The volume is rising, the amps are humming, and the West Coast is preparing for another massive metal takeover! Following an outstanding second year that featured Juno Award-winning Anciients, Vancouver heavy hitters Arrow in the Quiver, international guests The Rising Fall (Chicago, IL), and an impressive lineup of British Columbia’s top underground metal acts, MOSH THE ROCK ISLAND METALFEST is set to return bigger, louder, and heavier than ever for its third explosive edition.
On Sunday, August 8th, 2027, MOSH THE ROCK returns to the beautiful outdoor setting of Fred Milne Park in Sooke, Vancouver Island, BC, bringing together the heavy music community for another full day of crushing riffs, thunderous drums, unforgettable performances, and West Coast metal mayhem!
What started as a celebration of Vancouver Island’s incredible underground metal scene has grown into something much bigger. MOSH THE ROCK is becoming a destination for metalheads, music lovers, families, and festival-goers from across Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and beyond. And we’re just getting started!
Expect another unforgettable open-air festival experience featuring an awesome selection of bands bringing the heavy from across the West Coast and beyond! Special guest surprises you won’t want to miss! An incredible outdoor festival atmosphere, licensed beer garden, and food trucks serving up festival favourites, vendors, and merchandise. All-ages, family-friendly entertainment.
From crushing death metal and thrash to progressive metal, stoner, doom and everything in between, MOSH THE ROCK celebrates the diversity, passion and sheer attitude of independent heavy music.

The search for the next generation of West Coast metal begins now. Band submissions for MOSH THE ROCK 2027 are officially open through November 30th, with the festival seeking exceptional independent and underground metal acts from Vancouver Island, across British Columbia, throughout Canada, and beyond. If you’ve got the songs, the drive, and the live show to leave a lasting impression, MOSH THE ROCK wants to hear what you’ve got.
