ODIUM has been operating out of Hanover, Ontario producing dark, yet melodic metal layered with fast-paced gruff bellows, resonating vocals, and pounding instrumentals for nearly a decade. After releasing an EP and two full-length records, the band is now back with their third album ‘Terraform’ available as of October 23, 2015, which is now streaming and can be purchased on digital and CD at the following links on bandcamp here, iTunes and Kill The 8 Merch here.

ODIUM‘s goal is to write heavy and melodic music, while constantly developing their style from album to album. The instrumentals lend their tone and energy to invite more versatility in the vocals in each song. Their passion for performing live and incredible stage energy has allowed them to open for Alexisonfire, The Agonist, Beneath the Massacre, Divinity, Moneen, and Fuck the Facts.
The lyrics invite listeners to take a journey through despair, while the bass and drums drive the rhythm, the guitars straddle the line between pure aggression and melodic riffs. For ODIUM there has always been a pattern of evolution over the past few years that allows them to continuously create multi-genre influenced music. The band is comprised of Joe Mullen, Jake Fortney, Andrew Fullerton, Bo Louther, Marc Dobson, who have come from various bands such as Archaea/Willfall.
The bands name is defined as ‘disgraceful hate’ however after the past 10 years they have come to see the band name relating directly to perseverance. ODIUM has a foundation of trust which creates a bond likened to that of a brotherhood. The dedication and teamwork within the band is based on respect, and because the internal bond is so strong they are able to create a meaningful connection with fans.

Vancouver’s NerdFest Returns For Fifth Year November 14th! And Things Just Got Nerdier!
Vancouver’s NERDFEST presented by Aesir Promotions returns for its fifth year entertaining a night of epic fantasy and everything nerdy! Growing in popularity this annual event is reaching beyond and getting even nerdier with this years lineup with some of the best Vancouver has to offer. Taking place onNovember 14th at The Rickshaw Theatre, NERDFEST offers a variety talents with live music from Blackberry Wood & The Runaway Four, a performance by Mr Yoyothrower and Joey Hockin as Super Spin Brothers, sword fighting by Academie Duello – School of Modern Swordplay, burlesque by Dezi Raider, fire dancing by Casper Macabre, and for the first time Glam Slam Wrestling, plus a show of short films and even a best costume contest plus so much more!

INVERTED SERENITY has been the go to band when it comes to supporting touring acts in Winnipeg. Just coming off their local support slot for Soulfly, Soilwork and Shattered Sun earlier this month, these tech death metal architects have been tapped once again to open on November 5th at The Windsor Hotel for ‘The Infernus Tour’ featuring Hate Eternal, Misery Index, Beyond Creation and Rivers of Nihil. ‘Integral’ is a gateway into the infinite fractal nature of the minds of Drew (Parasitism) on guitar, backing vocals, Ben (Moira) on drums, backing vocals, Tom on bass, lead vocals, and Marco on guitar. Topics are inspired from works of many psychonaughts akin to Carl Jung, involving transcendental, philosophies, global tribe mentality, the impermanence of the physical world, and alchemy. Their riffs range from atmospheric black-metal grooves, old-school inspired death metal passages, thrash riffs, progressive technical journeys, and everything in between for an extremely energetic onslaught of sounds.

Sudbury Metal Fest, Northern Ontario’s premier extreme music festival returns for its seventh year supporting Canadian metal with 36 bands from across the country along with showcasing international talent that includes Negura Bunget and Grimegod from Romania plus Dyanfari from Iceland. For three days Sudbury, ON will be biggest mosh pit in Canada from October 23rd to October 25th with two stages at the Sudbury Events Centre and Asylum, both located at 19 Regent Street. “Sudbury Metal Fest has a reputation for showcasing bands that are on the rise and doing big things, and we feel that this year’s line up is a solid display of underground and independent bands that Canadian fans need to see live and know about. Artists like Exes For Eyes, Thantifaxath, Zaum, and Corrupt Leaders to name just a few, are making big waves and have had appearances at some large festivals in Canada and the US.
