Fans of Opeth are advised to check out this Canadian project. The combination of death metal heaviness with melodic prog rock and epic arrangements is certainly reminiscent of the Swedish band in their “Blackwater Park” days…There is much to admire here. Rhine is basically the creation of Gabriel Tachell, who does everything here except the drumming, which is handled by Sean Lang. Tachell is one hell of a talent because Rhine is definitely on par with Opeth when it comes to technicality and playing ability.
