NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 9, 2017

For fans of Satyricon, Dark Fortress, Septic Flesh, Necrophobic, Belphegor

Metal Injection Premiere HELLEBORUS’ New Single “Prayer Of The Undying”

Stirring the cauldron of black metal, blood brother duo Jerred & Wyatt Houseman’s HELLEBORUS unleashed their debut album “The Carnal Sabbath” in June 2016 via Satanath Records (Russia), Black Plague Records (USA) and on vinyl via Flesh Vessel (USA). They supported the album with festival appearances at Shadow Woods, 71 Grind, Black Mourning Light plus tours and show dates with bands such as Fleshgod Apocalypse, Cannibal Corpse, Taake, Cattle Decapitation, UADA, Destroyer of Light, Lotus Thief and more.

Taking a short hiatus to enter their studio dungeon, the brothers have a recorded a new single for fans entitled “Prayer Of The Undying” that they are exclusively premiering on MetalInjection.net.

HELLEBORUS comments on the track:

“This new single stands solitary as an offering to the Mother of the Night. The lyrics are a prayer or hymn of introspective nature reflected in the Orphic vein. We encounter symbolism of The Hanged Man and the essence of the Mandrake root. I use flowers as symbolic offerings similar to that of The Language of Flowers, a Victorian tradition. The man surrenders himself in attempt to gain enlightenment and the Mandrake is uprooted by the Divine Hand.”

“Prayer Of The Undying” can be heard at http://www.metalinjection.net/av/song-premiere/helleborus-new-single-prayer-of-the-undying-is-epically-hellish

A full stream of their debut album “The Carnal Sabbath” can be heard at http://helleborusblack.bandcamp.com/album/the-carnal-sabbath.

About:

Conceived within the womb of Execration, Helleborus is the latest emanation of Jerred & Wyatt Houseman. Like the enigmatic and deadly winter flower from which the project takes its name, Helleborus pushes the exploration of traditional black metal into the uncharted territory of sensual duality and mysticism. Building on their professional experience with Execration and personal experiences through Akhenaten, the Houseman brothers sought a deeper expression of their experiential-driven musical style that audiences can connect with through a union of opposites.

“We’ve always had a vision for the type of black metal project Helleborus would be. We wanted to explore and deliver a darker and yet more romantic side of black metal. There is an unknown side of metal that is masculine and powerful, yet sensual and respectful; controlled chaos.” comments vocalist Wyatt Houseman.

Album Band Line Up features: Wyatt (vocals, lyrics) & Jerred Houseman (producer, all instruments)

Live Band Line Up features: Brent Boutte’ – Drums, Jerred Houseman – Guitar & leads, Wyatt Houseman – Voice, Ian Horenman – guitar & rhythms

“Prepare your claw hand for one of the most evil releases of 2016! June 17th will mark the official release of Helleborus’ debut LP The Carnal Sabbath, but they are already on their way to winning the hearts of black metal fans around the globe.” – Metal Injection

“I regularly champion for the use of more pitchshifters in metal and Helleborus have granted my wishes. With a Wraith of the Ropes type quality in the vocals, they give tracks like “Coils” and the sinister “Colored Spores of Yuggoth” a bleaker edge, forgoing the expected high shrieks. Melodic overtones only provide a domineering sense of pure evil and have my eyes on Helleborus in the coming years.” – Loudwire

“I will forever embrace quality underground Metal, especially underground Black Metal. Helleborus have without question, tapped into my Black Metal psyche with their new song. I honestly cannot stop listening to Coils.” Metal Odyssey

“The chiming riffs and exotic lead guitar melodies in “Coils” do indeed generate an air of mysticism that surrounds the song, but the music also rocks very hard. The thundering drums and rumbling bass rhythms give the song a sense of tangible power, and the jagged, howling vocals cut like a serrated knife. It’s a bulldozer as well as a spellcaster. As you’re about to find out, the song is also catchy as hell, and it should hold special appeal to fans of bands such as The Devil’s Blood, Satyricon, and Belphegor.” – No Clean Singing

“I’ve always been interested in the dynamic of bands with siblings in the line-up. How those who shared so much of their entire lives come together creatively, the bond they have, how they work together, how things are managed when non-relatives are brought into the picture and so on and so forth. KEN Mode, Valkyrie, Gojira, Skeletonwitch, Obituary, Sepultura, Oasis, Heart…the list goes on and on. Now, you can add Colorado black metal entity, Helleborus to the list. Featuring brothers Jerred (all instruments) and Wyatt (vocals and lyrics) Houseman, Helleborus is a black metal band in the tradition of Satyricon, Septic Flesh and Dark Fortress” – Decibel Magazine

“This beast (Razor Blade Regrets) is a mid-pace rumbling steamroller pierced by shattering, acid-spewing shrieks and wild howls, and following a bridge, it punches into destructive nail-gunning mode as well. Heavy-grooved and battering, it’s an infectious, high-energy track.” – No Clean Singing

“Bringing a groove side of heavy metal and death metal, Nuclear Oath is giving you a punch and a dance with their new song and NSFW artwork ‘Razor Blade Regrets‘” – Musicology

“They were super professional from start to finish when they filled in on short notice for a show we had a cancellation on, including playing a wicked set of modern thrash that the crowd responded to big time. Would book them again. I’ve also played them on the air and will play them again on the podcast too. Thumbs up from CC Getty!” – C.C Getty (MetalHeads United)

“Nuclear Oath are a tight , high energy act with a professional attitude and good stage etiquette (in terms of set-up, tear down) and I’d be pleased to recommend them for a slot on Armstrong 2017” – Joshua Wood – CJSW – Megwatt Mayhem / Metal-Rules.com

“I really enjoyed working with Nuclear Oath when I booked them in Edmonton. They have an energetic and terrifying live show and great attitudes! “Hard as fuck no bull shit metal” – Mark Russell (Calgary Beercore/ Citizen Rage)

““Mother’s Milk” really is a head-spinner — a lurching, twisted, off-kilter, and thoroughly riveting display of vocal viciousness and instrumental pyrotechnics.” – No Clean Singing

“Slagduster deliver grooved rhythms, technical riffing, odd time signatures and pummeling vocals on new single “Peeping Ron”” – The Sludgelord

“an album packed with chaos and brutal disorder that is worthy of any mosh-pit.” – 925 Rebellion

“9 songs long, it doesn’t have time to get old or run out of imagination, something it has plenty of! Ending on the best song of the album, Untouchable. The ingredients combining here to give an exciting plate of metal that ensures you’re not going to be forgetting about Deadweight anytime soon.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“The entire album is a solid piece of work from its instrumentals to its lyricism. ” – Canadian Beats

“…their technical metal, with a lot of a-rhythmic patterns and mega-intensive guitar work, is very hard to find…an open, complex and adventurous album and is definitely a recommendation.” – Lords of Metal

“Slagduster are a sincerely unique proposition and these guys are anything but a deadweight, unshackled by the genre tropes that drag many a good band down and flying free in the process” – Worship Metal
