley and under the blistering sun they spend three days camping, taking in as much metal over two days, participating in wrestling events, scavenger hunts, and catching up with their metal family.

The festival has seen such renowned headliners as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, Nekrogoblikon, Origin, Rivers of Nihil, and Beyond Creation as well as emerging artists from across North America. At the end of the revelry, the festival disappears without a trace, leaving the landscape as pristine as it has always been.

West Metal Entertainment is a non-profit society that not only puts on Armstrong Metal Festival every year in Armstrong, B.C., but gives bands opportunities to play different venues throughout the region including all-ages shows, to encourage musical passion in kids as well as adults.

Israeli Prog NEOLIA Shares The Bass Grooves w/ New Playthrough “Carried Away” Off S/T Debut

Album Mastered by Howie Weinberg (Metallica, Pantera, Nirvana)

L-R: Neolia Current Line Up – Tomer Mash (Bass), Yair Ben Shalom (Drums), Ben Reiss (Vocals), Guy Greenberg (Guitar), Inbar Davish (Guitar)

Israel’s Neolia released their debut self-titled album this past May. The album is an experimental, progressive slab of metal that fans have been flocking to local shows for. From the record’s haunting melodies to its complex rhythms, every aspect of this full-length has been crafted with care and precision.

Today, the band shares their latest playthrough from bassist Tomer Mash for the track “Carried Away”. The music starts gently and gradually. A fragile moment yet intense drops with a drum groove on the ride symbols paired with a dark and busy bass line that is balanced by a tender choir section and guitars that contrast each other. Gradually the music intensifies and gets even darker reflecting an emotional spiral that reaches a certain climax after the second verse. After the last chorus, the song ends with vigorous unison of guitar and Synth layers that drop.

“Carried Away is dark yet restless. It has a dynamic wide range from the most tender guitars to the sharpest and most dissonant tones. The vocals in the song incorporate a variety of vocal techniques that keep the listener on his toes. ‘Carried away’ takes you on the journey inside the mind of a child that is hallucinating scary images.” adds Mash.

Watch the playthrough for “Carried Away” via its premiere on BassMusicianMagazine HERE.

Musically, Neolia‘s self-titled album is a reflection of years of soaking up music of different genres from rock to pop to world music and whatnot. It’s a fusion of bits upon bits of pieces absorbed and processed and then spat out from a personal perspective. In its musical aspect, it’s rock and metal based, but with a twist of African, Latin, Jazz, and ambient that reaches the spectrum of high and low, tender, extreme, and crazy.

Recommended for fans of Protest The Hero, Coheed and Cambria, The Human Abstract, and Tool, Neolia‘s self-titled album was released on May 5th, 2023, and is available on https://neolia.bandcamp.com/album/neolia, Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3nsmoaf

“as the chaotic screams of Dance of Violence and the ever-contorting Rise and Fall attest, the rawness of their emotions often turns that into a positive. The slow-burning Anchors builds on moody tension, jarring textures melt into a soundscape that, across seven minutes, throws in heavy bursts, tender lulls and spiky rhythms. It’s a wildly diverse ride… Their ambition or vision can’t be faulted.” – Prog Mag

“This band is going to be huge. You know how Tool and the Mars Volta developed into their own sound and how they have a legion of devoted fans? That’s what Israel’s Neolia is about to do with this self titled debut album.” – Transcending the Mundane

“Karma”, (the video) accompanied by a beautiful shot somewhere in the deserts of Israel, has that fantastic balance of aggression and melody that I love about alternative metal. At its more frenetic moments, like the excellent transitions from the heavier moments near the end of the track and the more melodic chorus, it reminds me of The Mars Volta, and that is one big compliment. Elsewhere, Yerushalmi’s guest vocals are expertly utilized to balance the rawer, more harried vocals of the band’s own singer, Ben Reiss. Together, they present the major melodic force on the track, while the instruments deliver well written, complex, and undeniable groove. This mix is exactly what alternative metal is so good for, hitting on both the emotional and the visceral level of enjoyment. The track ends up being both interesting to dissect and take apart but also something you can move and sing to. If the band’s self-titled is as good as this, and the other tracks released so far seem to indicate that that is indeed the case, then we’re in for a treat. Make sure you head on over to the band’s Bandcamp to pre-order it; I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!” – Heavy Blog Is Heavy
