Vancouver’s Ninjaspy Announce ‘Jump Ya Bones Tour’ Featuring New Music From Upcoming Album; Crowd Funding Campaign For New Release

Vancouver, BC’s high flying, super entertaining, much adored cross breed of metal and ska, NINJASPY (a band of brothers literally), are proud to announce their ‘Jump Ya Bones Tour’ in support of their crowd funding efforts for their next full length album since releasing their cult followed debut ‘Pi Nature’ in 2007 produced by GGGarth Richardson and Ben Kaplan.

“It has been 7 years since we’ve put out a full length record. The long wait ends this spring 2014, as we prepare to go into the studio with brand new material this May. But before we do, we need your support to make this new album a reality, and you’ll have many opportunities to throw us a few bones during the IndieGogo Campaign beginning April 1st and at any of the Western Canadian tour dates where we will perform all of our new songs.” states the band.

Following ‘Pi Nature’, Ninjaspy has toured across Canada on multiple occasions plus touring Japan in 2010 (watch video here), winning over legions of fans along the way. In 2013, they unleashed their musical graphic novel ‘No Kata’ with the single ‘Skaingkh (The Skank)’ (animated version can be viewed below).

“I am so scared of this…but that’s good.”  – Bob Ezrin

“Think a 3 piece Mr. Bungle with Patton’s vocals taking a turn for the better, add some laser beams and dreads, turn it all up to eleven, stand the fuck back and enjoy.” – Ground Report , NYC

“Pay attention Canadian recording industry, Ninjaspy is on the rise and the people’s salvation is at hand.” -Absolute Underground Magazine

“Soaring vocal harmonies are there one minute and replaced with a throaty growl the next. “Pure Sketch” is a sure-fire modern rock radio hit, as the post-grunge frame work gets stirred up into a tasty seventies inspired soul/funk soup”. – Metal-Rules.com

“Bloody well are entertaining. All dreadlocks and fricking samurai swords, giant pants and flying limbs. Not a speck of the stage was left untouched by this band’s chaotic feet.”  – Cord Magazine

“The album itself is a blend of Hardcore, Punk, Ska, Rock & Metal, a recipe for brilliance. I urge everyone to check out this band, you may just re-evaluate your existence” – Infinitybasement

About:

Ninjaspy arose with the dawn of the year of six, embodied by the Triad in Blood: Vocalist/Guitarist Joel Parent, Drummer Adam Parent and Bassist Tim Parent. Rising above the mire of their faceless six year muse, they have focused their sights on the mission objectives now at hand: Swift, surgical amalgamation of a spectrum of styles and the subsequent eradication of narrow mindedness. Advocating total freedom of expression and infiltrating every earthen sinew in their chosen path in order to stay grounded and facilitate real connections with others; interactions that are crucial for a meaningful human existence. In correlation with a commitment to people before all else, support for Ninjaspy has grown with every show, every tour and every industry contact.

With the help of prolific producers, GGGarth Richardson and Ben Kaplan, they entered the next level of their career, releasing their debut cd πature (Pi Nature) in the fall of 2007. Ever reworking new ideas to their utmost potential, 2013 saw the release of the follow-up multi-media EP/Graphic Novella “NINJASPY NO KATA” with production by the same team of producers.

Equipped and, indeed, armed with their own musical weaponry, (a derivation of hardcore, ska, grunge, reggae, funk and more) Ninjaspy aim to engage people with radical ideas on a level plane. And above all else, to reiterate to people over and again, the importance of victory in the eternal conflict with the skank; the vicious and relentless evil that lives in every human being. The skank that is overcome each time Ninjaspy has the honour of sharing their crafts with people in a live environment, where dancing destroys the enemy. The enemy whose defeat is apparent as one witnesses the total freedom felt at every show by the people in the pit who rise up to throw the skank down.

Nominees List: http://2014edmontonmusicawards.blogspot.ca/2014/02/and-nominees-are.html

About: Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, the Edmonton-based band are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead them to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few).

Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past. Add in the intense and relentless drumming provided by Bryan Newbury (recently recruited by Canadian prog/death powerhouse INTO ETERNITY), as well as the well-rounded rhythm provided by Drew Copland on guitar and Mike Puff on bass, and you get a monster that is only now being unleashed upon the masses with vocalist Jesse Berube topping things off with a combination of brutal death growls and Tomas Lindberg-esqe high shrieks, which will be plenty noticeable on their new album ‘Infection Legacy’.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist  Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music that Chimaira, Machine Head, and Hatebreed would be proud of, and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.

With three full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title,” “Sandwich,” and their holiday album, “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” – the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

After a successful 2013 that saw these touring ninja warriors hit the road for multiple shows on the ‘Our Tour Can Beat Up Your Tour’, ‘Blow Your Fingers Off’ summer tour, their late summer dates with American Head Charge plus appearances at summer fests that included Rockapalooza, A2 Fest, Breast Fest Biker Bash, and Dirtfest.  The band finally took a break in last months of the year and held a successful crowd funding campaign (thank you video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSeQHqMCfJI), where they are now currently in studio recording their follow up to 2011’s ‘Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs’.

BREACHED‘S EP ‘Left Behind’ was released during October 2013 and was recorded in between Canadian and US dates during the spring and summer months of that year while the band toured to promote their second EP ‘Revolution Sessions’, an acoustic version of their debut EP with a bonus stripped down cover of Alice In Chains’ ‘No Excuses’, which was also joined by a series of in-studio music videos.

Creating an alluring blend of melodious, metal-tinged rock ‘n roll, it didn’t take long for Breached to start winning over fans with their live shows and five-song self-titled EP. The band’s tight harmonies and nail-hitting screams combined with overdriven guitars, intricate tempos and powerful lyrics provide a unique blend that audiences can’t seem to get enough of.

The EP can be purchased on iTunes here and at the band’s official website here.

Track Listing: Left Behind
1. Left Behind (4:04)
2. Piece By Piece (2:59)
3. All We Need (3:09)
4. Brighter Days (3:51)
5. Here With Me (3:17)
Total Time: 17:20

“The Left Behind EP, is the latest offering from Canadian hard rockers Breached, and man it is quite impressive…Disc opener, “Left Behind”, works off a killer riff and features overdriven guitars and a captivating chorus which led me to be immediately sucked into the EP. The remaining four songs follow suit and are solid hard rock tunes in their own right, but at only 17 minutes long, I found this EP to be a bit of a tease.” – Pure Grain Audio

“Breached really delivers on the goal of making emotionally charged music. Vocalist Bobby Noakes has an incredibly powerful voice as it soars over the heavy distortion-laden guitars and precise explosions of the rhythm section.” – Rock Freaks

“a hugely enjoyable miniature peek into the potentially huge future which lies ahead of this quartet.” – Planet Mosh

““Left Behind” is well-structured, well-written and well-executed in every way! The band consists of 4 incredibly talented musicians: Bobby Noakes (Vocals), Mike Diesel (Guitar), Ryan Alexander (Bass) and Neil Uppal (Drums). You can tell, just from listening to a few seconds of their music, that they are masters of their crafts!” – New-Transcendence

The title track had me singing along on my second listen and swaying along to the chorus, before launching into Piece By Piece with a more upbeat, punky sound with a few good screams mixed in, and the feel continues with All We Need. The passion that has gone into the writing and production is evident, and when the tempo drops for the next track, that energy is transferred to a different frequency and you really feel the lyrics of Brighter Days. This is for me where the vocal talent of Bobby Noakes shines the most, a real arms in the air song.” – Wyrd Ways

The Canadian lads of BREACHED are quite an interesting band. Their songs caught my heart with their melodic and easy to listen attributes. You can of course label them, but I think that it wouldn’t be wise. Noakes has fantastic voice and show a great promise. Any Rock fan or Metalhead should grab this one, this much more than to the open minded.“ – Metal Temple
