EXTREMA Unleash New Music Video For Title Track Off New Album “Headbanging Forever”

“Headbanging Forever” Out Now! via Rockshots Records

Italian groove thrash metallers EXTREMA are sharing their new music video for the title track off their seventh studio album “Headbanging Forever” released this past May via Rockshots Records.

The video is a collage of clubs shows and festivals that the quartet performed this year. The band is now working on a tour of Europe to be announced at later date.

Guitarist Tommy Massara states:

“‘Headbanging Forever’ I don’t know a better way to explain what the path of this band has been over our long career, we have never reached the international greatness, but the attitude, the energy and the will to keep on doing honest metal is still all here. The words of the song catch exactly the essence of what metal it should be for us. The video – edited by our singer, Tiziano ‘Titian’ Spigno, and filmed by some of our crew members Steve Travaini, Kalo Mazzarisi and Emanuela Giurano, to name few – is a collage of some of the latest shows played from the band over the last year. No special effects, just a metal band on stage at its finest”.

Watch ‘Headbanging Forever’ at the following link HERE.

Featuring 10 crushing tracks produced by EXTREMA guitarist Tommy Massara & Gabriele Ravaglia. The album was recorded and mixed by Gabriele Ravaglia & Maxx Canali at the Fear Studio in Italy plus mastered by Alberto Cutolo at Massive Arts studios in Milan. For this album, the band enlisted Gustavo Sazes (MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, ANGRA, ICED EARTH, GUS G., AMARANTHE, a.o.) to create the album artwork.

Tommy Massara comments:

“It’s a 100% Metal Album that leaves the listeners breathless. The songs are well balanced, there’s a lot of double bass, tempo changes and screaming lead guitar solos like in the old days. The songwriting of the album reminds me of something classic with modern production.”

“Headbanging Forever” is available on CD, vinyl and digitally at the following link here.

Bio:

EXTREMA’s original line-up was established between 1985 and 1986 in Milan, Italy. In a very short time, the band led by guitars player Tommy Massara achieved a huge success. Tommy is the only remaining member of the original line-up, and over the years he also played the role of artistic and executive producer.

Hundreds of concerts made the band more and more close-knit and open towards a constant growth path, capable from the beginning of welcoming influences external to heavy metal, a consistent choice within an evolutionary framework which saw EXTREMA start from the rebellious attitude of MOTÖRHEAD to later incorporate the style of Californian thrash metal, a scene with which the band shared the utmost care for the technical side of music and a devastating presence on stage.

The band’s reputation as musicians and performers kept growing in a perpetual live context, with extensive tours and the participation to prestigious festivals with the likes of METALLICA, SLAYER, MOTÖRHEAD, and KORN, a.o.

Extraneous from the beginning to political and ideological implications of any kind, EXTREMA’s lyrics have always strived to alternate challenging and contemporary themes with lighter subjects, true to rock’n’roll form.

In May 2017 the band welcomed the new frontman Tiziano Spigno. Thanks to his entry, EXTREMA can finally release all the creativity repressed in recent years: a violent, direct and engaging approach which is – at the same time – also varied, courageous and experimental, resulting in the new album “Headbanging Forever”.

EXTREMA is:
Tiziano “Titian” Spigno – Vocals
Tommy Massara – Guitars
Gabri Giovanna – Bass
Francesco “Frullo” Larosa – Drums

Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, IRON KINGDOM is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when the genre was in its prime.

Now they are back with a new album “On the Hunt” due out on October 4, 2019, which is sure to remind people of the glory days of metal. With two new members in the lineup, there are new inspirations and approaches in the music while maintaining the traditional sound. They hope the album is well received by fans:

“We’re believing fans can expect the new record to be a lot more traditional in style, more accessible with a lot more rocker tunes, lots of catchy melodies and speed metal riffs, shorter songs, more packed with action, as opposed to the previous album with long epic passages. We wanted this record to include lots of great live tunes we can carry in our set for years to come!”

The nine new tracks are fun tunes that translate well into a live setting, which is paramount for IRON KINGDOM who take great pride in their live show. Fans of the classic including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche, and Helloween will revel in IRON KINGDOM who put a modern spin on traditional heavy metal.

Teaming up with Bravewords, the Vancouver heavy metallers are excited to share the exclusive premiere of their new music video and second single ‘Road Warriors’ at the following link HERE.

The band adds:

“Road Warriors embodies life on the road, it’s a homage to those who tour often, and at all costs to reach their fans. This song was originally made somewhat from our experience of rolling our tour vehicle back in 2015 in the Rocky Mountains.  We could have easily perished but circumstances allowed us all to survive.  After purchasing a new ride we kept on touring. With a new lineup, a new album, and now a new music video, we can’t wait to take this show on the road, Smell the rubber burn, as we meet our destiny!”

“On The Hunt” is due out October 4, 2019 and available for pre-order via the band’s online store here.

In additional news, the IRON KINGDOM will be be supporting the promotion of “On The Hunt” with a North American tour that will kick off in Vancouver, BC on October 3rd and take the band on a 2-month trek across Canada, the USA and Mexico, ending in Everett, WA on December 1st (dates listed below).

The band comments:

“Our upcoming ‘Road Warriors North American Tour 2019’ marks the beginning of a new era for Iron Kingdom, we’re returning to many of our favourite cities across the continent with a new lineup and a new album!  We can’t wait to see our fans and friends and perform ‘On The Hunt’ in a live setting.  It’s due time we make our mark across the land once again!”

BIO:

Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, Iron Kingdom is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when the genre was in its prime.

Formed in Surrey, Canada, in June of 2011, Iron Kingdom’s intent was to fill the gap of bands that are heavy, but not extreme, melodic but not mainstream, technical but approachable. ‘Curse Of The Voodoo Queen’ was released on Dec 14, 2011, and the band took the opportunity to tour western Canada, along with an appearance on the CTV Show, Canada’s Got Talent (viewership of 1 million on that episode). With the debut album finishing its cycle, the group decided it was time to record a new album, and by April 26, 2013, ‘Gates Of Eternity’ was released. Garnering strong reviews and attention from around the world, Iron Kingdom was invited to perform at Germany’s Keep It True XVII festival.

Following this massive milestone, Iron Kingdom set out to pursue as many opportunities as they could spending some serious time on the road through Canada in 2013, Europe in 2014, followed by a tour in the USA with California’s Night Demon. The band had created some major momentum and Iron Kingdom were spreading their moniker far and wide in support of the first two releases.

On July 30, 2015, Iron Kingdom released not one but two more albums, ‘Ride For Glory’, their 3rd full-length album, as well as ‘Unleashed At The Kraken (Live In Seattle)’, an exclusive live E.P. recorded on a previous tour.  The band set out on the road again in support of the two new releases. The tour was unfortunately riddled with many trials, including a vehicle accident that almost killed the band members. Life on the road continued, including a massive North American tour in 2016, as well as a tour in Brazil in a supporting slot for former frontman of Iron Maiden, Blaze Bayley.

As of 2019, with a new lineup and a new album ‘On The Hunt’ on its way, Iron Kingdom will once again be ready to take the world by storm and aid in the revival of the mighty and classic sounds of Traditional Heavy Metal.

“their latest work is the most refined Iron Kingdom album. One word obligatory item for old heavy school freaks.” – Power Metal Warrior (Poland) (Ride For Glory Review 2015)

“This is a tremendous throwback into the (first) golden age of metal.” – Merchants of Air (Belgium) (Ride For Glory Review 2015)

““Gates Of Eternity” could prove to be one of the most important discoveries in 2013 for U.S. Metal lovers.” – Rock Hard Magazine (Germany) (Gates of Eternity Review  2013)

“Sometimes you just want some glorious old school metal that makes you want to batter a dragon to death. Iron Kingdom are said band and from the opening track, At The Gates, I’m sold. When we reach Crowned In Iron we truly reach old school metal at its finest” – Sound the Charge (Scotland) (Gates of Eternity Review  2013)

“I want an Iron Kingdom/Voodoo Queen Baseball Tee so I can blast this album and try to sing along, banging my head and driving to the stadium in my Trans Am to drink cans of Bud in the parking lot before the Iron Kingdom show! I wish it was the 80’s right now.” –  Metal Titans (Canada) (Curse of the Voodoo Queen Review 2011)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 9, 2019

For fans of Blackened Death Metal, Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Abbath, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir

NECRONOMICON Release New Track ‘Singularis Dominus’ Off Upcoming Album “UNUS”

New Album ‘UNUS’ Out October 18, 2019 via Season of Mist

Montreal’s premier blackened death metallers NECRONOMICON are back with “UNUS”, the crushing and cinematic follow up to 2016’s “Advent of the Human God”. With each record NECRONOMICON has created in the span of their 31-year career, the band has steadily evolved in both sound and power; ‘UNUS’ is no exception to this.

The latest single ‘Singularis Dominus’ is ready to be unleashed and can be heard HERE.

Rob The Witch adds:

“For thousands of years, mankind has been believing in a murderous and treacherous false God that has done nothing because they doe not exist. I’m flabergasted that in 2019 some people still believe in this insanity. It is time for humans to become their own masters and reclaim their souls for their own.”

The track follows the band’s earlier released first single ‘Paradise Lost’ available to listen here.

‘UNUS’ is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambiance, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the orchestral prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres. Standout tracks like ‘Paradise Lost’ and ‘Singularis Dominus’ only solidify NECRONOMICON’s ability to continuously produce high-quality metal that’s just as dark and brutal as it is elegant.

‘UNUS’ is due on October 18 via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered here.

About:
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary grimoire, NECRONOMICON formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” in the deep, northern part of Canadian province Quebec, Fjord of Saguenay. NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled ‘Morbid Ritual’ (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. ‘The Silver Key”EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album ‘Pharaoh Of Gods” (1999) and the sophomore ‘The Sacred Medicines’ (2003) did even more to establish the band as a household name in Canada.‘Return Of The Witch’ (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Their steady advance around the globe grew considerably in impact by their next full-length “Rise Of The Elder Ones” (2013). By the time the band released ‘Advent Of The Human God’ (2016), they were met with international critical acclaim. Now, with ‘Unus’ out October 18, 2019, the band show that they aren’t slowing down and are ready to deliver another vicious strike! Prepare for the darkness to envelop you. In 2019, NECRONOMICON was presented with a certificate of honor for over 30 years of service via H.S. production/Tommy Tremblay, and the people of Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, making them the second band after VOIVOD to ever receive this honor.

– 30 –

“Best moments of BEHEMOTH and symphonic death à la GODFLESH APOCALYPSE while remaining entirely Necronomicon.” – Bravewords

“Advent of the Human God is a truly diverse album, perfectly balancing plenty of atmosphere with their iconic chugging riffs and pummelling blast beats.” – Exclaim!

“Advent of the Human God boasts both a Behemoth-like epic savage grace and Dimmu-esque orchestral pomp. But it also delivers a more primal ferocity and maintains the thematic air that has become Necronomicon’s forte” – Metal Rules

“”Their sound is akin to an Anti-Christ infant spawned from the blasphemous union of Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth.”” – Metal Underground

“The drums crash like Nordic avalanches on tracks like “Alchemy of the Avatar.” With its blazing jugular seeking guitar riffs and crazed piano breaks over top double kick drum insanity, this last song makes for a perfect ending to a blistering listen.” – Beatroute (AB)

“‘Necronomicon opened the show with a thoroughly impressive display of symphonic death metal… The best way to describe them would be a symphonic version of Winds of Creation-era Decapitated, with perhaps some Vital Remains mixed in. Lots of cool grooves and hair spinning moments!’” – Metal Injection (Live Review)

“Their brand of this style sounds far more refreshing and has a modern rock ‘n roll kind of aura to go along, slightly ringing in signs of alternative influence. The end result is as if Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy had a child born in the age of Chevelle. With that said, this is immaculate. ” – Indy Metal Vault

“Violent Nature kicks off with the slithering riffs of “Snake in the Grass,” which comes crawling up slowly before striking with a venomous fuzz-riffy attack, and a soaring, fist-raising chorus. “Weightless Light” gets my head nodding right away with a solid stoner rock riff, while giving off a pretty decent Monster Truck vibe in the chorus – I can see why they made it the pre-release single.” – Hellbound

“This is what music is about. When you put yourself out there, you connect with others on a deeper level and that’s always a win.” – The Music Below

“Violent Nature surpasses their debut and then some; the Rocky Mountain trio have harnessed the best of the past, given it a fresh coat of paint, made me smile and just enjoy rock and roll in its purest form…” – The Sleeping Shaman

“In order for a band like this to succeed they have to be really good at what they do, and Woodhawk is very much that. They stand somewhere between protometal and first wave metal. Not quite as heavy as Sabbath and not nearly as classic-rocky as Deep Purple. But you put this record on, let it play, and see how long it takes you to notice that your foot… It’s on my vinyl to buy list.” – Glacially Musical

“The music and lyrics are born from genuine experiences, transpiring to add depth and a satisfying quantity to each song. Overall, this means Violent Nature is a real piece of music in every sense. Definitely recommended for fans of metal, heavy metal, traditional heavy metal, hard rock/classic rock fans, desert rock, stoner rock, and blues.” – Mosh Nerd Republic

“going by the lead single “Weightless Light” it seems like whatever they’re making the songs about, Woodhawk still bring the same sense of songcraft to their material, which is always good to know.” – The Obelisk

” The title track “Violent Nature” seems to have quite a different time signature and is gritty and chock full of depth. The lyrics are dark, melancholy and Turner’s vocals are yearning, pleading. You truly get a sense of the gloom within the album without it becoming murky.” – Boston Rock Radio

The best Canadian metal of 2017: Top 15, according to Hellbound.ca – #13 – Woodhawk (Album – Beyond The Sun)

“Calgarian riff-riders Woodhawk kicked off the proceedings, hitting all the gritty notes with their raucous roadhouse metal. Propane and Jack flowed freely as the golden western trio woke all them witches with their thematic rock fury.” – Beatroute (AB)

“The riffs are so catchy you’ll be humming them long after you remove headphones and the songs are so good you will be craving the next chance you get to sit down and listen to them again.” – The Sludgelord – Beyond The Sun Review (May 2017)

“Taking influence from bands such as Kyuss, The Sword and Truckfighters. Woodhawk offer a refreshing style of Psych Stoner Metal with moments of Fuzz and Desert Rock that add extra grit to their music.” – Outlaws of The Sun

“Take Red Fang, The Sword and Witchcraft, strip them of nearly all distortion and add a canny knack for catchy as fuck riffs, with a psychedelic edge, and you arrive at the dusty doorstep of Calgarian stoner rockers Woodhawk!” – Worship Metal

“The title track really sums up Woodhawk’s strengths. It comes across as a synthesis of Mastodon (circa Crack The Skye) and Kyuss circa their spacey, proggy Welcome To Sky Valley. I just love this track; everything is just right, a really catchy song with a very modern mid-section.” – Hellbound

“If you are a fan of bands like Priestess, Red Fang, Truck fighters and so on, then these guys genuinely are a must for you to check out.” – Ramzine

“As I was walking into the venue, I began hurrying up the stairs as their sound captured my attention right away and was quickly swept up into their thick pulse thumping guitars and huge powerhouse drum sound.” – Vancity Buzz

From the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains hails Calgary, AB’s rock n’ roll trio Woodhawk. Masters of the straight-ahead riff rock, Woodhawk blends classic rock influences of Black Sabbath and Thin Lizzy with smooth grooves, cranked amps, and heavy-hitting drums. The coalescence of melodious vocals, catchy riffs, and dynamic instrumentation creates a vast soundscape for the listener to explore. With lyrical themes of science fiction and sorcery to more recent themes of struggles and triumph, Woodhawk wears their heart on their sleeve.

Woodhawk began in 2014 with the release of a self-titled EP, followed by the critically acclaimed full length “Beyond The Sun” in 2017. A melodically rich and varied album, steeped in science fiction themes and packed with undeniably catchy riffs, “Beyond the Sun” cemented Woodhawk’s status as a desert rock band with unlimited potential to break through into the mainstream. Rather than taking their freewheelin’ brand of lyrical chrono-metal into the comfortable bracket of factory-produced R’n’R, Woodhawk elected to explore the road less traveled.

Returning to Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, BC during February 2019, Woodhawk worked with Jesse Gander (Anciients, Bison, 3 Inches of Blood, Japandroids, Pack AD) to record their sophomore album “Violent Nature”. Over the course of 2 weeks, Woodhawk tracked their strongest effort yet, producing songs that address the struggles of mental health straight on, and laying it all on the line. Woodhawk’s new material abandons the world of fantasy in pursuit of emotional authenticity and self-discovery.

Our heroes’ quest for clarity and independence has landed them on the precipice of ambition and accomplishment. It’s a true turning point of entry for Woodhawk’s lofty yet assertive life-goals. The elegant anthems and pulsing chords of the next phase in the group’s sonic evolution can scarcely be contained. Grounded with one foot in the present and another in the dynamic future, Woodhawk’s outlook is as boundless as their command of their genre. With the new album due out on November 2, 2019, their intelligence, inventiveness and an uncanny knack for generating timeless tunes are ready to flood the senses and tug at the spirit with an easy-going nonchalance that embraces the audience with confidence and jean-jacketed arms.

Woodhawk features guitarist Turner Midzain, bassist Mike Badmington, and drummer Kevin Nelson. DIE ANOTHER DAY are one of Calgary, Canada’s freshest bands. Started in the spring of 2019 with a variety of influences, the quartet expands into multiple genres, getting fans excited to embrace different styles of music. Releasing their debut single ‘Broken Youth’ on August 28, 2019, the band gave a taste of what’s to come in a fun track that is creative, bouncy and upbeat. The single was mixed by Jesse Kopala along with being mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, He Is Legend, Scale The Summit).

The band is really proud of the single, which has plenty of energetic riffs, aggressive lyrics, and melodic harmonies that everybody can really enjoy and get into.

The band explains:

“We all really love the single and I’m hoping fans feel the same as we do about it. We’re hoping fans wind up being as excited about the single as we are. We’re a new band in town and we have a different style of music that other bands. Hopefully, we leave them wanting more and hyped for another single in the future from us.”

With primary genres being metalcore and pop-punk, DIE ANOTHER DAY is recommended for fans of Thrice, A Day To Remember, Billy Talent, and Avenged Sevenfold and anyone else that enjoys high energy music that inspires jumping, headbanging, and fun. The band is preparing more material along with touring in the coming new year.
