Following ‘Pi Nature’, Ninjaspy has toured across Canada on multiple occasions including touring Japan in 2010 (watch video here) winning over legions of fans along the way. In 2013, they unleashed their musical graphic novel ‘No Kata’ with the single ‘Skaingkh (The Skank)’ (animated version can be viewed below).
In additional news, the band recently wrapped up their ‘Jump Ya Bones Tour’, which saw them perform dates from British Columbia to Ontario in promotion of the indiegogo campiagn plus the band has been confirm for this year’s Loud As Hell Festival in Drumheller, AB running from August 29 – Sept 1 (Labour Day weekend). About:
Ninjaspy arose with the dawn of the year of six, embodied by the Triad in Blood: Vocalist/Guitarist Joel Parent, Drummer Adam Parent and Bassist Tim Parent. Rising above the mire of their faceless six year muse, they have focused their sights on the mission objectives now at hand: Swift, surgical amalgamation of a spectrum of styles and the subsequent eradication of narrow mindedness. Advocating total freedom of expression and infiltrating every earthen sinew in their chosen path in order to stay grounded and facilitate real connections with others; interactions that are crucial for a meaningful human existence. In correlation with a commitment to people before all else, support for Ninjaspy has grown with every show, every tour and every industry contact.
With the help of prolific producers, GGGarth Richardson and Ben Kaplan, they entered the next level of their career, releasing their debut cd πature (Pi Nature) in the fall of 2007. Ever reworking new ideas to their utmost potential, 2013 saw the release of the follow-up multi-media EP/Graphic Novella “NINJASPY NO KATA” with production by the same team of producers.
Equipped and, indeed, armed with their own musical weaponry, (a derivation of hardcore, ska, grunge, reggae, funk and more) Ninjaspy aim to engage people with radical ideas on a level plane. And above all else, to reiterate to people over and again, the importance of victory in the eternal conflict with the skank; the vicious and relentless evil that lives in every human being. The skank that is overcome each time Ninjaspy has the honour of sharing their crafts with people in a live environment, where dancing destroys the enemy. The enemy whose defeat is apparent as one witnesses the total freedom felt at every show by the people in the pit who rise up to throw the skank down.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce Neck of The Woods as winner of the Vancouver semi-final that took place on Sat, May 3 @ Rickshaw Theatre (254 E. Hastings St.). They will be moving on to the national final and joining previous Toronto semi-final winners My Hollow and Burning The Day with more to be announced. The national final will be held in Toronto on Saturday, June 7 @ Opera House (735 Queen St E.) where one independent Canadian metal band will be chosen to perform at the international Wacken Metal Battle during Wacken Open Air 2014 taking place from July 31- Aug 2.

The bands will compete during the months of March, April and May in 22 qualifying rounds, 6 semi-finals, and an Alberta final along with the national final being held on June 7th in Toronto, ON at Opera House.
One band will be chosen to represent the nation with highest honour at this year’s 2014 international battle at the world’s most prestigious metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany.
The finals will have the following representation and will be judged along with all other rounds by a panel of music industry representatives.

1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off in Alberta final)
2 finalists from Toronto, ON
1 finalist from Montreal, QC
Last year’s battle was witnessed to Toronto, ON’s epic power/death metal band Crimson Shadows not only winning the 2013 Canadian final but conquering the international final and performing in front of thousands unknown to their behemoth sound. (Video of that champion set can be viewed here.) The band joined a list of Canadian heavyweights such as Voivod, Exciter, Razor, Annihilator, Anvil, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, 3 Inches of Bloods, Despised Icon and Danko Jones who have performed at the festival in years past.
Submissions were open from December 5, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce Exit Strategy winner of Calgary’s fifth and last qualifying round that took place on Sat, May 3 at Lord Nelson’s Pub (1020 8 Ave SW.). The band will move on to compete at the city final and join the line up with Krepitus, False Flag, Vile Insignia, Black Pestilence on Saturday, May 17 @ Vern’s (622 8 Ave SW). Two bands from the Calgary city final will move to the Alberta final on Fri, May 23 @ Dicken’s Pub (1000 9 Ave SW.) where the bands will face off against two bands from Edmonton’s city final for one to win a spot at the national final in Toronto, ON on June 7th at Opera House (735 Queen St. E.).
