What originally formed as a band to support guitarist and vocalist Matt Stanley’s solo EP “The Life & Times” in 2008, has developed into a three piece of good old rock n roll fun known as THE DECOYS. Comprised of Matt Stanley on guitar/vocals, Sean Poissant on drums and Sean Schneider on bass, the Kamloops, BC based band deliver raw and honest tunes influenced by the spirit of artists like Neil Young, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Led Zeppelin.

Their 2011 debut album “Stripped, Bare, And On Display” co-produced by Henry Small (Prism, Scrubbaloe Caine, John Entwisle Band) garnered much support from Western Canadian radio for their singles “I Know” and “Modern Disaster” leading them to be one of Western Canada’s most active independent touring acts. With that support and a growing fan base, THE DECOYS are getting ready to release their follow up and sophomore album ‘In Our Blood’, which has evolved on a musical level.

“We definitely have a power trio kind of sound now. We have a different bass player on this album and when we parted ways with our former lead guitarist, I went from playing rhythm guitar to playing lead guitar. We’re also better players and songwriters at this point. The last album was pretty much straight rock and alternative. We’ve dug a little deeper this time around, incorporating elements of punk, grunge, folk and country rock and writing lyrics about everyday life. The best inspiration for writing songs is experiencing the world; getting out there, playing live and being a touring rock ‘n’ roll band.” says vocalist / guitarist Matt Stanley.

Set for release on April 15, 2016, ‘In Our Blood’ is already gaining buzz for its infectious first single ‘Don’t Hesitate’, which the band will be supporting with a tour once again across Western Canada plus dates for the first time in the Prairies (SK, MB) and Ontario.

  • · Demise of The Crown

Montreal metalheads Demise of the Crown would appear to be on the verge of something quite special if this seven track self-titled slab of metallic brilliance is anything to go by. At the heart of this promise lies the adamantine voice of vocalist Darren Beadman who, on the evidence provided, could well be at the forefront of the next generation of metal vocalists.

About:

Vancouver’s rugged outdoors-metallers, The Mountain Man, deliver a diverse blend of hard-hitting music, paying homage to the Sasquatch through crushing riffs and blaring drums. This band is all Canadian; celebrating camping, plaid, beer, and above all else energetic metal. Parker (ex-BRAUHEIST) gets straight to the point with his raw, gruff vocals and lyrics filled with animosity that cut through the instruments like an unyielding axe. Each song is like a hand-drawn map guiding fans through the British Columbian wilderness. While the first half is complete, the second half is up to the listener to build their own path and take what they will from each track.

The band developed their sound from listening to groups like The Black Dahlia Murder, Crowbar, Gojira, Lamb of God, and Black Sabbath, taking to heart the importance of dedicating their lives to their craft. Tevyn Pacey (Bass), Ryan McCreedy (Drums), Parker (Vocals), Tyson Tambellini (Rhythm Guitar), and Jordan Orr (Lead Guitar) are like woodsmen secluded from civilization with nothing but their instruments to craft doomy, yet frantic metal. They harness a variety of metal genres and bend them to their will.

The Mountain Man are releasing their debut EP Bloodlust on Friday, March 25, 2016. The five song EP is purposefully open ended so that listeners can interpret each song and find meaning for themselves. More information can be found at https://mountainmanmetal.bandcamp.com
