Prepare for a sonic descent into the unknown as USA’s Voraath unleashes their debut album “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” – a heavy and immersive experience through extreme music and sci-fi themes. In this release, they infused their enthusiasm for 80’s action sci-fi with their passion for brutal yet epic metal with hints of their own culture which includes haunting folk elements. They explain further:

“We think this album will be something unique, a whirlwind of emotions and an auditory odyssey. We capsulated real events in our lives and laced them through our complex musical universe. We want the fans to feel the music, and ride along with us on this musical journey through our dystopian planet. Their story will take an unforeseen turn as they encounter interdimensional horrors and bestow the moniker of god hunters.”

Voraath is proud of the level of detail that this album represents; from the duality of brutal yet melancholic soundscapes to the intricate lore which expands from the Appalachian mountains to the furthest regions of the cosmos. Being sci-fi enthusiasts they wanted to tell a grand story with cosmic entities warring and interdimensional worlds while paying homage to their culture in the Appalachian Mountains.

Voraath‘s lore, created from scratch, presents a seemingly simple dystopian survival story that unveils cosmic implications as one delves deeper. The band’s commitment to their narrative is evident in their songwriting process, with each member contributing their unique specialties to shape the final product. Get ready to embark on a metal journey like no other.

This is an odyssey of hardship, betrayal, and survival that leads us to discoveries with cosmic implications. It is recommended for fans of Septic Flesh, Gojira, and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

In additional news, VORAATH will be supporting Gorgatron and Casket Robbery on the “Mechanical Necrosis Tour” this coming June and July (dates listed below) along with a performance at this year’s Michigan Metal Fest on August 24th in Battle Creek alongside Mushroomhead, (hed) PE, Gideon and lots more.

Canada’s ART OF ATTRITION Provides A Devastating Soundtrack To Anger With “Vitriol”

Art of Attrition is a blackened technical deathcore band who separated themselves from the underground local scene with their 8-string barrage of dueling melodic guitars, gravity blast beats, intense guttural vocals, and epic orchestration. This year they are releasing their new EP “…And It Will All End Forever” on July 26, 2024. To whet the palates of those who enjoy infectious, brutal music, they are now releasing their music video for the single “Vitriol”, which they comment on:

“Vitriol was the first single we wrote and it set the tone for what we wanted to hear in the E.P. musically and lyrically. We created an eerie, despair-like atmosphere within the song while still recalling a fierceness. Creatively, we tried some new song structure ideas and it turned out exactly how we wanted. We are feeling very positive for the next chapter of AOA music.”

Musically, “Vitriol” is technical and epic. It starts with a melodic intro that is reflective of the first verse riff and gives an eerie rising effect. It is fast and technically proficient. It has a very epic chorus, haunting and catchy! Lyrically, it explores themes of anger – if left unchecked, it tends to fester over time. The single is an introspective foray into the worthiness of allowing space for such feelings and actions, into one’s own life.

The EP, “…And It Will All End Forever” is pure chaotic inoculation. A culmination of everything AoA has worked so hard to achieve in one record. Now, they are set to write a bit out of their comfort zone and delve into other genres that they love. The EP is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and Gaerea.

EPK – Art of Attrition – “…And It Will All End Forever” (2024)

Publicist – Jon Asher – jon[@]ashermediarelations[.]com

“ … AND IT WILL ALL END FOREVER is going to be fun. This new territory is an amalgamation of all the music we have heard and been inspired by in the past couple of years. So many ideas had been channeling through, that it was necessary to create something unique for us while still maintaining our roots. Adding more beautiful cleans, soft choirs, haunting solos, catchy chorus’ and more emotive sections in our song structure. We present a record that you can listen to from front to back and can be easily repeated. Every time you repeat, you find more in the songs, another layer. We love this record and are super proud of it.” – Art of Attrition

“Since the speed is incredibly fast, you get the feeling that every song is a 10-minute epic, but they are all in the 5-minute plus/minus direction. But epic is a good keyword, because every single piece has such technical power that you really need several runs to understand, what’s actually going on and that’s what brings tears of joy to the eyes of every metal fan who loves the technical hidden refinements. A small highlight is probably the last of the four songs, as well as the title song “…And It Will All End Forever”, which expresses the band’s entire range and makes it clear to everyone, what is meant by “Technical Deathcore”.9.5/10” – Hellfire Magazin

““…And It Will All End Forever” rises to the surface with the speed and dexterity of bands like Archspire. Mesmerising lead guitars shine brightly above the powerhouse rhythms, momentary silences between anvil heavy sections giving fleeting respite. A gargantuan monolithic breakdown is the last thing you might expect to hear on a track with such stunning lead guitars but the band brought it and it is nothing short of brutal, contrasted perfectly the delicate piano fade out. It’s hard to fathom how this band are not on a major label because this record is sublime [9/10]” – Metal Noise

“Blackened technical deathcore… brutal and pissed off too” – 89.9 WORT FM – The Moshpit (Madison, WI)

“But then the EP’s ending title track. Holy fuck do they knock it out of the park with 6 minutes of killer melodies, a killer chorus and key/choirs, and a massive breakdown that make it an absolutely killer track, maybe one of the year’s best in the genre” – Teeth of The Divine

“Art Of Attrition plays a musical style that takes a very technical form of blackened death metal and mixes it with deathcore and symphonic metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes. In my opinion Art of Attrition are a very great sounding technical and blackened deathcore band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE “Drown In Fog” and “Emaciate”. 8 out of 10.” – Bringer of Death Zine

About The Album Artwork

– All our artworks are painted. A being is sitting, hands cut off, and blood running down the arms to the ground. The being is swallowed by the earth. The colour concept is moody cool tone pastels, dark blues and greens which match our first album colour scheme and a contrast of red.

Empty, no one to help, no one to care. The raw emotion of helplessness and being consumed by the cold, steel environment.

Its official description is “Despair”

About the album as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

“…and it all will end forever” is a head-first dive into self-introspection. Each track is not only an acknowledgement of the existence of inner struggle, but a confrontation. An open-ended internal dialogue, within itself. The album is a metaphorical checkpoint on the steep and winding journey that is self-discovery. “…and it will all end forever” endeavours to facilitate a starkly honest sense of self-accountability.

As a whole, the album is musically: Fast, Technical, Haunting, Groovy, Brutal, Melodic, Emotional, Ethereal, Atmospheric, Eerie, Bludgeoning, and Chaotic.

Track by Track (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

Drowned in Fog Musically: Is MUSICALLY brutal. It was written with speed and intensity in mind. It is an extreme and fast song that offers a lot of emotions such as anger and anxiety. The guitars are driving, the drums are fast while maintaining technicality and it also showcases a lot of groove. By the way, it ends with the heaviest breakdown we’ve ever done!

Drowned in Fog Lyrically: “Drown in Fog” is a song about trying to understand the reasons behind substance use as a means of coping. Whether or not the effects of a substance are worse than the feelings they are helping to mask, can be a very difficult question to ask.

However, in chemically soothing these lower emotions, we often inadvertently rob ourselves of natural highs. Pain and suffering bring healthy balance to our existence. Without a frame of reference, we trudge leniently through the fog.

Vitriol Musically: is MUSICALLY technical and epic. It starts with a melodic intro that is reflective of the first verse riff and gives an eerie rising effect. It is fast and technically proficient. It has a very epic chorus haunting and catchy! Throughout the track you’ll experience speed, emotion, groove and sway. This one showcases the definition of our newly found ebb and flow structure.

Vitriol Lyrically: If left unchecked, anger tends to fester over time.

Whether it be directed at individuals, circumstances, or otherwise, this may build to a burdensome degree.

Vitriol is an introspective foray into the worthiness of allowing space for such feelings and actions, into one’s own life. It is a delicate subject, and we cannot be too hard on ourselves for succumbing to the allure of vengeful thought. Life can be difficult, and we are not always dealt a fair hand. However, it is important to note that in hurting others, we are often hurting ourselves. Regardless of how redeeming it may feel to be enacting a supposedly necessary retaliation. Such is the irony of Vitriol.

Emaciate Musically: is MUSICALLY very intense, driving and emotional. It was derived from the classic black metal feel and given the AOA treatment. Bludgeoning, catchy, technical, groovy. Emaciate is one of the most emotional and intense songs we’ve ever written. It features a very creative drum part that is almost impossible to play.

Emaciate Lyrically: It hurts to wither, emotionally. “Emaciate” is a metaphorical description of the feeling of watching oneself become increasingly jaded.

It is heavy. To yearn for the days in which you were more open to vulnerability, feared less, and had more cheer to bring to those around you, is a difficult experience. It promotes a painful awareness of the continuation of said decline, as well as a bitter sense of nostalgia.

However, there are always more sunny days ahead. There is always an opportunity to burn it all down and take your life back.

…And it will all end forever is musically: is MUSICALLY our most juxtaposed song. It’s up and down, and up and down. In the middle you will hear our most brutal and disgusting breakdown yet, then right back into beauty and emotion. The solo is hauntingly memorable, and the ending gives you a heroic feeling as the song climaxes and burns out.

…And it will all end forever lyrically: Every material has a breaking point. We as humans, are no exception. We too, have an elastic limit. Pushed far enough, we may break.

“…And It Will All End Forever” is an acknowledgement of a collision with the breaking point. A sublime release of pent-up emotions, held hostage by a patient tongue. The dam has broken, and a surrender has been made. Hate-free and loveless, in true neutrality.

Pride, gumption, and fortitude. Swept away.

FUN FACTS – STORY ANGLES

1.  Jack learned all the orchestration, samples, tracking, and extra sounds in order to get them in our album and our live set. He worked extremely hard to make his vision come to life.

2.  Fun Fact: Greg played two back-to-back sets on the sola pravitas tour and was burning up to 1400 calories a night. He played for 30 minutes with Art of Attrition and then 1 hour with Plaguebringer. Greg is also one of the few drummers who can do crazy left-handed gravity blasts while doing blazing-fast kicks.

3.  On our way to play Windsor, Ontario, the alternator went in the van. The boys pulled over and Jack and Johnny did an alternator swap right in the Canadian Tire parking lot.

4.  We did a straight shot drive from Gatineau to Saskatoon.

5.  Loud as Hell was a last-minute decision. Geoff was in a pinch and needed a support band for the night and we made it happen. One of our most memorable live performances: https://youtu.be/cXyo7gZQIb8? si=cE3RUyEyJjrzCulV

6. STORY: FORT TEMETOPE(The name us and Plaguebringer came up with) was an air bnb we stayed at in Winnipeg. The pictures showed this beautifully, well-kept home. It was not. The owner was a master photoshopper who obviously specialized in bait n switch techniques. The yard was un-kept, a musky smell in the home, followed by mold in the bathrooms, AND a used condom under one of the beds. Tired and completely disturbed we ended up staying the night until 8am in which a “air bnb representative” showed up to investigate. AKA THE OWNER. We also didn’t get a full refund for the place which was infuriating. The nickname of the tour will be forever known as the “Temitope tour of terror”.

Art of Attrition is a blackened technical deathcore band who separated themselves from the underground local scene with their 8-string barrage of dueling melodic guitars, gravity blast beats, intense guttural vocals, and epic orchestration.

Formed in early 2019, AOA wasted no time writing what would be their debut full-length album “The Void Eternal”. They released three singles and a music video in promotion of their debut record. “The Void Eternal” was released on September 22nd 2022 independently and was very well received by the genre’s fans and the metal community across the world. During the making of this record, Diego Fernandez of Oracle Studios provided drum recording and the mix and master of the entire album while all guitars, bass, orchestration and vocals were captured at home by the respective members.

Influenced by such powerhouses as Aversions Crown, Lorna Shore, Dimmu Borgir and Archspire; AOA defined their sound as the epic, melodic, fast and intense experience as demonstrated on their first record.

With multiple shows, festival appearances and a Canadian tour under their belt, AOA continues to demonstrate their talents and brutality live with the endearing hunger for more.

This year they are releasing their new EP “…And It Will All End Forever” on July 26, 2024. and it is pure chaotic inoculation. A culmination of everything AoA has worked so hard to achieve in one record. Now, they are set to write a bit out of their comfort zone and delve into other genres that they love. The EP is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and Gaerea.

0 Streaming Now! PARADISE IN FLAMES Conjure Death Metal With Brazilian Roots On New Album “Blindness”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 13, 2024

Streaming Now! PARADISE IN FLAMES Conjure Death Metal With Brazilian Roots On New Album “Blindness”

Since 2003, Brazil’s Paradise In Flames has been shattering boundaries and spreading its identity-filled sound infused with blazing notes of pure hatred to audiences far and wide. Their latest concept album “Blindness” is out on June 14th with its full stream premiere being presented now on Decibel Magazine HERE.

Coined as extreme philosophical symphonic protester metal, they have been honing their identity since their 2021 album “Act One” and have matured and improved since then, intertwining Brazilian bossa nova and folk elements with a direct reference to forró (regional Brazilian musical style), death metal and black metal.

“Blindness” tells the story of a philosophical work that portrays religion as a psychological illness, illustrating how men become blind in the pursuit of power. Lyrically, the songs revolve around a single plot inspired by the book by Jose Saramago. The musical structure creates an operatic scenario, where characters interact within a symphonic plot characterized by rapid pace and melodious themes. It is recommended for fans of Satyricon, Dark Funeral, and Batushka.

The band adds:

“This album proved to be the most challenging of our career, as it required a strong correlation between the music and lyrics. The concept was to have one set of lyrics for all 11 tracks, ensuring each song had a logical sequence while collectively creating an engaging atmosphere to captivate the listener. We believe that we successfully achieved our objectives with this album. In the physical CD and LP versions, listeners will be able to enjoy following along with the lyrics in hand, allowing them to seamlessly experience the album’s narrative in its entirety.”

“Blindness” will be out on June 14, 2024, and available from Xaninho Discos and Demoncratic Records.

ETERNAL DRAK Delve Into Dark History In The Black Metal Single “Haunting Place”

New Album “Imprisoned Souls” Out July 2024

Founded in 1997 by the Martínez brothers, Drakar and Warhammer, Eternal Drak has carved a path of sonic innovation and artistic evolution. They have released six turbulent albums thus far and have a seventh “Imprisoned Souls”, which makes its debut on July 17, 2024. The second single from this concept album is “Haunting Place”, which continues the historical story that the album tells. The band comments on the single:

“Although for many groove and black metal cannot go together, we believe that this is not true, and trying to attract the right audience we decided to release this song as the second single, a song in which the rhythm of the drums is the king and the Voices and guitars only accompany it, giving it melody and a black metal touch.”

“Haunting Place” is a catchy track with very groovy drums and a touch of thrash. The song describes the place where the vast majority of the anecdotes occur, a 19th-century house where many beings were trapped and the living were tormented.

With this release, Eternal Drak wants those who are already followers of the band to continue and evolve with them, although they know that their style is still mostly vintage and that with these groovy rhythms, they attract new followers who delve into the album to discover more. It is recommended for fans of Watain, Kreator, and Motorhead.

Montreal, QC – June 14, 2024

Out Now! UK’s DENDERA’s New Album “Mask Of Lies”

The UK’s Dendera is proud to unleash their new album “Mask of Lies” from Rockshots Records. The band has been on a steady rise while playing sell-out shows and festivals across Europe and in their home country along with supporting bands such as Sepultura, Queensrÿche, Saxon, Death Angel, Gloryhammer, Skindred, Rhapsody of Fire, and many more.

Expertly delivering modern melodic metal, Dendera’s combination of towering clean vocals and powerful screams along with unfaltering musicianship, energetic performances, and stunning choruses has rightfully earned them a reputation as a formidable band. Their steadfast handcrafted approach means they operate almost entirely self-sufficiently. This gives the band the ultimate edge when trying to hone their sound meaning they can push the best from themselves and always deliver professional results.

Following tough times after the COVID-19 pandemic and personal tragedy from within the band, Dendera has fought against the odds to record a stunning third full-length album. Co-produced by themselves and mixed by Alessio Garavello plus featuring a guest solo from Russ Parrish (aka. Satchel – Steel Panther), this album showcases Dendera‘s relentless vision to move forward, using the traumas of the past to write a powerful record that explores personal themes, grittier undertones that showcases their signature strong vocals and multi-layered songwriting approach.

“This album has been far too long coming from us, and we cannot wait to get it out. We really want our fans to hear how much we have grown and give them a treat. The time we have taken to do this has all been to make sure we get it right, and we think the end product reflects that.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Trivium, Parkway Drive, and Dream Theater, “Mask of Lies” is due out on June 14, 2024, and is available for album order at https://bit.ly/Dendera-MaskOfLies.

“The release is a must for all classic and heavy metal fans, but such is the new adventure and variety the band has woven into their songwriting and sound, there is much for all metallers’ including, us among them, those without an instinctive taste for old school roars. In fact, it very likely will, as here, emerge as a favourite of the year for fans and newcomers alike.” – Ringmaster Reviews

“Pillars Of Creation” is an excellent album and a strong follow-up to “The Killing Floor”. It is an album that urges you to hit repeat after every listen. With this album DENDERA have been successful in further developing their own sound and identity, and are improving with each release. The band already have an ever-growing fan base. With this release and their continuous bouts of touring, hopefully this will propel them further ahead of their peers within the Heavy Metal scene.” – Metal Gods TV

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 14, 2024

Ripped from the Bowels of Hell Comes MRSA’s Horrifically Theatrical New Music Video “Crystal Lake”

Prepare to be dragged kicking and screaming into the sickeningly dark world of horror films with MRSA‘s latest video single “Crystal Lake”. Fronted by the grotesquely charismatic Dean Corpse, they unleash a nightmarish blend of unrelenting music and horror theatrics that will leave you begging for more. They comment on the single:

“This a reworked version of said song from our last EP. We felt that this song is the perfect embodiment of what we as a band love to do! This track represents the hooks and brutal in-your-face music that we want to be known for. Along with the video we want to represent some of what we do live as well. As much fun as you are having watching this, we want to give the same energy live!”

MRSA doesn’t just perform; they immerse you in a full-blown horror show. Each performance is an unforgettable spectacle featuring scare actors, full effects, and meticulously crafted props. Expect sprayed blood, eerie fog, and spine-chilling lighting that drags you into the void of extremeness. No two MRSA shows are the same, ensuring an unpredictable and exhilarating experience every time. This dedication to entertainment bleeds through in the newest video.

“Crystal Lake” marks the first of many hellish offerings from their forthcoming album “Horrifier” set to be released later in the year on CDN Records. The album promises 11 tracks of pure, unrelenting death metal horror goodness, each song an homage to a classic horror film, blending old-school sound with modern extremity. Fans of horror and metal alike will devour these hook-filled anthems with glee, each track is a tribute to the films that shaped MRSA‘s twisted vision. The band is recommended for fans of horror and gore as well as those who enjoy Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, and Gwar.

Prepare to raise your swords and pledge your allegiance to the realm of metal as Denver’s Siege Perilous unleashes their latest single “Oathsworn” off their upcoming EP “Creation’s Call”, coming out August 23, 2024. The single is a thunderous anthem of loyalty and brotherhood, which will transport listeners to the heart of battle as the band explains:

“Oathsworn really highlights so much of what we as a band are about in one song. Firstly, it’s based on a major plotline from our Live-Action Roleplaying Game (LARP) and one that really shook the foundation of the world in which we were playing in which made it incredibly easy to transition into a great song. We really love the driving intensity of this song as it comes out of the gate swinging and doesn’t stop.”

“Oathsworn” tells the story of a world-ending evil that can only be stopped by going back in time to prevent its rise. It has darkness and epicness in equal measure and will suck fans into Siege Perilous’ fantasy world and share a dark adventure with them.

As the drums of war thunder and the guitars cry out in defiance, Siege Perilous rallies their fans to stand tall in the face of adversity. They beckon listeners to take up arms and march alongside the warriors of metal. Metalheads, raise your banners high and heed the call of the “Oathsworn”, which is especially recommended to those who enjoy Manowar, Iron Maiden, and Wind Rose.

0 Rockshots Records – STONE HORNS Unleashes New Video “Grasping the Embers of Exile” Off New Album “Chimaira” Out Now!

  • June 13, 2024

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC -June 13, 2024

STONE HORNS Unleashes New Video “Grasping the Embers of Exile”

New Album “Chimaira” Out Now!

France’s STONE HORNS unleashed their third studio album “Chimaira”, this past January on Rockshots Records. Featuring seven groove-laden hell-bent tracks, the full-length tells the story of an odyssey of being rejected by all and thirsting for revenge. It explores life’s thirst for recognition, whatever its form. Through its various acts, the story continues in different states, colors, and landscapes. A raw, merciless finality that leaves little room for breath in this torment of violence. We’re all chasing a chimera, but isn’t it the chimera that’s chasing us? That’s the question this album tries to answer, combining freshness and warmth, violence and peace, waves, and digressions.

With their headbanging groove, this third studio offering “Chimaira” is a culmination of all the band’s experiments to date. This is the band’s most accomplished album to date, both in terms of composition and production. The band’s long-time fans will be satisfied, but they also hope to bring in new fans with this record, with a slightly more modern production. Each track has its own universe on this full length, but it’s also part of a whole, because like their previous albums, “Chimaira” is a concept album.

“There’s something for every metal taste and color. The aim of this album is for fans of every sub-genre of metal to be able to say to themselves at some point when listening to it: “I really like that beat”. “Chimaira” is a bit like the child of “The Beast Inside” (2018) and “Rise of Apophis” (2021)”. says the band.

Today, the band is sharing their latest music video for “Grasping the Embers of Exile”, the longest track on the album and in the entire Stone Horns’ catalog. It is a brutal, hypnotic opening adventure that sets the tone for what’s to come. Probably the most melodic and progressive track on the record, it’s an ambitious composition reminiscent of some Machine Head pieces, punctuated by a magnificent solo.

Recommended listening for fans of Machine Head, Devildriver, Slipknot, Lamb of God, and Jinjer, Stone Horns’ third full-length is available from Rockshots Records on CD at https://bit.ly/ChimairaCD and digitally at https://lnk.to/stonehorns.

Quiescent Mantis, from Tennessee, USA, a hard-hitting progressive thrash metal trio with a history as intriguing as their music, is thrilled to announce the release of their new video single, “Primal Form of Aggression”, from their debut album “Here Comes The Swarm” produced by Yanic Bercier (Quo Vadis, Gone In April) at WaveTransform Recording Studio and due out on July 19th on Exitus Stratagem Records. With its aggressive riffs, relentless rhythms, and thought-provoking lyrics inspired by science fiction and real-life experiences, the single delivers manic whiplash. The band explains in further detail:

“‘Primal Form of Aggression’ is a song we wrote around something everyone has faced, the song is written around the anger when someone is purposely going out of their way to pick at you or pick on you just to get a reaction from you. Sometimes the reaction comes from a Primal form of aggression.”

Quiescent Mantis, comprised of former scientists Chris Trainor, Jordan McKenzie, and Johnny Mejia, emerged from an extraordinary origin story. While employed at Sub-atomic Weight Of Acceleration Research Mechanics (S.W.A.R.M.), the trio inadvertently opened a doorway to the mantis homeworld during a particle collision experiment.

Exposed to mind-altering pheromones, they transformed their scientific acumen into musical prowess, resulting in the formation of the band during the COVID-19 lockdown. Their unique blend of old-school and new-school metal techniques, combined with a deep love for science fiction, has set them apart in the metal scene. They are recommended for fans of Orbit Culture, Power Trip, Havok, and Pantera.
