UK’s FOETAL JUICE “Legion of the Grotesque” Is A Cataclysmic Symphony Of Brutality

Renowned in the UK underground, the indomitable talents of Derek Carley (Burial, Wolfbastard), Ryan Whittaker, Rob Harris (Necronautical) and Lewis Bridges (ex-Ond) form Foetal Juice, a band that delivers a seething, virtuosic, and violent audial assault. Their latest album “Grotesque” is more gruesome than ever with savage sound and remorseless lyrics, it will unleash a cataclysmic symphony of brutality that will leave the faint-hearted in tatters. Their single “Legion of the Grotesque” delves into the macabre world of those who overuse cosmetic surgery, turning themselves into grotesque monstrosities. A disfigured tale of botched Botox and vanity gone horribly wrong is explained further by the band:

“This song was inspired by our love of Angel Corpse. Our guitarist wrote a riff that we loved so we thought “Why does it need to move to the next section every 4 bars?” So, we stay on the same riff for longer than we normally would with other elements of the song changing around it. Again, it’s something new that we have tried for this album and for me at least, it works really well. We’ve thought it needed breaking up with something less blast-beaty in the middle as it has a lot of constant blasting in this one.”

Despite the stench of death surrounding Foetal Juice, their technical prowess should not be overlooked. This album is a sonic defecation that transcends the boundaries of the grotesque, creating a maelstrom of sound that will engulf and consume your senses.

Formed with a simple goal of bridging the gap between grind and death metal their music is a relentless, violent, and catchy brand of death metal that leaves no room for apologies. It’s unapologetic sonic devastation, and it’s what Foetal Juice does best. They are recommended for those with a strong stomach and fans of Vomitory, Napalm Death, and Terrorizer.

“it is rare for a genre this ingrained to be played straight with such eagerness and unrelenting energy, and that alone puts Foetal Juice ahead of the pack.” – 4/5 – Angry Metal Guy

“Gluttony shows us FOETAL JUICE at their fastest, heaviest and most aggressive. They’ve taken the fire and surging adrenaline of their live shows and have harnessed that power and it’s been manifested into their sophomore record. Full of grit and gristle that will not be for everybody, but if you fancy some gloriously grotesque death metal, look no further and indulge yourself in a bit of filth.” 9/10 – Distorted Sound Mag

“When the band says that they are at the top of their game and the album is death metal from the top tier, more capable of taking on the biggest names in the genre – and winning, it not just shallow brag. It’s completely true.” – The Razors Edge

“The punishment for gluttony is to be forced fed rats, snakes and toads. Foetal Juice make you swallow something far more repulsive.” – Moshville Times

“Dragging death metal kicking and screaming back to its putrid past (i.e. the late 80’s / early 90’s), the deviants in Manchester’s Foetal Juice deliver nothing but the finest old-school onslaught on their second album, Gluttony. Gorging on the very life-force of death metal’s founding fathers means that Foetal Juice share an undeniable kinship with the likes of Cannibal Corpse (think Bloodthirst era) and Master (circa On the Seventh Day god Created …Master) as they steadfastly go about their barbaric business. That is to say that Foetal Juice take the tastiest chunks of these bands and re-form them into a meaty platter of modern sounding death metal with an old-school twist.” – Worship Metal

Only a few days left for bands interested in applying to Western Canada’s largest mountain mosh pit Armstrong MetalFest for their 2024 lineup.

Submissions End October 16th at 11:59pm PST.

Bands can apply for the 2024 lineup at the following link: https://armstrongmetalfest.ca

Armstrong MetalFest 14th annual gathering of metalheads will be held in BC’s Okanagan on July 12th and 13th, 2024.

“It’s one of the premier festivals of its kind in Canada, showcasing the biggest names in local, national and international heavy metal music.” – Vancouver Sun

The 2023 edition of Armstrong MetalFest hosted Hassen Arena in Armstrong, BC once again broke attendance records with its eclectic earth-shaking lineup that featured headliners LA thrashers WARBRINGER, San Francisco tech-death giants FALLUJAH, festival alumni Spokane, WA’s ENTERPRISE EARTH, and Los Angeles’ THE ZENITH PASSAGE, along with Denver’s H.P. Lovecraft extreme metallers VALE OF PNATH, and Edmonton’s Juno award-winning heavy metal champions STRIKER among the 28 bands performing on the two-day extreme music festival.

Since 2009 (minus pause years 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic), West Metal Entertainment and Armstrong Metalfest have not only fostered the talent of hundreds of local bands, but have imported well-known, international acts to the quiet, little Canadian town of Armstrong, British Columbia.

Each year hundreds of metalheads from Canada and the USA descend into the picturesque Okanagan Valley and under the blistering sun, they spend three days camping, taking in as much metal over two days, participating in wrestling events, scavenger hunts, and catching up with their metal family.

The festival has seen such renowned headliners as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, Nekrogoblikon, Origin, Rivers of Nihil, and Beyond Creation as well as emerging artists from across North America. At the end of the revelry, the festival disappears without a trace, leaving the landscape as pristine as it has always been.

West Metal Entertainment is a non-profit society that not only puts on the Armstrong Metal Festival every year in Armstrong, B.C., it gives bands opportunities to play at different venues throughout the region including all-ages shows, to encourage musical passion in kids as well as adults.

Nova Scotia’s HUMAN MISSILE CRISIS Unleashes Powerful Memorial Single “Blackwater”

New Album “Liquor Store Stories” Out Now!

L-R – DJ Vaters – Guitar/Vocals, Matthew MacIsaac – Drums, Justin Boutilier – Bass

Human Missile Crisis, the punk-infused garage-rock trio hailing from Dartmouth, Canada is pumped to release their debut album “Liquor Store Stories”, a garage rock, post-punk tribute to life, love, making mistakes, and the fallen. Powerful rhythms, aggressive executions, and some weird bits can all be found in this succinct 34-minute EP. The second single is “Blackwater” – a memorial track for a friend of theirs who passed away, which guitarist/vocalist DJ Vaters explains:

“This is one of those songs that just wrote itself and came out of nowhere within about 5 minutes. One day I was speaking to my old friend’s brother, and he reminded me that Charles passed away 5 years ago. Shortly after that conversation I cracked a beer, picked up the guitar and this song basically appeared in front of me. We grew up in Dominion, Nova Scotia, and here on our local beach because; there were coal mining communities all around us – coal dust would wash up on our beaches – this is what “Blackwater” is. Sonically I wanted this song to be powerful and memorable, an anthem to our old friend Charles.”

Watch and listen to “Blackwater” via its lyric video premiere on PunkNews HERE.

“Liquor Store Stories” is not just an album; it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a rollercoaster ride through life’s highs and lows. Human Missile Crisis combines raw energy with introspective lyricism, creating a sound that’s as powerful as it is cathartic.

Recorded at The Sonic Temple by Lil Thomas, with additional tracking by Braden Kamermans of the Halifax-based indie rock band Sleepy Kicks at Uthful Music. The album was mixed by Braden Kamermans and mastered at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon by Brad Boatright. The album art is a photo of Vaters’ cat NUB, which was given an artistic treatment by Amy Crosby. The multifaceted album is a therapeutic journey and is recommended for fans of Queens of the Stone Age, Single Mothers, and Cloud Nothings.

The album “Liquor Store Stories” was released on August 25, 2023, and is available at the following links:

“I had a weird sensation while listening to the massive punch and swagger of “Liquor Store Stories” by Dartmouth, Nova Scotia based Human Missile Crisis. Not only is the title amazing and sounds like an anthology series on Hulu, the crunchy assaulting guitars, the nimble hyper bass lines, atomic drumming and strident vocal scowling aesthetic had me thinking of a 70’s Mod revival rock band instead of a punk outfit, namely, the iconic JAM. Maybe it is the major 7th and miner chords I think I am hearing, maybe it is the vocal countenance that does have a heavier sort of iteration of Weller, and maybe it is the fury of the bass and drums, of everything really. And it also might be the sense of talking about the inner workings of hometowns.

By the way, sonically, I also thought of an amalgam of early punk like the Buzzcocks and more current bangers like Prince Daddy & The Hyena.” -Robb Donker Curtius / American Pancake

“Merging elements of Garage Rock and Post-Punk, they end up delivering an exciting song to the listener, with great melodies and which stands out mainly for its great rhythmic work, with its striking bass line and vocals with great melodies.” -Leandro Vianna / Roadie Metal

“Maybe “Blackwater” from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia based Human Missile Crisis is about wishing those who disappeared from your life well, maybe not. Maybe it is all about the glorious noise, the throttling bass bottom heaviness that kicks you in the gut, maybe not. Maybe it is about finding what you are searching for and not dive deep into the blackness to find it, maybe not. In the end, maybe Human Missile Crisis feels like Black Sabbath, The Dead Kennedys, Coachwhips, Bass Drum of Death atom smashed together into something else entirely, something visceral and impactful.” -Robb Donker Curtius / American Pancake

“”Liquor Store Stories” is a single recently dropped by Nova Scotia-based band, Human Missile Crisis. Boasting an infectious energy equipped with melodic vocal flows and anthemic instrumental work, this is a powerful new tune that delivers a unique blend of styles. Elements of punk, garage rock, indie, and emo are all present here, and the band shines brightly by creatively blending all the influences into one full sound.” -Havoc Underground

“”Too Long” is a melody that will really provoke something powerful and luminous in you with its most violent and rhythmic rhythms, capable of awakening the monster that you keep inside of you, this band will shake you with this crazy song bathed in the best alternative sounds and aggressive sounds of punk fused with the darkness of a more balanced rock.” -End Sessions

“‘Too Long’ by Human Missile Crisis is an energetic, aggressive and dark punk and rock whose instruments provide an auditory explosion in the best of the senses, causing a piece of music full of rhythm to be manufactured. While listening to the song I couldn’t stop moving my head back and forth because of how catchy it is, it’s one of those songs that you fall in love with in a second. I loved the song from start to finish and I hope you do too.” -Javier Alfonso / La Caverna

“The album begins with “Do you Remember”, a song that has a powerful guitar in its intro and remains that way, but from the beginning you say this album is not going to stop, it is going to maintain that hard and aggressive rhythm, although They also have California punk songs like “The Spark”, and of course they also have songs like “Distant Memory”, with a slower rhythm, but with the same strength in the voice. This album really has 9 incredible tracks for those who like garage and punk, and also get into slam.” -Miguel Castillo/ La Caverna

“Opening the record is ‘Do You Remember’, a three-minute romp that must be powered by Jack Daniels because the vocals have that tinge of Lemmy about them. The track ebbs and flows for those 180 seconds but always comes back to the punchy punk-rock vibe that is at the core of Liquor Store Stories.” -Dan Hemming / Hard Beat Magazine

EPK – Mindrazer – A Thing of Nightmares (2023)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“The fans are gonna love it. It’s bold, brutal, and diverse. The pits have already been opening for these songs at the live show, even though nobody knew them. Now that people can go home and get to know these songs for real… no mind is safe from the Mindrazer. Every song offers something different. We took the inverse of the AC/DC approach. We grew up in the playlist era, albums can’t be the same anymore. Every song has to keep the listener on edge and bring something new to the table to keep people from going to something else.” – Nick DeFuria – Lead Vocals and Guitar – Mindrazer

“The Bruce worship is strong but pulled off very well! I like the contrast between the powerful clean vocals and ultra thrash instrumental portion. The bass pops very well and the drums are frantic but on point.” – Cutting Edge Metal (USA)

“Entombed in Time stands out for its old school thrash metal concept accompanied by the fantastic and live sounding performances of Mindrazer.” -Metalhead Community Magazine (Switzerland)

“Good songs, really good guitar, even better vocalist; they’ll go far!” -Mark Wasserman, 3 and 1 Grab Productions, Live Sound: Nick Cannon’s “Wild n’ Out”, Barclay Center, Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, Arco Arena etc.

“It was an insane show! At one point the lead singer who was also playing guitar, steps out in front, puts his arm up, points a finger down and starts moving it in a circle like he’s indicating to the crowd “I want you to make a circle pit now” and you felt the entire mood of the room just change. Everyone got ready and they played this really heavy song. It was so good!” -WRCU-FM Radio Into the Pit

About The Album Artwork:

Khowyrd, the Mindrazer extracting the brain of his unsuspecting victim in front of an interdimensional portal.

About The Album (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

Mindrazer’s debut full-length outing A Thing of Nightmares is a showcase of range. The New Jersey thrashers demonstrate immediately that they aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of the genre, whether it is crushing breakdowns, modern-tinged leads or even borrowing tropes from power metal. It is technical, epic, brutal but most of all fun. Borrowing stories from history, literature, and cinema, the album touches on themes of horror, shame, anger, oppression, and mania by way of story, metaphor, and allegory. They aren’t reinventing the genre or breaking significant new ground but they are bucking modern thrash trends of coalescing around the hardcore-laden neo-thrash and never straying from it and are doing so without regrets.

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

1. Entombed in Time: A contemplative thrasher with lots of twists and turns, rhythmic riffs, and grandiose melodic passages that tell of overcoming regret and shame

2. Suffer in Silence: A bipolar anthem that has uplifting highs and brutal chugging lows. This one is about the toxic culture surrounding internet discourse.

3. Left to Rot: a technical and manic 6/8 thrasher that is full of old-school riffs and wild guitar solos. The lyrics alternate from metaphor to on the nose about the failures of the American social safety net

4. In the Corner of Your Eye: a Metallica-esque power ballad with soaring vocals and a twist-and-turns-laden structure, it tells the story of a man who was killed by a demon and all of his loved ones forgot he ever existed. He watches over his family as a ghost but quickly realizes that they forgot him and he is driven mad and begins to haunt them.

5. Knightfall: Our power metal anthem, with some tasty D minor riffage, harmonies, and an infectious chorus. This song is about Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

6. The Misanthropist: Another moody thrasher borrowing techniques from second-wave black metal. The lyrics tell of the life and times of Jon Nodveidt

7. Extractor: This song is about our namesake monster the Mindrazer as he seduces his victim into a sense of serenity and then extracts and consumes their brain. A hypnotic thunderbolt of a song at breakneck speed with atypical chromatic riffing, dissonant alien leads, and bone-crushing breakdowns.

8. Better Dead: An angsty politically charged riff machine. It is our take on the classic 0, 3, 6 song. This one is a fresh take on that tried and true classic with a heaping dose of thoughtful anti-authority energy for good measure.

9. Crusader: A frenetic epic with an infectious riff, and constant twists and turns that really paints the picture of riding into battle to fight on a blood-covered, snowy battlefield in medieval Finland.

10. Mercy: A simple melancholy serenade on classical guitar, a solemn and contemplative end to bring the listener down from the metal fire that precedes it.

===================================================

Fun Facts – Story Angles

1. Nick and Brian recorded an actual sword fight live in the studio for Crusader. They brought in some swords they got at a Renaissance fair and spent an hour screaming and bashing swords together to make layers and layers of a battle sound effect.

2. The band’s mascot Khowyrd (pronounced ‘Howard’) is a Mindrazer, an aberrant, otherworldly being from another dimension. It uses its neurotoxin-tipped facial tentacles to engulf its victim’s head and then bore its proboscis into the skull and consume the knowledge from its victim’s mind, leaving behind a mindless husk that bends to its every whim. Khowyrd is a frequent fixture of Mindrazer shows and regularly shows up on stage during performances to tantalize and seduce an unsuspecting audience

3. The producer for this record, Kevin Antreassian, played guitar in The Dillinger Escape Plan

Combining the anthemic melodies of Traditional and Power Metal, the precise, aggressive attack of Thrash, and twists of dark intensity borrowed from Second-Wave Black Metal, Mindrazer plays a style as familiar as it is fresh. Since 2017, the New Jersey quartet has straddled the boundaries between the different sides of Metal music. Despite their relative newness to the scene, the band has already taken on everything from punkish romps to soaring, conceptual epics, from metallic ballads to the upper limits of extremity within the clean-vocal Thrash format, all while retaining a distinct and coherent sound.

The story of Mindrazer begins years before their official formation when a high school marching band’s rendition of Tool served as the catalyst for the meeting of Nick DeFuria (Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vocals) and Brian Weissman (Drums/Percussion).  Though the two experimented with different ideas for a metal band, things truly got off the ground in their college years, when they met Vin “Hawky” Verducci (Bass) and formed a Thrash trio that would become Mindrazer.

Though the trio had potential, and could finally begin to gig, it would take some time to iron out the kinks of their sound and transform from amateur imitators of metal giants to instant classics in their own right. Over the course of their college years, they would tighten their chops, expand their songwriting palette, refine their showmanship, experiment with a couple different lead guitarists, and develop a new image, with a new name to boot.  By the point of their graduation, The band took the name Mindrazer, titled after a monster inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft and tabletop RPGs, but with unique lore developed by the band.  Khøwyrd, the band’s abominable yet whimsical mascot, perfectly encapsulates the spirit the band has cultivated.  Frontman Nick’s soaring, operatic vocals tackle the horrors of history, society, and the human imagination – at once in all seriousness, and all in good fun, as only a great metal band can.

With their most recent addition, that of the infinitely charismatic shredder, Mo Uddin, Mindrazer has reached a new level of mastery, grounded in traditional thrash but never bound to it; stretching its limits with graceful yet fierce dual-tremolo, crushing breakdowns, and prog-inspired, sweeping leads. His arrival came just in time to refine the band’s upcoming debut “A Thing of Nightmares” to the level of a mad science. With their sound sharpened and polished to all the cold, hard, vicious elegance of a steel razor to the brain, Mindrazer is back with a vengeance, and no mind is safe.

About The Album Artwork:

End of mankind, the struggle, the anger. We as humans have no more sympathy, no more soft skills. Just anger.

About The Album (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

Life’s challenges and making it one day at a time.  The Struggle is real!!

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

1. Damage Done is a song dealing with anger at the state of the world: Wars, government overreach, and the hypocrisy of people in general. It’s fairly bleak, venting a lot of rage at the oppression of the masses by the monied elite.

2. System Of Revolution is, obviously, a call for revolution. It stems from a desire for people to take the fight to the powers that be and take the world back from those who would destroy it. Weaker Born is a much more personal song, dealing with betrayal by someone that was once trusted. It’s a bit of a revenge fantasy, as well as an attempt to move forward after said betrayal.

3. Are You Alive is another call to arms, expressing a desire for people to wake up and fight back against their oppressors, and general dismay at how unaware and/or apathetic a lot of people are about what is going on. The people have the power.

4. Nothing Left To Burn has a fair amount of double entendre. On the surface it’s a bit post-apocalyptic, dealing with the destruction of the environment and society’s collapse. But a lot of the lines have a double meaning, also referencing burning bridges in personal relationships and the sadness of leaving a previous life behind.

3 – Our guitarist is a DO ALL GUY!!!  He films us, makes videos, has a cookbook, a car DIY YouTube channel, Jesus…..  ask him he will build it, ask him he will shoot it, skin it and serve a 3 course 5 star meal.

Since Spring 2022 Power/Progressive Metal band IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has been building awareness and anticipation toward a full album by releasing new songs digitally alongside some great music videos every few months. Fans of the band have enjoyed the development and creativity of the album’s content and evolvement into a concept and final work that will finally compile and complete the 10-song album. ‘Unite and Conquer’ will hit stores in the US, and Canada on Oct. 27th, as well as Asia via a licensing deal with Ward Records, followed weeks later by a new deal for European release through Massacre Records.

Today, the band offers another nugget in the shape of the “Rise of the Phoenix” digital single/music video, further unraveling the depth of the album. Watch the music video at https://youtu.be/RCPgVlkY7IM

“This song is a tribute to my mother, conveying her challenging upbringing and the resilience she embodies. Both my grandparents passed away in a train accident when my mom was only 9 years old. She had to make it through life on her own and eventually move to the USA as a Mexican immigrant,” shares guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “The fact that she never gave up, never caved in, and raised me and all my siblings through so much turbulence, showed she could rise through it all. These lyrics paint a vivid picture of a childhood marked by hardship and sacrifice, with a sense of isolation and struggle. Despite the adversities she faced, this song carries a message of hope and transformation, likening her to a phoenix rising from the ashes.”

“Rise of the Phoenix” is the sixth digital single and music video, preceded by “Ozona,” “Echoes,” “Southern Rain” “Perfect Person” and “Roots Run Deep” (feat. Ralf Sheepers – Primal Fear). All can be heard online already through your favorite streaming or download platform, or watch the videos on YouTube.

‘Unite and Conquer,’ like its hailed and successful predecessor 2021’s ‘Psychosomatic’ was written and recorded by the band themselves with credit going to Gabriel Guardian and bassist Joshua Lopez, who also mixed the album at his Widowmaker Studios. They enlisted the help of artist/photographer Masiha Fattahi (Threshold) with further design work by Jobert Mello (Sabaton, Primal Fear, Acid Reign), as well as guest vocals by Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, Gamma Ray) and Vicky Psarakis (The Agonist, Sicksense) to create a stellar new album.

“We definitely took a new direction with our writing process and overall sound on the new album. We tried some new things Immortal Guardian has never done, but also kept a taste of our classic sound in the process,” explains guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “We were all going through some crazy experiences in our lives while making this album and I think it really reflects in the music. As we did during our ‘Psychosomatic’ album, we were writing these songs in real time as we lived through these major events in the world and in our personal lives.”

“Immortal Guardian’s ‘Unite and Conquer,’ lyrically traverses a multifaceted emotional journey, from introspection and self-discovery that passionately calls for unity and change. The poetic verses entwine seamlessly with the captivating melodies, delivering a musical narrative that resonates with the listener on a profound level, leaving an indelible mark on the heart and soul. With a simple message — this is the time to Unite and Conquer.”

Always lyrically insightful and pushing musical boundaries, the latest from IMMORTAL GUARDIAN will please fans of progressive, power, and traditional metal with so much tasty playing and melodies. Evidence is already obviously apparent in the six songs released to date, but there is still more to enjoy.

“A mega-catchy prog-power anthem (Read Between The Lines) mixed with a blend of crushing performances that’ll leave you salivating for more.” – Metal Injection

“Immortal Guardian are a band that are so technically proficient that it’s infuriating. Gabriel Guardian is, as usual, the star of Psychosomatic with his self-dueling guitar/keyboard work, but the shiny new rhythm section is right there with him. The album covers a lot of ground. It’s power metal at it’s core but some moments sound very Dethklok, while others have a bit of a Latin flare, and you’re also getting classical influences.” – Metal Injection

“Psychosomatic, an album that will likely be viewed as one of 2021’s best releases, and a landmark record for Immortal Guardian. ” – Metal Nation

““Psychosomatic” is a super catchy (Prog) Power Metal album” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“With this album (Psychosomatic) Immortal Guardian should no longer be seen as a promising band. Not only have they shown that they have an enormous compositional quality and an elite technical level, they have also shown that they are a band that faces difficulties and that they have all the will to continue. Making a high-quality second album two years after their dazzling debut tells us about the enormous inner power these musicians have.” – Metal Rules

““QUARAN-TAAAAAYN!” No matter what you think about Immortal Guardian, it’s refreshing to hear a band that plays their style while confronting modern life. Though there’s a lot of big, epic, technical stuff going on on Psychosomatic, it never devolves into a lot of bullshit about chivalry and orcs. As such, they feel poised to be the inheritors of Nevermore’s throne, a gritty power metal band who feel relevant even as they soar. Get this in your brain.” – The Pit

“If you enjoyed Age of Revolution, you are bound to be thrilled by Psychosomatic. The band continues to up their game with technical thrills, but grounds it in some darker and personal songwriting that gives it a slight edge over their previous material. An easy pick-up for those in the power/prog section.” – Dead Rhetoric

Display of Decay’s “Legion of Doom” is a death metal look at the menacing death knights found in World Of Warcraft. Step into the shadows of musical intensity and bask in bloody riffs, frosty bass lines, and unholy vocals. “Legion of Doom” comes off the band’s sixth album “Vitriol”, which is packed full of technical and dark artistry. The band details the writing process:

“Musically, this song was rewritten a number of times. I can remember a few minutes before a writing session, Brandon was on his way over and I was sitting there strumming along to warm up when I plucked the notes that would eventually become the chorus, and I thought to myself ‘’did I just write the best riff ever?!” Of course, I didn’t, but it’s a pretty damn great riff. This song is definitely more ‘progressive’ than the other ones perhaps, I feel there’s a definite nod to ‘Death’ in this one, but nonetheless, it’s about slaying monsters in Azeroth. FOR THE HORDE.”

Since 2007, Display of Decay has been writing death metal songs about serial killers, school shootings, and otherwise brutal methods of dying. Deep down though, they’re just a bunch of nerds who love playing heavy music and this song really captures that. There are other songs on the album that also pay homage to nerdy endeavors such as Mass Effect and Diablo while being wrapped up in groovy guitar work and ever-increasing technicality that shows how far the band has come over the years.

Get ready to experience the visceral and unapologetic realm of death metal and death knights with “Legion of Doom” recommended for fans of Immolation, Pantera, and Morbid Angel.

Kansas City, USA’s Torn The Fuck Apart (TTFA) has been amassing a brutal and gory discography since 2006 and now they continue their triumphant evolution as a three-piece powerhouse with their sixth release “Kill.Bury.Repeat.” that will bury listeners in a fury of death metal. Their sound features groove, aggression, and technicality layered with lyrics growling out themes of horror and homicide. They share their excitement for the latest release:

“We in TTFA are extremely excited to bring you our newest album “Kill.Bury.Repeat.” a collection of horror stories from our imagination or inspired by true events. We believe this album represents the next level of brutality that we have worked to achieve over the years not only musically but also lyrically, something that any fan of metal can enjoy.”

TTFA‘s lineup consists of Michael Langner on guitars/vocals, Brandon Mitchell on bass/vocals, and Dylan Watt on drums/vocals. Notably, Langner and Mitchell also double as members of Troglodyte, while Watt remains active in Sedlec Ossuary. Over the years, their sound has matured and evolved, partly due to their refusal to limit musical influences, thus drawing inspiration from various metal subgenres and incorporating different styles into their music.

In essence, they sum up their sound simply as “death metal,” but their music offers a vivid and detailed portrait of the horrors of death, the cycle of rebirth, and humanity’s morbid fascination with these themes. Not ones to sit idly by, they are overflowing with creative ideas and ensure fans that there will be a continuous stream of death metal devastation in the coming months. They are recommended listening for fans of Suffocation, Cryptopsy, and Cannibal Corpse.

Brutal, gory, fast, and technical, “Kill.Bury.Repeat.” is available as of Friday, October 6th, 2023 via Gore House Productions.

For the album’s release day, the band is also sharing a new drum playthrough video for the title track that you can check out via Sick Drummer Magazine’s YouTube Channel – https://youtu.be/YJLIPNmXpG0

“The Kansas City-based band are known for a full-on, brutal approach, and this new track is no exception. This is the second single (A Statement of Malicious Intent) released from the anticipated full-length, and it proves the band are not slowing their roll at all, as it pummels through fast and furious.” – Decibel Magazine

“Torn the Fuck Apart is one of the most unpretentious band names in extreme metal, and it’s also an example of “truth in advertising”: their music delivers what the name promises. Much the same could be said for this Kansas City’s band’s new album that’s due for release next month: Kill. Bury. Repeat.” – No Clean Singing

“TTFA have a penchant for gruesome lyrical themes that match up with their name. There is indeed a maelstrom of ruinous madness in the song (Corrosive Form) itself. Operating at a full-throttle pace from the very start, the band open with a maniacally swarming riff that nevertheless includes a vivid pulse, and then switch into a whining and writhing sensation that also includes feverish jackhammering jolts. There’s equally ruinous tumult in the low end and equally manic progressions in the snare-work (though it often fires like a machine weapon), with monstrous gutturals barking the words like a huge hellhound. But as the song surges ahead, subtle changes in the rhythms and the riffing keep coming, one after another, along with sudden stops and starts, without detracting from the song’s overarching sensation of crazed cruelty. And as forecast, the song also proves to be a highly infectious disease as well as a big dose of adrenaline.” – No Clean Singing

“If you’re into any sort of extreme metal, then you will love this. It’s got all sorts going on and I can hear shades of Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Goatwhore and others. TTFK might be a trio but they make one hell of a noise and are as tight as a ducks butt. Death metal is in safe, but dangerous, hands with these guys and I’ll be sourcing their back catalogue ASAP.” – My Global Mind

“With grim and guttural intent, Torn the Fuck Apart take no prisoners here. Sticking rigidly to the brutal death metal formula, but also infusing the album with a level of horror that makes for a bloodcurdling listen.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Headbanging-Life

“TTFA’s musical technique is undeniable” – Amplified Magazin

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 6, 2023

New Music Video! Catch INFERNALIZER “Falling In Slow Motion”

New Album “After Dark” Coming October 27th, 2023

Infernalizer will be unleashing its new album “After Dark” on October 27th, 2023 via Rockshots Records. So far in the lead-up to the record’s forthcoming release, they have unveiled to fans two music videos “What Did You Expect?” (https://youtu.be/hbADbsfAtQ8) and “What We Do In The Shadows” (https://youtu.be/RFb7rg1t-fM).

Today, the band unlocks their third video for the track “Falling In Slow Motion”, a song that is completely different from their previous two singles as frontman Claudio Ravinale explains further:

“This is a little bit of a power ballad, it has a lot of different layers to it and represents the darker and less campy side of the album. The female vocals on the chorus really help to emphasize the emotional nature of the track creating a captivating vocal melody while the male vocals switch from the low gothic vibes of the verses (once again very influenced by late Type O Negative singer, Peter Steele) to the death metal growls of the bridges creating a vivid contrast; the central part of the track showcases a more elaborate cinematic atmosphere. As opposed to most of the other songs on the album there is no trace of dark humor in the lyrics that focus on the theme of death and departure.”

Video – https://youtu.be/ycO1T4czaoc

Spotify – https://tinyurl.com/274f8s34

Infernalizer is the brand new creature conceived and brought to life by the creative mind of Claudio Ravinale to portray his own take on the heavy metal genre. Ravinale is best known as the vocalist of Italian death metal veterans Disarmonia Mundi, who has achieved worldwide recognition with their high-octane melo-death throughout two decades and featuring Bjorn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork) among their ranks, along with being in other recognizable bands such as The Silverblack, 5 Star Grave and The Stranded.

Heavily influenced by 80’s metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and Danzig, Ravinale‘s new project Infernalizer relies on the use of gloomy keys and eerie samples, paying homage to more somber gothic rock acts like Type O Negative and The Sisters Of Mercy. Vocally closer to contemporary acts like Rob Zombie and Wednesday 13, the range of influences also includes evocative cinematographic soundscapes that provide Infernalizer‘s songs with a more solemn and nocturnal atmosphere.

Ready to follow up the 2021 debut album “The Ugly Truth”, Infernalizer presents the new full-length “After Dark” set to be unleashed in October 2023 via Rockshots Records.

Constantly balancing between aggressive moments and gothic atmospheres properly supported by deep crooning vocals and more irate outbursts. This new record is deeply rooted in 80’s metal and often prone to arena rock choruses, sets an eerie and nocturnal mood especially when it comes to the use of keyboards, often reminiscent of classic horror movie themes.

The desire to go towards more gothic rock territories on this new offering is fully represented by tracks like “Death Wish”, “This Is My Yard” or “Falling In Slow Motion”, while the planned-to-be-released singles “What Did You Expect?” and “What We Do In The Shadows” (both mastered at Sterling Sound Studio in Nashville by legendary Grammy-winning mastering engineer Ted Jensen) are open-heart love letters to 80’s hard rock. There’s no shortage of bangers as well with songs like “The Dark Passenger”, “Moon of Blood” or the title track providing the more muscular edge of the album.

Infernalizer frontman Claudio Ravinale comments:

“People that loved the previous album are gonna dig this new one because we basically took our time to refine the formula, focus properly on how we wanted the record to sound, and had a starting point to evolve from. Usually with the first album you simply take a leap in the dark and see how it goes, with the second one you already have a layer of bricks to build on and that’s exactly what we did. This is pure and simple entertainment. I’m not here to preach, I’m not here to make the world a better place, I simply want people to have a good time listening to this music, nothing else.”

Infernalizer‘s sophomore album “After Dark” is due out on October 27, 2023, and available for pre-order on vinyl at https://bit.ly/AfterDarkVINYL.
