Debut Album “Rubidium” Out Aug 2025 via Exitus Stratagem Records

The wait is over. Blackened death metal collective Visitant unleashes their highly anticipated debut album “Rubidium” via Exitus Stratagem Records, delivering seven tracks of ritualistic, unrelenting music that weaves ethereal elements into haunting soundscapes. The album represents what the band calls ‘shadow work’, a visceral exploration of the bleakest parts of being human.

“Rubidium” showcases the full collaborative power of Visitant‘s seasoned lineup across 32 minutes of immersive music. Taylor Tidwell (Unaligned) serves as the primary architect of the band’s crushing riffs, while Anthony Lusk-Simone’s (Abiotic, Lattermath) orchestral passages and thunderous drumming build the cinematic worlds that define each composition. Kilian Duarte’s (Abiotic, Scale the Summit) monstrous bass work drives the album’s forward momentum, even contributing a guitar solo on “Envies Lament”. Chelsea Marrow’s (Voraath, Video Games: DOOM ETERNAL, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II) commanding vocals tie everything together, transforming personal experiences into ghost stories that channel the essence of restless, vengeful spirits. Thomas Weidick, on guitar, recently joined their live lineup this past June.

The album explores themes of grief, loss, betrayal, vengeance, time lost, and regret through seven carefully constructed tracks that showcase Visitant‘s ability to transcend genre boundaries.

The band shares their thoughts on the record:

Tony: “Imagine Dimmu and UADA being smashed together like action figures during recess.”

Kilian: “This record, I think, threads the needle, blending a lot of different genres. But yes, imagine a bunch of metal bands as action figures in the best Super Smash bros type of way.”

Taylor: “While the genre-bending is ever-present, the release as a whole works cohesively, every part making up a piece of the puzzle.”

Chelsea: “I really do think it’s genre-bending as well. I didn’t actively approach it with that in mind, but I went for what I felt each part needed or made me feel. It was a freeing experience. I was hoping we could create something that was impactful. I think we did that. After you listen to the album from beginning to end, you feel like you were just on the biggest journey. It evokes all sorts of feels. Like damn.. I feel like I was audibly hit by a big ol’ bus. In a good way… if there was a good way!”

The album was produced and mixed by Anthony Lusk-Simone and mastered by Jason Fisher, with striking artwork created by Chelsea Marrow in collaboration with Maxwell Aston for layout and logo design. Every element of “Rubidium” has been crafted to create what the band describes as ‘epic, moving, bleak, beautiful, and uncompromising’ music.

For fans of Gojira, Opeth, Naglfar, and Between the Buried and Me, ‘Rubidium’ offers a visceral experience that promises to resonate for years to come. Visitant celebrates the album release with their live debut at Michigan Metal Fest, bringing their haunting world to audiences with an intense live experience that matches the cinematic scope of their recorded work.

Also presented through a video (this time we get to see the band perform), it was inspired by a very dark dream in which Chelsea attempted to bring a murdered friend back to life and lost her own life in the process, leaving the friend trapped in a hellish limbo, bound to a body over which their control had been lost to dark spirits. To be sure, this song is also musically extravagant. It features a lot of borderline deranged and technically demanding high-speed maneuvers (a tour de force that would make lots of tech-death bands jealous) but it’s also hallucinatory, and unhinged in many other respects. It further demonstrates that Chelsea Marrow can really sing, as well as howl like a wolf and scream like a goblin. Narcotic Wasteland, fronted by ex-Nile guitarist/vocalist Dallas Toler-Wade along with drummer Joseph Howard (Fields of Elysium, Neuromorphic) and bassist Kenji Tsunami (Ontogeny), will be hitting the road for the “Annihilation of Wasteland Tour” (dates listed below). On this tour, they will be celebrating the 20-year release of “Annihilation of the Wicked”, in which Dallas will perform two of the songs he wrote for the album: “Lashed to the Slave Stick” and “The Burning Pits of the Duat”, giving Nile fans the unique opportunity to hear these tracks played live by the original voice and composer. Meshing styles like post-metal, gothic/doom, punk, post-hardcore/screamo, post-rock, shoegaze, black/death metal, and alternative rock, Italian experimental metal outfit SVNTH‘s fourth studio album, “Pink Noise Youth,” is ready for its coronation on April 18th, 2025, via These Hands Melt Records.

Before it officially unleashes digitally and physically (CD / Vinyl), SVNTH has teamed up with Decibel Magazine for the album’s full-stream premiere, which can be heard HERE.

The band comments on the release of “Pink Noise Youth”:

“If the previous record Spring in Blue was about facing life’s struggles from a childhood perspective, Pink Noise Youth is based on exploring awareness as an adult in late youth, trying to give a voice to a generation emotionally unstable and chaotic as pink noise. It is the second part of the band’s own “trilogy of colors”. Musically, we intended to stay outside of genres and labels where elements of hardcore, metal, shoegaze, post-rock, and unconventional instrumentation such as electric indian sitar, classical, and 12-string guitars are blended in the same pot. People will surely welcome it with curiosity.”

Vocalist and bassist Rodolfo Ciuffo adds:

“Lyrically, most of the inspiration comes from personal life events, relationships, and conversations with people and reflections about existential topics; in several cases, it also comes from movies and books.”

Following SVNTH‘s 2020 “Spring in Blue”, “Pink Noise Youth” demonstrates the band’s continued evolution, deliberately transcending genre boundaries. The album promises to take listeners on a cohesive journey through its carefully crafted track sequence, maintaining the band’s tradition of creating conceptually unified works. The music from SVNTH has always aimed to give the listener emotional vibes. This record, in particular, is conceptually based on exploring late youth emotions, and the music created reflects such instability.

With a various background of musical influences and artistic inspirations, SVNTH (written all caps and pronounced “Seventh”, formerly “Seventh Genocide”) from Rome, Italy has been shaping a unique equilibrium of sounds through the years moving across a huge variety of directions on the palette of contemporary alternative music to create a distinctive soundtrack for inner emotions, life scenarios, and existentialist questioning. In its opening phase a lilting guitar gently and mysteriously rings, gilded in reverb, eventually paired with a gritty and growling bass chewing gravel way down below. It’s an entrancing but still somewhat menacing overture, but you can begin to feel the intensity and turmoil build as that phase evolves and the music in the upper reaches begins to swarm and sear and the drums start hammering. And then, with the briefest pause, the band shift, and charge. As the rhythm section surges, the guitars still brilliantly ring but pulsate like hot blood in the veins, and the vocals are even more scorching. The bassist seizes attention here, but so do the vocals as they change to mid-ranging singing with a gloomy cast. Yet the fiery race resumes, fierce but also stricken, and then accelerates even more. The guitars writhe and wail; the somber but soulful singing returns; the bass fervently throbs; the screams join in; keyboards ring as if yearning; and the music builds to a distressing finale. AUGURIUM Takes A Fresh Look At Canadian Death Metal With “Ancient Grimoire”

New Album “Unearthly Will” Out August 2023

Canada’s Augurium was formed in the summer of 2015 by like-minded individuals who have a drive and a thirst for heavy, filthy riffs and low guttural screams. Augurium quickly completed their line-up and played their first show supporting Evilheart (Mexico) and jumped into the studio to record their debut EP “Omen” along with touring throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Their first full-length “Unhallowed Ascendance” was unleashed in 2018 and was a stepping stone of straight-up brutal death metal for the band. Evolving over the years, along with a new lineup, their sound has transformed now into a more refined, darkened, carefully crafted monstrous offering with their sophomore album “Unearthly Will” this coming August 2023.

“Unearthly Will” was a challenging, yet rewarding one for Augurium. All of the writing and recording was done remotely by each individual member at their homes (3 members in Saskatchewan – Regina, Saskatoon and 2 members in British Columbia). Their independent technical knowledge and their constant communication with each other of the quintet made this project come to fruition naturally.

The first single off the forthcoming album is “Ancient Grimoire”, a haunting and guttural monstrosity. The band explains more:

“Musically this was the first time we’ve ever introduced any form of clean singing into an Augurium song. Although it’s blended with some very evil and filthy guttural lines, it’s honestly haunting when you hear all of the vocal lines paired with the orchestral background pieces. Lyrically there is a theme of finding synchronicities between books across a wide variety of authors and time periods in an abstract fashion.”

“Unearthly Will” is a fresh take on what Canadian death metal has to offer. With slamming riffs in a variety of time signatures and genre-blending aspects, over a finely executed percussion and rhythm section. It is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Septicflesh, and Belphegor.

In addition to the full-length’s release, Augurium will be setting off on tour in August and September with select Western Canadian dates. (listed below)

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. About: Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, the Edmonton-based band are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead them to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few).

Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past.
