NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 22, 2020

For fans of Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Origin, and all their ex/current bands

Out Now! Party Grinders KILLITOROUS “The Afterparty”

Album guests from Voivod, Allegaeon, Soen, Blackguard, Cryptopsy, Firewind and more!Available from Tentacles Industries (Worldwide), Self-Release (North America)

The highly anticipated album “The Afterparty” from Canadian tech-death comedy metal band KILLITOROUS (consisting of members from Annihilator, Suffocation, First Fragment, and more!) is now available as of May 22nd via label Tentacles Industries.
“The Afterparty” is the follow up to 2014’s “Party, Grind”, which was also co-produced, mixed, and mastered by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, The Agonist, Shadow of Intent) at The Grid in Montreal, Quebec. The album features three guitars (which in terms of recording was a nightmare), tons of blast beats, brutal bass and vocals, plus of course tons of movie references, cartoon parodies, and endless phrases maintaining the fine art of partying. The track listing is as wacky and weird as usual, with a constant barrage of twisted pop-culture humor.

It also features a great list of party invitees with Dan Mongrain (Voivod/Martyr), Riley McShane (Allegaeon), Leo Diensthuber (Divine Realm), Cody Ford (Soen), Raphael Weinroth-Browne (Leprous), Youri Raymond (Unhuman), Callum Clark (Ending Tyranny), Paul Ablaze (Blackguard), Matt McGachy (Cryptopsy), Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschlager (ex-Obscura), Gore Lussier (Erimha), Bob Katsionis (Firewind), and Steven Henry (Neuraxis).

The band adds:

“‘The Afterparty’ is our sophomore effort, after many years of growing as musicians, friends and as a band. Since ‘Party, Grind’ was released in 2014, we’ve all individually joined hard-hitting and somewhat legendary bands and worked as sessions musicians for such bands as Annihilator, Suffocation, First Fragment, and more. We are more than stoked to show you our growth with our tremendous new line-up including a new vocalist and bassist, as well as the addition of a third guitar player. Similar to our debut release, this album is rammed full of blast beats, sweeps, shred, nasty vocals, and 90’s movie references. This new album features three guitars and as such is very dense harmonically, with very full arrangements and varies in styles across the metal genre. Besides more intense guitars and more solos, this album is a testament to our evolution as songwriters and features some of our catchiest songs/riffs to date. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!”

Killitorous‘ line up consists of Mathieu Dhani (Epiphany From The Abyss) on vocals, Guitarists: Aaron Homma( Annihilator/ex-Vital Remains), Nick Miller (First Fragment) and Marc Roy (ex-Divine Realm), Eric Morotti (Suffocation/ex-Blind Witness) on drums and Xavier Sperdouklis on bass.

New Album “The Afterparty” Out May 22, 2020 via Tentacles Industries

Canada’s tech-death comedy metal band KILLITOROUS (which consists of members from Annihilator, Suffocation, First Fragment and more!) unleash their second single ‘Total Protonic Reversal’ with a premiere of the track’s music video via MetalInjection HERE.

The band comments:

“We have been working on the new album for 4 years, but we spent 6 years writing and arranging (specifically the 3 guitar parts) all the music. Everyone was quite busy as well with all their other projects after the 2014 release of “Party, Grind” that we had to really plan to be able to get anything done. The music is also just bananas so we really had to work our pants off in the studio for what felt like an eternity.

As a side note, we also had to learn how to track and record music ourselves to be able to record the guitars properly which is just a whole story in itself(Sorry to our producers for torturing them ).

This new single is both the fastest and the slowest song we’ve ever written…and features a guest solo from one of our heroes Dan Mongrain(Voivod/Martyr) which to us is still just mind-blowingly amazing.

Obviously the song is an homage to one of the greatest movie franchises known to mankind: Ghostbusters 1 & 2. With lyrics cover everything from not crossing the streams, to Vigo The Carpathian.

We have definitely gone in a bit more of a melodic direction but we’ve made sure to keep noisy, dissonant and chaotic riffs as a staple point of everything that is Killitorous.”

KILLITOROUS’ new album “The Afterparty” due out May 22nd, 2020 via label Tentacles Industries. “The Afterparty” is the follow up to 2014’s “Party, Grind”, which was also co-produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, The Agonist, Shadow of Intent) at The Grid in Montreal, Quebec.

OUT NOW! MIRE (prog rock/metal) Heirs To TOOL Throne…? New Album ‘Inward/Outward’; Montreal Show Dates; New Music Video ‘Limitless Pt. 2’

Two years in the making, Montreal, QC’s MIRE are proud to announce the official release of their new album ‘Inward/Outward’ out this week on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP.

Based on the band’s personal experiences ranging from the study of cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan, MIRE‘s 10 tracks marry a sonic wall of loud heavy yet strong melodic progressive rock metal that is winning fans and media over with comparisons of being named heirs to the Tool throne (media reviews below).

Vocalist JP LaChapelle comments on the release:

“Interpreted through our fingers, tongued and toe tips, this album which we’ve been working on for 2 years at totally different points in our lives, demonstrates the fan of emotions of 5 individuals’ experience. The craft is the loom into which our soil-tending, sun-vising and pest-warding efforts bear fruit. Love for the fate of man and the anger to defend it. Overwhelmed with a sense of innate creativity, we all curb our nature to the structures put in place for our short lives; whether building an enterprise, community or institution of any kind. MIRE’s decided to make music. Filtered as pure as possible, our passion rendered this product. Our maiden album expresses the plight of an impeached animal nature, faced with the philosophy of man’s fate run through questionable funnels. Throughout our creative process, we’ve experienced different stages and shed skins. The 5 colors we shine combine through the prism of ‘Inward Outward’ to produce the first of MIRE’s own hues. Being able to walk one’s own path is its own reward and we five musicians feel incredibly fortunate to have seized the chance to create this album. That’s what we celebrate every time we hear it. SHARE”

The album is now available as PAY WHAT YOU WANT on the band’s bandcamp here.

mire - "limitless(pt2)" [official hd]

“…newcomers Mire should be considered the heirs to the Tool throne with their latest record, Inward Outward is about as close to Tool as you can get without being Tool. Musically and sonically, Mire are spot-on with the psychedelic metal we’ve all become so accustomed to and you’re guaranteed to zone out listening to the record.” – The Front Row Report

“With Inward:Outward, MIRE has formed a soundscape that flows between mellow moods and mental turbulence, using the whole spectrum of sound as its playground. It is emotional, striking, and addictively wonderful. You would be doing yourself a disservice not to, at the very least, download the free tracks offered by this promising young group.” – Barry Adkins – Target Audience Magazine

“While the world waits for the forthcoming Tool album (and we’ve been waiting a LONG time), everyone should do themselves a favor and grab a copy of Inward/Outward. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.” – Sea of Tranquility

“…a sophisticated style with fundamental guitars and classy quality vocals.” – Metal Temple

“This is an album of incredibly impressive music that is both haunting and uplifting in equal measure.  The soaring audio landscapes are multi-layered, and the experience of listening to this album is a real emotional journey.  It perfectly combines aggressive chunky guitars, melodic piano, and moments of all out angst and aggression. This is an album of hypnotizing prog-metal that just gets better with each and every listen.  If you’re a fan of progressive rock / metal, this is highly recommended! Score: 9.0 out of 10″ – All About The Rock

“Fans of bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones and Porcupine Tree should feel right at home listening to this quintet out of Montreal QC…I think MIRE is a band to keep your eyes and ears on, and I look forward to seeing their territory grow.” – Rock Revolt Magazine

“I adore this album and have now had it on three times and heard new bits that make me go ‘Ahhh!’ in satisfaction each time. Definitely one to buy, and definitely a band to watch out for.” – Wyrd Ways Rock Show Review

Montreal, QC’s progressive rock / metal band MIRE are offering their latest track ‘Tyrannicide’ for FREE download from their upcoming album ‘Inward/Outward’ set for release on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP.

“Implied by the name, ‘Tyrannicide’ is about exterminating the tyrant that rules you. Be it a cruel lover, an autocratic leader or dictatorial boss; the essence of Rock should liberate you to choose freedom and independence over indoctrination. Break out of your borders and blast past the bounds; burn the limitless fuel of your livelihood and beat your wings to fly. Earn your Name. Go Kill The Tyrant.” comments vocalist JP LaChapelle.

Two years in the making, Inward/Outward is a 10 track reflection of ideas flying every which way around the recording studio, ranging from cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan by guitarist Dave Massicotte.

“We created this with our guts and have dared to explore a less common style of metal where the music is less obvious and sometimes requires the individual to have more than one listen before being able to grasp and really appreciate every musical element,” says guitarist Massicotte of the album. “From big chunky guitar to light piano melody, every song will take you on a different journey and set of emotions.”

Rising out of Montreal, QC’s vibrant music scene, progressive rock / metal band MIRE are proud to announce the official release of their debut album Inward/Outward on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP.

The band has released the first music video ‘Limitless Pt. 2’ in support of the album, which can be viewed at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQnqLxFv5oM

“Limitless Pt. 2 is about waking up from your daily grind to acknowledge the mysticism of your existence. The potential of what mankind is capable of, starts in the hands of its individual subjects – it starts with you. As the title implies, Limitless is an expression of how far you should push your ambitions in all directions to fulfill your own ideal based on your individual experience.’ says vocalist JP LaChapelle. “MIRE celebrates diversity, because slaving to fit the mold serves another. Enough of us have been sacrificed for a semblance of freedom, and to perfect it takes mad balls. Courage to confront fear every single morning, day and night, live on the edge of your seat at all times and lean forward – goad life to ‘come at you bro’. Developing your conscience allows you to stretch out the fiber of the NOW and analyse it. Establish objectives; try 10 times in different ways until you succeed. OWN YOUR DESTINY. That’s the passion we felt when we created Limitless together.”
