Vancouver Alt-Prog KOSM Announce Debut Album “Cosmonaut” Coming November 2018

Vancouver progressive metal band KOSM is proud to announce they will be releasing their debut album “Cosmonaut” on November 16th, 2018. Combining influences from Tool, Mastodon, The Agonist, Gojira and A Perfect Circle; their sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark in Vancouver’s metal scene and beyond with cover videos, and most recently with two singles “Ancient Heart” and “Space Mead”. “Cosmonaut” is an LP loosely based on themes from the H.P. Lovecraft and other with each song meant to walk the listener through a story from beginning to end. With even more material in the world and future albums planned, KOSM summons you to join them on this journey full of experimental and progressive metal.
The band explains:
“Cosmonaut is a concept album loosely based on the weird-fiction of HP Lovecraft, and borrowing concepts from the science-fiction of Frank Herbert, and Roger Zelazny. The album follows a cosmonaut on a cosmic journey through time and space; from the earthly confines of mortal life, to ascendancy as an immaterial and omnipotent being. The cosmonaut’s journey is essentially symbolic, serving as a commentary on the human experience: a journey from confusion and anger, to transcendence and self-understanding.”
KOSM’s current singles “Ancient Heart” and “Space Mead” are available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play.
For those in the Vancouver area, KOSM will be hosting their CD release concert at Pub 340 on November 17th with local support from OmnisighT, Truent, and Opus Arise. Event info here.

“The song (Ancient Heart) itself, which swings between some appetizingly heavy progressive riffs and aggressive growls and more melodic moments (with clean singing behind them). A tough band to place in that regard, but one certainly worth seeking out as they continue to expand their sound.” – DeadRhetoric

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT drummer Master Hercule “Herc” Schlagzeuger has put together a drum playthrough for the band’s track “Reaper’s Hourglass” being premiered on GeardGods.net. The song is off the American power metallers latest and 7th studio album “Shadows From The Past” released this past August.
“Thanks for taking a look my playthrough of Reapers Hourglass! For those of you who are gear-minded (and let’s face it, who ISN’T): My main kit is a Gretsch Renown and cymbals are a mix of Sabian and Zildjian. This is one of the more technical songs off our new album “Shadows From The Past”, but also my favorite to play. The song is SO technical, in fact, that I routinely have to manifest a wall of drum equipment to contain the sonic force!” says Schlagzeuger.
Watch drummer Master Hercule “Herc” Schlagzeuger boast an impressive stamina, following the gallops on the guitar throughout the entire song while holding down solid snare and cymbal work at the following link: http://geargods.net/drum-cam-2/lords-of-the-trident-reapers-hourglass-drum-playthrough/
A true spectacle to be witnessed, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT is a daring adventure metal quintet that has been delighting their audiences and fans all over the world for ten years. Continuing their epic quest of bringing spectacular and entertaining metal to global fans these power metal warriors unleashed their 7th album “Shadows From The Past” on August 3rd, 2018. The album was supported by a kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st and ended on June 29th. During that month, the band’s fans helped them surpass their goals to raise over $11,000 for the release. The band offered multiple packages and rewards that included merch, lessons from band members, festival tickets, private concerts and a copy of the video game Coffee Crisis that the band has partnered with to feature one of their songs for one of the levels along with band members as NPCs (non-playable characters).

Toronto’s Anthems In Ashes are premiering their second music video on PureGrainAudio.com, this time for the sassy and soulful single “Her Fire” off the 2017 EP “Burn it Down”. It’s a fun, energetic song with catchy melodies and lyrics with a true distorted rock and roll sound blended with a diverse range of vocals encompassing metal, punk and hints of soul. This well produced and artistic video brings fire to the genre, staying groovy and adding a sexy and heavy flair to it.
Vocalist Harley Olivia shares why it is her favourite song to play live:
“We chose “Her Fire” as a single because it demonstrates both our catchy groove and our heavier sounding elements, particularly with the vocals. I like the dichotomy of the soft, pretty sounding vocals descending into guttural monster screams. It’s a great balance of pretty and ugly.”

PSYCHOSTICK Announce “The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” w/ Downtown Brown, Danimal Cannon
New Album “DO” Out Now!

The kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK are hitting the road this coming October and November for “The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” with Downtown Brown and Danimal Cannon (dates listed below) in support of their new album “DO”.
This latest full length from PSYCHOSTICK was a surprise album that the laugh masters revealed to the world this past July during a live fan engagement webcast on Twitch (watch the video here). The album was four years in the making to follow PSYCHOSTICK’s extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance” and continues the band’s genius of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover.
“DO” debut #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th.
The band comments:
“Whelp, here it is! “Do.” This whole “surprise, nerd! New album!” experiment was extremely fun, and we’re beyond appreciative of your patience and understanding. We agree with you – four years is way too long. We hope to fix that despite what Murph says!
“Do” is our first 100% independent, label-free release since 2003! Our production process is still completely internal, but this time all profits go straight to Psychostick. This is extremely huge for us and we can’t thank you enough.
2018 marked the fifteenth anniversary of our first album, and we’re beyond excited that we’re still kickin’, making globs upon globs of comedy metal. We aim to do this until they kick us out of the old folks’ home or off of Mars. That’s right. We’re goin’ to Mars, damnit.”
Album CD order, digital download and streaming available on Psychostick Online Store, Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and all other major online retailers.

About:
Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.
Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released five full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014), ‘DO’ (2018) —and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic), Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

New Album “The Elder’s Anthology” Out October 26th On Test Your Metal Records

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, NC, based Rapheumets Well (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists. From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of Rapheumets Well’s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities.
Inspired by the fictitious universe of the Atai, Rapheumets Well have unleashed three albums over the years, Dimensions (2014), Exile (2016) and Enders Door (2017) that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of the Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse. Returning in 2018, the sci-fi metallers are releasing their epic “The Elder’s Anthology” on October 26th on Test Your Metal Records. The release is a trilogy of sorts featuring selective tracks remixed and remastered from their three previous albums.
The band comments:
“‘The Elder’s Anthology’ is a collection of songs (we felt) are important in re-igniting the lore of the previous albums. With new changes and new members, we felt it was important to transpose their skills into the foundation of the band. The Elder’s Anthology is re-mastered with updated guitars, vocals, and baselines and we fell this was appropriate for moving forward with the next full length album!”
Teaming up with NoCleanSinging.com, Rapheumets Well have a new video “Witch of Darkspire” to present to fans in two versions, one is NSFW uncensored and the other censored.
The videos can be viewed at the following link: https://www.nocleansinging.com/2018/09/25/an-ncs-video-premiere-rapheumets-well-witch-of-darkspire/
Rapheumets Well is also offering fans an immediate download of their tracks “Resurrecting The Blood Gate” and “The Betrayer” with album pre-order via the band’s Bandcamp here.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine
“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose
“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing
“The Exile brings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric
