Belgian melodic rockers Cellar Twins are sharing the single “$olace” in support of the re-release of “Duality”, their compelling 2019 full length coming out on January 29, 2021 via Rockshots Records.

“$olace” is a heavy prog-metal oriented song that conveys a reflection on materialism and the ephemerality of physical possessions. It asks the question of wanting versus needs, knowing that in the end, all will be equal.

A combination of ten infectious hook-laden tracks that blends raging modern instrumentals with powerful yet clear vocals, “Duality” can be enjoyed by laidback rockers to full-on metalheads. Fans of their 2017 EP, which was more rock/hard rock-oriented will notice the band has taken a heavier path regarding the songwriting while retaining clarity in the vocals, which has become their unexpected trademark combination.

Formed in 2014, Cellar Twins debut their first sounds in 2017 with their debut self-titled EP and lead single/ music video “My Shell”. The EP was the band’s stepping stone to greatness with its heavy rock riffs, soaring lead lines, deep lyrics and just all-around good time listen with its Belgian progressive/alternative rock flare.

Over the years, Cellar Twins have offered fans an intense journey into a unique universe where light and darkness, passion and rebellion all combine to showcase a multitude of musical horizons and assert itself as a new image of rock music. Follow The Shadow With Grimmreaper’s New Single “North Star” Off “The Tragedy of Being”

The third single leading up to the release of Grimmreaper’s debut album “The Tragedy of Being” is upon us; “North Star” comes forward as a cold, calculated, and meticulously crafted and can be heard via its premiere on SpaceUntravel’s YouTube channel HERE.

“The Tragedy of Being”, resulted from personal events in Logan Grimm’s life in which he saw his mind being blown to the cosmos, and found that he was drifting. In that drifting, this initial record was created. The drive to carry on against all odd is the theme for the single, as he explains:

“You need to rekindle yourself to move forward in life. Aim toward the highest thing you can conceptualize. You will not get it right the first time, but you must have an aim. You may think of aiming yourself towards a guide in the sky, the north star. But you’re not smart enough to know where the north star is, so you’ll aim for the south because of your ignorance. This is still a good path moving forward because you have decided to move. Your aim will come more into focus as you move.”

It has been a long process to get this solo record ready, and Grimm couldn’t be more excited to finally get it into the ears of metal fans everywhere. The album is a concept album that goes through the default conditions of life, tragedy, and suffering, and the options they present, nihilism and resentment, or transcendence and courage.

“The Tragedy of Being” is Grimmreaper’s debut album, and the solo project has been described as mixing technical styles like those of Dragonforce and Meshuggah with mainstream styles like Bullet For My Valentine and Five Finger Death Punch. It’s a dark record with many twists and turns, but never boring. The album is a journey through different tastes of metal, and while it’s meant to be enjoyed from start to finish, each song stands strong on its own.

The planetary and abstract album art represents the chaotic nature of the psyche, unknowable. Recommended for fans of Meshuggah, Dragonforce, and Devin Townsend.

Grimmreaper continues to tantalize listeners with the second single “Catastrophe of the Tragic Melancholies”, which is taken off the upcoming album “The Tragedy of Being”.

Calculated and cold, yet maintaining a glimmer of heartfelt hope, Grimmreaper wants to take listeners on an emotional and spiritual wave, from hopelessness in the pounding drums and echoing screams to happiness found in the grooves of the music and the hope of the lyrics.

Lyrically, Grimmreaper writes about what seems to be the default condition to consciousness, suffering. Humans seem to be presented with a world rife with torment and agony. The single, “Catastrophe of the Tragic Melancholies” attempt to make contact with Grimm’s shadow, from a Jungian perspective. He explains further:

“This is a naked look into the worst parts of my soul, my shadow, the parts of my soul and fantasies that I want to pretend don’t exist. Carl Jung popularized the idea of the shadow, the part of yourself you don’t want to see. Your dark fantasies, your malevolence, the things you turn a blind eye to, those make up the shadow, in a broad sense. This song is what happened when I realized I was capable of reprehensible actions, and that I could even enjoy them. I made contact with my shadow. The lyrics talk about how I have realized I’m not a good person, and I was very naive to think I was.”

“The Tragedy of Being” is a descent into the underworld to confront your own self. As a concept album, the tracks are listed in a very particular order to give a certain experience, but at the same time, every song is built to stand on its own as a powerful expression.

Listeners can experience the default conditions of life, tragedy, and suffering, and the options they present, nihilism and resentment, or transcendence and courage. Canada’s Sinful Ways have a loud new single “Burst Into Flames” out that is ready to launch listeners into a fray of melodic heavy metal.

This new single is a little different from what they have previously released and it shows that they are a diverse band who explore different sounds and can write different metal compositions from different genres. The result is a smooth blend of a few different genres in one refreshing, fast, melodic song. The band explains what they are trying to convey with this release:

“Sinful Ways wants fans to relate to our music in some way and make them feel connected to us as a band and our music. We want them to take their interpretation of the songs to relate in one way or another.”

Still a fairly new band when it comes to releasing music, Sinful Ways are still evolving their sound to create something refreshing and that they personally enjoy. To date, Sinful Ways’ sound consisted of ‘something for everyone’ by experimenting with various sounds and genres.

Sinful Ways is Canadian heavy metal that embraces the roots of the genre while also exploring thrash, groove, and metalcore.

The band began when Andres Pierce (guitar/vocals) and Brad Lake (guitar/vocals) were in high school. They went through many different name changes and tried out different drummers and singers for a long time before the Sinful Ways we know today was formed with the addition of Georgio Karapanos (guitar) and Dave Matlak (drums/backing vocals).

The first EP “To Hell Tonight” was launched in 2019 and the band cemented their heavy melodic metal with substance. Sinful Ways channel energy and enthusiasm both on their recordings and live. Grimmreaper Announces Concept Album “The Tragedy of Being” And First Single “Resent”

“The Tragedy of Being” Due Out February 2021

Grimmreaper comes from the mind of Logan Grimm, formed as a result of learning that he could write music. This whole project came from watching a psychologist on YouTube, Jordan Peterson, talk about the idea of slaying dragons in your life, cleaning your room, taking responsibility, and reaching your potential.

Peterson explained stories in the Bible and traditions of ancient cultures that shook Grimm from his cynicism on those matters, and he found the ability to express his ideas. He went from not playing the guitar to having a metal album written in about 18 months completely by himself. He explains the album in his own words:

“In the album, I make the final argument that life is suffering, but you should make the unlikely and illogical decision to make a pact or covenant with the highest conception of good and truth. You should treat this covenant like a relationship with a guiding force that, ultimately, is your best bet against misery and unnecessary suffering. You could call that idea of the highest good as the universe, or truth, or the stars. I choose to call it God.”

The single “Resent” was the first song Grimm ever recorded in his life, it took about two years to finish. It is a nasty song, going into the resentment that can accrue in yourself from losing in life. Failing, being low on the social hierarchy, not being wanted… these things can easily and quickly bring you to the conclusion that life is not worth pursuing, and more than that, that existence itself is corrupt beyond repair. A losing game. A zero-sum catastrophe.

Montreal’s Endast have been silent since 2015 after calling it quits and ending their decade long career. However, one of the silver linings of the global pandemic was the core members of the band reuniting organically and committing to release a new single. As vocalist James Arsenian puts it:

“My brother Chris presented me and the other boys in the band with the idea of writing a new Endast tune. We haven’t written music together in years, so we were all pretty stoked to put this together, even if we had to do it remotely and apart from each other. The result is a familiar sound with a newfound level of aggression. This is just the start”

Montreal based metalcore band Endast toured North America heavily in support of four full-length albums from 2004-2015 before calling it quits five years ago. With the world in a state of turmoil in 2020, the core members of the band found their way back to each other organically, seeking out the familiar. New Album ‘The False Sanctuary’ Available As Pay What You Want

Edmonton’s ALL ELSE FAILS have just announced a new video for the single ‘Thrice Broken’ of their 2018 release “The False Sanctuary”.

The video was recorded in 2018, internationally with vocalist/guitarist Barrett Klesko in Joshua Tree, USA and guitarist Mike Sands in Örebro, Sweden. Klesko has the following to say about the single, which is slower than what is typically expected from AEF:

“It’s analogous to where the band was in regards to our lineup over the past couple of years, all of us growing further apart due to new interests, but still having passion for the project. This is the last piece of music that Mike and I collaborated on, and I’m super proud of it. It’s totally a different approach for us (a ballad style remake of a previous song), and an awesome way to close off this chapter of AEF as we dive into the new one.”

It’s been 2 years since the release of The Forever Lie, and already the themes of financial corruption, abuse of religious power, and political scandal seem tame. I wrote this one half with a sarcastic smirk, half with a crippling sense that we are well past the point of return.”
