Gearing up for their second release of 2013, ‘Grande National’ on August 27th to follow up their eighth studio recording ‘Kicking The Can’. Edmonton, AB’s favourite rock reggae quintet Stone Iris is now streaming their first single ‘Hard To Stay Cool When…’ at the following link here.

About: Stone Iris is a brotherhood of like-minded musicians. From humble beginnings in Edmonton, Canada, their fusion of self described Southern Rock from the True North / Reggae Music from a Cold Dark Place has been blazing across Canada and the USA over the years.

With consistent touring, busking, jamming and writing, the undeniable, yet un-classifiable spectacle known as Stone Iris has been persistent in sharing their craft and passion. With a love for performing, their live show is as honest and original, as it is part of who and what they are. Driven by groove, it makes you move.

Much has been in store for Stone Iris in 2013; including extensive touring, two full length albums, the first being their eighth recording ‘Kicking The Can’ released in March and now to be followed by their ninth release ‘Grande National’ this coming August.

Releasing their first single ‘I Wanna’  from ‘Kicking The Can’ to radio across Canada along with local support by Edmonton’s rock authority Sonic 102.9 FM who named the group ‘Band of The Month’ for March plus premiering their music video  ‘Taste of Fame’ onBlankTV. Stone Iris is hitting the road for their second North American Tour since releasing‘Kicking The Can’.

0 Hellbound – BornBroken – The Healing Powers of Hate

“From the Canadian Mecca of metal, Montreal, comes upstart antagonists of aggression BornBroken and their debut The Healing Powers of Hate. From the opening moments of lead track “Can’t Quiet the Riot” it’s obvious these boys aim to take their hybrid of groove metal and metalcore and jam it right down your throat. Drawing heavily from the likes of Pantera and Lamb of God, the first meal of the day is a pit-ready anthem. Working off catchy as fuck, breakdown inflected riffs BornBroken mercilessly pound the listener to pulp. There is absolutely no doubt people leave a BornBroken show with injuries.”

“Everything about this album is something that should please thrash fans, from the music itself to the styling’s of the cover art.

One of the best aspects of this album lies in the guitars. There’s an abundance of awesome solo’s to be heard on this album, all atop high energy fast paced drum rhythms and quick riffing guitars. The lead guitar work on this album in general is pretty fantastic, and it’s evident from the very first track ‘Enter Purgatory’, which has two pretty awesome guitar solo’s and starts the album off with a blast.”

‘I thoroughly enjoyed “The Healing Powers of Hate”. It’s got breakdowns, screaming solos and funky bass, three of my favourite things. I also liked the way the band incorporated other non-musical features, such as the sounds of sirens and spoken lyrics. It’s hard to hate on this album, despite the healing powers the emotion offers. ‘

After touring the country following their epic relocation and being faced with a major blow in Toronto that saw their van and nearly all their gear get stolen, Sanktuary turned things around with a third EP in 2011, Tundrastruck (a 3 way split with Black Moor and Metallian), followed by them signing to Spread the Metal Records, which sent them all the way back to Whitehorse to record ‘Something Fierce’.

THE IN & OUTS Post New Lyric Video From New Album ‘Zero Gravity’, New Music Video ‘There We Go’ + FREE Download

L-R: Alexandre Pépin – Bass | Francois -Michel Beauchamp – Drums, Backup Vocals |  David Groover – Lead Vocals, Guitar

One of the hottest flames to rise out of Montreal’s musical blaze, The In & Outs, a high voltage, electrifying experience have posted a new lyric video for the title track from their new second full-length, ‘Zero Gravity’ released earlier this June.

Lyric Video – Zero Gravity – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGd6zkE992M

zero gravity - the in & outs ( lyrics )

Expertly fusing rock riffs with cheeky lyrics and the occasional hint of funky blues only begins to underline the trio’s vast influences from diverse genres, ranging from Johnny Cash to The Doors, passing through Elvis Presley and John Spencer.

Lyrically eclectic and musically unrivalled each and every In & Outs song demonstrates a profound love of music and reflects the ups and downs of life and the essence of a society where creating your own opportunities leads to self-fulfilment, all of which is transmitted to their audiences through a hypnotic stream of sound and energy.

Landing a commercial placement in a 2011 Ford Focus televised ad in Quebec with their track ‘Steep Mountain’ (video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAoRDl-VM2g), along with their songs ‘Celebrate Consumption’ and ‘Boo My God’ used for Sports Network (RDS) show H2Snow (video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9WcXbQXYWQ), The In & Outs have progressed in the Montreal music scene and beyond, touring Europe in 2012 and performing at multiple festivals in support of last year’s self-titled EP and their debut album, ‘Ascending Back and Forth’.

‘Zero Gravity’ can now be purchased on iTunes and via http://theinnouts.bandcamp.com/ along with a FREE download of their single ‘There We Go’.
