Long Live Rock N Roll With Calgary’s Lÿnx’s New Video For Rock Anthem “Shake It Up”

Lÿnx is a pure rock n’ roll act hailing from Calgary, Canada, and thus far has released two albums to glowing worldwide reception. With records being sold from Spain to Australia, and the UK to Japan it’s clear that the world is ready for rock to come roaring back into the mainstream. Their latest release is a music video for the single “Shake It Up” coming from their forthcoming album “Claws Out”. The band dishes on what’s in store:

Lÿnx formed as a group that came together with a shared dream of wanting more out of life. All of them have worked jobs they hate, grinding away years of their lives without a legitimate way to live out their dreams. They share this along with one other thing – a burning desire to create. They all love music to their core, and more specifically good old rock n roll. This dream as well as the experiences they’ve had working for someone else has brought them together, and they want to make the most out of their time here.

​About: Lÿnx is an 80s-inspired Hard Rock/ Metal four piece currently based in Calgary, Alberta Canada. During the 2020 pandemic, the band was formed by former vocalist Lazer Wild and Lead Guitarist Blade. Soon after bassist Fangs, and Drummer Flash joined and Lÿnx was formed. The band is currently fronted by Ja6ur on Vocals, Blade on guitar, Fangs on bass, and Flash on Drums/ Percussion. Connected by a shared love of 80s glam metal and hard rock, the band immediately set about writing original songs that embody the style and swagger of the past, while embracing the polished production and down-to-earth grit of their more modern rock influences.

Lÿnx released their debut self-titled EP in February 2021 followed up by their second EP titled “Long Live Rock N Roll” in September 2021 with Bullzhorn Records. Since their releases, the band has gained popularity through various reviews on different media platforms in Europe, Australia, and North America. Calgary’s riff wizards Woodhawk announce they will be trekking across Canada once again in support of their latest album “Violent Nature” released this past November. The tour will kick off in Vancouver on March 26th and wrap up in Nelson, BC on May 23rd (dates listed below).

The band comments:

“We’re thrilled to be hitting the road in Canada again. This will be our largest Canadian tour yet, going from coast to coast. Always happy to get to some new places and meet some new people, and return to our favourite places. We were thrilled with how well our latest record ‘Violent Nature’ did in Canada, so it only felt natural to roll into as many cities as possible. See you at the gig!”

Woodhawk‘s sophomore full length “Violent Nature” steps away from the science fiction themes evident on their previous release 2017’s “Beyond The Sun” and takes a more therapeutic turn. Putting a lot of time and production into the new album with producer Jesse Gander (Rain City Recorders), Woodhawk has worked really hard to capture energy and emotion.

“On previous efforts, we wrote from a science fiction standpoint. It’s where we all were at, at the point in our lives and reflected what we wanted to say and represent. The elegant anthems and pulsing chords of the next phase in the group’s sonic evolution can scarcely be contained. Grounded with one foot in the present and another in the dynamic future, Woodhawk’s outlook is as boundless as their command of their genre. Calgary’s Woodhawk are at it again with a new album “Violent Nature” being released on Friday, November 1st. Before it officially drops, the stoner rock trio has teamed up with MetalInsider.net for the album’s exclusive full stream premiere HERE.
