Newfoundland, Canada’s black metal duo ARTACH announces the release of their latest album “Morrigan…Goddess of War” due out on March 21st, 2025 via Depressive Illusions Records. This third full length represents the band’s strongest material yet. It’s a relentless assault of blackened thrash metal that captures the intensity and fury the duo have always strived for. From crushing riffs to searing melodies, every track on this release is forged with raw passion.

Today, Artach unveils the lead single “Macha”, one of the three songs that are part of the Morrigan trilogy on the album with the songs that also includes “Badb”, and “Nemain”.

“Macha, one of the Morrígan, was known for her prophetic visions and her role as a fierce protector of warriors. She is sometimes considered one aspect of the Morrígan, a trio of war goddesses.

The three goddesses, and what elements they represent, that make up the Morrígan in Irish mythology are:
Macha – War, sovereignty, horses.
Badb – Battle, death, chaos.
Nemain – Frenzy, panic, terror.
Together, they represent different aspects of war, fate, and destruction in Celtic mythology.”

Artach is a two-man black metal band (Sruthán: Guitar/Bass, Fíochmhar: Battery/Vokills/Keys) based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Being from the foggiest, snowiest, wettest, windiest, and gloomiest capital city in Canada, one should not be surprised that this fuels the creation of Black Metal. Their inspiration comes from the land, nature, the bleak weather of the Canadian North, and influential black metal bands.

Since the duo’s formation in the spring of 2019, Artach has been consistently releasing new music. The band’s debut album “Chronicles of a Black Winter” was released digitally during February 2020 and later unleashed on physical CD by Depressive Illusions Records. In 2021, the band returned with their next offering “Sworn To Avenge”, a full-length scourge of raw and relentless bruting gloom. In 2024, Artach took an experimental direction with the EP “Sgrios”, which was a black metal spin on industrial metal sounds.

Now in 2025, they unleash their third full length offering with “Morrigan…Goddess of War” for release in mid-March.

With influences in thrash, ODM, and blackened and progressive death metal, Sin of God‘s sacrificial offering “Blood Bound” will please both old and new-school death metal fans at the same time. Exitus Stratagem Records announces their signing of Hungarian extreme metal masters SIN OF GOD for their fourth studio album “Blood Bound” out February 2025. Following their album “Aenigmata” released in 2016, “Blood Bound” has come a long way from its writing inception in 2019, and unfortunate setbacks with lineup changes and COVID to finally make its way to the studio in 2022/23 with the mixing and mastering done by the super-talented Sam Winslow in 2024.

With influences in thrash, ODM, and blackened and progressive death metal, Sin of God‘s next sacrificial offering will please both old and new-school death metal fans at the same time. This new full-length presents a collection of variations that exhibit brutality and softness. It is something fans have heard in the past from the band but it has never sounded like this.

“We all think fans will love it. It’s somewhat different from its predecessors. It’s more complex and based on modern death metal. We built Blood Bound musically on contrasts. There are amazingly fast parts (260 BPM,) but really slow parts as well.” adds guitarist Tamás Kis.

Exploring our present society, “Blood Bound” resonates with everything surrounding us, from the good and the bad to the beautiful and ugly, to life and death.

“We are in decline and we haven’t got much time before we hit the bottom. There is less and less beauty in our present world. We are rapidly marching towards the rotting chaos. People do nothing about it. They destroy but do not build. So let it be! As you look at our album artwork, it is metaphorically based on humanity’s current state in the light of human history. We wanted it to be realized in the style of Renaissance paintings therefore the contrast is extremely sharp between beauty and uglyness. Pure and evil. Perfect and deformed. There are also religious references, and Biblical characters, too.” says Kis.

“Blood Bound” is not a concept album, but it is united by the pain and rage that boils inside and felt over seven tracks that are simple and raw, yet ferocious and gentle. To give fans their first experience with the album, Sin of God is unveiling the first single “No Return” accompanied by an animated video. The song is about a person who cannot get rid of drugs and sacrifices everything is going to hell.

“No Return is our favorite song on Blood Bound. It is the essence of what we want to express musically and lyrically as well. The fall of our present society. That’s what it’s all about. Our vocalist Tamás Schupkégel wrote the lyrics. On first hearing it is about a drug addict descending into madness, falling into his very own hell which he created from the many pains he experienced and committed towards others during his life. We consume, we devour, we destroy. We create non-existent problems for ourselves while not dealing with the real ones. It’s so comfortable. Sticking our heads in the sand. Only our comfort is important. We are addicted to our ego. While the trees and waters disappear and only the sand remains. The emptiness. The loneliness. The pain. We build our hell. And there is no return!”

Set to rattle mosh pits around the globe with their forthcoming album “Think Before You Think” at the end of this November, Canadian demolition thrash crew MUTANK is injecting onto screens their late music video “Bad Magnitude”.

“This is an easy one: there are no lyrics. An ode to thrash, this track is meant for fans to stretch their neck and bang away to the best instrumental you’ve ever heard!” adds the band.

It tells the story of their mascot, Shepherd: a goat-skull-wearing Antichrist who raises an army of animals to liberate the earth from humanity’s constant wars and greed. This high-concept narrative is delivered with Thirteen Goats‘ signature blend of infernal riffs, huge hooks, and uniquely theatrical songwriting. They comment on the album:

“We think fans are going to get everything they loved about our first record, only more of it—and more focused. We’re exploring similar themes on this release, but we’ve connected them by weaving a cohesive story throughout these nine tracks that gives more context to the different musical and tonal shifts. Each song on the album is part of a broader narrative that explores themes of disillusionment, radicalization, and rebellion as Shepherd and his 12 demon goats wage their crusade. “Years of Chains” is an EP that we wrote years ago but didn’t get a chance to properly record due to multiple difficulties coming our way, after years we have chosen a list of the songs from the originals we have for the EP. The recording process was fun yet we looked for perfection to make the songs as we imagined them with the best quality that we could make.”

Known for their unique fusion of thrash metal with djent, nu metal, oriental, and groove metal influences, DUNE‘s sound is a sonic journey that defies traditional genre boundaries. The EP artwork represents the struggles that we all have, having parts of the lyrics from each song pouring into the skull head and then pouring from the eyes and mouth, a representation of struggles and spiral into madness and to a dark place.

“Years Of Chains” explores themes around culture, urban legends, and personal issues, providing listeners with a unique perspective on heavy music. Kicking off their 2024 Summer tour dates on May 31st that are in honor of guitarist Dallas Toler Wade’s 50th birthday and the 10th anniversary of Narcotic Wasteland‘s self-titled debut album, the trio is unshackling their latest single “Barbarian” for the masses. The song will be featured on the band’s forthcoming third full-length “Digital Cordyceps” out on Megaforce Records in 2024 (release date TBD).

Dallas Toler-Wade comments on the new track:

“Barbarian is one of my favorite songs I have written so far. The guitar work is thrashy but also has a neo-classical element to it. I love the mid-tempo churning bass drums that is no secret at this point. Lyrically the song is about my personal feelings on how I want to live my life, but also an observation of what is going on in the world right now. I am sure I am not the only one who sees we are living in an oligarchic society. Meaning we are in a society where only a chosen few have most of the political power. This has always disgusted me. I never needed a political leader or organized religion to tell me how to act, what to read or listen to, and who to vote for. I think it is all complete self-serving bullshit and I refuse to have any part in it. I am barbaric. I follow no rules but my own. I refuse to participate in a society that is untrustworthy, narcissistic, and completely selfish. So I choose a more nomadic life as far away as possible from all of the madness. I am here to entertain. It is my calling. I hope you enjoy the song!!!!! Thanks to all of the fans for your continued support and inspiration!!! Let’s rise above and take our freedom back!!!!!”
