About:

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based RAPHEUMETS WELL (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists.

Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse.

From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities, which is now continued in the band’s sophomore release ‘The Exile’ which debuted March 18th, 2016.

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel. Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers. The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

Idobi Radio Video Premiere: LUCID AFTERLIFE ‘Time Killaz ft. Merkules’

Reveal EP ‘Occult Mafia Mistress’ Artwork & Track Listing

Vancouver progressive groove rockers LUCID AFTERLIFE are challenging musical composition with each song that they have been writing since 2012. Their name is more of a destination than a title for vocalist Nat Jack who hopes to inspire fans to be as unbridled as their music. The collective vision for the band is driven by Nat at the forefront, guitarist Thom Turner (Freya), Miles Morrsion on Bass, and Matthew Shearlaw on drums.

The band’s diversity allows them to explore all creative avenues and continue to be a flexible group that could be hailed for their hip-hop sensibilities and rock dynamics in one review. Instrumentally they draw on their myriad of influences including David Bowie, Monster Magnet, Wu-Tang Clan, Led Zeppelin, and finally A Perfect Circle.

Their next EP ‘Occult Mafia Mistress’ (release date to be determined) is a collection of songs that lyrically conjure out a certain aspect of Jack’s psyche, a part he is learning to respect and accept. It represents the part of humanity that remains hidden and needs to be drawn out from an internal dialogue that fans can have with each song. The writing process begins to take shape in the lyrics, which touch on indulgence and encouraging everyone to enjoy all pleasurable aspects of life.

Teaming up with Idobi Radio, LUCID AFTERLIFE is giving fans a taste of what’s to come from the EP with their new music video ‘Time Killaz’ featuring a collaboration with Vancouver rapper Merkules.

“Every project Lucid AfterLife brings into existence is different than the last, so when the opportunity to work with one of Canada’s most influential emcees, Merkules Stevenson came to us we decided to create something right out of the box. Time Killaz is an audio and visual journey through the phenomena of time, life & death and also mans quest to take his consciousness beyond space and time all together. On yet another level it is about people wasting your time and the desire to free yourself of those vibes. I produce all of our music videos and this was my first time working with the talented team from Lovero Films, they really stepped things up and helped me bring to life a visual story that is time bending in itself, we had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy.” comments vocalist / guitarist Nat Jack.

There’s so much about ‘Ages Unsung’ that oozes of Chariots Of The Gods’ personality, but what’s most obvious is that here, we have a quintet which are masters of their craft, and with this record have allowed fans from a multitude of genres in for what should be a phenomenal ride for the band from here on out.

Calgary, AB metalcore six piece, SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS announce they will be performing dates in British Columbia and Alberta as part of their tour in support of their forthcoming album ‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ due out on November 11th. The tour will kick off in Vancouver, BC on November 3rd and end in Grande Prairie, AB on November 13th with select dates supported by Nanaimo, BC’s The Body Politic and Edmonton, AB’s Corvus The Crow (dates listed below).

‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ features 10 assaulting tracks plus a bonus acoustic version of their first single ‘Tidebringer’. Initially the band wrote 15 songs for release, but chose to use only the best of the bunch. After an entire year of demos and writing, they worked with producer Rob Kukla (Arbitrator) to establish the album tracks and had mixing plus mastering done by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills).

The band comments on the release:

“These Tides, Our Tombs” is a project that has been in the works for the last two years. Our entire goal was to create an album that challenged all of us musically plus would break down the genre walls placed upon us by our previous releases. On a lyrical standpoint, the album is an emotional roller coaster touching on subjects such as loss, suicide and depression. “These Tides” symbolizes the negativity that surrounds us; “Our Tombs” symbolizes how we choose to deal with them. It’s either sink or swim. We hope the fans will feel the same raw emotion we put into writing this record.”

Revolving mostly around themes of love and loss, ‘The Tides, Our Tombs’ is an album that has the originality to break down genre walls and create a truly diverse and dedicated fan base. A sound that has the consistency that veteran fans know and love, but still manages to remain dynamic enough to attract a plethora of new listeners. It’s rare to find such a definitive offering from an unsigned band. It’s crushingly heavy, yet beautifully melodic.

SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS‘ first music video and second single ‘Glass Kingdom’ can be viewed at the following link.

0 Loud Stuff – Fractal Cypher – The Human Paradox

  • October 3, 2016
  • by Asher
  • · Fractal Cypher

“Montréal Quintet Fractal Cypher aren’t one of those bands you can easily categorise.  Mixing a blend of Power Metal in the vain of Sonata Arctica and Avantasia, but with an aggressive, progressive and technical edge that would sit comfortably along-side the likes of Devin Townsend or Scar Symmetry.  Much like the title of their album ‘The Human Paradox’, the mixing of these styles would seem somewhat paradoxical, however they are successfully and seamlessly blended to work cohesively with one another… they’re definitely one to keep an eye on, that’s for sure.”
