Out Now! Rockshots Records presents epic power metal with a twist of Greek Mythology from Montreal, Canada’s Walk With Titans, and their debut album “Olympian Dystopia”.

Efficient, epic, well executed, heavy, and mythical, this is what power metal fans will discover from 50 minutes of Walk With Titans’ first full-length “Olympian Dystopia” brought forth by Nikko Cyr (drums), Nick Maugy (rhythm guitar), Louis Jacques (lead guitar) (ex-Blackguard), Lydz Grondin (bass), and Jonathan Vézina (vocals & orchestrations). Greatly inspired by Greek mythology and the band’s perspectives on life, it’s a unique trait that will not leave you indifferent.

”We are stocked to have our album ‘Olympian Dystopia’ finally released. We couldn’t be happier about them sharing our songs. Our music has been described as if Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire, and Angra had a child. We’re very happy to bring ‘Olympian Dystopia to the world! Making it was quite a ride and we had so much fun, we hope fans will have as much fun listening to it!” adds guitarist Louis Jacques.

Walk With Titans is recommended for fans of Angra, Stratovarius, and Rhapsody of Fire.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 31, 2021

For fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Stratovarius, Queensryche, Nightwish

Rockshots Records: Finland Prog Power Ultimatium New Music Video “(Don’t) Fear The Silence”

New Album “Virtuality” Out Now!

Finland power proggers Ultimatium are sharing their new music video “(Don’t) Fear The Silence” in support of their epic theme album “Virtuality” released this past November via Rockshots Records.

Music Video – https://youtu.be/DfZgp-32Woo

The band comments on the track:

“(Don’t) Fear the Silence is the most beautiful and saddest song on the album. Heroes have lost one of their own and they must say goodbyes in order to prepare for the final battle against the villain… This song is the first acoustic ballad from Ultimatium, with the ending chorus bringing in all the instruments. Listeners beware: the song features a sudden, hidden bass solo!”

Ultimatium was birthed out the deep forests of Suomussalmi, Finland. Their 4th studio full-length “Virtuality” follows their independently released “Vis Vires Infinitus” (2015), “New Dawn” (2004, Mastervox Records), and “Hwainoo” (2008, Mastervox Records).

The premise behind “Virtuality” is an introduction of a storyline of four gamers getting stuck in a virtual reality game in a near-future setting. Packed with five amazing lead vocalists, Peter James Goodman (Conquest, ex-Virtuocity), Jukka Nummi (ex-Myon), Emily Leone, Tomi Viiltola (ex-Dreamtale, Perpetual Rage, Viilto) and Matti Auerkallio (Katra, Manzana, SoulFallen), “Virtuality” is a unique storyline about the virtual world, and the dangers of sharing everything in social media, along with up-tempo power metal songs combined with darker elements.

The story album is backed up with lots of background vocals, sound effects and a “narrator”/system voice synthesized with Amazon’s Alexa.

The album introduces the best parts of power and progressive metal combined, including easier up-tempo songs, but also long, progressive mid-tempo tracks. The songs take influence from such bands as Stratovarius, Dream Theater, Symphony X and Rainbow. Especially on tracks “Digital Tower” and “Ghost of Yesterday” where influences from Ronnie James Dio and Ritchie Blackmore are easily heard.

Out now as of May 7th, Nightshadow unleashes their next slab of infectious strong-hearted power-punching metal with their new full-length “Strike Them Dead” to follow their 2017 self-titled debut EP.

The album can be heard in full on the following platforms:
Spotify – https://spoti.fi/2PYKR6d

Lyric video – “Ripper” – https://youtu.be/GYqVZaEYbl4

Making waves on their local scene of San Diego, CA, Nightshadow has been called upon as one of the most opening supports for touring acts such as Appice Brothers, The Iron Maidens, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime, Marty Friedman, Hammerfall, Beastö Blancö, and Adrenaline Mob to name a few.

Unleashing the rhythmic beasts with fast, aggressive, and heavy melodic passion, Nightshadow brings unforgiving committed focus to epic power metal with the rich, powerful, dynamic force in the vocals of singer Brian Dell; thunderous, exhilarated energy of drummer Sean Woodman; dominating, double lead shredding magic in guitarists Nick Harrington and Danny Fang; rounding out with the crushing, methodical thumping of bassist Chris Bader laying a secure concrete foundation.

Fast, aggressive, powerful, and loud, Nightshadow‘s new album “Strike Them Dead” features 10 relentless tracks riddled in classic, power, and thrash metal influences. From start to finish, the album showcases their brilliant harmonies, along with a medley of guitar shedding from band axemen Nick Harrington and Danny Fang.

“We are very happy that this album is finally seeing the light of day. It’s our first full-length album and it’s been in the works for a couple of years, so it’s exciting that it is finally done. We got killer artwork for the cover, great production, and it sounds awesome. For a small band like us, having a debut album that looks and sounds as good as it does is really exciting! From the first song to the last song, it’s high-energy, it flows really well, it’s just non-stop. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it!” adds the band.

New Album “Virtuality” Out Now!
Finland power proggers Ultimatium are sharing their new music video “Digital Tower” in support of their epic theme album “Virtuality” released this past November via Rockshots Records.

Music Video – https://youtu.be/PAyIWipJLYI

The band comments on the track:

“Digital Tower is a very aggressive, but low-tempo song, the heaviest and most symphonic song we’ve ever made. The song is heavily influenced by these three songs: Rainbow – Stargazer / Stratovarius – Season of Change / Black Sabbath – Heaven & Hell. And shows the full potential of the character sang by Jukka Nummi. As seen on the video, this song has very special meaning for Jukka since Matti gave him the full artistic freedom to use his Ronnie James Dio-vocalising style at full strength.”

“These guys…were doing double freaking leads…It was one of the most insane, incredible things that I’ve seen…it was kind of like Iron Maiden…it was inf****kingsane. Check these guys out.” ~ Keeper Magazine

“their recent studio release contains everything one could think of in a power metal group. They have the prototypical flying guitar leads, blazing fast guitar chugs, extended solo breaks and over the top vocals. What really makes this band shine is their impressive guitar work. The duo of Danny Fang and Nick Harrington, relatively new to the metal scene themselves, easily puts them into San Diego’s higher echelon of guitar players. They often trade solos in their 5-7 minute long song structures, exchange guitar leads during bridges and choruses, and are incredibly sharp.” – Metal Assault

Well known in their home country of Ecuador and South America for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator, Firewind (Immortals Tour 2018), Edguy, UDO, and more. Heavy metal trio Black Sun unleashed their new EP “Silent Enemy” during September 2020 via Rockshots Records. The EP follows the band’s three previous albums “The Pupetteer” (2017), “Dance of Elders” (2010), and “Tyrant From a Foreign Land” (2015).

During the production of Black Sun‘s new material, the band parted ways with their longtime lead singer. Under the guidance of the EP’s producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), Black Sun found ways to complete the EP with guest singers on all the tracks. Guests include Finnish metal legends and talents like Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum / Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project). All come together to create a powerful and catchy metal hymn.

Today, Black Sun is ready to reveal their latest music video “Terror Zone”, which features guest vocals from Henning Basse (ex-Firewind, ex-Mayan, ex-Sons Of Seasons). The music video is an extract from their award-winning short film (total of 32 awards listed below from multiple film festivals), which can be found on the BluRay edition of “Silent Enemy”.

Black Sun’s latest EP “Silent Enemy” is a concept release of seven tracks, three of them being special music scores (intro, interlude, outro). The EP will also have a special short-film based on its storyline out on its release day that was written by Black Sun and Topias Kupiainen.

The EP was recorded at Hi NoiZ Studios and Sonic Pump Studios, mixed by Jens Bogren (tracks 2 and 3) and Nino Laurenne (tracks 1,4-7) and mastered by Svante Forsbäck.

Rockshots Records: Finland Prog Power Ultimatium Shares Single “Vengeance”

New Album “Virtuality” Out Nov 27th

Finland power proggers Ultimatium will be releasing their epic theme album “Virtuality” on Friday, November 27th via Rockshots Records.

Before it officially drops later this week, the band is sharing their latest video for their single “Vengeance”.

Ultimatium‘s mastermind Matti Pulkkinen explains the track:

“This is the opening song of our new prog power theme album “Virtuality”. The song features guest vocals from Emily Leone from Lost In Grey and our vocalist Tomi Viiltola along with drummer Matti Auerkallio who plays the role of the villain in the story. The song is fast with power metal themes and goes to more progressive stuff in the mid part. There’s also a blast beat for the first time in an Ultimatium track! Lyrics guide listeners to the story and give important clues of the things to come”

Watch “Vengeance” on Rockshots Records YouTube channel HERE.

“Virtuality” is set to be released on November 27.
