‘Desire Will Rot’ was recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 recording studio in Ottawa, ON and is the band’s first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’ and follows the band’s recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs.

About:

Started as a recording project in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon, drummer Mathieu Vilandré, bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon, and guitarist Johnny Ibay have performed at some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck The Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records. Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

Track by Track: The meaning behind the album and the songs described by vocalist Robert Kreed.

The front and back cover is a picture of a person tearing themselves open with their own hands. Opening the CD is essentially tearing the person open to reveal what lies within. The Hatred Inside.

“The Hatred Inside” is a look inside, an autopsy, of a vile and very disturbed being. Inside there are horrific stories of torture, mutilation, genocide, and blasphemy. Each song is told by the perspective of the victim or the victimizer with one common theme of misery.

Track 1. “The Hatred Inside” is an intro and the beginning of the autopsy where the listen delves into the madness about to be unleashed.

Track 2. “Deceiver” Is a battle of religious view points and whether to embrace or denounce God.

Track 3. “Committed” is a tale of love gone wrong where everything a person once admired eventually is destroyed by the same person.

Track 4. “Blood Ashes” describes a battle of demonic evil waging genocide upon every living mortal leaving nothing to thrive.

Track 5. “Suffocate” is from the perspective of a Priest who is also a child killer. The Priest ends up being killed only yo return from the grave and continue his heinous act of murder.

Track 6. “Murder Baby” A token them song for us and a crowd favorite is a song about how one bad decision leads to another. The unfortunate results spiral out of control, claiming lives and one’s own sanity.

Track 7. “Xombimind” is told from the perspective of someone who is slowly being turned into a zombie and reflects how their life was as the painful reality of decay sets in.

Track 8. “Beginnings” tells of savagery lets loose among civilization. People cannibalizing each other and committing violent acts without thought.

Track 9. “Obelisk” depicts the return of a demonic lord who crushes all who oppose and proceeds to burn their planet to ash and destroying the embodiment of God.

Track 10. “Conquer” is a story from the view point of an invading viking army who simply lay waste to their enemies and claim the land as their own.

Track 11. “Hate March Kill” is the final destruction of everything alive. No one survives as religion is eradicated, civilizations are left in ruin, and the inescapable realization that your time too has come. The outro of this song are also the final seconds of the disturbed individual from “The Hatred Inside.” Death claims yet another.

BLEED is an Edmonton based band bringing horror, mayhem, and pain through a medium that brushes on brutal death metal. Their live show combines costumed performances with crushing, groovy thrash peppered with blood. The band pays homage to theatrical metal kings, GWAR, through their own original material and costume design. They guarantee that fans will be chanting along with their grotesque lyrics from such songs as ‘Murder Baby’ complete with appropriate props to accompany much of the material they write.

The blood covered four piece is composed of Ron (guitarist), Rob (vocalist), Mike (Bass) who also plays bass in Samandriel, and Chuck (Drums) who also plays in Idolatry and Ivardensphere. They draw inspiration from many bands; Slayer for their in your face delivery and lyrical content, GWAR for their stage show and lyrical content, Strapping Young Lad for their chaotic sound and comedic entertainment, Zimmer’s Hole for their stage show and variety of song style, and DevilDriver for their overall heavy/borderline death metal sound.

Their song writing strategy is simple: start with a guitar riff, structure it, and map it out, from there they add bass and drums, rehearse liberally, and continue to craft the instrumentals until they are completely ‘fleshed’ out. Lyrics are usually written in one sitting by Robert (vocals) once the emotion is found a story begins to unfold, be it about war, demons, death, torture, and other unpleasantries

The band has released a self-titled EP in 2014, and plan to release their debut full-length in Fall 2015, accompanying it will be a booklet with individual band photos, grotesque artistic imagery, and lyrics for the songs. Fans and crowds are guaranteed to be covered in blood by the end of the show with their endless ferocity.

To build a corporation and family that will help people reach their true potential and fuel their passion. Starting off with a talented roster of bands, promoting and constantly innovating new music for the record label. Manufacturing and promoting their new albums and sending them out on tour across the globe. My vision is to revolutionize the music industry by giving the music to the fans for a monthly membership fee. Having a multitude of perks set up through the Loyalty membership, and a multitude of external companies providing incentives and cross promotion. I aspire to make a service that people from all walks of life can enjoy and benefit from. 20% of net profit of the label will be deposited into a fund for the ‘TYM Academy of the Arts’. Which will be a Non-Profit music and arts academy I hope to open within the next 3-5 years.

Like any good long lasting relationship, the things I value in business are also the things I value in life. Passion, Love, Honesty, Compassion, Teamwork and most of all FUN, FREEDOM and INTERDEPENDENCE. I started TYM Records because I want to help bands push to the next level while keeping control within their hands and to help them make a living from it!!! To always have fun and work as a family to build a career together. On top of the normal royalties baid to the artists and with the implementation of the Loyalty club I plan on paying out 24% of all net profits from the loyalty club to the bands on the roster on the last day of each month. So theoretically we will be able to watch the label grow to the point where every band on the label can solely focus on their craft and not have to worry about the bills! I aspire to be a leading example of Honesty, Fairness, Dedication and Transparency within this company. I have made it my new mission in life to help as many people as possible and I believe through TYM Records we can achieve that!
