it’s certainly sounding like its defcon 1. Bestial, unbridled and unrelenting in all its thrashing glory, the old gods may have met their match.

New Noise Mag Song Premiere THIS GUN FOR HIRE ‘Good Evening Deacon’

Debut Album ‘Something A Little More Sinister’ Out March 31st

Vancouver metalcore tycoons THIS GUN FOR HIRE will be unleashing their debut album ‘Something A Little More Sinister’ on March 31, 2017. The band recorded the release with engineer and producer Roger Swan (K-OS, Battle Axe) to present their first clutch of original songs to showcase to the world. The twelve track release displays a keen awareness of pace and dynamics. Moving deftly from the seething chaos of the eponymous opener to the grandiose and melodic epic of “To The Fallen And The Faithful’, and back again for the staccato grunt of ‘Barn Burner’ to finish the record, THIS GUN FOR HIRE leave you in little doubt as to their capabilities.

Teaming up with New Noise Magazine, THIS GUN FOR HIRE is proud to share their first single ‘Good Morning Deacon’ as introduction of what’s to come.

The band comments on the track:

“‘Good Evening Deacon’ was written about an encounter that was had with a young man that was at the end of his rope. When traveling home one evening, Deacon was happened upon while on the other side of the Granville bridge, ready to leap to an untimely demise. After hours of gentle talking and coaxing, he was talked back to safety on to the other side of the railings.

This song is in his honor, and dedicated to all those who feel the misery and loneliness is too much to bare. Even when things seem their darkest, waking up over and over to the same heartache, and life is repeatedly stomping on you, intent on driving you down; there is hope. And sometimes the love you seek will come from people you’ve never met, showing you your life does in fact matter and things will get better. This song is for Deacon Braun. I hope happiness found you.”

Easy to see from the pointy band logo and sci-fi/nuclear disaster cover that these nine tracks showcase a set of musicians that mean business, incorporating technical proficiency and relentless adrenaline-fueled tactics to develop a potent cauldron that destroys everything in its path.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 20, 2017

For fans of Dream Theater, Tool, Yngwie Malmsteen, Animals As Leaders,Van Halen, RacerX

Out Now! Vancouver Prog Virtuosos OMNISIGHT Release New EP ‘Power of One’

Bringing progressive metal into new dimensions especially for those who really enjoy full explosive adventure, Vancouver virtuosos OmnisighT are giving the world the ‘Power of One’, the latest offering to showcase their highly regarded musicianship and finely wrought song-craft.  ‘Power of One’ as a whole is a musical journey with a story concept to question the status quo and stand up against the oppression plus deceptions of the ruling class.

Drummer Chris Warunki comments on the release:

“The Power Of One is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. Guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists will all have something in-store for them here with this EP. We are excited to get this out to the prog/rock/metal masses both musically and lyrically. Speaking of lyrically, the album will come with a PDF booklet exclusive to our Bandcamp supporters. We took a “more is more” approach with this one and it will be a real challenge, but a welcome challenge; to take it to the stage. A local Vancouver EP release party/show is in the works and TBA. We want to keep the musicianship in the music, that has been our agenda since day one!”

‘Power of One’ is now streaming along with CD and digital download at https://omnisight.bandcamp.com/album/the-power-of-one

Also available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major online retailers.

About:
Known for their formidable musicianship, virtuosic guitar solos and powerful songs, OmnisighT is masterfully blurring the lines between melodic hard rock and progressive metal. Beginning as collaboration between vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna and drummer Chris Warunki, they created the impressive ‘Path’ debut album in 2012. Their live line-up was consolidated with the addition of Dave Shannon on bass and guitarist Blake Rurik. ‘Path’ was followed up by the 2013 ‘Wave Particle’ EP.

Like all truly visionary musicians, band co-founder Raj was driven to create unique music. “I’ve been writing and singing songs since I was a little kid. We never seemed to hear heavy prog music that had shredding and hooks at the same time. It always seems you get one or the other….Having technical musicianship with good song-writing, shredding licks, and big hooks was the whole idea.”

Raj sums up OmnisighT’s music thusly: ‘Proggy, hooky, shredding, sad, and powerful!’

While Raj is justifiably proud of OmnisighT’s recorded output, he sees the importance of performance. ‘Live is where the band really shines! We put on a show, running around smiling and shredding. The band plays with more intensity…we often give the headliners a run for their money.’

“The depth of talent in Canada often surprises us. Here is another superb band to add to the list. It remains to be seen how far “The Power Of One” takes OmnisighT. But one thing is for sure, it is an EP of which they can be incredibly proud.” – Maximum Volume Music

“If you’re going to attempt this sort of thing, you’d better have chops. Fortunately, (OmnisighT) have ’em, and how.” – Georgia Straight

“Their stage presence and technique is out of this world…I can safely say that the only guitarists I’ve seen live that instilled the same sort of awe in me as Raj Krishna were Jeff Loomis and John Petrucci himself.” – Prog Sphere

“great songwriting, fantastic lead guitar work…immediately on the first track, the intro “String Theory,” we are greeted by some immense guitar skills. Seriously, these guys are fucking fantastic.” – The Monolith

“deliciously retro, Zappa-meets-Malmsteen solos with at least one toe in the land of jazzy improv… guitar fiends should rush to check them out.” – Georgia Straight

“I have never been more impressed with a band that I had zero knowledge about. These guys play like they’ve been playing together since birth and clearly love what they do at a cellular level.” – Metal Titans

Out Now! Vancouver Thrashers TERRIFIER Premiere New Album ‘Weapons of Thrash Destruction’ via TheSludgelord

TERRIFIER‘s new album ‘Weapons of Thrash Destruction’ is now available as of January 20, 2017 via Test Your Metal Records to follow their 2013 EP ‘Metal or Death’ and 2012 full-length ‘Destroyers of the Faith’. Incorporating jackhammer drums, bulldozing bass-lines, a twin-lead attack that leaves posers pulped in its wake, and vocals that can level mountains, TERRIFIER’s motto could well be ‘thrashing is our business…and business is good’.

TERRIFIER take what has gone before, the old gods, Metallica, Slayer, and use them to birth new sounds, the old gods are eternal, but hail the new gods too!

Vocalist, bassist and founder member Chase Thibodeau explains TERRIFIER’s reason for being. ‘We formed this band because we love thrash and play what we think sounds cool…our music is fast, technical, heavy and melodic and shredding.’ Indeed, this is a band that truly puts the shred inside your head!
It’s their inspirations that drive them to create such perspiration-inducing music as Chase explains: ‘Adrenaline, speed and aggression….that’s the feeling we want to put into people….We started steering more towards an aggressive thrash sound…even being influenced by death metal!’
Their new release ‘Weapons of Thrash Destruction’ features such soon to be classics as ‘Bestial Tyranny’, ‘Skitzoid Embolism’ and ‘Nuclear Demolisher’ and ‘Sect of the Serpent’, a song inspired by Conan the Barbarian as Chase says ‘the idea was to trample the weak and hurdle the dead on this one!’
Chase sums up TERRIFIER’s new music: ‘We think people will enjoy this album and use our music to get pumped up for whatever life throws at them. It would be our honour to inspire others into thrash metal…the world needs more thrash!’

Featuring nine mosh pit heavy neck snappers, the Vancouver, BC thrash titans have teamed up with TheSludgelord to exclusively premiere the album stream along with a chat with front man Chase Thibodeau on his top 5 thrash albums at the following link at http://thesludgelord.blogspot.ca/2017/01/terrifier-album-premiere-canadian.html

“Weapons Of Thrash Destruction is relentless from start to finish.” – Bravewords

“The Canadian quintet Terrifier knows full well what its strengths are and it plays to them in spades on the wonderfully titled Weapons of Thrash Destruction…This is a fine thrash record. Should make for a fun concert, too.” – The Vancouver Sun

“Terrifier proudly delivers a true-to-form tribute to the genre that thoroughly kicked the ass of the 1980s: thrash…It’s clear, metal music is not dead. Lurking in the shadows of the music industry are new artists like Terrifier, mastering their crafts, looking to flip the industry on its head. Weapons of Thrash Destruction is an impressive effort, explosively blending classic tricks with a modern, fresh feel.” – Beatroute BC

“Strike in the name of old school Metal, kneel before the gods of Metal that brought you the best music ever played in stereo, hail the insanity delivered by fast paced riffing and unholy melodic rhythms.” – Metal Temple

“The music is fast and tight, the riffs are complex and fun, the production, solos, and vocals are all spot-on, and there’s plenty of humor to boot. In other words, everything one should want from a thrash album is on Weapons of Thrash Destruction.” – Angry Metal Guy

“an old school thrash cocktail designed to blow a hole right through the bulkhead.” – Amps and Green Screens

“This album (Weapons of Thrash Destruction) is straight up unapologetic thrash! Love the album.” – CJSF – Metal Meltdown
