American sci-fi power metal duo DIRE PERIL featuring Jason Ashcraft (Helion Prime) and vocalist John Yelland (Judicator) are premiering their latest music video “Blood In The Ice”. The song is their third single off their upcoming album “The Extraterrestrial Compendium” due out November 9th, 2018 via Divebomb Records to follow their three previous EP releases “Astronomical Minds” (2013), “Queen of The Galaxy” (2014) and “Through Time and Space” (2015).
The band comments:
“We are pleased to release the first official music video. The song ‘Blood In The Ice’ is based on John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’, which is a personal favorite of our vocalist John. When writing this song it was the only one I didn’t have a movie chosen for and told him he’s welcome to choose the movie. I think it worked out great as the music really captures the essence of that film. For the video we decided to have some fun with it. John ended up writing a script for an original story that basically pays tribute to the film.”

“The album takes you on a journey all based on different sci-fi films. From fast aggressive right hand attacks (in style of Iced Earth) to softer acoustic passages.” adds Jason Ashcraft.

BIO:Dire Peril was an idea that goes as far back as Jason Ashcraft’s (guitars, bass) high school years. The band’s name was inspired by a PC game he used to play, called “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline”, which has stuck with him ever since.
Originally formed in 2009, the band went on to create three EPs: Astronomical Minds, Queen of the Galaxy and Through Time and Space, and proceeded to play a handful of local shows, as well as a few out of town gigs. In 2015, feeling like things just weren’t as they should be, Ashcraft decided to take a step back and take a hard look at where the band was headed.
Inspired by all manner of science fiction, especially classic sci-fi movies, Dire Peril regrouped as a double piece; Ashcraft was joined by singer John Yelland, and together they began working on the debut album titled “The Extraterrestrial Compendium,” set for release on November 9, 2018. Recruiting a live line up enabled them to start playing live shows including an upcoming North American tour with Seven Kingdoms allowing the American sci-fi power metal band to reach its final form and share their dark, aggressive adventure with the masses.

Test Your Metal Records: India’s OVERHUNG Making Canadian Debut @ Indie Week (Toronto, ON)

India’s rock ‘n roll lovers OVERHUNG will be making their Canadian debut at this year’s Indie Week in Toronto, ON. The band is slated to perform two shows, Thursday, Nov 8th at Cherry Cola’s and Friday, Nov 9th at Cavern Bar. In addition to their performances at Indie Week, the band will be performing select dates across Canada (dates to be announced).
Vocalist Sujit Kumar shares his excitement:
“In today’s age of instant gratification, Overhung is one of the best examples of long term dedication and perseverance. With our roots from ORLEM, a small little part of suburban Mumbai, this band is what dreams are made of. The band stuck together, wrote, recorded, released and toured, despite band members spread out across the world and a million other odds. Today, the band is the first and only band out of India playing at the prestigious Indie Week in Canada, a festival in its 16th year that features over 300 bands globally.”
More details on Overhung and Indie Week can be found at this link: http://canada.indieweek.com/overhung/
Influenced by Poison, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin , OVERHUNG‘s sound is all about loud, fun, sex, rum and rock ‘n’ roll. The band released their debut album “Moving Ahead” during February of this year on Test Your Metal Records. The full length was an electrifying 10 tracks capturing the band’s infectious energy to blast from the stereo speakers and give fans that classic glam rock n’ roll feel of the 70’s and 80’s. The band then later followed up the album with a new single entitled “King of Dreams” during the summer. The single was recorded, mixed, and Mastered with band members being spread across, 3 continents, 4 countries, 5 different studios and 6 different engineers.
As vocalist Sujit Kumar says “This is stuff dreams are made up of.”
“King of Dreams” can be heard at the following link: https://youtu.be/DmSthjxUOF4

About:
The steel seeds of hard rockin’ music find fertile ground all over the world. All races and religions embrace it. Music should become the new worldwide religion; we’d have moshing instead of wars! Good times!
The love of music is strong in India, and stronger than all in the splendidly named OVERHUNG who hail from Mumbai! The band owe their name to unique vocalist Sujit Kumar who changed Hungover to Overhung…which speaks even more volumes than their music!
OVERHUNG are making the most debauched melodic hard rock since Guns ‘n’ Roses released their classic ‘Appetite For Destruction’. With a successful debut full length ‘Moving Ahead’ under their belts set to be re-released in 2018 via Canadian label Test Your Metal Records, great live shows, and a planned follow up single entitled ‘King of Dreams’, OVERHUNG are ready to offer the world killer sounds coming straight outta India!
Influenced by Poison, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin , guitarist Howard Pereira describes their sound as “loud, fun, sex, rum…rock ‘n’ roll! We are about devolution not evolution! We are still doing late 80s and 90s rock!”
Pereira explains the very reason for OVERHUNG’s creation was when the members jammed “the energy was infectious and all of us wanted to write more kick-ass music with together…We hope that people are open to hearing our music in 2017. The band’s music is largely arena rock sounding, so at live gigs people just lose it and have a blast!”
You have to see OVERHUNG play because they have “insane live energy! Quite frankly there is no one like Sujit Kumar when it comes to live performances. He is shameless and you can’t take your eyes off him. His antics include table dancing, interacting with women (and men too sometimes), climbing everything in sight from light poles to bartops! It is engaging for the audiences. Also we deliver tight and fun glam-rockish sets that go down well!”
– 30 –
“A GREAT ALBUM by a band who learned the lesson from the Hard Rock Masters but looking to the future!” – Hard Rock Heavy Metal
“Opening up with the catchy number “Sex Machine”, Overhung’s debut album is a good first effort and should appeal to fans of Poison, Kiss, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses.” – Heavy Metal Time Machine
“Ten songs party addicted influenced by the 70’s and 80’s hard rock, the album itself is a thrilling work with glam rock lines.” – Rockers and Other Animals Mag
“They embody the sex, drugs and rock n roll attitude and spirt with songs like “Sex Machine”, “Must Drink” and “Casual Bitch”. The whole album rock’s from start to finish. These guys know what rock n roll is all about and without a doubt are on a mission to bring it back to the world. Get this album you won’t be disappointed. With bands like Overhung rock n roll will truly never die!!!” – The Dirty Room

0 FRACTAL CYPHER’s New Music Video Reaches “From The Above And To The Stars”; New Mini-Album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” Promises A Roller Coaster of Genres

(contact info below)
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – October 17, 2018
For fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Scar Symmetry, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot
FRACTAL CYPHER’s New Music Video Reaches “From The Above And To The Stars”
New Mini-Album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” Promises A Roller Coaster of Genres

Montreal prog quartet FRACTAL CYPHER are premiering their first single and music video “From The Above And To The Stars” on Prog-Sphere.com. The track is off the band’s upcoming mini-album “Prelude To An Impending Outcome” due out this coming November.
“This is the heaviest song on the record, it’s got lots of heavy guitar riffs, it has a Djenty vibe that is quite obvious all the way through. This track was influenced a bit from what we did on our past ‘The Human Paradox’ in terms of the balance between heavy riffs and melodies. On the lyrical aspect, the main topic of the track is about sci-fi stuff, talking about the possibilities of the existence of another civilization in the universe. We made the music relate to the lyrics in terms of chords choices and sonority.” – Fractal Cypher
Watch the video at the following link: http://www.prog-sphere.com/specials/fractal-cypher-video-premiere/
“Prelude To An Impending Outcome” is a 4 song mini-album produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation) that promises to be a roller coaster of genres across completely different sounding songs with intimate lyrics influenced by personal experiences. Each track has a different prominent genre influence from power ballad, blues, djent and jazz with the band’s heavy and melodic base as an anchor. The album artwork was done by Silent Q Design out of Montreal and foreshadows the moody and existential prog metal that lies within. Although this album is more intimate with different textures and influences, the reception to its predecessor should be a prime indication of the talents of FRACTAL CYPHER; this next release is sure to be a masterwork.
The band adds:
“’Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ is a mini album of 4 songs that are completely different from one to another to create a maximum roller coaster effect and make it non linear and interesting to listen to. The clash of style is more important and more obvious than our previous album, but the songs have gained in maturity in term of songwriting and sound. The vibe of this mini-album is really more intimate, due to the lyrics and the overall ambiance/universe of the songs. The melodic side of the band is still really present, offering catchy vocal lines and outstanding solos all over the songs.”
“Prelude To An Impending Outcome” is slated for self-release on November 8, 2018 and available for pre-order on the band’s Bandcamp here.
Track Listing:
1. Coming Back To Life (10:13)
2. The Grandeur Of It All (6:52)
3. From The Above And To The Stars (8:04)
4. Red Lady (9:30)
Mini-Album Length: 34:30

BIO:
Fractal Cypher exists to captivate audiences with progressive instrumentals that cut through the mesmerizing vocals and provide a new perspective on each listen. Straight out of the heart of Canada’s metal scene, these Montreal metallers constantly shift their compositions with seamless transitions and theatrical interludes to keep audiences on their toes.
Since 2014, Simon Lavoie (vocals), Ludovick Daoust (keyboard), Vincent Bruneau (guitar), Tommy Fradette (bass) and Steven Cope (drums) have been committed to a constant evolution; the powerful quintet is just as versatile in their music as they are in their musical interests, darting between djent and classic rock whilst anchoring on a power and death metal core.
Their debut album ‘The Human Paradox’ was released in September of 2016, with the follow up mini-album ‘Prelude To An Impending Outcome’ slated to be revealed in November of 2018.

Montreal, QC – October 16, 2018
For fans of Angelmaker, Carnifex, Veil of Maya, Impending Doom, Upon A Burning Body
CREATURES Kick It “Old Style F.A” With Music Video Premiere On TheCirclePit
New EP “II” Out Now!

L-R = Christian Roman – Bass, Vic Borowski – Guitar, Rob Esposito – Vocals, Nick Galati – Guitar, Tj MacKay – Drums
Unleashing their second EP “II” unto the world through their own independent label Old Haunt Records this past July, CREATURES are kicking it “Old Style F.A.” with their new video premiered on TheCirclePit.com. The video was filmed during the band’s hometown show in Toronto at the Bovine while they were on their Ontario tour this past summer.
The band explains the track:
“This song is a light-hearted story about a typical Friday night going out with your friends. Starting from the pre-drink at your house to hitting up the bar and ending up in a fight to back your friend up.”
Watch “Old Style F.A.” at the following link: https://www.thecirclepit.com/2018/10/creatures-old-style-f-a-music-video-world-premiere
Spawned in the Toronto murk in 2015, CREATURES is a group effort with a long history that intertwines the lives of numerous local bands to summon a truly devastating soundscape of unbridled chaos. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, CREATURES is a band playing heavy and catchy deathcore, taking intense sounds and mixing in small elements of extreme and black metal.
Their latest effort “II” reaches into a large porcelain cup of topics. Instead of just merely presenting their themes to their listeners CREATURES smashes the grail in their faces making sure their themes cut deep and stay with them. Whether they are lyrics about the futility of existence with a cartoon metaphor, or the bond of brotherhood within an intense party setting, there is a message for everyone to latch onto. Regardless, the songs are a visceral insight into the band’s life.
The band comments:
“The ‘Creatures II’ EP as a whole is the ideas and thoughts over the past year. We are expecting this release to be even better received than the last EP. We worked twice as hard on ‘II’ and had a few new people along the way that really helped add an outside perspective to the creative processes for a more mature and heavy sound. We really just want to create a seamless listening experience for the fans, leaving them wanting more, and left with the feeling of needing to listen to the EP over and over again.”
EP available for download and stream on Bandcamp and Spotify.

“a bridge between Mathcore and Deathcore! Interesting combination.” – Heavy Metal New York
“If you’re looking keen to re-live your Deathcore scene days, you might want to cop this release from Creatures, a Deathcore killing machine from Canada. ‘II’ is a 5 track EP playing in the vein of Veil of Maya, Impending Doom and Carnifex with some touches of Black Metal. “- Dissecting the Euphony
“The band’s Deathcore is both well executed and produced, and they push the right buttons to get this quite effective.” – Metal Norge

“The whole record is an adventure; the sequencing flows well from song to song and is bumpered nicely by an intro that sets the mood, plus an outro that gently brings things to a close, returning the listener safely back to their respective realities. At the end of the day, I definitely think Trollwar is onto something here; they are proudly waving the folk-metal banner and are destined for big things.”
”The vocals are abrasively savage, and the swirling keyboard melody is like ear heroin. I can’t help myself — the song pushes too many buttons for me to resist.” – No Clean Singing
“OATH OF THE STORM has a wave of well-written catchy songs, good production, lots of intensity and power as well, which is something some of the other bands lack. Since starting their quest in 2011, they have leveled past their folk roots and have taken a darker, more powerful path becoming more versatile and utilizing more inspiration from bands such as Wintersun and Luca Turilli. The symphonic and power metal elements continue to shine amongst the harshness of the folk and black metal with themes pulled from the works of Tolkien and Lovecraft.
Eager to etch their mark on the metal scene, their live shows are full of the brutality and energy that each one of them brings to the stage, albeit often times, in close quarters:
Playing with a myriad of heavy hitters such as Kalmah, Alestorm and Arkona and with an inventory of well-received releases: ‘Bloodshed Forges’ EP (2011); ‘Earthdawn Groves’ LP (2013); and ‘The Traveler’s Path’ EP (2017); Trollwar are working mightily to forge a new LP ‘Oath of the Storm’ for 2018, that will feature their trademark ‘symphony, brutality, darkness, ambiance, and power!’.
Oath of the Storm LP (NEW) (2018)
Distrollbar Split (2017)
The Traveler’s Path EP (2017)
Omens of Victory Single (2016)
Earthdawn Groves LP (2013)
Bloodshed Forges EP (2011)
Kalmah, Alestorm, Arkona, Seth, Necronomicon, Beyond Creation, Aeternam, Vesperia, Gone in April, Les Bâtards du Nord, Valknatch, Valfreya, Nordheim, Sanguine Glacialis.

Each gig promises to be a preview of the new album and a totally crazy 90’s death metal/noise core live experience. The East coast dates will have special guests The Blood of Christ and select West coast dates will include Blackwater Burial.
The band is ecstatic to be bringing the party to fans across the country:
“This tour is especially exciting for the Western Provinces, as every other tour attempt West has thus far been thwarted! Not this time! The party will be coming for sure so prepare yourselves for technical chaos and party grind!”

BIO:
Looking to become the band they never saw, Killitorous is comprised of the passion to grind and the general love of technical death metal.
Formed in 2006 in Ottawa, Canada; Killitorous is made up of current and former members of Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Annihilator and a myriad of other bands. Determined to sound like a combination of their one million favorite death metal bands they envelop technical death metal in an eternal party. A bit cheeky and a metric fuck ton of fun, Killitorous is that raunchy but charismatic friend who fuels every party.
Killitorous is a chaotic concoction, best described as technical party chaos death grind and it’s a true 90s death metal experience complete with one hell of an AfterParty!
