Having toured Eastern Canada aggressively plus an international tour in Cuba (live video in La Havana) over the last two years in support of their 2013 debut album ‘Tides of War’ produced by award winning producer/engineer/mixer Glen Robinson, Ottawa, ON’sCHARIOTS OF THE GODS are proud to announce new vocalist Chris Therien (ex-Defy the Crown, ex-Sordid) and drummer Dave Gravel (ex-Mortor, ex-Nonsense) to their line up.
COTG comments in English and French:
“It’s the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us. Playing with Dave and Chris is a lot of fun, but most of all, feels right. Dave is a machine on the drums and we’re positive that he’ll elevate our music and live performances to another level. With Chris on vocals, it brings in a whole new sonic range that we’ve been wanting to explore and can finally venture into with confidence. We are back and stronger than ever.”

New vocalist Chris Therien comments in English and French:
“It’s a great pleasure and an honor to be part of this band. I’ve heard nothing but great tunes and great words about COG. I’m pretty excited and looking forward to being a part of what’s coming next… and that, in my opinion, will kick some serious ass! Be prepared!”
———-
“C’est un plaisir et un honneur pour moi de joindre ce groupe. Je n’ai entendu que des bonnes chansons et des bonnes choses à propos de COG. Je suis impatient de prendre part à ce qui s’en vient… et à mon avis, ça va botter des culs grave ! Soyez prêts!”
New drummer Dave Gravel comments in English and French:
“I had the chance to do a couple of shows with these guys in the past. It’s an honor and a privilege to join an awesome band like Chariots. I’m really looking forward to playing shows and to enrich my musical baggage with them!”
———-
“J’ai eu la chance de faire quelques spectacle avec le gars dans le passé. C’est un honneur et un privilège de me joindre à un super groupe tel que Chariots. J’ai vraiment hâte de faire des spectacles et de progresser musicalement avec eux!”

“‘Tides of War’ offers music that is well done and fueled with the propensity of delivering solid melodic death/thrash.” – Blistering.com
“Fans of modern thrash, who like it furious, biting and yet melodic check Chariots of The Gods.” – Lords of Metal
“There’s a lot on ‘Tides of War’ to pique the interest of either thrash or melodic death metal fans, and the non-stop galloping guitar sound is an impressive display of what the underground can achieve.” – MetalUnderground.com
“It is heavy, brutal and energetic while also incorporating a fair amount of melody to boot!…This is an album that is definitely going to raise the bar in the extreme music scene for the remainder of the year. Pick this one up; you won’t regret it!” – PureGrainAudio.com
“CHARIOTS OF THE GODS are showing plenty of promise to be able to be one of Canada’s next big things out there” – Metal Observer
“An incredibly professional production is at hand: drums are clear; vocals are on the perfect level with the instruments; even the soft and quiet moments are balanced just right so as to create bits of atmosphere against the heaviness. There is a pure love of metal evident in this debut and the production lets all the power, aggression, and passion through to the listener…the band confidently establishes their intention: a charge of solid and unyielding melodeath garnished with impeccable interludes, solos, and leads.” – MetalStorm
“CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, with their first full-length release ”Tides Of War”,is sure to be the new buzz of the underground scene…Overall, the album is an eclectic, vibrant, and colorful release that really keeps listeners head banging all the way and appreciating the good work the band has put in. The production is clearly strong, coming from the hands of Glen Robinsonwho has worked with Metal legends such as ANNIHILATOR and QUEENSRYCHE…The band does its best, and boy is it good, to church out infectious hook after hook, coupled with blistering melodies and kickass solos backed by Jobin’s great vocals. Each band member shines in this album and their dedication and devotion to their music is clear from the start…The entire album is structured in a genius way—these guys are clearly gifted lads.” – Metal-Temple
“Splendid stuff from a young Canadian troupe that would appear to have all the tricks… I love their coruscating mix of Maidenesque harmonies (have a listen to the awesome Blind Assassin and tell me you ain’t impressed)” – MetalAsFuck
“”Tides of War” is an album that rivals classics by acts such as God Forbid, Shadows Fall, and Killswitch Engage in excellence and pays respectful homage to acts like In Flames, Arch Enemy, At The Gates, and Dark Tranquility. For my money, this debut album deserves the status as a melodeath-type of metal classic. 5/5″ – MetalMusicArchives
“The best thing about this band, in my view, is the powerful melodic style they bring to each song. The guitarists are especially strong on several tracks, including “Tides of War,” “Revillusion (1905),” and “Unbound.” I loved the instrumental track “Snow Falls on the White River (1914),” yet another piece of evidence that these guys have a keen sense of melody, at times, one that even approaches beauty. Mathiew St-Amour and Dimitri Gervais play their guitars with grace and precision and sound especially great on their harmonized parts. These guys have a bright future as twin guitar leads and I hope they’ll take advantage of what they can do together. Readers who like their guitars to come in pairs will love this album.” – SeaofTranquility

“COTG entice the listener with infectious hooks, associated melodies and some blistering solos out of the guitar work. If that is not justice enough for you to buy this, then listen to the intensity of Renaud Jobin’s vocals. This is a release that requires you to strap your balls down (if you have them of course!) when the volume is cranked up…They have a fantastic musical ability and a gift of song structure that exhumes listeners emotions that includes anger and conversely serenity and the need to throw the devil horns without too much though will therefore result. ‘Tides of War’ promotes Chariots of the Gods as real contenders in their field of metal, their field of glory and the rewards are presented for everyone on these exceptional fourteen tracks defining a generation of musically gifted individuals who do not rely purely on breakdowns to get their point across, it sounds effortless. Horn’s raised high gents! 4/5″ – Brutalism.com
“Overture is quite sweet sounding and feels like a film score. Nothing compared to the monster that is waiting to be unleashed. Ferocious riffs and classic metal vocals. Drums blasting out the speed and blasts and the guitars giving it a chunky edge whilst maintains some harmony. Hatebreed hardcore edge but throws in the melody. Definitely an innovative sound amongst a sea of similar sounds. Chariots of the Gods definitely seem to offer something that little bit different. Taking the generic metal sound and throwing in delicious guitar solos with a conflicting vocal. Upbeat without being cheesy.” – Culutre Bomb Mag
”I’m honored to be a part of this project” – Glen Robinson (producer)
”It’s pretty good!” – Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)
”In my opinion, Chariots of the Gods is THE melodic thrash metal revelation in Canada this year” – Musique d’une Nation

“Hands down, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS have worked hard and have improved their songwriting that shines in “Tides Of War” in every aspect. Don’t be fooled by the melodic Death Metal tag and consider the Canadians just another IN FLAMES wannabe because there is more than just catchy riffs and growling vocals. And don’t forget that CHARIOTS OF THE GODS come from Canada that is a most reliable source for high quality Metal. 8/10″ – MetalKaoz.com
