From the bowels of Satan’s lair, DIZASTRA has come. After a long wait for their first full-length album, fans can expect to be massacred with “Elder Sun” coming later in 2019.

Following up the 2015 EP ‘Hell’ s Gate’, Montreal based DIZASTRA summons unholy ferocity in their music merging the sounds of black, thrash and melodic heavy metal to coagulate is a distinct sound.

‘Vae Victus’ is the first single from the upcoming album “Elder Sun”. The anthem to riding a dragon through Hades, this track combines all the elements of what makes heavy metal what it is. Bringing together shrieking vocals, pummeling drums, cosmic-threatening bass, and electrifying (literally) solos, ‘Vae Victus’ rides triumph through listeners ears.

The video for ‘Vae Victus’ demonstrates their meager budget and Tolkien level storytelling in a compelling tale of time travel and high adventure. Wizards, warriors, battle, and friendship all come together to dazzle viewers across the globe.

Bio:

From the bowels of Satan’s lair, Dizastra has come. Their story begins with veteran performer of Quebec’s Heavy Montreal music festival and Wacken Metal Battle Canada finalist Matt Conti. He joined forces with Denis Stoisin. Together they mixed melody with ferocity, merging the sounds of Black, Thrash, and Melodic Heavy Metal. Within a year of forming, Dizastra released their first EP titled “Hell’s Gate” in 2015. The release brought them recognition as a rising force within the Quebec Heavy Metal scene and national acclaim.

Dizastra’s line-up was solidified in the summer of 2017 with the addition of Nathan Afilalo of Dissension on bass and Petey Giampa of Venomenon on drums. The contributions of these new members summoned new speed and malice to the group’s sound. With the band firmly established, they dug their heels in the trenches and began writing material for their first full-length album.

At long last, the wait is finally over. “Elder Sun” is the next chapter in Dizastra’s legacy that will guarantee them a place amongst Heavy Metal’s elite. Set for release in the fall of 2019, the “Elder Sun” rises.

Vancouver’s KOSM recently plunged listeners into the dark universe of their Bloodborne inspired EP “Eyes On The Inside” unleashed on June 28th, 2019. The dark and agile record demonstrated KOSM‘s maturity in sound since releasing their 2018 Lovecraftian inspired debut album “Cosmonaut” and was the first release that featured all members of the band contributing to the writing process. In addition to the band’s original material, the progressive metal quintet enjoys creating cover videos of some of their favourite bands such as Gojira, Mastodon, Queens of The Stone Age, System of A Down, Halestorm, Plini and many more. Adding to the list of covers, the band is sharing their new video performing A PERFECT CIRCLE‘s famed track ‘3 Libras’ alongside friend James Holder of Vancouver gothic metalcore outfit 2 SHADOWS.

The band adds:

“We’re all big fans of APC and this cover turned out better than we were expecting – we try to keep things DIY and did this all ourselves! Due to time constraints between our current EP release we had to record and shoot this whenever there was time – always have to stay busy!”

Bio:
KOSM is a progressive metal band hailing from Vancouver BC, Canada. Combining influences from Mastodon, Tool, and Gojira; their sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark in Vancouver’s metal scene as an absolute force to be reckoned with.

Familiar to members of the progressive metal covenant, and playing with themes from the H.P. Lovecraft and Bloodborne universes; KOSM is quite unique and authentically its own being. Their first release, 2018’s “Cosmonaut” was an album loosely based on the Lovecraftian myth of Cthulhu and each song was meant to walk the listener through a story from beginning to end. Following this, the band is now gearing up for the release of their latest release in 2019, “Eyes On The Inside”, an EP exclusively based on the Bloodborne video game.

Since the release, their first full-length album, The Fallen Sun, Sludgehammer from Toronto, Canada have been riding a wave of great reviews for the record as well as their live show.

Originally formed in 2013 by Jeff Wilson (guitar) and Fernando Villalobos (drums), Sludgehammer’s initial lineup came together with the addition of Daniel Ayers (vocals/bass) and Christopher Szarota (vocals). By the end of the year, they released a demo which gained considerable ground. 2014’s EP Organ Harvester introduced Dan Ayers as a co-vocalist, creating a unique sound that molded Sludgehammer into the heavy and groovy band it is today.

In 2016, the LP The Fallen Sun was released; fast and chunky it was well received by fans and the media. Unfortunately, after the release of that album, the band parted ways with Szarota and Josh Stephney was brought on board to complete the album cycle.

With the lineup finalized, Sludgehammer hit the road and laid waste to every stage they set foot on, showing their fans that they were now stronger than ever. After a few successful tours in support of The Fallen Sun, it was time to start writing the next record which will be the first to feature Stephney on vocals. Sludgehammer is preparing to show their maturity by unleashing a second monstrous album “Antechamber” in 2019.

Mexico’s CIRROSIS have just released their latest music video for their next single “The Daydreamer’s Nightmare” off their upcoming album “The Collector of Truths” due out later in 2019. The album is the band’s second studio release and first in English to follow their debut Spanish language album “Reciclando Desesperación” released 20 years ago in 1999.

The video was directed by Carlos Hermosillo and showcases the band’s mix of death and thrash, suitable for fans of Fear Factory, Morbid Angel and Pestilence. The band has been lurking in the shadows and with Grammy-nominated producer Francisco ‘Chucky’ Oroz playing guitar they are finally ready to return to the underground metal scene and prove they can still write fast and technical music.

Even after 20 years, CIRROSIS is still in demand and they are looking forward to satisfying their longtime fans and impressing new ones.

“Fans will hear a more versatile and technical Cirrosis, it’s organized brutality and non-pretentious songs. CIRROSIS is a death metal band from Sonora, Mexico, formed in 1991 with the name Cirrosis by Francisco ‘Chucky’ Oroz and Sir Oz, being the only original members in the current lineup. Due to their technical capacity they incorporated early progressive elements and melodic solos, CIRROSIS quickly gained notoriety in the local and national scene. Their live performances were characterized by their intensity and fury, soon becoming a cult band. In 1996, Joseph Lev joined the band and they recorded their first demo “La Tierra de la Adicción”. In 1999, CIRROSIS entered the studio and recorded the album “Reciclando Desesperación”, with lyrics exclusively in Spanish.

In 2001, CIRROSIS decided to break up, so the members could continue with their personal and professional projects. In 2014, Concreto Records decided to reissue the album “Reciclando Desesperación” describing it as “the maladaptive sound that disturbed a style in Mexico that can give lessons to current and modern bands”.

20 years later, CIRROSIS is releasing their second studio album “The Collector of Truths” which will be released in 2019.
