Vancouver, BC’s CRNKSHFT will be unleashing their new self-titled EP produced by Daren Grahn (Metallica, Hedley, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi) on March 24, 2017 to follow their 2015 debut ‘Hard Fucking Rock’.  Since the band’s formation in 2015, CRNKSHFT’s engine has been firing on all cylinders setting their scene ablaze with their explosive, drop tune aggression with melody at its core.  They pride themselves on writing raw, emotional music and when they perform with zero fucks given, what you see is what you get…a leave it all on stage attitude that gets fans fists pumping, head banging and singing along to the band’s anthemic melodies. The band has already been tapped as local support for such touring bands as Prong, Grim Reaper, and The Veer Union.“We’re not a band that’s going to give you stage props and fake blood and shit, we’re going to give you an emotional rollercoaster, it’s not just straight metal or straight rock, it’s a mixer of everything in between, the songs have tonnes of dynamic, and we push for people to get caught up in it.”

Influenced by bands like Alice In Chains, Five Finger Death Punch, Pantera and Godsmack, CRNKSHFT have carved out a sound in the vein of Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge plus Black Stone Cherry and are ready to shift gear to full speed.

Teaming up with PureGrainAudio.com, CRNKSHFT have some ‘Old Habits’ to brush off onto fans with an exclusive FREE download of their second single at the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/crnkshft-old-habits-free-song-download

CRNKSHFT is also streaming their first single ‘Systematic’, which has already won ‘Best Metal Song’ by the Academia Awards Academy in Los Angeles, demonstrating the band’s punishing high octane sound is ready to win over the masses. Listen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8nMR5NEi90

The wrecking crew comments on the forthcoming EP:

“Our new EP is a beast; we are really excited to showcase our melodic side. The four songs should touch a wide demographic of fans, which is what we want. We aren’t looking to be defined as just a heavy metal band, but as a hard knocking punch to get anyone going. We’re accepted by all those who listen to metal and rock. The whole idea of CRNKSHFT’s music is that we’ll be enjoyed by fans across a variety of genres.”

Vocalist Shane Jolie adds about the lyrics:

“This EP is pseudo political, but also has songs about heartache and emotions, it’s not a story from start to finish, and each song has its own message. It’s an EP to show the world who we are and what we’re all about. My writing is dark, ideas came from depression and anger, sometimes when I’m happy, but mostly not and it’s still very true to this day. I want people to take whatever they can from the listening experience of our new EP. Music always helped me out of my funks and I want CRNKSHFT to do the same. Let it be accessible to all people and all feelings.”

Mark it down on your calendar; there is no stopping the CRNKSHFT freight train. Their self-titled EP will be available on iTunes, Bandcamp, CD Baby, Spotify and all major online retailers as of March 24, 2017.

For those in the Vancouver area, CRNKSHFT will be hosting their local CD release show at Hindenburg on March 25th with support from Bone State Rebellion, 2 Shadows and Porcelain Sky. Full details can be found here.

“”For those that like their music fast and powerful, this is the appetizer for you. It’s all kinds of mad power…an epic little album from a band that is close to conquering the universe… or at the very least, close to setting it aflame.” – 925 Rebellion

“Opener ‘Systematic’ will testify to this with punchy and growling riffs and equally growling vocals which somewhat draw you in and immediately your foots a tapping and your head is banging, as the air guitar sits proudly on your lap as you ‘Systematically’ scream and roar to the vocals which if you listen closer also have a story to tell.” – We Rock Webzine

“CRNKSHFT’s forthcoming release sells me on the group’s ultimate potential. I look forward to hearing what else this Canadian band can do. ” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

“Stomping drop tuned leads, soaring vocals and hard-charging grooves litter the lead single, a formula that pays off in spades on the riff-tacular “Tears Me Apart,”” – Get Exposed Music

“these guys have a running start to the hard rock scene, and if their message and sound stays in their current vein, there’s no denying that this band will put a crankshaft kick-start to this year’s list of burgeoning, fantastic new artists.” – Shockwave Mag

“the four tracks are full of grunge influences and a killer  metal delirium that will capture your heart ,and ignite your mind. “Systematic” kicks the release off in fine style ,with its bludgeoning , punishing riffs its easy to see why this was the band’s first single, the lead guitars strings are flayed as the guys will have you banging your head and bouncing around the room this is a stylistic killer opener.” – The Metal Meltdown

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 17, 2017

For Fans of Chris Cornell, Audioslave, Jack White, Pearl Jam

Out Now! Hamilton Rockers RADIO FREE UNIVERSE Debut Album ‘Casa Del Diablo’ (Jetpack Records)

Show Dates:
March 25 – Hamilton, ON – The Casbah (info) (CD Release Show)

We live in a world where everything, including music, is itemized and made into a genre (indeed the sub-genres grow daily!). Yet rock is all about rebellion plus rejecting norms and Hamilton, ON’s marvelous award nominated RADIO FREE UNIVERSE are very much their own creation. In vocalist George Panagopoulos’ words, they are “genuine, honest, heavy, sonic…liberating”.

Panagopoulos explains liberty is a big part of the inspiration behind RADIO FREE UNIVERSE’s unique name.

“It is inspired by Radio Free Europe, which began as part of the resistance against tyranny in World War 2. Now it’s journalists report the news in 23 countries where a free press is banned by the government or not fully established. We apply this to our music. Trying to break free of the chains of genres and just focusing on the song and serving it.”

RADIO FREE UNIVERSE’s debut album ‘Casa Del Diablo’ is now available as of March 17th, 2017 via Jet Pack Records and features twelve infectious rocking tunes. The band’s first single ‘Disclosure’ is currently hitting radio across Canada plus free for download exclusively on PureGrainAudio.com here. Their second single ‘American Gun’ can also be streamed here.

‘Casa Del Diablo’ was mixed and mastered by Glen Robinson (Voivod, Gwar) along with him producing tracks American Gun, Disclosure, 18 Wheels and Six with the rest of the release produced by RFU vocalist George Panagopoulos and Mark McMaster.

Breaking down the album, vocalist George Panagopoulos also explains:

“I spent a good deal of time living in the US.  It’s a vibrant real culture from coast to coast. I don’t believe in the devil, but I do believe that people trap themselves in things.  The enticement of pleasure and wants that the country truly offers a great deal of opportunity, but it’s also lined with a thirst that is unquenchable. Money can be good, but in the United States it fuels every fire. The country has literally become an evolved beast that feeds of people’s desire and fear.  Everything you can think of corruption wise is alive and thriving there. As well as every great innovation and creative spirit. This album is about those things combined with my experience there. At the same time it’s a celebration of sorts.  No song judges any one at anytime. Nothing says this is bad or that is good. It’s just an observation. Example ‘American Gun’ is one of those tracks that work for people who don’t like them and people that do. All the songs are observational not so much political. The most amazing thing about that country is with all that going on you find people who are happy and full of love. That’s amazing if you think about it.”

Prior to preparing for their debut release, RADIO FREE UNIVERSE has made quite a name for themselves on the live scene in Southern Ontario and greater Toronto area since their formation in 2010. In their hometown of Hamilton, ON, they’ve performed at the Hamilton Music Awards plus have been nominated twice for Recording of The Year. Other appearances by RFU include Canadian Music Week, Lock Street Festival, NXNE, KOI Fest and Big Music Fest ft. Aerosmith, Bryan Adams and Slash.

‘Casa Del Diablo’ is available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Archambault

“This is authentic and real rock music. Vocals that speak to listener, amazing lyrics that leave a deep and lasting impression. All surrounded by credible hooks that layer the music in bliss. Radio Free Universe live is proof that it can be done. They are a thrill to watch live, and a very dangerous act to follow, a must see for any music lover. This is band is the very thing that makes us all want to be rockstars. I urge you to find them.” –  LA Weekly

“Radio Free Universe are bluesy, heavy on the guitar riffs, and packed with forceful, driving drum beats. Sure, this is the setup for many hard rock rock albums, but Radio Free Universe are different. The thing that separates these Canadian rockers from the rest of the stale pack is the sort of retro nostalgic feel they are able to hone in on. It’s just awesome and affords their music a special classic rock sound with a modern twist.” – PureGrainAudio

“Call it a resignation to the powers of the cosmos or a rock and roll revelation but when Radio Free Universe plays, it’s best to just to be a part of the moment and let destiny have its way”. – View Magazine

“I was impressed with every musical nuance this band presented. Great guitar riffs, driving rhythms produced by the bass & drums , giving the illusion of a rolling freight train. All this is highlighted by a seasoned front man reminiscent of rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple & Black Sabbath. Some of the tracks I heard inspire the audience to sing along while others relate specific stories.” – The Hamiltonian

“Radio Free Universe struck gold at the Horseshoe Tavern Monday night, putting on a fierce and bold rock n’ roll showcase performance. Stopping you in your tracks with a wickedly large vocal by front man, George Panagopoulos; his voice is layered and carried by pure rock n’ roll sounds.” – Deli Mag (Toronto)

“Talk about a last-minute addition to our list! We just discovered this band in mid December as they were opening up for White Cowbell Oklahoma at Lee’s Palace and they became an instant favourite of all our editors. Zeppelin infused riffs and rhythm this is one band we want to see a lot more of in 2016. Singer George Panagopoulos looks and sounds like Sammy Hagar and we can’t think of a better compliment to bestow on a rock band front man.” – Tmakworld

“their latest single ‘Gunn’ is a no-nonsense, hard-hitting rock anthem, firing shots at disloyal friends from days gone by. Montreal, QC – March 16, 2017

Sweden’s KREHATED Unleash New Video ‘Awaken Ignorance’

New Album Out ”The Venomous Mind’ via Zombie Shark Records

Stockholm, Sweden’s KREHATED have released a powerful new music video for the song “Awaken Ignorance” taken from their latest full-length album, ‘The Venomous Mind’. The video was directed and produced by David Andersson, Dennis Andersson & Johan Hallman. The lead actor portrayed in the video is Andreas Vrenning.

The video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSNrslXR1IkKrehated recently inked a deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new label founded by Noah “Shark” Robertson, (Motograter, Ex-The Browning). The band wields a devastatingly heavy, groove-oriented sound that is reminiscent of nu-metal-era bands such as Chimaira, Slipknot, Korn, Machine Head, Pantera, and Sepultura.

The band recorded their feature full-length album ‘The Venomous Mind’ at JV Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. It was mixed and mastered by Christian Svedin (The Unguided, Vildhjarta, Imminence). The artwork was created by Tomas Lacke; with additional artwork and logos provided by Gustavo Sazes and Henrik Englund (Scarpoint, Amaranthe). The song “The Parasite” features a guest appearance from Richard Sjunnesson (The Unguided, Ex-Sonic Syndicate).
“We all have demons inside our heads. It doesn’t matter how successful you are, how wealthy you are or how sane you seem to be. Everyone has been through rough times at some point in their lives and then carried around the aftermath… demons or venom in their minds. ‘The Venomous Mind’ is all about that. Our inner demons. Our inner fears. Our infected minds. The world of today is a disgusting place at times. This world brought us this hate. This world created us. We are the KREHATED.”

“Striker gush with so much enthusiasm here, with explosive riffs swirling between the vibrant harmonies and choruses, that it’s hard not to notice…Tracks like “Former Glory” and “Born to Lose” are anthemic, catchy as hell and feature soaring vocals from Dan Cleary and terrific guitar work by Tim Brown…On Striker, the band take a host of influences and hone them into a sound they can call their own.” – Exclaim!

“When a band releases an eponymous album it’s a statement of intent, a sign of confidence, everything being as it should be. For make no mistake, Striker are a special band. As the old Metal Gods ascend to Valhalla, new gods will arise. This is Striker’s fifth album and it’s just timeless. Not retro, not looking back, but taking everything that’s uplifting and glorious about heavy metal into 2017 and beyond…this album has to be in every writer and fan’s top ten at the end of 2017.” – Hellbound

“A less balls out, more aggressive record than its predecessor, STRIKER delivers another impressive collection of high energy headbangers….Regardless of what your heavy metal predilections may be, STRIKER offers something for everyone. Super catchy tunes dripping with shred gymnastics and all around technical prowess, Striker deserves a place on any metal fan’s playlist….If you have not experienced Striker yet, this album is a worthy place to start and should appeal to a wide range of fans, particularly followers of the Priest, Anthrax and Maiden.” – Metal Rules

Toronto hard rockers UFORIA will be taking their latest EP ‘Fight or Flight’ across Eastern Canada this coming April and May for a nine city tour across four provinces (ON/QC/NB/NS). The tour is presented by PureGrainaudio.com and will begin on April 25th in Oshawa, ON and wrap up with a performance at the Homegrown Festival on May 6th in Kingston, ON.

UFORIA has been a force in the GTA and southern Ontario over the years. Their third EP was released during July of last year and was produced plus co-written with Finger Eleven drummer Steve Molella. The title track has been a common sound being played regularly at the Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays games throughout the 2016 season.

“Steve has had a massive influence on myself and Uforia,” says Ursini. “He worked his butt off to make each song reach its maximum potential. I’ve learned more about songwriting and recording in the last year than ever before because of his talent and energy.”

The aggressive and riff-laden title track, which is also the lead single is about the struggle of making difficult decisions. “It was originally conceived after Adam Adam Brik, our lead guitarist hit a tree and dislocated his thumb in a snowboarding fall,” explains Ursini. “He was in so much pain and didn’t feel he could wait to be rescued. In that moment he made the choice to get himself down the mountain and seek the medical attention he needed.”

The EP continues with “Radiation”, a warning that ecological change is inevitable and we must embrace it and evolve in order to survive. “Wake Me” is about the struggle to wake up and escape the darkness of a dream world, while “Overthrow” encourages listeners to be patient and to take control of their own destiny when the moment is right. The EP closer “Is Anybody Living” is a track about facing your fears, particularly the fear of change.

Uforia’s previous releases include the debut EP Imagining (2012) and the fan-funded follow-up Transmutation (2015). The band has won a number of contests including the Hard Rock Rising Canada contest (2013), the opportunity to open for hometown heroes Billy Talent (2014) and the Jack Daniel’s Supporting Act contest (2016). “Fight or Flight” ranked #4 on the best songs of 2016 at CJIM Montreal’s Rock Station and 91X in Belleville. Oshawa’s 94.9 The Rock FM featured Fight or Flight (EP) on the Best of Generation Next 2016.

UFORIA first began as a solo project by front man Michael Ursini (Singer/Songwriter/Rhythm Guitar), which over the years has morphed into a talented four-piece of hard rock that has released three EPs since 2012. Influenced by bands like Billy Talent, Incubus, Finger Eleven and Our Lady Peace, among others, the group also consists of Adam Brik (Lead Guitar), Daniel Salij (Bass) and Dylan Piercey (Drums).

“This title track (Fight or Flight), in all of its gritty and tenacious swagger, smacks you in the face and demands to be listened to.” – Canadian Beats

“packing a powerful punch with no filler” – Some Kind of Media

“Uforia have released a tight collection of excellent songs and with the re-appearance of other Canadian guitar acts like Billy Talent and the aforementioned Finger Eleven  into the mix  we could be in for a renaissance in Canadian rock music.” – The Green Room Podcast

“I must say that this band definitely picked a great name for itself. We all know the definition of Euphoria; a feeling or state of intense excitement or happiness. This is exactly how the band portrayed themselves on stage. I was impressed by their stage presence….I see a bright future for this young talented group of musicians. They have great supporters and music mentors on their side. Please check them out when they come to a city near you.” – Concert Addicts

“It’s hard to fake understanding and desire. You get it or you don’t, you want it or you don’t. Uforia definitely has it.” – Steve Molella (Finger Eleven)
