Metal-Rules Premiere: RED CAIN Playthrough ‘Hiraeth’; Debut Self-Titled EP Out Nov 25th

Calgary, AB’s RED CAIN have teamed up with Metal-Rules.com for the premiere of their playthrough for their first single ‘Hiraeth’ off their upcoming self-titled debut EP set for release on November 25th. The track was written as an anthem to glorious ages past, driven by the band’s Eastern European roots. Enveloped in Slavic mythology and imagery, the track takes the listener into an era where mysticism and sorcery coexisted with sharp steel, pagan hymns, and a still-present yearning for the restless wild. It is a gallop through hidden memories in their blood, and a call to arms from a long-forgotten heritage of renown.

To watch and listen the ‘Hiraeth’ playthrough, please visit the following link: http://www.metal-rules.com/metalnews/2016/10/31/metal-rules-premiere-red-cain-playthrough-hiraeth-debut-self-titled-ep-out-nov-25th/

You can also hear the full track with vocals at the following lyric video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3VzG-M_Ss8

RED CAIN, a powerful, modern melodic metal project with European roots is back on the scene after a two year hiatus and line up change that features orchestration guru William Lancaster along with the talented multi-instrumentalist Rogan McAndrews to join founding band members Evgeniy Zayarny, Nikita Ryzhenkov plus Samuel Royce. RED CAIN is a storytelling vehicle of Faustian sagas and twisted orchestral landscapes – complete with articulate songwriting, heavy, groove-filled instrumentals plus evocative, rich vocals, all creating a memorable and dramatic musical experience.

1. Guillotine (6:12)
2. Dead Aeon Requiem (5:45)
3. Hiraeth (5:17)
4. Unborn (7:03)

EP Length: 24:18

0 We Love Metal – Red Cain – S/T

  • · Red Cain

I urge you to check out one of the new faces to the metal scene. Jump on board and claim bragging rights before the masses do!…Red Cain definitely have something going for them. From heaviness and killer breakdowns to more melancholic and woeful moments, Red Cain, will certainly be making heads turn especially when their full-length debut album comes around. If you love albums that have this ‘roller coaster’ effect and each song does not sound like one another then I recommend giving this album a listen. https://www.welovemetal.com/newsite/wordpress/2016/10/30/album-review-red-cain-red-cain/

Recently unleashing their new album ‘Round 2: Fight!’ on October 7th, Calgary thrashers ILLYRIAN have teamed up with Yell! Magazine for the premiere of their ‘Five By Five (The Dark Slayer Comes) band playthrough, which can be viewed at the following link: http://www.yellmagazine.com/yell-magazine-exclusive-illyrian-five-the-dark-slayer-comes-playthrough-video/113236/

ILLYRIAN‘s album ‘Round 2: Fight!’ was co-produced by the band with Casey Lewis at Echo Base Studios plus mastered by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) at Perfect Fifth Studios and is available for on iTunes, Amazon andBandcamp.

Full album stream can be heard at the following link: http://illyrian.bandcamp.com/album/round-2-fight

Formed in 2011 under the name Hellborn Death Engines, the band is resurfacing under the new moniker ILLYRIAN with the recent additions of bassist / vocalist Jeff Perry (Sikarra, ex-Animus Labyrinth) plus British drum sensation Darren May (ex-Deacon Birch) who have brought new and progressive musical mindsets into the band to join original and founding members Scott Onofrychuk (guitars/vocals) and Brandon McNeil (guitar/vocals).

Evolving into a highly technical group playing thrash metal with their erratic and precise on-stage delivery, rapier wit, along with nostalgic charm, ILLYRIAN have removed the constraints of conventional metal sub-genre formula to replace their sound with a melting pot of technical thrash riffs, blistering solos, prog-influenced rhythms along with the band’s signature tri-vocal attack.

Calgary, AB metalcore six piece, SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS will be hitting the road this week for dates in British Columbia and Alberta as part of their tour in support of their forthcoming album ‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ due out on November 11th. The tour will kick off in Kelowna, BC on November 2nd with a No Messiah Radio live studio performance and end in Grande Prairie, AB on November 13th with select dates supported by Nanaimo, BC’s The Body Politic and Edmonton, AB’s Corvus The Crow (dates listed below).

‘These Tides, Our Tombs’ features 10 assaulting tracks plus a bonus acoustic version of their first single ‘Tidebringer’. Initially the band wrote 15 songs for release, but chose to use only the best of the bunch. After an entire year of demos and writing, they worked with producer Rob Kukla (Arbitrator) to establish the album tracks and had mixing plus mastering done by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills).

The band comments on the release:

“These Tides, Our Tombs” is a project that has been in the works for the last two years. Our entire goal was to create an album that challenged all of us musically plus would break down the genre walls placed upon us by our previous releases. On a lyrical standpoint, the album is an emotional roller coaster touching on subjects such as loss, suicide and depression. “These Tides” symbolizes the negativity that surrounds us; “Our Tombs” symbolizes how we choose to deal with them. It’s either sink or swim. We hope the fans will feel the same raw emotion we put into writing this record.”

Revolving mostly around themes of love and loss, ‘The Tides, Our Tombs’ is an album that has the originality to break down genre walls and create a truly diverse and dedicated fan base. A sound that has the consistency that veteran fans know and love, but still manages to remain dynamic enough to attract a plethora of new listeners. It’s rare to find such a definitive offering from an unsigned band. It’s crushingly heavy, yet beautifully melodic.

SHARK INFESTED DAUGHTERS‘ first music video and second single ‘Glass Kingdom’ can be viewed at the following link.
