SOMETHING MECHANICAL Premiere ‘Gunn’ On PureGrainAudio; New EP ‘Less Than Human’ Out March 17

Edmonton, AB’s SOMETHING MECHANICAL will be releasing their new EP ‘Less Than Human’ on March 17, 2017 to follow their 2015 self-titled debut album. Inspired by Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Days Of The New, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, vocalist/ guitarist Colin Pearce describes their music as “original, honest, blue collar, catchy and straightforward!”

The band pulls no punches whatsoever when it comes to the theme of their music. “Rebel! Stand up for yourself. Fight against the seemingly inevitable normality of the world. Be your own person on your own path whenever you can.”

Pearce feels that ‘Less Than Human’ will be well-received with its five hard hitting tracks.

“We really trimmed away the fat, so to speak, we focused on each song more fully and our fans will be able to hear that.  We’re happy with it and we think they will be too.”

Leading up to the EP’s release, the rockers have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com to premiere their first single ‘Gunn’.

“This track is about a time in my life when I thought I had a lot of friends, but it turned out they weren’t real friends.” says Pearce.

“These guys are a fantastic unit as they put their hearts & souls into what they do! … A very raucous & highly spirited band!” – Way Out Radio

“their latest single ‘Gunn’ is a no-nonsense, hard-hitting rock anthem, firing shots at disloyal friends from days gone by. The gritty vocals, driving rhythm and furious guitar work is sure to appeal to fans of the classic grunge sound, as well as of modern hard rock heroes such as Shinedown and Alter Bridge…their upcoming EP is going to be a real force to be reckoned with. If you’re looking for some straightforward, in-your-face rock then look no further.” – Belwood Music

He pulls no punches whatsoever when it comes to the theme of their music. “Rebel! Stand up for yourself. Fight against the seemingly inevitable normality of the world. Be your own person on your own path whenever you can.”

Names have power, a certain metaphysical magic that adds muscle and mystique to the music, as Pearce reveals the origins of Something Mechanical’s unique identity.

“I was thinking about life and how everything becomes routine and people just go through the motions. We wanted to write about rebelling against that fate and that really is what this band is about.”

Pearce feels that ‘Less Than Human’ will be well-received with its five hard hitting tracks. “We really trimmed away the fat, so to speak, we focused on each song more fully and our fans will be able to hear that.  We’re happy with it and we think they will be too.”

Something Mechanical’s deep passion for their music permeates every note they play. “We like music to be direct, so you can just put it on and sink your teeth into it right away! Then after a while you notice the messages that are underlying. That’s the goal. Good music to listen to and a deeper thought to sit with it.”

Live, Something Mechanical’s music is even more intense. They try to respect the audience’s time as much as possible. They run a tight show, with few interruptions, as close to non-stop music show as they can because people come to hear the music, not their deep, dark thoughts on life.  Overall it’ll be a fun show and memorable to walk away from.

Something Mechanical’s new EP ‘Less Than Human’ will be available iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and all major online retailers.

Track By Track explained by vocalist / guitarist Colin Pearce:

1. Gunn – A time in my life when I thought I had a lot of friends, but it turned out they weren’t real friends.

2. Less Than Human – Government, corruption and apathy. What are you letting happen to you?

3. Needful Things – Consumerism, consumerism, consumerism… and how nothing is made to last.

4. In Shadows – This one is a bit theatrical. I scared myself watching documentaries about killer celebrity stalkers and how they think/ their delusions.

5. Pretty Misery – Hope in the darkness. It sounds cheesy, but people are often their best in bad situations. You find out what matters to you. You get focused on what matters.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 17, 2017

For Fans of Killswitch Engage, In Flames, Alexis On Fire, Cancer Bats, Five Finger Death Punch

Out Now! ALL ELSE FAILS ‘The Forever Lie’; Full Stream On PureGrainAudio

Original Line Up Reunite For 10 Year Anniversary Show

Music Video ‘The Sons of Plenty’

ALL ELSE FAILS’ new EP ‘The Forever Lie’ just doesn’t mark the band’s follow up to their 2013 award winning EP ‘Fucktropolis’, it celebrates their existence for the last 10 years annihilating Canadians from coast to coast along with their recent first international tour of India where they performed at the Unmaad Fest and the Alcheringa Fest (tour diary on Decibel Magazine here).

Also in celebration of AEF’s 10 years, the original line-up will be reuniting for the band’s CD launch show in Edmonton, AB on Feb 18th at The Forge on Whyte (info) to give local fans an exclusive night to remember.  For those who can’t be there to hear ‘The Forever Lie’ live, ALL ELSE FAILS have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for the full stream at the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/stream-the-new-all-else-fails-ep-the-forever-lie-now-exclusive-premiere

Vocalist / guitarist Barrett Klesko comments:

“ALL ELSE FAILS have a surprise for everyone this Saturday! To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, the Original AEF lineup is going to get together for the first time since 2009 to play a few songs off our old albums! We may be older, we may be fatter, we may be dumber, but we definitely have more tattoos. I also want to mention, we literally couldn’t have done it without our fans support during the crowdfund campaign that made this all possible. I think it’s our best disc yet, and can’t wait to hear what you all think.”

‘The Forever Lie’ continues the Edmonton band’s aggressively dark brand of metal that breaks the traditional ideals of their genre. Drawing comparisons to bands like Killswitch Engage, In Flames and Of Mice & Men, the band infuses their music with a variety of elements that includes experimental, classical, synth lines plus spoken word sampling to accent a unique blend of heavy as hell screams and shiver inducing clean vocals.

“They are by turns pissed and melodic, speedy and anthemic – but always organic sounding….their song “The Sons Of Plenty”, a tune that encompasses all those things and demonstrates what the band is capable of.” – Gear Gods

“Guttural heaviness + impacting music = You’ll like it!” – CFMU 93.3 FM – Master Radio (Hamilton, ON)
