“For a short while now, I’ve claimed this Ontario band be one of the Great White North brightest unsigned lights. I’m vividly imagining them inking a deal with Q Prime Management, the people who handle Metallica and Baroness,  thereby scoring them opening slots on their roster mates’ tours.” – Decibel Mag

“Adrenechrome may be one of the best bands you’ve never heard of.” – Zero Tolerance Mag

“Tales From Adrenechrome is a monster of an album that deserves your attention.” Bravewords

““Black Brubeck” is impressive; the song is loaded with prog chops and wacky banjo plucks, which break up it’s pounding slog. “God Sized Shadow” is stacked way high with amplification between Mike Van Dyk‘s bombing bass and the railing guitars of Tim Kehoe and Chris Friesen. Friesen‘s tradeoffs been dank cleans and squelchy rasps add to the song’s slow bang. Of course, you can expect a soothing progression to change the dynamic of “God Sized Shadow”, and of course there has to be a black metal burp inside a song with that name. Style points awarded to ADRENECHROME.” – Blabbermouth

“what they’re doing is hipster metal cool with entertaining riff barrages and convulsive tom rolls.” – Blabbermouth

“Adrenechrome throw a bit of everything and the kitchen sink into their album Tales Of The Adrenechrome, and if anything could be said about this release it’s that it is certainly interesting…To put it simply, these guys are masterful songwriters and would probably make a killing doing more straightforward music, but instead they’re gracing us with their spastic talents and we are all the more blessed for it.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

““Si Revocation décidait de lancer un projet de stoner rock en parallèle, il y a de fortes chances que cela puisse sonner comme Adrenechrome. Variée, la musique qu’offre cette formation ontarienne se veut pimpante tout en étant complexe….Intéressant et très frais comme sonorité!”” – Voir

“Each track on this album stands on its own as a solid piece of music, but the unpredictability makes this album a treat to listen to front to back.  It’s diverse and dynamic style keeps you on your toes as each track comes and goes, always leaving you satisfied with what you just experienced. Above all else, that’s what this album is; an experience. One you don’t want to miss out on, as it might be one of 2015’s most well put together albums, who’s only real flaw is that it feels too short…This album is a gem of Canadian metal, and should not be skipped by any fan of the genre.” – Audio Honesty

“Adrenechrome have riffs for days, interspersing smoky grooves with surprisingly proggy passages and fierce, earthy vocals. Give this one a shot if you’re looking for a twist in the well-traveled path. ” – Toilet ov Hell

Track by Track explained by the band:

1. A Familiar Face is about our first entirely major song riff, meant to lull the listener into a false sense of security.
2. Lockstep – This song is straight up thrash with a touch of Van Halen inspired riffery and some surf style to boot.
3. Black Brubeck – Def one of our most spastic tunes, lots of riffs and even a nod to Mr. Brubeck himself.
4. God Sized Shadow – This is our most “song” like offering to date with a little black metal in the middle.
5. The Heart And The Feather – This is another major offering with an uplifting theme and some Thin Lizzy inspired bits.
6. Hideous Appetites – This track is hard hitting riffs with some sludge thrown in for good measure and a big rock finish a la Clutch.
7. The Lead Elephant – This is Friesen’s personal favorite on the album, thrash/sludge tuned down to A and the riff at the end is one of our best.

Reviews of 2012’s ‘Hideous Appetites’

“What starts out as a solid thrash album quickly morphs into a far more interesting, original, and engaging work with strong flavours of Mastodon’s proggy sludge and big riffs.” – Metal Hammer

“each song features a sweaty, aggressive thrash engine that propels the music forward, but the instrumentation is far more skillful and intricate than just straightforward shredding. “Hymn for the Heathens” has a great classic rock feel to it and opener “Titans Fall” does its mythic subject matter proud.” – Exclaim!

“The illustrious list of top quality metal bands to emerge from Canada has just been added to. Adrenechrome take the hard hitting technicality of bands like Realm, the addictive assault of classic thrash and bring it all up to date with a liberal helping of Baroness style, passionate free thinking. It’s a fresh, interesting, exciting combination of sounds that makes new seven track EP Hideous Appetites, well worth going out of your way to track down. Songs like ‘Titan’s Fall’ and ‘Hymn For The Heathens’ combine the immediate appeal of crisp, melodic riffing with a clear longevity, born of their intelligent complexity and diversity. CK 4 /5” – Zero Tolerance Magazine

“Annihilator-meets-Mastodon composite, with probably more progressive tendencies lurking about. And yeah, big thumbs-up for this type of combo… At only two years of age, Adrenechrome displays a keen eye for dynamics on their debut EP, Hideous Appetites” – Blistering.com

“This is a band with some serious skill, some serious ability, and an EP which is going to blow your mind when you hear it. To be quite honest, I can easily see these guys achieving a hell of a year next year if this continues, definitely a band you need to make sure you’re following!” – Loud-Stuff.com

“Adrenechrome have concocted a winning recipe. This four-piece from Ontario, Canada clearly know their way around thrash’s greats but show no fear in chucking in some modern flair. And I don’t mean crash, bang, wallop, what the hell – you only have to hear the opening riff to ‘Titans Fall’ to get those saliva glands going.” – Metal-Rules.com

“Hideous Appetites is one of the best candidates for thrash in a while…The opening track “Titans Fall” is a musical masterpiece with a shred heavy intro to the double kickdrum center, this song makes me want to fight some titans with my metal fists.” – Screamer Magazine

“Kudos to the guitars for their mix of heaviness and catchiness, as well as inventive rhythms.” – Metallian

“ADRENECHROME are a highly skilled and technically proficient band musically. The songs rage with great breakdowns yet are also layered with lots of crunch and have some tasty Jazz influenced solos throughout.” – Metal-Temple

“This is truly a gem from the small metal mines of Ontario, Canada. Adrenechrome is well worth your time and not just in listening to their music. They are an act that is a must see live. Their stage presence and the execution of the music is unbelievable! If they are playing near you I urge you, URGE YOU, to go see them!! You won’t regret it!”  – XplosiveMetal.com

“Adrenechrome is made up some damn talented guys and I highly recommend checking out their brand new single “Titans Fall”. It’s a powerful, political tune that does not pull any punches.” – WeLoveMetal.com

“Canadians Adrenechrome manages to stand out on their debut release Hideous Appetites, but they accomplish it by defying thrash stereotypes rather than following them. There’s still plenty of thrash centric moments, but the instrumentals also head into stoner metal and hard rock territory throughout the seven songs.” – Cosmos Gaming

“Solid stuff from these cats. Hard Rocking Metal too put hair on your chest” – MaximumThreshold.net

“Adrenechrome successfully blends classic thrash metal with the innovation of progressive metal and harsh heaviness of metalcore, while at the same time retaining melody and demonstrating some terrific musicianship. 4/5” – DangerDog

“On Adrenechrome’s release “Hideous Appetites”, an array of riffs, drum attics, vocal ranges, just everything you could or would want to hear on a thrash metal release is put to work” – Natalie’s World

“These guys have a bright future as songwriters, especially when they take their sound to the boundary between thrash and progressive music….a promising release by a strong band and deserves a listen. I’d recommend it for its strong musical performances and its smooth blend of thrash / progressive / and rock styles.” – SeaofTranquility

“‘Hideous Appetites’ is a very good introduction to Adrenechrome and offers a lot of promise for the bands future. Highlight of the album: ‘Winds of The Void’ Rating: 8/10” – Firebrand Magazine

“They bring us a solid plate of classic thrash with a good heaping of progressive elements thrown on top. It is a fresh batch of excellent songwriting mixed with a good portion of inspiration from big names such as Mastodon and The Sword that yields a really nicely put together EP.

The first thing that really stands out on Hideous Appetites is the writing. Each song is filled to the brim with first-rate guitar work and a healthy amount of guitar solos.” – Emurg.com

“this LP leaves you thirsty for more. It’s like crossover EXTREME with anything (groove) and everything (thrash) thrown in to make things extra spicy! This is another young uncompromising band to keep an eye out for. Highly unusual and highly recommend.” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

“The riffs these guys blend together are just truly amazing. It’s progressive, but classic… technical, but groovy… thrashy, but melodic. They have to be a genre snob’s nightmare! The band says they’re influenced by the classic sound of Pantera, Sabbath, and Metallica, but also use the fresh sounds of Children of Bodom, High on Fire, and Mastodon. This has to be the truest statement I have ever read about a band’s influences. You can hear every last one of them reflect in the music, but Adrenechrome has managed to make a new sound of their own, and it’s one you must hear.” – MetalReview.com

“Their music is the perfect blend of old school Thrash Metal groove blended with new school Technical & Progressive Metal. There is the right amount of dosage of both styles to come up with the perfect formula. There is some all out riff shredding that takes me back to some of the great Thrash bands of the 80’s like TESTAMENT, EXODUS, OVERKILL & WHIPLASH. Some of the newer influences the band has are MASTODON, HIGH ON FIRE & CHILDREN OF BODOM.” – Beowolf Productions

“What’s special about Adrenechrome? Well, these guys have the ability to create the weirdest, most thrashing and unique riffs, there’s a stone rock feel as well in their sound and the guitar solos attack without mercy, they don’t suck, they’re violent musically… They maintain a certain quality no matter what they do, technical and energic, the best songs on this 7 track Ep are “Titan’s fall”, “The Horror”, and “Locust Wings”. Cool Tunes, original or not-this Ep kills!!” – Aquelarre Zine

“The playing is tight in every department and the lyrics are awesome as hell. Songs such as “Titan’s Fall” and “Locust Wings” are so catchy that they will probably be stuck in your head for days. With that, I think if Adrenechrome play their cards right and keep their innovative style of thrash fresh they may end up getting a lot of deserved attention. I look forward to seeing what they do in the future.” – UysFaber.com

““Hideous Appetites” is an edacious seven track EP with 33 minutes of nonstop headbanging contemplating a vast range of destructive metal. This work has much to offer to fans of the old school rock but opens the door and welcomes all types of appreciators. With a huge spectrum of sounds you can hear a furious guitar with a heavy and catchy riffing with a flavor of thrash and hard rock that also hosts cool melodies, a well worked progressive drumming that blows your mind, a very technical bass that doesn’t stay concealed in the music background, and a voice that goes from roaring growls to a less harsh vocal work.” – Heavy Metal Mania

“With “Hideous Appetites” they showed what they are here for… “Melt your fucking face” with massive metal. Don´t miss these guys!” – Heavy Metal Mania
“If you still enjoy your thrash metal, then Adrenechrome will whet your appetite with their different and original take on the genre.  Worth investigating.” – GetReadyToRock.me.uk
“[4/5]I love releases like this, independent bands like this should have bigger label involvement, the quality of the recording is pretty damn good, the ideas of Friesen are bonkers, I mean, you even get some almost hillbilly riffing during ‘The Horror’ as well as intense crossover/hardcore breakdowns, light appealing acoustic section, Adrenechrome have  a touch of everything. All in all, I am thoroughly pleased with this release, this is a great starting point for this band and this is an album some of the bigger hitters should have come up with. The inventiveness, the delivery the passion is clear and ‘Hideous Appetites’ is a really cool album that crosses genres and keeps listeners entertained and interested.” – Brutalism.com

Ontario’s Adrenechrome are hurtling forward like zombies with a hunger for flesh looking to create good old-fashioned rock n’ roll infused with groove and peppered with metal. The group features Chris Friesen dominating on guitar and lead vocals, Tim Kehoe who shreds guitar and haunting vocal work, Matt Copeland thrashing the drums, and Mike Van Dyk creating groovy basslines. Their name inspires a frantic, adrenaline fueled misadventure and is a direct reference to a fictional drug in the film “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas”.

These heavy metal monsters started in 2010 and rode like the four horsemen to devour every audience they could around Canada. Their songwriting swings like an unhinged pendulum between rapid, brief works to heavy, ten-tonne brick tunes. Members are veterans of the music scene, coming from various acts like Gaswitch, Shimmy Rabbits, and The Doug Trucker Band. Live, the band is tight and strictly a “no frills”affair — this means no make up or gimmicks, just straight-forward, kick-ass metal.

The band has upcoming album ‘Tales From Adrenechrome’ is due out on November 27, 2015 to follow up their 2012 debut EP ‘Hideous Appetites’ and is their most abstract, spastic, and explosive release to date. This album is established on heavy riffs,  roaring drums, smooth bass lines, and wrapped up with lyrical themes that combine personal experience with fantasy, sci fi, and classic literature. This album is reserved for only those who can handle the high velocity heavy metal adventure that is Adrenechrome!

Bonnyville, AB death-infused melodic metallers SILENT LINE has teamed up with Hellbound.ca for the premiere of their third single ‘Erosion’ off their upcoming concept album ‘Shattered Shores’, which is the follow up to their 2012 LP ‘Born of Dying Star’.

Vocalist/guitarist Michael Burton comments about the track:

“This is the second song on the album and it is more “bouncy” and is a lot different from the opening track before it both lyrically and musically. The bounciness comes from locking the rhythm guitars to the kick drum in verses and blending lead guitar and synth runs together. In this song, the setting is one of the land free of snow, being burned away by an inferno; fear dominates. The past and how the land has come to be a ruined hellscape is the main subject matter.”

To listen to ‘Erosion‘, please visit the following link: http://hellbound.ca/2015/10/song-premiere-erosion-from-silent-lines-upcoming-shattered-shores/

Producing heavy and melodic music with an orchestral flair rooted in death metal‘Shattered Shores’ is the band’s first concept album. The title track is split into two parts, and throughout the album several thematic riffs and lyrics are repeated, creating a motif for listeners. The title references being stranded and trapped forever as the shores become more eroded and the reality of isolation sets in. The lyrics revolve around the themes of overcoming hardships, anxiety, and “weathering the storm” in order to persevere. A single person is referred to throughout the album and everything is told from their point of view as they wander, stuck on the island — unsure of how they got there, and unsure if they will ever leave.

SILENT LINE is composed of Mike Burton leading the charge on guitar and vocals, Randy Bergh writing pummeling guitar riffs, Andy Sidloski crafting driving bass lines, and Adam Kallstrom thundering on drums. The line up charges audiences with their energy and fills the entire room with its symphonic melodies. heir dedication to their craft is strengthened by their loyal fans, who have supported their development over the years with their two previous albums  ‘Born of A Dying Star’ (2012) and ‘One Body Blade’ (2010).

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist  Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, with four full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title” (2006), their holiday album “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” (2007), “Sandwich” (2009),  and “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D” (2011), the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory, Psychostick returns with their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic) to showcase their latest offering, the crowd funded album ‘IV: Revenge of The Vengeance’ (fan thank you video) due out on November 4, 2014. Featuring a hilarious track listing that includes previously released singles the beard anthem ‘Obey The Beard’ and popular ‘Dog Like Socks’ plus new tracks such as ‘Quack Kills’, ‘So. Heavy’, ‘Blue Screen’, and a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action super hero ‘Bruce Campbell’. Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

Cleveland’s INFALLING Unleash New Track ‘Distorted Visions’, An Assaulting Trauma From Their Upcoming EP ‘Ominous’

Monstrous riffs, bellowing vocals, and pummeling drums that mimic that screaming disdain you have for your mundane existence, that is the assaulting trauma of Cleveland’s INFALLING. This aggressive and groovy five piece is responsible for writing crushing thrash-tinged death metal, which includes their new single ‘Distorted Visions’ from their yet to be released EP ‘Ominous’ to follow the aggression of their 2012 debut EP ‘Path of Desolation’.

To listen to ‘Distorted Visions’, please visit the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REFUmo5q4Og

Multiples members of the band come from various Cleveland projects including Stresslord, Odious Sanction, and Pale Creation to name a few. The members are a culmination of Tony Balante berating the microphone, Justin Endres and Kyle Knicely crafting chugging riffs on guitar, Ben Smith slaying on bass, and Eric Frabotta setting the pace on drums. INFALLING is a sanctuary for the members giving them an outlet for creativity, fueled by passion and dedication to write their best material yet. Their boisterous sound is credited to their tried and true influences ranging from Metallica to Suffocation and helps them shape the auditory roller coaster that is Infalling.

Their writing process is a little unorthodox considering they conceptualize the songs based on the song titles, EP title, and then artwork. This reversed process has allowed them a sense of direction and visual cues to base their instrumentals on, from there the drum tracks are created, followed by riffs, and finally vocals. Their give and take relationship with crowds allows them to engage with fans at shows and have heads banging and horns in the air by their first song.
