Combining influences from Tool, Mastodon, The Agonist, Gojira and A Perfect Circle; Vancouver progressive metal band KOSM‘s sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark on Vancouver’s metal scene and beyond with cover videos along with singles “Ancient Heart” and “Space Mead”. Set to unleash their debut album “Cosmonaut”, a release loosely based on themes from stories by H.P. The band explains “Cosmonaut”:

“Cosmonaut is a concept album loosely based on the weird-fiction of HP Lovecraft, and borrowing concepts from the science-fiction of Frank Herbert, and Roger Zelazny. The album follows a cosmonaut on a cosmic journey through time and space; from the earthly confines of mortal life, to ascendancy as an immaterial and omnipotent being. The cosmonaut’s journey is essentially symbolic, serving as a commentary on the human experience: a journey from confusion and anger, to transcendence and self-understanding.”

“Cosmonaut” will be released on November 16th and available on all major digital platforms Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play.

New EP “The War Inside” Out Now!

Orlando, Florida’s MEKA NISM is premiering their new video ‘Black Sky’. The track is the band’s most intimate song off their latest EP “The War Inside”. The band created the video in hopes that the beautiful and terrifying imagery inside the lyrics and melodies will help those listening to dig down deep into their soul, which follows their EP’s message of standing up to face your inner demons, conquer your internal battles, and to help realize that you can change your life for the better. 

The band adds:

“This song stands out amongst the rest on our EP, mostly due to the piano work. We wanted to take you on an emotional journey from start to finish. With some amazing performances from the very talented Masami Koshikawa, the Gothic ballerina Lady Cimorene from Phantasmagoria, the spiritual ceremony work of actual Shamans John Moore and Tino eagle heart along with the incredible Delilah Bryan signing in ASL; Black Sky comes to life on screen with the biggest attempt in universal communication possible. We had the pleasure of working with Jim Dougherty again, as he has done the last two videos for this EP. In the video, we chose black and white to represent the spiritual contrast between trauma and transformation. So we wanted to strip down and show ourselves to be as transparent and genuine as possible.”

Vancouver progressive metal band KOSM is proud to announce they will be releasing their debut album “Cosmonaut” on November 16th, 2018. Combining influences from Tool, Mastodon, The Agonist, Gojira and A Perfect Circle; their sound is dynamic and unquestionably lethal. Since their induction in 2016, they have been making their mark in Vancouver’s metal scene and beyond with cover videos, and most recently with two singles “Ancient Heart” and “Space Mead”. “Cosmonaut” is an LP loosely based on themes from the H.P. Lovecraft and other with each song meant to walk the listener through a story from beginning to end. With even more material in the world and future albums planned, KOSM summons you to join them on this journey full of experimental and progressive metal.

Orlando, Florida’s MEKA NISM’s sound is powerful, metallic, aggressive, melodic, and in your face. A band that fires on all cylinders and with the most charismatic front-woman “Meka”; the band has returned in 2018 with their new EP “The War Inside” released earlier this spring on May 10th to follow their three previous releases “Live From The Machine Shop” (Live CD) (2016), “The Shift” (EP) (2015) and “The Dance At The End of The World” (EP) (2013).  The band has supported legends like Mastodon, Gojira, The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, Otep and In Flames over the years along with most recently Jonathan Davis (Korn) this past May.
The band’s new EP “The War Inside” stands for the ability to face your inner demons, conquer your internal battles, and to help realize that you can change your life for the better. That message is evident in their new music video for their infectious song “Trailblazer”, a heavy, fast tune that revolves around the idea of not letting regret or tragedy stop you from living your life to the fullest while you can. Inspired by Metallica, Joan Jett, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Ghost, MEKA NISM’s sound is powerful, metallic, aggressive, melodic, and in your face.  They are a band that fires on all cylinders and with the most charismatic front-woman “Meka”; they have supported legends like Mastodon, Gojira, The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, Otep and In Flames. Preparing for the release of their new EP “The War Inside” on May 11th, the Orlando based band announces they will be performing a series of Florida show dates in May and June, which includes being local opening support for Jonathan Davis (Korn) plus hosting a local EP listening party at Park Ave CDs. “The War Inside” follows their three previous releases “Live From The Machine Shop” (Live CD) (2016), “The Shift” (EP) (2015) and “The Dance At The End of The World” (EP) (2013).MEKA NISM have also unleashed two singles off the EP, “Trailblazer” and the title track. Both songs inspire messages of battling both internal and external demons with a positive choice and knowing you can persevere when times feel like they have no escape.

MEKA NISM Premiere Video “The War Inside” via New Noise Mag

Set To Release New EP In 2018

The Cambridge English Dictionary defines mechanism as ‘a mechanical contrivance; structure of a machine.’ Well, that dictionary will soon need a new entry, which reads ‘Meka Nism: totally uncontrived, a new structure of metal music’. Originally formed in 2006 under the steampunk-sounding name of Meka Nism and the Rusty Years; the band, now known as the more streamlined MEKA NISM, has mutated into the awesome future-forming metallic behemoth it is now. Featuring a band firing on all cylinders and the most charismatic front-woman, MEKA NISM have supported legends like Mastodon, Gojira, The Offspring, Limp Bizkit, Otep and In Flames. The very diversity of their support slots speaks volumes for MEKA NISM, they are a true 21st century band, building new edifices on what has come before.Inspired by Metallica, Joan Jett, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Ghost, MEKA NISM’s sound is powerful, metallic, aggressive, melodic, and in your face. Set to unleash their new EP “The War Inside” later this year to follow their three previous releases “Live From The Machine Shop” (Live CD) (2016), “The Shift” (EP) (2015), “The Dance At The End of The World” (EP) (2013), the Orlando based band has teamed up with New Noise Magazine for the video premiere of the EP’s title track.

“We are all very excited to finally unleash our new single, “The War Inside”, to the masses! We wanted to make a song that a lot of people could relate to, especially now a days with everything going on in the world. We all have internal battles, we all have external battles, whichever one it is, there is always a positive option or choice, even though it may not be as visible. The video portrays an internal struggle from lead singer Ms. Meka, as she confronts her inner demons and finds a way out!”
